“Clean, Princess. Please? I can…”
“No, don’t fucking stop,” I demand. “Right there, Mike, right there.”
“So goddamn wet,” he moans, pressing his forehead to mine as he takes a deep breath, keeping his dick deep within me.
“Don’t. Fucking. Stop.” I yell, kicking his ass as I try to get enough traction to keep going.
“Ahhh, see now, I love that temper,” he smiles down at me. “But there you go assaulting me again.”
I’m about ready to smack him, but keep my mouth shut and move my fingers down to play with clit; trying to ignore his little power play.
“Don’t be like that, Princess,” his face lights up as he rolls us over. “Bring us both home?”
Reaching up to brace myself on his pecs, I start swiveling my hips slowly until he moves his hands up to cradle my breasts. I arch up, nearly fully off his length before he starts rolling my nipples in between his thumbs and forefingers. Gently tugging me down to him, I give in, unable to hold back.
Bouncing up and down, loving the way his curved cock hits me so perfectly, I throw my head back and squeeze him tight inside of me as I ride him.
“Princess,” he yells, grabbing my hips as I feel his release inside of me. My man isn’t done since he knows I’m not. Growling he shifts one hand over to massage my clit as his thrusts become more and more shallow. Reaching for my nipples, I pick up where he left off, knowing that’ll get me…yessssss. There. “Tabby!” Mike cries out and I feel his dick start to come back to life as he watches me.
I hardly know what’s happening but suddenly I’m on my hands and knees as Mike’s second wind has come out of nowhere.
Reaching down to pull my body into his, I reach out to support myself on the headboard as he pulls my body against his chest. “That thing you do, Tabitha. Your sweet, tight pussy - massaging, gripping my dick like that…I know where I belong now. No doubt.”
My orgasm continues and even as it tapers off, I’m begging for mercy.
He has none.

Whether she knows it or not this woman owns me now.
No matter where I’ve lived, it has been years since I felt like I was home and never the way it feels when she smiles at me, nor when she shatters around me.
I’ll have to go without her for most of the next five days, but fuck if she won’t feel me deep in her core.
Chapter 16
Michaels
My Princess falls asleep shortly after I came the second time, she barely stayed awake long enough to use the bathroom.
Holding her, I grin to myself, thinking of Mrs. Riley’s words. That leads to darker thoughts, however. Like how in the hell she would have hair available for a DNA comparison to the infant?
Slowly disengaging myself from Tabby, I locate my phone and call a man I know I can trust.
“Let’s talk in person,” he immediately says as he answers on the second ring. “Your place?”
“Twenty minutes,” I respond.
Checking back in on Tabby while I collect my clothes, I smile as she says random words in her sleep. My woman always has something to say.
“I love you,” I whisper into the darkness, trying on the words for size. For the longest time, those words have been reserved for one person, but I can get used to saying them to Tabby.
Heading up to my cabin, I’m not surprised to see Rogers in my drive when I pull in.
“Whose hair sample did I send off today?” I ask by way of greeting.
“Riley Sorenson’s.” he watches my face for my reaction, but given I had guessed the answer earlier he just nods.
“And the boy? He would have been Riley’s half-brother?” Rogers nods again.
“What does Riley’s mother think about her husband running around on her?” I ask, trying to narrow down suspects.
“She has a couple little problems of her own,” he smirks at me. “We don’t feel she was aware of this or the other pregnancies.”
“The others?”
“The other women understood the score. They took their payouts and got abortions. Ms. Taylor was a law student and thought she was in love. She never had a chance against Maddock.”
“How far up does this go, Rogers?” my fists are clenched at the danger that Tabby and the obstetrics nurse must be in.
“Not as high as you’re worried about. Bill has always covered his tracks, using people like Addison.” He takes a deep breath. “I came out tonight to ask for a favor, myself.”
“Of course,” I narrow my eyes. It must be serious if he’s asking for anything.
