A Dangerous Widow (Dangerous #1) Page 16

  Anything for a million…

  “What kind of an adventure?”

“Why don’t I grab a cab and show you?” he said. “I think you know what I have in mind—at least partly.”

  “I can’t just get in a cab with someone I don’t know.”

“I saw the expression on your face when you saw the size of my cock. You want it—I know you do. Many women do. So, it’s up to you. No names. Nothing more than a one-night-stand. What’s the harm?”

“First, let me touch it,” she said.

He parted his coat, and Jade had to bite down hard on her revulsion as she dipped her hand inside and grabbed it just as he’d asked her to.

  “It’s so thick,” she said.

  “It’ll split you open.”

“It’s the size of my wrist.” That was a lie, but it was part of the script, so she went there. “I’m not sure that I can handle something like that.”

Discreetly, he zipped up his pants, and moved in to kiss her. And as their lips met, she gave herself over to him as a whore would have. He then took her by the hand, went out onto the street, and hailed a cab in which they sped away into the night.

When they arrived at his apartment building at Park and Forty-Ninth Street, Jade noted the address as they left the cab and stepped toward the shimmering hi-rise. At the entrance, there was a doorman, who quickly tossed aside the cigarette he was smoking as they approached him and the gleaming glass doors.

With Everett’s hand firmly holding hers, they entered the building. Jade swept her handbag of secrets over her shoulder, and lowered her head so that her hair fell in her face as they breezed past the doorman and whatever security cameras were trained on them. One quick elevator ride later, they were in Everett’s expansive apartment.

His hunger for her was instant. With a swiftness that excited her if only because she knew what was to come, he removed her coat and tossed it and her handbag on the foyer’s floor. When his mouth met hers, his tongue probed so deeply into her mouth, Jade knew that she needed to match it with her own intensity. This was a job. She’d been here before—and soon, it would be over.

Touch as little as possible, she reminded herself. If there’s no choice, remember what you touched so you can wipe it down later.

  “The bedroom,” he said.

“I need my bag,” she said, breaking from his script. “To freshen up. Is there a master suite? I want to be ready for you…”

“Of course there is. But why aren’t you ready now?”

“You’ll see,” she said. “Maybe I have a few surprises up my sleeve for you. You know, to keep things interesting…”

He smiled when she said that and Jade, with a sense of relief, scooped up her handbag and followed him into the bedroom, where he turned on the lights—and then dimmed them.

“I want to take off your dress,” he said. “I want to see you naked.”

“And I want to see you naked. Because after seeing how big you are, I know that the rest of you is only going to be dessert.”

“You’re naked beneath the dress, aren’t you?”

And we’re back on script. “How did you know?”

“Because I know a whore when I see one.”

  “A whore?”

“A filthy whore. Isn’t that what you are?”

  “I don’t know what you’re talking about…”

“I think you do—otherwise, you wouldn’t have come here. Not that I have a problem with that. I love a good whore.” He nodded at her dress. “Let me take it off you.”

She dropped her handbag and tentatively lifted her arms. After he removed the dress, he enfolded her in his arms and started to suck on one of her nipples. Jade looked around the bedroom, which was enough to make her raise her eyebrows as she tossed back her head and let out a fake moan.

This was everything he’d promised her.

In the corner of the room was a leather sling anchored to the ceiling by shiny metal chains. Along the wall to her left was a board festooned with a various host of handcuffs, dildos, paddles, whips, ball-gags, leather masks, feathers, and the like.

Total perv, she thought. No wonder his wife wants him dead.

“Now, you,” she said. “I want to see you naked.”

“Freshen up first,” he said. “I’ll be naked when you return.”

The key to pulling this off as quickly as possible was to see if he wanted to be dominated. If he wasn’t open to that, then her evening would become a hell of a lot more complicated. Because, if he was a true dom, she’d have a fight on her hands. He was a big man—fit, not fat—and likely outweighed her by a good hundred pounds. If she wasn’t careful with him and she wasn’t on point, he could overpower her.

And that’s something she couldn’t allow to happen. The risks of something going wrong were too high.

So, don’t fuck it up, Jade…

She stood in front of the bathroom mirror, applied a fresh coat of lipstick, and then lifted her hair so it hung straight down her back. Satisfied with how she looked, she pulled a pair of handcuffs out of her handbag, and left the master bath with them concealed behind her back. When she entered the bedroom, she found him on the bed, and she saw that he was indeed naked. Flat on his back, with his cock throbbing hard against his stomach. After she tossed her handbag on the chair closest to the bed, she dangled the cuffs in front of him.

“I want to cuff you to the bed,” she said as she slinked over to him. “Are you open to that?”

That wasn’t part of the script, so he furrowed his brow at her.

“That’s not what I had in mind.”

“Then how can I change your mind?” she said as she laid her naked body on top of his. “Because I’m also into this.”

“But you’re not the one paying ten grand for it.”

