Thankfully, I got MG to agree to let me take Michaela with me. I think it was more so because she was a handful and not because he just wanted to be nice to me. My baby was the sweetest little thing, but I swear whatever she could get into, she did get into. Luckily, everything I was doing on this trip didn’t require my attention to be away from her, except for when I did the actual show appearance, but that wouldn’t be long enough for her to wreak havoc backstage… at least I hoped not. My assistant Stella was pretty handy with Michaela, so I’d be fine, I was sure.
“You still here?” I heard MG’s voice as I grabbed the last few thongs I’d recently washed from the dryer.
“Yeah, I know I’m running late, but I had to take these with me. They’re my lucky thongs.” I smiled, dangling them as he walked towards me after shutting the laundry room door and locking it. “Micah, no. I have to leave in like twenty minutes to get to the airport.”
“I don’t need long.”
He scooped me up in one motion and placed me on the table that I used to fold clothes. I wanted to protest again, but the feeling of his hands moving up my skirt halted that shit. My voice seemingly got caught in my throat as he gently moved my panties to the side while kissing on my neck. I started to unbuckle his jeans as our lips crushed together, and although I’d planned to massage his dick a little bit, I didn’t need to.
“Damn,” I commented.
“Exactly.”
He yanked me to the edge of the table roughly, placed my thighs over his arms, and entered me slowly. Gripping my ass cheeks in his hands, he pushed himself further inside of me, hitting me with some deep ass strokes. This was why he had my ass ready to fight bitches, day in and day out. It was his fault.
“Fuck,” I cried lowly, gripping his shirt in my hands as he fucked me. “Micah,” I sniveled.
Our tongues tangled together as we sucked one another’s lips, and once I rained down on his thick pole, he wrapped his arm tightly around my torso. Still holding me, MG pummeled my pussy feverishly, sending an indescribable feeling throughout my body. I clung to him like a monkey did a tree as he punished my pussy right there on the wooden table. Calling out loudly, I didn’t care if I woke the kids up from their naps; this dick was too good not to shout about.
“Damn,” MG grumbled, delivering a couple more glides in and out of me before filling me up.
For a few moments, we sat there breathing hard as hell and kissing one another, until finally he pulled out of me.
“Now I have to shower! You made me sweat, and my panties are fucking done for, Micah!” I spat, as he backed away from the table grinning like the shit was funny.
“Crazy to me how submissive you are when you’re getting fucked versus how crazy you are when ya not. That’s sexy.”
“Fuck you.” I hopped down off the table, almost breaking my ankle and collapsing.
Snatching my panties up from the other edge of the table, I stormed out with MG on my heels. Quickly, I got into the shower, with his ass doing the same, but I made sure to wash my body hurriedly and got right the fuck out.
I slipped on some tights, my Givenchy slides, and a halter-top because I didn’t give a fuck, then went to fetch my baby. Once I had Michaela ready, I went to kiss Michael goodbye, even though he refused to fully wake up from his nap. I’d miss my little baby.
Thank God the truck that my assistant ordered had only been waiting for a couple minutes. MG helped me to the truck, carrying all my bags, and then after he gave both Michaela and me kisses goodbye, we were off to the airport.
As sad as I was to leave half of my family here, I was excited to do this big ass thing for my restaurant. Things were only looking upward at this point.

That evening… Stamford, Connecticut…
After that long flight, I’d finally arrived at my hotel. Michaela was so well behaved on the flight that I thought something was wrong with her. But I guess snacks and movies will make a baby act sensible.
Everything went smoothly with the check-in as usual. I was used to not paying for hotels and stuff to the point where it was ridiculous. Anytime I traveled, it was for work, and usually a work engagement that the people who hired me paid for. The other times I traveled were with my husband for his shows and stuff, and the hotel bills were always taken care of then, too, but mainly by MG.
As soon as I made it to my room, my work phone began ringing, and I saw it was Keane Davis’ assistant, the one who’d been communicating with my assistant and I this whole time.
