back here and no one has to be hurt,” Samuel says through clenched teeth. Victoria laughs at him,
shaking her head, tapping her chin with her finger.
“I won’t be leaving here without you. If I can’t have you then, that measly wolf can’t either,”
her eyes turning red and she turns to the other vampires, shouting out to kill Elizabeth and me but
to take Samuel alive.
Who the hell does this bitch think she is? Samuel is not hers, he’s mine… He’s my mate, not
hers. She thinks she’s going to get him; well she has another thing coming. She won’t make it out of here alive if I have anything to do with it. She shouts out the order to kill me and Caleb, but to take Samuel alive. My wolf is on high alert knowing she’s trying to take our mate from us, she won’t
succeed, and I’ll tire her apart before she gets the chance to touch him. Three vampires go after
Samuel and two more go after Caleb. Victoria’s standing there grinning at me before she shoots out
coming at me in full force, not giving me enough time to react she throws me into a large tree trunk ten feet away.
I shake my head, I slowly get up off the ground, whimpering, my body hurting from the force
of my body smacking the tree, when I get on my paws, she rushes me again but I jump out of the
way quick, snapping my canines at her, I catch her arm, she shrieks out in pain, she grabs the scruff of my neck, throwing me off.
“I’m going to destroy you little wolf,” she hisses out as she makes her way over to me.
Jumping away from her, I take off running in between trees trying to shake her, but it’s not working; she’s fast, really fast, she jumps out in front of me causing me to stop dead in my tracks.
She hisses and comes at me again, she kicks her leg out hitting the side of my head, I’m
stunned as I lay on the ground trying to catch my barring’s, she pins my head down and hisses loudly in my ear, “He’s mine,” with that being said she bites down on my neck, ripping the skin, causing me to howl out in pain.

She’s ripped off of me fast, my eyes heavy, turning my head a little, I see Samuel has her
pinned against a tree, her eyes wide while she stares at him in fear, he growls in her face, she closes her eyes, wincing from the tight hold he has on her neck.
“What the hell did you think I was going to do? Let you live after hurting my mate?” he
hisses out, she tries to protest, her voice coming out as a gurgle but he snaps her neck; and her
lifeless body hits the ground.
Caleb runs over to me in human form, naked as the day he was born, crouching down, “Oh
Elizabeth, Baby you’re going to be fine, you’re safe now.” Samuel picks me up running with me as
fast as he can go, Caleb shifts back to his wolf form faster than I’ve ever seen a wolf do before and takes off after us.
My eyes begin to get heavy, it’s taking everything in me to keep them open, Samuel looks
down at me, “My little gem, you have to keep your eyes opened. We’re almost at your parents’
house,” he pleads softly, whimpering in response because I just can’t. They’re so heavy. Then
everything goes black.

Chapter 13
I can’t believe what happened tonight, the nerve of Victoria coming here demanding me to
go back to the coven with her. How in the hell did Victoria find me? I told her way before I left to find my mate that we were never going to be together, she was just someone to kill the time with. I
guess she didn’t like being pushed aside. When Victoria pinned Elizabeth down my heart dropped
when she bit her, I know the Victoria would try to do some damage, the vampire’s that were holding
me back were no longer able to keep me detained.
When I heard Elizabeth howl in pain, something inside me snapped and I was on a mission to
destroy Victoria. She hurt my mate and she was going to pay. After snapping her neck with my bare
hands, and her lifeless body hitting the ground, I felt nothing, no guilt no sorrow, my body tight with tension, I run over to check on Elizabeth whose still in wolf form, it would be too much for her to
shift right now, I pick her up off the ground and take off towards her parents’ house. Once we got to her parents, her mother was ready to tear someone to shreds, she was fuming.
I got her upstairs to her room; Caleb grabs a huge blanket throwing it over the bed so I could
place Elizabeth down. She’s out cold not moving, not even making a sound. Caleb sits on the edge of the bed staring down at our mate; he tears his eyes away from her looking up at me.
“Is there any others that we have to worry about that would come after her?” I can tell he’s
worried, the tone in his voice giving it away.
“No, there’s no one else that I can think of that would try and hurt Elizabeth. Victoria was a
very jealous woman, she tried her hardest to get the council members to ban me from leaving the
coven to find my mate,” sighing I sit down in the chair near the bed. Caleb nods his head, mentioning he’ll be back after he cleans up and get some clothes.
I look down at my shirt and hands, I can see the vampire’s blood covering me, I need to get
cleaned up, I don’t want Elizabeth to wake up seeing me like this, walking over to the door, I call out for Elizabeth’s mother, I hear her footsteps as she runs up the stairs.
“Is she awake?” she asks, with a hopeful look in her eyes, shaking my head, she frowns and
looks behind me at Elizabeth.

