Mystic Realms: A Limited Edition Collection Page 52

“Mmm.” He gripped my bottom and pressed my heat to the abundant erection in his pants. “You’re going to be the death of me, aren’t you?”

“Never.” I wrapped my arms around his neck and boldly molded my lips to his mouth, sensually flicking my tongue against his. I rocked my hips toward him, feeling him grow even larger.

“We’re going to the bedroom.” His voice rumbled in my ear as he lifted me.

I wrapped my legs tightly around his waist, happy to go wherever he wanted to take me. Thankfully it was to a place where I could get rid of the rest of his clothes. I wanted to see and touch every inch of him. Five years of fantasizing was too long. I couldn’t hold back anymore.

He kicked open his bedroom door and dropped me on his California king. Just as I’d expected. His bed took up more than half of his room. I ran my hands over the black silk comforter. It was everything I’d imagined from the four-poster bed down to the... Was that a mirror on the ceiling?

“Sim?” I caught his attention as his pants plunked to the floor. I had the urge to ask how many women he’d had in this bed but thought otherwise. Did I really want to know? He was gorgeous, with the power to persuade any human. And apparently one Angel.

“Just a few, love,” he answered my unasked question. “None quite as beautiful and tempting as you though.” Completely naked, he crawled onto the bed, slipped both my tennis shoes off, and then threw them over his shoulder.

“A few?” I curled my feet up. “Like the woman you seduced on her wedding night?” The reason I’d had to give him his first strike. I’d always wondered about her. Had he brought her here? Had she regretted giving her body to him? Or had one night with Simeon been worth breaking the vows she had made just hours before?

“The only woman I want to think about right now is the sassy redhead lying on my bed.” He slipped my socks off and tossed them as well. “You’ll never guess how often I’ve dreamed about getting you here.” He climbed up my body and kissed my lips.

  “You’ve dreamed of me?”

“Almost every night since the first time I laid eyes on you.”

Boy, was he good at this seducing business. I forgot about the other women and reached down to unzip my jeans. He helped by tugging them off and then ran his hands back up my legs, stopping at the edge of my panties.

I thanked my lucky stars that I’d shaved this morning. I peeked down at my panties as he stripped them down. They were the cute pink ones with the little baby blue bow at the front. Not too bad. They could’ve been much worse, believe me. I released a breath.

On the way back up, he stopped to kiss my mound before working my T-shirt off me. I’d have helped if I hadn’t been utterly paralyzed from my eyebrows down. It was happening. And I was allowing it. Damn it if I wasn’t thrilled out of my mind. Even the little voice in my head was quivering in anticipation.

“You’re trembling, sweetheart.” He released the front clamp to my bra and succeeded to toss that into the ever-growing pile of clothes. Then he sat back and stared, inching his attention down my body. His gaze lingered at my breasts and gradually lowered to where my legs spread open for him.

I’d never felt more nude, more exposed. As nonchalantly as possible, I covered my nipples with my hands and clenched my knees shut. He’d seen me naked before, but it seemed it was happening in slow motion this time.

“Why are you timid all of a sudden?”

“Not used to being examined under the microscope. So sorry.”

He chuckled and brought his hands up to my knees. “I’m only enjoying the view, sweetheart. You have a beautiful body, and I want to remember it lest I never get the chance to see it again.” He eased my legs apart and sank down on top of me.

“Oh.” I moved my hands to his shoulders and allowed the full contact of his heated body. It felt wonderful. “I guess there’s always that. Oh―” I gasped as he nudged his cock against my opening. “There’s always that chance. We’re not exactly...mmm―” I felt his hand caress my breast. “We’re not on the same team.”

“Don’t worry, love.” He lowered his head and licked my pebbled, love-starved nipple. “You’ll be cheering for me in no time.”

His silly grin made me burst out in giggles, but I quickly quieted as he went back to work. His warm tongue swirled around my tight areola. Then he took me into his mouth, mercilessly sucking until I arched up toward him in surrender.