“Put that down, Michaela. We’re about to go eat. okay?” I smiled at my daughter just as I answered the phone. “This is Kattlyn.”
“Hi, Kattlyn. I hope the hotel accommodations have been up to your standards.”
“They were, thanks.” I bucked my eyes even though she couldn’t see me because I was wondering why the fuck she was calling me at 8 p.m. at night. Plus, I was starved.
“Great, great. So tonight, we kind of wanted you to come down to the shooting studio for a tour and then to have dinner with everyone.”
“Oh… see, my baby is here with me, and she’s hungry now, so I need—”
“Oh my gosh, bring her! We have plenty of snacks for her to munch on until dinner tonight! We even have a play area!”
“Uhh, sure I guess, that’s fine.”
“Great. A car is already on the way and should be arriving in a few minutes. Feel free to wear whatever you have on. This is just a casual, laid back, friendly thing.”
“I hadn’t planned to change, Kirsten, but thank you.” I hung up.
“Mommy, eat now?” Michaela asked, holding one of those candy bars that were damn near $10. She continued chewing what she’d bitten off as she awaited my answer.
“Yes, baby. Put that down.”
“Noooo!” Michaela began to cry hard as hell with her dramatic ass.
“Baby, we’re about to go get something better to eat, okay?” I rubbed her little head and she nodded before wiping her nose.
I took the candy from her little hand, and then picked her up before grabbing my purse. I walked by the mirror and saw my hair was a bit frazzled, so I placed Michaela on the table nearby and began to brush it really quickly, before grabbing her back up and heading out of the door.
When I got downstairs and outside, I saw a guy with a sign that read my name, so I hopped in the car he was leaning on.
We made it to the studio fairly quickly, and it took no time for us to get up inside. As soon as I saw Keane’s assistant, Kirsten, I got right to business.
“Hi, where are the snacks?” Shit, Michaela ate on that damn plane and I didn’t, so I wanted to cry too.
“Right over there, how are… you.” Kirsten’s words trailed off as I went to get one of the croissant sandwiches, along with some other foods for me and my baby.
I sat down at the little table closest to me, and as Kirsten came over to join us, Michaela and I began to go in. I didn’t care to have conversation with this bitch at the moment.
“Mr. Davis should be coming out in any moment to meet you so we can do the tour and then go eat.”
“Where is everyone else? You made it sound like more people would be joining us.”
“Did I? No, it’s just gonna be a dinner with you and Mr. Davis. I can keep an eye on—”
“No, I don’t need you to keep an eye on my daughter. She can come to the damn dinner, it’s not like we’re gonna be on a date.”
“True.”
Kirsten continued to talk about nonsense as Michaela and I ate them good ass sandwiches, chips, fruit, and salad. I for sure wasn’t gonna be hungry at dinner, but I wanted to go to make a good impression on Keane Davis. I needed him on my good side for this show.
“Well, if it isn’t the lady of the hour,” I heard a familiar voice, and when I turned some, I saw it was Keane.
Keane was a tall, older, brown-skinned Black guy. He kind of reminded me of my father, just with a lot less Cuban flavor to him.
&nb
sp; “Oh my gosh, nice to meet you, Mr. Davis.” I stood up and reached to shake his hand, but he pulled me in for a hug. “This is my baby girl, Michaela.”
“Hi!” Michaela shouted, waving her sandwich and flinging bread everywhere.
“Nice to meet you, Michaela! You are just as beautiful as your mother,” Keane replied, smiling at her and then turning it to me. I responded in the same manner.
Kirsten rose from her seat and asked, “So when they’re done, should we do the tour?”
“Uh… no, why don’t we skip the tour for now. It’s a little late, and who wants to see an old studio anyway.” He laughed.
“Right umm, okay, then the tour is cancelled.”
“Of course it is. Now, Kattlyn, why don’t you and your beautiful daughter join me across the street for some dessert since it looks like you two have already eaten.”
“Okay, sure. Michaela, you want dessert?” I grinned at her and she nodded, chewing with her mouth open. Nothing my baby did was disgusting to me, but I’m sure it was to other people.
