“Damn! I mean…DAMN.” Her face was beet red. Of course, we’d drawn the entire cafeteria’s attention again.
“You were supposed to see his stomach. There was a pic of his abs. Jee-zus!”
We both stared at each other for a second before bursting into giggles. Needless to say, I had to swear her to secrecy. Still, she goaded me for the rest of the day.
The first thing I heard was, “I’m surprised that you can sit after riding that beast.”
I gave her the meanest look that I could muster and hissed, “Okay. You had your fun. Enough.”
“I’m sure it was more than enough.” I glared at her and she laughed out, “Oh, I’m just starting.”
“Zoe!” I hissed, “Don’t you dare tell anyone about his size.”
She turned into Miss Innocence, “Who? What are you talking about?”
I had a bad feeling about this. We left the cafeteria and went to our separate floors. Since I had regular patients that most of the ER staff knew, I grew more nervous as I took the elevator down to my floor.
I called William, but I couldn’t be mad at him. After all, I’d never had a guy send me naughty pics before. Secretly, I was thrilled that he’d sent them. Still, Zoe seeing them embarrassed the crap out of me.
I chastised him, but it was more of a playful purr with no conviction whatsoever. “You can’t send me stuff like that, William. What if someone else was to pick up my phone?”
Like Zoe! I thought.
“I apologize for sending them, love. It just felt so…American. Did you like them?” Amusement laced his voice.
I rolled my eyes but laughed nonetheless. “They were very…hot,” I said while fanning my face, and then added, “I have to go now. See you tonight.”
“Don’t you forget your promise.”
I barked a laugh and told him, “Never.”
Especially now that I have a picture of your cock stored on cell phone.
We ended the call and I stepped from the elevator, ready for the day to begin so I could get back home to William. The patients started appearing as normal and everything went smoothly…at first.
After about an hour, a patient appeared with something wrapped in butcher paper that had my name marked on it. Baffled, I opened it to find a long fat length of sausage.
“The pretty blonde in the ER named Zoe told me to give that to you.”
Luckily, the patient looked clueless. I thanked him and told my staff to pardon me for a moment. Then, I raced down to the ER only to have Zoe whiz past me with a wide grin.
“Sorry. Can’t talk now. Too busy,” she called out. At the same time, she was pulling a face shield down.
I shot her a look that should have melted the plastic protective shield to her face. On the way back up to my floor, I thought about how to get her back. Should I invite William to share lunch with us? Maybe talk a certain cook into preparing that sausage? With a wide grin, I sent a text to William asking him to join us and to make sure he stopped by the ER to grab Zoe on the way up. Of course, I didn’t tell him that Zoe had seen his picture. He texted back that he would love to join us.
Next, I called the cook that I knew really well and told her that I wanted to create a special meal for Zoe. Without giving her too many details, I outlined what I wanted. She told me no problem.
I couldn’t wait to see Zoe’s face. I spotted an aide and asked her to take the butcher-wrapped sausage up to the cafeteria and hand it over to my cook.
I expected more pranks throughout the day, but nothing happened. I relaxed when lunchtime approached.
A few minutes before our scheduled lunch, I spotted a very flustered Zoe walking beside William. He shot me a baffled look. Zoe was shooting daggers. I bit my lip to keep from laughing.
Linking my arm through William’s, I confidently asked, “Everyone ready for lunch?”
“I’ll be right there. I have to go to the restroom,” Zoe informed us.
I knew she planned to slip away. I nodded and, when she headed toward the restrooms, I told William to wait for me. He asked if everything was okay so I told him, “Yeah. Zoe pulled a prank on me so I’m getting her back. She’s trying to run, though.”
He grinned and nodded, appearing excited to watch whatever I had planned unfold. I hurried to the restrooms and caught Zoe before she could dart away.
“I cannot believe you asked him to join us for lunch after I saw his…his—holy shit! Have you lost your freaking mind!?” She hissed at me.