She straddled him when he said that, and then slowly began thrusting her ass against his cock in such a way that it hugged it. “Please,” she said as she moved back and forth in an effort to wear down his resistance. “I want to lock your hands behind your head and have my way with you. You won’t forget it—or regret it. Because there are lots of things I want to do to you, and I’m certain that when I’m finished, you’ll carry them with you for the rest of your life. I’m that good. And frankly, after seeing you like this—I’m that horny. When I’m finished with you, I want you to do the same to me.”

“If I agree to this, you’re going to have to let me bend you over my knee and spank you. Because you should be spanked for suggesting something like this.”

“But how hard will you spank me?” she asked. “Hard enough to leave marks?”

“Oh, I’ll leave my share of them. And I plan on being rough with you, but I’ll only go as far with that as you want. When we met, you mentioned that we should have a safe word. So, what’s yours?”

  “Widow,” she said.

  “That’s your safe word?”

  “It is.”

  “You’re kinkier than I thought.”

“You have no idea. Now, let me cuff you to the bed.”

  “I don’t know…”

  Challenge him.

“After our talks, I was under the impression that you’d be man enough to also be on the receiving end of this. If I’m wrong about your intentions here tonight, tell me now and we can just part as friends. Because I want this to be fulfilling for each of us.”

  He looked incredulously at her.

  “You’ll leave?”

“From the moment I met you, Sam, I knew that I wanted to be with you—regardless of the money. In fact, tonight I’m not even going to take your money. I don’t want it because I sense a connection between us, and the money will just cheapen it. I’m here to have fun, because you do turn me on, and you’ve got a cock that’s so big, I can’t wait to take all of it.”

When she said that, she felt him stiffen and throb even harder against her.

She dangled the handcuffs in front o
f him again, and he seemed to make a decision. He smiled wryly at her and narrowed his eyes while he put his hands behind his head.

“All right,” he said. “But this better be good, because if it isn’t, I’ll make you pay for it later.”

“Oh, it’s going to be good,” she said. “You’re about to die and go to heaven.”

“Then get on with it. Because in two hours, I need to get back home to my wife.”

The bed was made for just this sort of thing—there were five cast iron bars that ran horizontally across the back of the headboard. After she kissed him on the lips, she leaned down so that he could take one of her nipples in his mouth as she fastened the cuffs to him and attached them to the top post, which was high enough to keep his hands above his head—and to also restrict his movement.

But there was more to accomplish before she could kill him, wasn’t there? She already knew how she was going to kill him—she’d figured that out when she saw the bevy of toys he had fastened to the wall at her left. But if his legs remained free, he’d still have too much power over her—he would still be able to kick at her and thrash beneath her. And if that happened, all of this could go to hell.

His wife had made it very clear to Jade—it was imperative that his death look like an accident—like a sexual deviant who had gone too far. In order to contain him as much as she could, Jade knew that she’d need to fasten his feet together so that, when he did buck against her in an effort to save his life, she’d still be able to restrain him.

Seductively, she slid off him, moved off the bed, and went to his wall of toys.

“Which should I use on you?” she said. “The feather? Maybe at some point. The ball gag? Absolutely, but not now. So, how about the whip? Don’t answer,” she said as she eyed the rope that was attached to the wall. “Because I already have my answer.”

She removed the whip, cracked it at him, and then reached for the rope that was hanging alongside it. Everett looked at the rope with concern as she carried both over to the bed.

“What do you plan to do with that?” he asked.

  “Tie up your ankles.”

  “Why?”

  “Do I need a reason?”

  “You do.”

“For fun. But don’t worry—I’ll only tie them loosely together. That said, before we go forward, I also need to know what your safe word is.”

  “Whore,” he said.

“Well, then. How about if I be just that for you?”

The heavy rope she held in her hands was made of a silky material that would leave no marks or abrasions. It was designed purely for sex play, but that didn’t mean that it couldn’t serve her needs. Before she slid the rope around his ankles, she flicked the whip lightly against his cock just enough for it to sting a bit. Everett responded to it with a groan, so Jade did it again before she covered his mouth with hers.

“I’m going to make you come without barely touching you,” she said.

  “I doubt that.”

  “You’ll see.”

  “Then prove me wrong.”

  “Lift your leg for me.”

  He hesitated.

  “Come on—lift it for me.”

  “Whore,” he said.

“Oh, please,” she said. “Really? So soon? I thought that you were into this…”

“This is our first time together.”

  “So what if it is?”

“I’m usually the one in control. I don’t want to be immobilized.”

“What do you think I’m going to do to you, Sam? Kill you? Come on. You’re talking like a pussy.”

“You know what?” he said. “This isn’t working for me. Take the handcuffs off me.”

“I’m afraid that I can’t do that,” she said. Swiftly, she snaked the rope beneath his ankles, made a loop around them, and tugged hard to make a knot that was so secure, he’d never be able to break free from it. He lifted his head from the pillow and looked down at her as she stepped off the bed.