“I want a patrol car parked in front of Mrs. Riley’s when I’m with my family and in front of my house when I’m at Mrs. R’s.” he pauses again. “I’d prefer Smith, and Angelo when Smith is off. I would suggest you put Jake and Connal on alert while you’re out of town.”
“I will.”
“I’m pissed you told Flint about my background, but not enough not to warn you. You now have two weak spots and can’t be in both places. Maddock will wait for one to be vulnerable and strike, for no other reason than to distract you.”
“Does Riley know any of this?”
“I’ve only just convinced Mrs. R to discuss it with her. Gunner and Riley will be coming to an early dinner on Friday. We expect the results before then, Sheriff.” Rogers waits until I confirm this before he gets back in his car.
A thousand thoughts run through my mind as I watch him pull out, I finally shake my head and go inside to pack a bag. Completing that task, I set all my security monitors to the most sensitive levels before I drive back to town.
Walking into the station, I nod at Jessa before calling out for Angelo. Explaining his assignment for the immediate future, I send emails with instructions off to Jessa and Ellie before admitting to myself I’m too tired to drive. Lying down on my couch I set an alarm to go off in an hour.
Missing my alarm entirely, it’s Jessa’s hand shaking me awake that gets me moving a couple hours later.
I leave a message for Tabby before heading to the shower stalls in the back of the station. Not hearing back from her I call her office to find out she’s in with patients all morning. I’m pissed I won’t get to see her before heading out but I need to leave time for rush-hour traffic in Boise.
Tabitha
Waking up the next morning, I can barely lift my head. My whole body is deliciously sore, from the spot on my neck that Mike likes to nibble down to my calves. I tentatively contract the walls of my vagina and, yes, I can still feel him there, too.
Sticking my head up, I don’t hear him in the bathroom so I grab a robe and head out to where he’s hopefully making coffee for us. When I don’t find a trace of him, I peek out the window and his truck is gone. What the everlasting hell?
He’s going to get an earful over this!
Shrugging, I get ready for what will be a full day at the hospital.

“Heard you been spending time with the Sheriff?” One of the other doctors asks me as I’m scrubbing in for a birth. The nurses and staff around us all stop their conversations.
I shrug. Not ready for this conversation with near strangers.
“Big plans for the weekend?” he tries next.
“No, I have a few C-sections scheduled plus he’s in Boise,” I respond and one of the nurses giggles while the other one flat out snorts at that news.
“Oh, well.” Is his comment and suddenly my stomach feels hollow, taking in everyone’s response.
I don’t have time for this nonsense though, so I head into the delivery room and push their reactions aside.
Hours later, I’m taking a break and flipping through my messages when Tanya sits down next to me.
“Doctor, that was the best trip to Utah I EVER had!” she smiles at me. It doesn’t take more than a glance at the twinkle in her eye to realize that Tanya hooked up.
“Oh, God, I don’t want to know.”
“Vice. I mean, I did
n’t think much when I first saw him but does that man know how to use what he’s packing!”
“Tanya, I don’t think he’s a relationship type of…”
“Shit, I know that, Doctor. I’m just going to consider it a nice break from reality and trust me, he had all the condoms we needed.” She blushes again. “The tests should be done by Thursday. Your Sheriff’s buddy is speeding them through the lab down there.” My eyebrow lifts up at how she labels Mike. “Come on! I saw how you two were together. I bet he stops all those weekends in Boise…”
“’Weekends in Boise’?” I ask, hiding my face as I take a sip of coffee.
“Well, he doesn’t hook up anywhere near here – except for you now – so everyone has a guess. From him being a DOM at an underground BDSM Club to him banging the Governor’s wife. Of course, Ted and Joe who own the hardware store? They’ve decided he’s in the closet and has a boyfriend in Boise, I think that’s wishful thinking on their part though…” she prattles on and I feel my lunch slowly creep back up. “Aww, honey, I’m just being silly. No one takes all the gossip about him that seriously.”