Taking the hint, he released and pressed a kiss to my nipple. “Are you very sensitive here?”

I nodded. “It’s been a long time since someone’s even touched me. But I like it.”

  “How long?”

  “Hmm. About five years.”

He smiled. “Did I ruin you for all other men then?”

“Sure.” I lifted my hips, pressing myself against his cock. “Can we quit talking now?”

He locked up his lips and threw away the key before giving the other breast the same treatment as the first, although ruthlessly ignoring my pleas for surrender this time.

I felt myself growing wet for him. Sopping and quivering with want. Though sensitive, my body yearned for more.

“I need you inside me,” I whispered, knowing full well he could hear me.

“Patience,” he said as he kissed his way down my belly. “While I savor you.” Gently, he slid a finger inside me.

“Okay,” I said breathlessly. Who was I to argue? I closed my eyes and relaxed, willing myself not to scream in delight as his tongue flicked across my clit.

He licked, sucked, nibbled, and delved until I moaned and shuddered against him. Limp with pleasure, I could only watch as he kissed his way back up.

A desperate hunger hid behind his hooded eyes as he lowered his head and pressed his mouth to mine. It was hard to believe I could make a man look that way. As if I was the only woman he’d ever wanted. In this moment, I felt close to him. Nothing mattered but the connection between our bodies, between our souls.

Except Judd. He mattered. No, don’t think about him. Not now.

I wrapped my legs around Simeon’s hips and stared up into his heavy eyes. “Please,” I said. “I need you.” Before I changed my mind. Before the guilt came over me.

He sank into me then, filling me completely with one push. “Abigail, I’ve wanted this for so long.” He withdrew halfway and eased back in. “You’re so wet for me.”

Heat surged through my thighs and belly. I clung to him, pressing my fingers into his back. I attempted to meet his thrusts, lifting my pelvis up. It was so much better than I’d remembered. The room spun around me until I caught sight of the mirror above us.

The image staring back at me was glorious. My pale legs wrapped around his tan body. My hands clamping into his broad, muscled back. His tight buttocks clenching as he drove into me.

It was sinful and oh, so good.

“Simeon,” I moaned as a burning wave rolled through me.

  “Yes, love, come for me.”

“Yes, yes. Oh, God, yes.” The wave intensified, boggling me senseless as I released.

Simeon thrust twice more before groaning and collapsing his full weight onto my body .

We both panted, and I ran my hands over his back and down his buttocks, getting my fill before it all ended. He was perfection. Every inch of him. And I wasn’t sure this intimacy between us would ever happen again. Or if I could ever let it happen again.

“Sweetheart?” His breath was warm against my ear.

“Yes?” I turned my head to kiss his cheek and push a damp strand of hair from his face.

“I do believe I’ve fallen in love with you.”

“No,” I said too loudly and maneuvered away and off the bed. “That’s not possible.” Why would he say something so odd?

  “It is.”

My heart was pounding and my mind wasn’t working properly. I searched the floor for my panties but didn’t see them. “Demons don’t love. They lust. Maybe it’s just lust.”

  “Does this mean you’
re not going to admit you love me too?” Simeon leaned back on his pillowed headboard still completely naked and gave me a devilishly playful grin. “You’re hurting my feelings.”

“Demons don’t have feelings,” I reminded him and tugged my T-shirt over my head. “I don’t see my panties anywhere. Do you see them?”

“I’m part human, you’re forgetting. I can love you if I want to. And I do want to, whether you cooperate or not. I’m insanely in love with you. I want to share this bed with you every night for the rest of my life, which is a big commitment considering.”

“See? You want to have sex. Sex has nothing to do with love, well, much.” I dropped to the floor and looked under his vast bed.

“Fine. I want to make you sushi and let you buy me hamburgers. I want to argue with you and let you win.”

“Let me win? Excuse me?” I stood up and perched my hands on my hips.