Michaela and I finished eating our food as Kirsten and Keane discussed whatever the hell they needed to. Afterwards, the three of us said our goodbyes to Kirsten, and then made our way across the street to some fancy restaurant I’d never heard of. I definitely wasn’t dressed for the occasion, but I was too full and too tired to even care. Hell, if Keane didn’t mind, then why should I?
Once we were seated, we ordered something sweet, with Michaela and I sharing a big fat piece of chocolate cake with ice cream on top.
“Your daughter is beautiful,” Keane commented.
“Thank you. I never got to also thank you for inviting me to come on your show and announce my upcoming restaurant. It really means a lot to me.”
“I should be thanking you; big time chef agreeing to be on my show in the first place.” He smiled. “A beautiful big-time chef at that.”
“Well you’re welcome.” I chuckled, and so did he.
“So you flew all the way out here for little old me, huh?”
“I guess you could say that. I do have a few other engagements here, but this was the main event.”
“What did your husband think of you leaving this close to the holidays? And he didn’t mind you taking your daughter?”
“He was fine with it. He supports the movement.” I half smiled. “And he’s gonna miss our munchkin, but we’ll be back soon.”
I wasn’t about to tell Keane that MG wasn’t too happy about my travel plans. That was a mistake a lot of people made; showing the small unimportant cracks in their relationship, and giving an outsider a way in. I was happily married, and I wasn’t about to let anyone try to change that; not Keane, and not that slutty slice of cheesecake Daisy.
“Mommy, I sleepy noooow!” Michaela whined, blinking slowly.
“Okay, baby.” I turned to Keane and said, “I’m sorry. I think we’re both tired.”
“Sure, of course, I understand. So I guess I will see you tomorrow then?”
“Ye—”
“Actually, my driver can drop you off back at your hotel, no need to pay for another driver.”
“Okay, sure, thank you.”
Keane called his driver to come pick us up, and once we were all inside, he gave him the address of my hotel. During the drive, we talked a little bit more as Michaela fell asleep in my arms. When we finally pulled up, I got ready to get out, but Keane grabbed my arm.
“You have a good night, beautiful, and I can’t wait for tomorrow morning.”
“Me either; thanks again.”
I admit he was a bit pervy and creepy, but after tomorrow, I wouldn’t be seeing his ass again. I was gonna use him up for this promotion really quickly then go on about my damn business. If ignoring his googly eyes and cringy comments would get me what I needed, I didn’t mind. Hell, I’d done way worse with a man for much less.
As soon as I got up in the room, I changed Michaela and let her have her own bed. She slept too wildly, and I needed all the rest I could get without her kicking me in the face. She was the first person to ever knock the shit out of me and I couldn’t retaliate.
After I took a quick shower, I texted with MG for a little bit and then dozed off.
It felt like I hadn’t been sleep for but an hour, when I heard someone walking into the hotel room. I panicked silently, hoping like hell that this was a nightmare. My eyes darted to the lamp on the nightstand between the two beds that Michaela and I were sleeping in, but when I reached for it, the sight before me caught me off guard.
“Keane?” I quizzed lowly. “How did you get into my room?”
“This is my city, it was easy.” He smiled, walking toward me slowly after removing his jacket.
“Wh—what are you doing?” My voice trembled, not because I was afraid but because I didn’t want this to be happening. I needed this opportunity, and I knew once I turned him down for sex, we’d have bad blood between us. But maybe if I did it nicely, things would go smoothly.
“I think we had a connection, Katt.” He sat on the edge of the bed. “You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.” He started to peel the covers off of my lap since I was sitting up at this point.
“Keane, please don’t do this. I am a married woman, very happily married.” I flashed him the heavy rock on my finger to hopefully truly embed this fact into his head.
Instead, he grabbed my hand and kissed it.
“We can keep this between us.”
“No, Keane—no, I said move!”
I shoved him, making his old ass fall to the ground. Michaela whined a little bit, something she did whenever she was half asleep.