At least, no one who had unprotected sex with a practical stranger right before he headed off to his ‘hunting grounds’, screams some long dormant, puritanical voice inside my head.
“He’s in Boise until Monday,” I reply quietly, proud that there aren’t any tears in my eyes.
Her lips form an ‘O’ and I excuse myself, cursing the fact the nurses from earlier have probably spread this to half the hospital by now.
That the Sheriff fucked the overweight newcomer then went right back to his, his…whatever in Boise. I head to my office, hoping for some peace before my next appointments. I can’t even do my Kegels now without feeling him.
My secretary is just heading out as I’m entering, so I’m thankful no one will interfere with my pity party. “Oh, Dr. Forsythe! Sheriff called for you and you left your phone on your desk earlier, I set it to charge.”
“Thank you, Kate,” I nod as I walk past.
Still cursing my pathetic-ness, I check the message he left me. His apology for leaving during the night soothes me enough to text him.
Is now a good time to talk?
Michaels: No. Will call tonight or tomorrow.
Well, fuck this. And that’s when I realize, I had only thought to ask if he was sleeping with anyone else in town. It hadn’t occurred to me I needed to cover the whole flipping state.
Three days later, I look down at my phone to see he’s finally calling me back. I have patients to see too though, so I silence my phone; eliminating that distraction. Like getting pulled into a vortex of pain and suffering, the little voice in my head helpfully volunteers. Somehow, the voice that was acting like a slutty teenager around him has been mysteriously silent since Wednesday.
I smile to myself, thinking I could keep a whole host of psychiatrists employed.
Chapter 17
Michaels
Two shitty days of being questioned about my personal ties to the Grizzlies and handling of the evidence related to the accident and subsequent deaths afterwards. Everyone from the Lt. Governor to fucking Rod Addison look at me like they have me by my pubic hair.
The second night my former brother-in-law finally returns my call and at this point, I’m just waiting for more bad news. His request for dinner on Friday night surprises me but I agree to it. Always bending over backwards so he won’t try to cut me out of April’s life.
Friday morning shines a little brighter. I called in multiple IOUs to get the information I need processed at unheard of speed. I’m sitting looking at documentation that Riley Maddock-Sorenson is, as her grandmother suggested, the half-sister of child that died with Ashley Taylor. Plus Wrench has gotten me a statement from a friend of Ms. Taylor’s – everything adds up to Maddock threatening and possibly killing her.
I can finally start to smile, knowing some small bit of justice will be served on her behalf. Attaching the reports from the different labs plus my chain of evidence documentation, I compose an email and include every single cocksucker I have had to deal with the past forty-eight hours. I exclude Addison but CC the Governor for good measure. I stop short of hitting ‘send’ and pick up my phone instead.
“Sheriff, what news?” Roger asks by way of greeting.
“What you expected. I cannot hold the reports. They’re preparing to suspend me today. If I don’t release what I have…”
“Understood, thank you for the call. I’ll wake Mrs. Riley now. Godspeed, Sheriff.” He disconnects as suddenly as he picked up.
That handled, I send the email and leave the hotel, whistling Doctor My Eyes, as I head to what is supposed to be another day of getting reamed.
As I was hoping, I walk in to find the staff running around. A harried secretary points me towards some chairs. I take the seat across from Addison. From the look on his face, he’s just getting the message; so I sit there smirking at him until he finally looks up and notices me.
“So tell me, were you going to try to run against me or did Maddock have someone else lined up to do that?” I smile at him.
“I had no fucking idea, Michaels,” he shakes his head. “The accident…the hit and run…”
“Just catching up?”
“I want no part of this,” he slams his laptop closed.
“Don’t go erasing your files now, I’ll come after them and with your background, no Judge will believe you did it accidently,” I warn him and he gives me his assurance before walking out.