“I want to wake up in the morning and reach over to kiss your cute freckled nose. I want to sink my hands into your fiery hair and pull you to my lips. I want to eat your delicious pussy for dessert every night.”

“Whoa! That’s enough, big boy.” Wait until MOG gets a load of this.

“I want you to get mad at me for reasons beyond my control and then do everything I can to make it up to you because I hate seeing you upset.”

“Wait.” I put my hand up to stop him from continuing. “Please, let’s think this through rationally. You’ve known me, what, three or four days?” Oh, heck. Did demons lose all rationality after sex?

  “Over five years, actually.”

“But we haven’t spent that much time together. You barely know me.”

“I have an entire file on you.”

  “You what?”

“And I plan to add your intriguing interest in music. I noticed you have quite a collection of Aerosmith CDs in your car, particularly from the seventies and eighties. Aren’t they a bit before your time?”

“You don’t know my age, and Aerosmith is classic. See? We don’t even share the same taste in music. How could you possibly love me?”

“You’re twenty-eight human years old, and I went to my first Aerosmith concert when you were just learning how to use those lethal thumbs of yours. I was invited backstage once, in fact. I could share my story sometime, if you like.” He stood and walked toward me in all his naked glory. Broad shoulders leading down to a tan rippled stomach leading down to... Wow.

Damn, why did he have to be so tempting? So persuasive? So...so wicked?

“Do you want this?” He opened his hand, and my panties unwrinkled in his palm. I grabbed for them, but he tossed them to the floor.

  “Now, that’s not very nice―”

My heartbeat pattered sharply as he pulled me to his chest. His lips covered mine, and I couldn’t help but ingest his scent and his taste. I kissed him back because, well, because it made me feel more alive than I’d ever felt. In his arms, I was more than a defective Angel with a bad rep. My flaws disappeared. My confidence rose. My mind calmed.

“Mmm...” I took in a breath as he broke the kiss.

He lifted my chin and forced me to look into his bewitching eyes. “Stay with me tonight, Abigail. Who cares what anyone thinks?”

The phone rang from somewhere in the bedroom, breaking the magical spell Simeon had me under. I cleared my throat and pulled away from his grasp to finish getting dressed.

Simeon growled under his breath. “Who the hell would call at this hour?” He picked up the phone from his nightstand and put it to his ear. “What?”

His alarm clock told me it was just past one a.m. It was probably one of his girlfriends craving a booty call. Who was he kidding? He couldn’t possibly be in love with me. Even if there was only a small percentage of demon in him, I was sure it would be enough to give him a substantial libido.

It must be lust. And the fact that I was forbidden territory must tempt his evil side.

“It’s for you.” His gruff voice grabbed my attention, and I turned to see he’d lost the smile he’d had all evening. Actually, he looked pretty dang irate.

“Who is it?” I whispered, suddenly feeling like a teenager past curfew again.

  “Take a good guess.”

Judd. Wonderful. Why was he calling here?

Simeon handed me the phone and then dropped back onto the bed, resting his hands behind his head to watch the show.

My cheeks flamed from the obvious scrutiny. Was he taking more notes to put into my “file”?

I took a calming breath and answered. “Hello?”

“Abby, thank God I found you.” Judd’s deep voice filtered into her ear. “You weren’t answering your phone again. What are you doing over there? Fuck. Never mind. Don’t answer that.”

“Judd, why are you calling me? I’m an adult. I don’t need your constant supervision.”

That evoked a smile from Simeon. I swiveled on my heel to avoid seeing his face.

“Listen, Abigail,” Judd practically yelled into the phone. He never called me Abigail. “Go in another room so half-breed can’t hear me talk.”

“No. Just say what you have to say.” I wasn’t playing.

“Please. This is extremely important. You’ll understand once I explain.”

Curiosity got the best of me, and I put a finger up at Simeon to tell him I’d just be a moment.

He quickly got to his feet. “Stay. I’ll leave.” He grabbed his pants, planted an audible kiss on my lips, and left me alone in the room.