“Karma will sure blister your ass, won’t it?” I hissed right back at her.
Her eyebrow raised as her jaw jutted out. She gave me the meanest look she could muster and asked, “How do you expect me to sit with him and eat?”
“Just forget you saw it. Simple as that. I mean, you’re an ER nurse. You see naked people all day, every day.”
“That’s different!”
I almost laughed at her outraged expression, especially knowing what was yet to come. Instead, I urged her, “Oh, come on. You were the one asking me about…him.”
She took a deep breath and peeked around the corner at him before telling me, “Yeah, but I didn’t expect for you to show me a picture of…” She blushed furiously.
I pulled the picture of his happy trail up and showed it to her. “This is what he sent first. I didn’t even know he sent the other one until you saw it. Now, let’s go eat.” I started giggling and almost warned her about the sausage. To keep my secret, I bit my lip. She huffed a bit before finally giving in.
We walked back to William, who had been patiently waiting by the bank of elevators. We didn’t say anything on the way up to the cafeteria. When we arrived at the seventh floor, I spotted the cook immediately. She nodded to me.
Judging by the uncomfortable look on Zoe’s face, I decided to cancel the rest of my prank. I told them that I would be right back and then headed toward the cook. She handed me the carryout carton containing the sausage. I thanked her and turned back to find Zoe in line to get her food.
I showed William the sausage dish and asked, “Do you want to eat this with me? I had the cook prepare it.”
“Sure. I’ll give it a try.”
We found a table near the windows and started eating the sausage dish I had intended for Zoe. She joined us again and spotted what we were eating. I pointed to a bite and nodded, “This is very good. You should compliment your butcher. Would you like a bite of my meat?”
She rolled her eyes at me and dug into her own food, blushing madly. Even though I hadn’t followed through with the entire payback, I was satisfied that she’d gotten the message. After we ate and William left, she asked me, “You had the cook prepare that for me, didn’t you?”
“I sure did. You were less than thrilled to see William so I didn’t want to rub it in your face too much.”
“Jee-zus, seeing him was embarrassing. Okay! You win. No more pranks.”
We went back to work. The remainder of the day went smoothly. I was ecstatic when I was finally able to get back home. William, already nude and lounging on my sofa, was happy to see me, too. I shed my scrubs and made good on my promise right away.
Over the next week and a half, we were inseparable. Well, besides work and his traveling. He was called away over a weekend and then again after the week and a half. I missed him like crazy. He was gone for four days.
When he returned, he told me that he was going to have to travel again after two days. This time, he’d be gone for a week. Since I had managed to get two days in a row off, we stayed in the apartment. Hell, we rarely left the bed.
I already knew he was insatiable in the sack. We ordered pizza and experimented with eating it off each other. I didn’t like the feel of food on me, but he thoroughly enjoyed me licking pizza sauce off his cock.
After we’d almost completely wrecked my bedroom, he told me, “Do not move. I will be right back.”
“Where are you going?”
“To get dessert,” he responded with a huge g
rin.
I snuggled down in the bed and waited for him. He returned within twenty minutes, carrying two bags loaded down with a variety of syrups, ice cream, and whipped cream. I giggled so hard that I fell off my bed.
After putting the ice cream in the freezer, he asked if I had a spare sheet to throw down on the bed. I pulled one out of my closet so that we could spread it out.
I really didn’t want to spoil his fun, but the thought of gooey, sticky, and sugary stuff on my skin wasn’t exactly pleasant. Because of my reluctance, I grabbed the chocolate syrup and pushed him down the covering.
“You first.”
Oh, he looked too thrilled with that. I teased him by squirting a dab on his cock and then smearing it down his shaft with my finger. Instead of licking it off his cock, I sucked the chocolate off my finger and then dragged my finger down his cock again while purring, “Should I do it this way?”
“You’re just a big tease, you know that?”