“Sheriff Michaels?” the secretary calls. “The Governor will be here in five minutes. He and the State’s Attorney thank you for your patience and would like you to meet them. Just this way, please?”
Well, seems my email rattled some cages.
I sit through another hour of questions from the State’s Attorney and although it’s less hostile than the previous two days, I’m hesitant to mention Mrs. Riley’s involvement.
“I want to ensure that Maddock no longer has the resources to tamper…”
“Sheriff, Maddock is being held for questioning and we can assure you that it will be an impartial investigation.” The Governor finally speaks up.
“So, you’re gonna feed me bullshit answers while witnesses are being hung out to dry?” I growl.
“Do not speak to me that way,” the Governor snaps back. “Neither myself nor anyone on my team had any inkling of…”
“Any inkling that he sent State Police to try to claim two bodies and all subsequent tissue samples? Where’s the oversight, other than hauling my ass in here for three days?” everyone falls silent and I know I overstepped.
“Leave the room,” the Governor turns to the others. After fussing for a moment, we’re left alone.
“We grew up together, Bill and I,” he starts. “I fucked up along the way but my good friend always had my back. When I was elected, I brought him further into my circle. After I was re-elected, I appointed Bill and Ann to positions that suited them. Then came the day that I disagreed with him.
“Suddenly, I was faced with recordings and documents that would destroy my parents, my wife, and my career.” He laughs bitterly. “This state, the people that voted for me, they mean do matter to me. Your email this morning? That was the first hope I’ve had in years. I’ll loan you deputies, Hell, you can pick them – protect those that need it but let’s bring that son of a bitch down.”
“And your career? Your family?” I question his sudden desire to do the right thing and then wait while he studies me.
“A mutual acquaintance of ours is collecting all copies as we speak. I’ve made a deal with a different Devil, but this time? That Devil wants to protect instead of destroy. It’s not perfect, but everything will be deleted in three years and I’ll get a ‘start over’.”
“You’re next election is in three years.” I cock my head at him in question.
“Between you and me? I won’t be running.” He smiles and suddenly looks ten years yo
unger than when he entered the room. “Now, you, Sheriff? It seems you have the backing to remain in your position as long as you want it. Or grasp for something more, considering who you’re dating.”
“I’m fine where I am,” I immediately respond, annoyed at him trying to bring up the Forsythe family.
He loudly chuckles as he gets up to leave, “The Sheriff, the Doctor, and the Biker Gang. Sounds like an episode of Sons of Anarchy, doesn’t it?”
I glare at him instead of telling him to fuck off.
Leaving the building, I call Tabby; annoyed at getting her voicemail but happy to hear her voice if only for a few seconds. I turn the volume on my ringer up, needing to nap before my dinner but wanting to hear the phone when she calls back.
She doesn’t.
Then I head out to the dinner with my brother-in-law to get even worse news.
My sister was pregnant and in the process of leaving her husband when she went into early labor. Due to complications, Michelle died giving birth to her daughter. I was only able to get to the hospital towards the end. My baby sister, who was the last of my immediate family, lived long enough to hold and name her child, April. It was hours until that bastard, Steve, showed his face.
I’ve driven between Rowansville and Boise thousands of time between then and now. Especially once April was diagnosed with Tay-Sachs disease. She seemed absolutely perfect until her fourth month. Steve’s mother was her primary caregiver but it was hard to deny what was in front of us by her fifth month. As her condition worsened, I’ve made damn sure to spend at least four days a month with her.
There were times Steve basically shook me down to pay the fees to the care center he placed her in once his mother died. The visits have gotten harder in the past four years, April has lived past all expectations.
I love her so much, and since her father remarried I’ve become the only constant in her life. The fact that I pay for her care center three or so months a year is the only reason he allows me to visit her. She and I are an ugly reminder of how fucked up he was, a dark stain on the hot-shot real estate agent persona he plays up now.
