Suicide Mission (Guarded Secrets Series Book 1)

“Going out tomorrow? Is there another girl?” Camden was learning the ways of the cartel from his father, slowly taking over the whole thing until he married. His father's first rule was that he had to be married before he could take over, because once he started running it there was no time to meet women, at least not ones that weren't already in it for the money. In the end, that was all that really mattered to him anyway; to take over and have a woman he could tolerate being with.
Camden wanted to take over as soon as possible, but hadn't found the right girl yet. Frankly, I hoped he never did. I didn't want some poor woman to be lied to, and get involved with the cartel, especially when we were about to take them down. At the same time I hoped that Camden would find someone and take over. He was less cautious than his father, meaning he would be easier to take out in the long run.
I was sure that his dad would teach him differently when it came time, but for now, Camden made it too easy to gather information on the cartel. He trusted me too much, but that was his mistake.
Camden sighed before he replied. “Yeah, but I don't want to talk about it much until I've been on the date with her. I remember the last time I talked with you before I had my first date with a girl.”
“You mean Candice?” I asked with a laugh.
Camden shuddered at the mention of her name before nodding. Candice had been a wonderful young lady, until you got her alone and she had one of three different personalities. The one I had seen the most was her flirting with everyone, and being all over Camden. Now most men wouldn't mind having an attractive lady on them, but when she did it in excess anyone would get sick of it, especially seeing it happen. Needless to say it didn't last long, and everyone gave him shit for it.
“So I think I will be with her on my own for a while. I definitely don't need another Rachel.”
Yet another woman that had been with Camden when she realized he had money and was overly clingy because of it. Those never lasted long for many reasons, but the most used one during the break up was that he was never home or showed affection. These girls were asking a lot of him. If they only knew who he really was. “So I think I will keep this one to myself, and see how it goes. I've met her before, and she seemed better than the others. We will see how the date goes, I'm hoping this girl is the one because I need a wife soon or I can't take over.”
In the end, that was all that really mattered to him anyway.
Acknowledgments
To my fans on Wattpad, especially those that have supported this series from the first draft and bounced around ideas with me. Thank you to Nina, Taylor, Avery, and a few others who I know by username. I would also like to thank Limitless and their amazing team, who not only gave me my start, but helped me improve and change in amazing ways. Along with my amazingly supportive family, they have supported me since I signed and have encouraged me even though I was inexperienced and young. Thank you to everyone in the team, especially my editor Darryl, who’s worked with me on all of my stories thus far, Dixie, Jennifer, Jen, and the rest of the Limitless team. It’s been wonderful, and I can’t wait to share more stories through Limitless.
About the Author
My name is Sara, I’m 19 years old, and I was born and raised in Alexandria Virginia. I have always been interested in writing, even started a book in elementary school, but it didn’t get very far. But it wasn’t until high school that my friend, and writing partner, more or less forced me to join an amateur writing site. After some convincing from her, I plucked up the courage and posted one of my stories. While it wasn’t popular at first, I was shocked and overwhelmed by the support of readers on Wattpad, and they gave me the support and confidence to get where I am today. I continued to write religiously for the next three years I was on the website, starting countless stories. I wasn’t worried that they weren’t popular because I had once heard that you shouldn’t be afraid to write crap, because it will make great fertilizer. I can’t wait to start sharing more works and ideas with you guys!