I grinned and shook the can of whipped cream. He swiped the bottle of chocolate and squeezed a bit on his finger. After dabbing it onto my nipple, he licked his lips and wiggled his eyebrows at me. I wasn’t expecting him to squirt chocolate across my breasts.
The syrup splattered across me in a squiggly mess. I gasped and stopped shaking the can. Before I could even think of what to do, he pushed me down and started licking it off. The can of whipped topping rolled off the bed and across the floor. I giggled when he lifted his face up and looked at me.
“Brown noser,” I playfully accused.
“Damn right. Now, for the whipped cream.”
When he went to grab the can, I picked up the chocolate syrup and splatted some on his ass. He stuck his ass in my face and said, “Now, lick it off.”
I slapped it and laughed. He squirted whipped cream on his cock. I couldn’t resist. The minute my tongue lapped at the cream, the topping melted all over his cock and balls. I thought he was going to explode when I chased the cream downward.
He groaned so loud that I was sure all my neighbors heard us. We made a royal mess, but we had a blast. Even though I’d had some misgivings at first, I was the messiest.
I’m sure I had chocolate and strawberry syrup in every crease and crevice of my body. We hit the shower afterward. Even though we’d made slow love with all the sugary mess, he fired my blood again in the shower. I wasn’t a huge fan of shower sex but, with William, I would try anything.
Afterward, we tossed the soiled sheet and curled up on the bed. I spotted the light on his phone, signaling that he’d just received a text or missed a call, but I was too content and didn’t want him getting up. He flicked the TV on and yawned loudly.
I grinned, knowing that I’d worn him out. I was pretty worn out, too. In less than ten minutes, he was snoring. I heard my phone ring so I scrambled off the bed to get my purse. It was my father.
We chatted for a little while. I wanted to tell him about William but held back on that bit of information. Since neither of us openly spoke words of love, other than him calling me ‘love’, I didn’t want to rush things. I wanted to be certain that he was The One. Besides, my dad could be pretty intimidating. He was ex-military. I was trying to drum up the courage to ask William if he would like to meet my parents. To me, that was a big step.
When I hung up from my father, I went back to the bedroom. While climbing back onto the bed, I accidently knocked William’s phone off the bedside table. It lit up to show the woman from the photo staring back at me. I didn’t look at the text or anything, but I picked it up and studied her face.
Frowning, I thought about William’s attitude when he’d briefly spoken about the pretty, poised woman in the photo, and wondered if it was some family emergency. Hadn’t he said that he and his sister had had a falling out?
I shook his shoulder and said, “William, your sister called you. Don’t you…?”
He jerked and snatched the phone out of my hand. I jumped a mile and yelped. He asked in an angry tone, “Why are you going through my stuff? Leave my stuff alone.”
We’d never had an argument. For that matter, I’d never seen him angry. I snapped back, “I wasn’t. I accidently knocked your phone off. And, I was just worried that…”
“Don’t lie. I don’t go through your belongings, Susan. That’s rude. You Americans! Sometimes, I just…”
“I’m not lying! How dare you!”
He wasn’t even listening to me. He growled, “Bullocks! Why did you have to go through my stuff?”
“Your phone was like that when I picked it up from the floor,” I shot back.
“Susan…!” He stopped and stared at me for a second before shaking his head in disgust and leaving the room. I was hurt, but I was more angry than anything. I didn’t bother to stop him when he pulled his clothes on and prepared to leave. My thoughts about asking him to meet my parents went poof.
He glanced back at me and shook his head again as if I thoroughly disgusted him. I almost told him to fuck off right then. I just glared at him. Maybe he wasn’t The One after all.
When I heard the door shut, I growled, “Well, shit!”
There were no texts or calls between us that night. I barely slept at all. Over the next couple of days, I was a grump at work.
I told Zoe about it, but she just shrugged it off. “All couples fight. I’m surprised it didn’t happen before now. Have you asked him why he spazzed out over you looking at his phone?”