“Goddamnit, did he just kiss you?” Judd bellowed. He let out a few expletives, and then I heard something crash in the background.

I waited for his outburst to pass, only allowing a speck of guilt to eat at me. Judd had no claim on me, I reminded myself. A single kiss in the janitor’s closet didn’t make me his.

“Just tell me what’s going on, okay? He’s gone.”

“You’re lucky I don’t have time to drive over there and kick his fucking ass.”

“Oh, boy. Save the macho act for later, will you? And tell me what’s wrong.”

“We found a bug on Piper,” he said. “Felix thinks it might be a tracking device, so we’re evacuating Demon Control and closing down the public part of the garage. Most of the Angels are cooperating but MOG and Lois refuse to leave.”

“So what does this mean? You think the demons know where we’re located?”

“We can’t take any chances. They could eat us alive if they find our location. You know as well as I do we’re not equipped to handle a full-on attack, especially since we’re not allowed to carry firearms. Fucking pact.”

“This isn’t good, Judd. What are we going to do?” A new round of guilt hit me. How could I have been so stupid to allow this? I’d never even thought to check for a bug.

“I want you to go to the AOD center and hang with Eli. Get the hell away from that half-breed. He’s not safe.”

  “Don’t be ridiculous.”

“Abby, don’t you think it’s awfully suspicious that he told you where to find Piper and then helped you detain him just so Piper could bring a bug back to Demon Control? It was all a goddamned setup, I know it.”

I didn’t think he knew a damn thing, but I wasn’t going to waste time arguing. “I’ll be right there to help with MOG.”

“No. I don’t want you anywhere near here. Go to Eli’s.”

Like hell. I hung up and collected the rest of my clothes, yanking them on as fast as I could. This was my error, and I was going to make it right.

  Chapter Sixteen

The parking garage was eerily empty when I drove in. Most of the Angels had already evacuated as ordered. I knew they’d be assigned to room with another Angel at the Angel of Death or Guardian Angel center until this all cleared up. It was mandated in the Angels, Inc. Emergency Handbook. I remembered this detail only because I’d ingrained in my mind how awful it would be to share a room with a Guardian Angel. They were very protective of their property and did not like shar
ing.

Rooming with an Angel of Death wasn’t all that appealing either since they worked varying hours, and they loved to talk about their morbid tales of human fatalities. Eli had nauseated me on more than one occasion.

I parked in the spot closest to the elevators. Judd’s black truck and Lois’ sedan sat by themselves in the distance as well as one other car I didn’t recognize.

On the way up the elevator, I powered on my phone and called Judd.

“This is how you answer the phone,” he said instead of the polite hello. “It’s so simple an Ex-Angel can figure it out. Why can’t you?”

  “Don’t start. Where are you?”

“I’m in my apartment packing the essentials so they don’t get pilfered by demonic assholes.”

“Good idea. I’ll do the same. How are MOG and Lois?”

“MOG’s high again, therefore not too concerned about Demon Control being attacked or anything else for that matter, but Lois is working on her. They should be packing up right now.”

The elevator doors opened to the office, which was dark except for a few computers that were undoubtedly left on in the mad dash to vacate. I let the doors shut again and pressed the button for my apartment floor. A horrible feeling sank to the bottom of my belly .

I took a calming breath. “Peter Piper? Where is he?”

“You’re not going to like this.”

  “What? Where is he?”

“My guess would be he’s in Hell. Felix freaked when he saw the bug and deported him before I could stop him.”

I pinched the bridge of my nose. I never should’ve let Piper out of my sight. “Great. Did you happen to squeeze any info out of him before that happened?”

“The good news is I confiscated the bug before Piper was sucked back to Hell. I’ll send it to the Angel lab at the AOD center to see exactly what it is. If it’s not a tracking device, then Demon Control isn’t under any immediate danger, and we can all move back in.”

  “And the bad news?”

“The bad news is Piper is either very loyal to his leader or very frightened of him. He wouldn’t tell us anything.”

“Shit,” was all I could say.