“You need to get the fuck out of my room!” I shouted but in a low tone so I wouldn’t disturb my baby.
Keane, with a deep frown on his face, rose to his feet slowly as he glared at me. I hopped from the bed simultaneously, just in case he wanted to try again. The old Kattlyn would have clocked his ass over the head and robbed him, but now I not only had a reputation to uphold, but a family that didn’t need my ass behind bars. I’d worked too hard to get to where I was, and some old perverted fuck wasn’t about to ruin it all for me.
Keane laughed, almost like an evil plan had skated through his mind, and then he left the room abruptly.
As soon as he did, I dialed the guest service desk.
“Guest services this is Gracie, how—”
“This is Kattlyn Gaines, and I need another room right fucking now. Also, Gracie, I hope you’re not the one who gave Keane Davis a key to my fucking room, because you’re about lose your damn job. Bring my new key up ASAP, and it’s gonna be free of charge. Thank you.” I hung up, not giving that hoe a chance to speak.
I was shaken up for some reason, mainly because my baby was in here. Had Keane been even worse than he already was, he may have done something to us both. I snatched Michaela up from the bed and hugged her tightly, just as a light knock on my door sounded off. When I went to see who it was, I saw a young lady who apparently worked here.
“Hello, Mrs. Gaines. I—”
“Have someone get my shit.” I snatched the key from her and then proceeded to the room that was written on the card since it was just three doors down.
What a fucking night?

The next morning… Around 5 a.m.…
BOOM! BOOM!
I shot up from my sleeping position, heart beating fast as hell. Placing my hand over my chest, I breathed slowly as my heart slammed around.
“Who the fuck is it!” I spat, pissed the hell off about last night and the fact that someone woke me up. I still had another hour to sleep before I had to get ready for the show… “Stella, what the fuck?” I frowned at my assistant when I opened the door. “And I thought your plane didn’t land for another hour.”
“I got an earlier flight.” She sighed. “Look, Kattlyn, I don’t know what happened or why, but Kirsten is saying you breached the contract and now they’re not doing your segment o
n the show.”
“Breached a contract? What the fuck did I do!” I yelled. I knew this was about last night, but I was sure giving Keane some pussy wasn’t in the contract.
“It stated something about physical altercations, and Kirsten claims you put your hands on Keane.”
“You have got to be fucking kidding me.”
Chapter Three: Virginia Carter
“Finally, they’re sleep.” Bia smiled before falling onto the couch in Draylah’s den. We’d gotten all the kids together today, and it was beyond exhausting. My baby couldn’t even walk yet, nor talk, and she tired me out quickly as hell. I was just thankful that she wasn’t at Bia or Draylah’s kids’ ages because they were a ball of fucking energy.
“I opened the wine while y’all were upstairs.” I chuckled, seeing how tired they were. Alessiah had fallen asleep an hour ago, so I was good.
“I need the biggest glass.” Draylah got up and grabbed some glasses from the cupboard in the den.
She brought them over to the coffee table in front of the large couch, and after we filled our glasses up damn near, we all sat back and sighed before laughing. Bia downed hers before anyone else, which had us giving her the side eye.
“You okay?” I quizzed her.
“Yep. I just like this wine.” She sat up, placed her glass down, and then refilled it.
Draylah turned on the TV to look for something to watch, as Bia nursed her wine, seemingly in deep thought. Picking up my phone, I decided to just reply to some messages I had, one of them being from Jason who was constantly hitting me up to see how Alessiah and I were doing. I smiled as I put the glass to my lips, typing back to him with the other hand.
Draylah and Bia were still searching, so I went on Instagram just to look around and pass time. As I scrolled the explore page, I saw a picture that looked like my nigga laid up in the bed with a bitch that wasn’t me. I saw it had a headline above it, meaning it’d been posted by one of those gossip blogs that I despised. With my heart thumping wildly, I tapped the photo, eyes darting towards my friends to make sure they weren’t peeping at my screen.