  “What the fuck?” he said.

  “Feather or whip?” she said.

  “Neither.”

She looked behind her at his wall of sexual trinkets, and reached for the ball gag. “Then how about this?” she asked as she removed it from its hook.

  “Absolutely not.”

“You and I both know that with a restricted airflow, the orgasm I’m about to give you is only going to be that much more powerful. Have you ever experienced that before?”

  “I have.”

  “Did you enjoy it?”

He hesitated before he said, “I did. It was mind-blowing.”

“So, why not enjoy it again?”

  “Because I don’t know you.”

“Look, baby—relax,” she giggled. “This is all about having fun—and pushing each other to our limits. You wanted me for that reason. If I’ve somehow gotten this situation wrong, then—like I said before—I should just release you now and go home.”

  “No,” he said. “Don’t go.”

“Are you sure this time? Because this really is getting boring.”

“Put the ball gag on me.”

“I don’t know, Sam. I’m beginning to think that I’m dealing with an amateur.”

  That pissed him off.

  “I’m no amateur.”

  “You’re certainly acting like one.”

  “Put it on me.”

“This is your last chance to say no.”

  “Do it.”

“You’re going to be happy that I did,” she said as she snaked her way up his body and fastened the device tightly around his head and shoved the bright red ball deep into his mouth.

“First things first,” she said. “Right now, you can only breathe through your nose. I need to know for sure that you’re able to breathe before we go any further with this. This is a safety issue. Because I sure as hell won’t go any further with this if you can’t breathe.”

When she said that, a sense of relief and excitement came over his face, and he nodded that he was fine.

  And that’s when Jade acted.

To make sure that his death looked natural, she had to make it look as if this was a sex act gone wrong. And so she poised her body on top of his torso, gave him a final kiss on his forehead, and then said low into his ear, “You’re a freak, Sam. Your wife knows it—and she doesn’t approve.”

With brutal force, she pressed her left fist hard against his chest to hold him down, while she used her thumb and forefinger to clamp down on his nostrils. Unable to breathe, Sam Everett first looked at her in confusion—and then in horror as his face flushed bright red.

In an unexpected jolt of fear, horror, and surprise, he heaved and writhed beneath her while Jade rode him, her legs firmly pressed against his sides for support. He thrashed. He sputtered. She heard him start to gag. And then, unexpectedly, he lurched forward and smashed his forehead against hers, which sent her off the bed and reeling to the floor.

She checked her forehead for blood just as he started to wail a muffled cry for help that was so loud, it startled her—someone might hear him. In a rush, she flung her body on top of his again, slapped him hard across the face, pinched his nostrils again, and then held on tighter than she had before while making sure to keep her face far away from his.

Though he fought hard for his life, Jade fought harder to end it. She remained anchored on top of him—an anvil that wasn’t about to move.

“Do you want to know why my safe word is ‘widow,’ Sam?” she asked as his eyes started to bulge and roll toward the ceiling. “It’s because I’m an assassin. And because of men like you, I’ve left plenty of widows in my wake. I know, I know—you’re finally slipping away now. But here’s what your wife wants you to hear before you die. She hired me to kill you because just a few weeks ago she learned about this dirty little secret life of yours. And since she asked me to make your death look as if one of your sexual exploits had gone a bit too far, this is how you’re going to die. That way, she can co
llect your life insurance money—as well as the rest of your fortune.”

  * * *

When he was dead, Jade slid off him—and rushed to finish the rest of the job.

With Everett stone-cold still with the ball gag still in his mouth, she went into the bathroom, soaked one of the hand cloths, and then came back into the bedroom to wash her prints off his body. She knew that her DNA was all over him, but since she’d never once been caught during her many years as an assassin—or ever arrested for other crimes—the DNA would prove useless in any investigation.

After she’d wiped down everything she’d touched, she dressed quickly, and then pulled on her coat and reached for her handbag. She looked at him for a moment, and wondered how long it would take before someone found him.

When they start to smell him, she thought. That’s when.

And then it occurred to her—he might be dead, but he still owed her ten grand.

His pants were at the foot of the bed, and in one of the pockets, she found a thick wad of hundred-dollar bills secured with a rubber band.

She pocketed the money, and then left the room with her hair hanging slightly in her face, just in case there were any security cameras in the corridor.

When she exited the building, she ignored the doorman who held the door open for her and then set off down the street. She looked around for a cab and saw none, so she moved toward Park, where there would be plenty.

As she approached the thoroughfare, she noted an elderly homeless woman sitting with her back against one of the buildings to her right—her head was lowered, but the palm of her hand was outstretched.

Jade stopped beside her, removed the ten grand from her jacket pocket, and placed it into the woman’s hand.

“You need this more than I do,” she said when the woman looked up at her. “Use it wisely. Get off the street. Good luck.”

As she walked away, Jade heard the woman gasp and begin to thank her profusely. A moment later, she came upon a cab, snagged it, and slipped away into the night.