“Caleb and I have to get cleaned up; we don’t want Elizabeth to see us like this. Is it possible
for you to stay in here with her in case she wakes up?” she nods placing her hand on my shoulder,
giving it a light squeeze when she passes me to get into the room.
Once I get outside, I run as fast as I can to the little house I’ve been renting for the past two
weeks, which is about five miles away. I need to be quick because I don’t want her to end up waking up and I’m not there. It takes me not even ten minutes to make it to the house, I open the door and run up to the bathroom, grabbing a towel from the cupboard throwing it on the hook beside the
shower, turning the shower on I jump in, washing myself fast then hopping out, drying the pebbles
of water off my body.
Entering my room, I grab clothes from my dresser and get dressed, then I head downstairs
to the kitchen, walking over to the fridge to get some blood, downing it as fast as I can, sighing after I’m finished, that’s just what I needed, the fight took a lot out of me.
I’ve been gone for fifteen minutes; I should head back, throwing the empty blood bag into
the garbage, I make my way out the door and off to Elizabeth’s.
When Samuel assured me that there would be no one else, it was like a breath of fresh air.
When that woman Victoria was on her, pinning her to the ground, my stomach dropped, I tried to
get to her but the vampire grabbed me and squeezed me so hard, that I’m sure he broke a rib, but
I’m not worried about me. I’m worried about Elizabeth at home in bed, trying to recover from her
attack, hopefully, her wounds aren’t too bad and her wolf can heal her.
She’s my mate, my world, I don’t know what I would do if she was lost to me forever. Just
thinking about it makes me angry, I’m glad that bitch is dead and she won’t be around to harm
Elizabeth ever again.
I can’t wait till her birthday, we’ll be fully mat
ed and then I’ll know when she’s in trouble
through our bond. Hopefully, she shifts and wakes up soon.
When I get home, my parents see how I look and ask me what happened. While telling
them, my mother gasps and tears start to fill her eyes while she holds onto my father. My father’s
eyes full of rage, knowing there was an attack on myself and Elizabeth. He was on the brink of
shifting till my mother calmed him down. I head upstairs and take a fast shower, and then I get

dressed. Now I’m on my way back to Elizabeth’s. I can’t blame Samuel for this, how was he to know
that his nut case of an ex would come back and try to kill our mate. The whole thing is fucked up.
Walking up the front steps, I’m about to knock on the door as it opens, her father standing
there with a sullen look on his face, he’s not sure what to do.
“Everything will be fine, Roman. I don’t think fate would be so cruel to Samuel and me, just
to find her and then take her away from us,” he nods but doesn’t say a word as he heads back to the
living room. I make my way upstairs, two steps at a time, once I get to her room, I see her mother
sitting there in the chair looking over at Elizabeth, with worry etched in her features.
She looks up giving me a sad smile; she gets up from the chair.
“Samuel just ran home quick to clean up and asked me to stay with her,” she mentions softly
as she turns checking on her daughter once more before leaving the room. Elizabeth’s breathing is
labored as she lay’s there, I just hope there’s no damaged when she shifts back. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself knowing I could have fought harder to save her from getting hurt; I should have
tried harder to get to her.
Twelve Hours Later…
Stretching my arms and legs out, groaning, I feel my bones crack. Blinking my eyes open, I
see the sun shining outside through my window, opening my eyes wide, I look around. I’m in my
room on my bed, was it all a bad dream? I see Caleb resting on the chair beside my bed, sleeping
peacefully, taking a peek under the covers, I’m naked. Caleb stir’s in the chair, opening his eyes with a little grin on his face, once he notices I’m fully awake he jumps up in the chair taking two steps towards me, he sits down on the bed grabbing me, hugging me tight to him.
“Oh thank God, you’re finally awake,” he whispers into my shoulder. He leans away from me
checking my neck and arms to see if there are any marks, he goes to check the rest of my body but I
stop him. He raises a brow in question, blushing I turn my head a little not to look directly at him.
“I’m naked under the covers,” my voice sounding so small.

“I just wanted to check you over, make sure you’re all healed. Samuel has been beating
himself up about all of this, he’ll be glad to know that you’re fine,” he says.
“Samuel really wanted to stay up here with you but he’s downstairs in the basement in the
cold room with a cot, your parents gave him. He’ll be thirsty when he gets up, so I’ll run to his place and get him some blood bags,” he adds. Nodding my head, he grabs my hand, “How are you
feeling?”
“I feel fine, my body aches just a little but besides that I can move my arms and legs. So not
too bad,” giving him a smile, letting him know I’m fine.
“What happened last night? After Victoria was killed? I don’t remember much,” I mention.
“You passed out after Samuel picked you up off the ground; you were in wolf form for about
six hours before you shifted back,” he must see the worry on my face, are the vampires are dead.
Caleb gives me a tender loving smile.
“All the vampires were taken care of. You’re safe Elizabeth,” tears spring to my eyes,
knowing I don’t have to worry about her or the others again. Caleb gives me a quick kiss before
getting up off the bed, heading out the door, maybe to let my parents know I’m up and fine, closing
my eyes, I sigh in relief.
Samuel show’s up after the sun goes down, it’s like the life in his eyes brightens when he
sees me. He doesn’t leave my side the remainder of the evening. Not that I’m complaining, but when
I have to use the washroom, it’s bad enough when you have two mates following you and waiting
outside the door.
We spent most of the night watching movies together. I was sitting in the middle of them
both on the couch and I can’t remember what time I fell asleep, with both mates with me, holding
me. I feel so safe in their arms.