“We haven’t talked since. He said he was fighting with his sister. I don’t know what’s up with that, but I wasn’t snooping or lying to him.”
Zoe nodded, but she looked distracted so I dropped it. When I got off work, I couldn’t take it any longer. I texted a hi to him.
When I didn’t receive a response, I bit my lip and drove home. I had already cried more times that I’d liked, and I broke down again after I slipped into my apartment. I was about to swear off men when he texted me back I’m sorry.
While I was staring at my phone, it rang. I quickly answered the call, knowing it was William. He told me that he was a little quick to anger regarding his phone. He also explained that was why his sister and him were currently arguing. She was nosy, always going through his stuff, and always asking questions that she had no right to ask.
I could understand that even though I was an only child. Still, I was hurt that he’d thought I’d lied to him and accused me of being rude. I think both of us knew at that point that we needed to slow it down.
He told me that he wasn’t in Portland, but didn’t tell me where he was. I didn’t ask either. I was satisfied that we’d made contact again. I missed him horribly but, at the same time, knew we needed this time apart. I needed to think things over.
He asked if he could see me when he got back. I told him of course but said that we needed to have a talk. I was met with such a stretch of silence that I thought we’d lost the call. He finally gave me a positive answer.
Regardless, I felt a lot better after the call. I went and showered before I headed out to get dinner. I kept thinking about introducing him to my parents. Was that the next step? Then, I reminded myself to slow down againI really missed William, too. Was I in love or just lonely and settling for him? I always thought it was the stress of a relationship when people claimed lack of appetite or sleep loss as symptoms of being in love. Yet, I’d had trouble sleeping since our argument. When he’d stayed with me, I’d slept soundly.
And my appetite wasn’t like it used to be. I was on birth control and had no symptoms of pregnancy, so I knew it wasn’t that. Besides, I’d had my period last week.
I called Zoe and asked her, “How did you know Brian was The One?”
“Because we couldn’t stay separated. We finished each other’s sentences. There wasn’t a day that we didn’t talk to each other.”
“Yeah, but did you argue at all?” I asked her.
“Of course, Susan. Every couple argues. With Brian and I, we couldn’t let bad vibes hang between us.
Did something happen?”
“Yeah. We just talked. He said his sister is really nosy. That’s why he went off. He’s out of town. When I told him we needed to talk, he became all quiet. I hate feeling like this.”
“Do you want to come over to our place and watch a movie or something?” She asked.
“No. Nothing personal, but being around a couple right now would make feel worse.”
“I understand. Call me if you want to talk, okay?”
I told her that I would, and we ended the call. I drove home with my takeout dinner. By that time, I was no longer hungry. I stowed it in the fridge and spotted the leftover ice cream. I dug in, eating it straight out of the container until the tub was empty. Then, I started cleaning. I didn’t stop until my place was spotless.
By the time William returned to Portland, we had gotten back to speaking to each other every day. Things were returning to normal, but I was still a little leery. When we saw each other, we hugged for what seemed like forever.
“I’ve missed you, love.”
“I missed you too, William,” I honestly told him.
“Can we forgive and forget that I lost my mind that night?” He asked me.
I smiled and nodded. Even though I wanted to slow down, I couldn’t stop myself from asking, “Stay over at my place tonight?”
A huge grin spread over his face as he nodded, “I would love to.”
His extra toothbrush and bathroom accessories were still at my place. We ate our dinner and went back to my place. That night, we were just content to cuddle. I knew he wanted to make love and so did I. But, I resisted the temptation because I really wanted to slow things down.
Over the next week, we took it slow but, by Friday, we were having sex again and everything was back to our previous version of normal. I didn’t touch anything of his, though.
When my mother called again, wondering when I was going to visit, I started to think about asking William again to meet them. I told her I would visit the following weekend. Then, I brought the subject up to William.
“So, my parents live in Eugene. How do you feel about joining me this weekend for a visit?”