Chapter 14
Two Days Later…
The past two days have been nice but at the same time it’s been nuts, my mates haven’t left
my side, ever since the attack, they’ve been glued to me and it felt like I was suffocating. I was
surprised they agreed to let me go shopping with my mother and Tori. I was thankful to get out of
the house, away from my over-protective mates just for a few hours, don’t get me wrong, I love
them for protecting me but it was becoming a little much.
I get into my mother’s car, she grins wide when she looks at me. Oh boy, what does she have
planned?
“Why are you grinning at me mom?” she giggles.
“We’re going to dress shopping,” she squeals out, clapping her hands together. My eyes
widen I look between her and Tori.
“Really Mom, I don’t need a fancy wedding dress. Any normal white dress will do,” I say,
ringing my hands together.
Shaking her head repeatedly, “No, I want you to have a proper wedding dress to wear at
your mating,” she snips.
I can’t believe that in two days I’ll be mated. It’s crazy to think that I came here not even
thinking about mates and boom, here I am, shopping for my wedding dress with my mother and
best friend, could it get any better than this? I’m secretly excited to try on some dresses. I’ve never really worn something so elegant as a wedding dress, or a prom dress. Never went to my prom,
didn’t really feel up to it, Tori wasn’t able to go because she and her parents went away on a trip, so I would’ve been there alone without my best friend, I don’t think I would’ve had a good time
without her.
My mother stops walking and gasps, “We’re here girls,” she says pointing to the big sign,
‘Wedding Belle's Boutique’. Butterflies are taking over my stomach right now as I stare at the huge
sign. My mother opens the front door; snapping her fingers at me, shaking my head, snapping out of
it. I make my way towards to door, where my mother and Tori are waiting patiently for me.

I step through the door, were cornered by a saleswoman, asking if we need help. My mother
shakes her head at the woman, “We’re just going to have a look around, thank you.”
The woman gives a tight smile and walks away, causing me and Tori to burst out laughing.
We walk down the aisles and aisles of wedding dresses, there are so many to choose from. I
don’t know how I’ll find one that I’ll fall in love with, in this sea of dresses. I’m stopped dead when my mother picks a dress off the rack and turns around holding it out to me, she has a huge smile on
her face.
“Oh, t
his dress is so beautiful, Elizabeth. I think this is one you’ll have to try on,” she smiles
looking at me then down to the dress. My eyes light up as I stare at it.
She isn’t wrong about the dress, it looks incredible. I’m itching to try it on and see how it
looks. It’s not your average long wedding dress, it’s shorter, would say around knee length. There
are little rhinestones on the bodice, with a heart shaped top, I just love it and I haven’t even tried it on yet. I’m positive the guys will be shocked when they see me in something like this; they’ve only
seen me in shorts and t-shirts really.
My mother smiles while holding the dress out for me to take, grabbing the hanger with the
gorgeous dress from her; I make my way towards the dressing rooms. I get into the room, hanging
the dress on the hook behind the door, silently squealing to myself, I start stripping out of my
clothes quickly, grabbing the dress off the hanger, setting it down near my legs, I step into it pulling it up to my body. It fits like a glove, my hands reaching behind me zipping the zipper up, closing my eyes, I turn around to face the mirror, taking a quick breath before opening them, I gasp at my
reflection, tears start to fill my eyes as I take in my appearance.
There’s a bang on the door, and I jump a little, “Hurry up Elizabeth, we want to see the
dress,” Tori shouts through the door, smiling at myself in the mirror, wiping the tears from the
corner of my eyes, I take the handle in my hand closing my eyes, taking a deep breath in and out,
twisting the handle I open my eyes and swing the door open. I walk out of the dressing room,
making my way towards my mother and Tori, who are sitting on the couch lost in conversation. My
mother’s eyes snap up and her mouth drops, her hand shooting to her mouth as her eyes widen,
while she looks me up and down, taking my appearance in. Tori looks at my mother puzzled then
looks up and gasps.
“Oh my God, Elizabeth… you look, beautiful sweetheart,” my mother’s voice cracks with
emotion, her eyes filling up with tears. She gets up from the couch making her way over to me,
