THEIR LIES, OUR LIVES Page 12

They all wanted her. They all used her, and they all paid. They’ll all pay if they expect her to satisfy their quirks, their desires, and their need.

Drying off from her shower, Randi heard knocking at her door. She quickly wrapped a white terrycloth robe around her body. “I’m coming. Be there in a minute.” From the bathroom she sprinted to the door and suddenly stopped. She was afraid to believe that he was real and not her imagination. Randi was afraid to hope.

“You gonna make a guy stand here all night girl? I even brought the coffee. Surely that should get me bonus points.” He’d wanted to surprise her. He wanted to see her face light up in person. After a year of being away from her, he felt he was finally able and ready to completely give himself to her.

“Oh God, no…sorry….I can’t believe you’re really here.” She rushed over opened the door and wrapped her arms around Luke in a bear hug. “I can’t believe you’re really here. I know I said that already, but wow. I think I’m gonna cry.”

“Let me come in, put this coffee down and greet you properly.”

Backing up to let him inside her beach house Randi watched his every move. His body was fit and toned, and he smelled of citrus and spice. Oh how she’d missed him. This past year had been difficult. Separate and rebuilding their lives. But now here he was, in her home.

Once Luke had free hands, he immediately reached for Randi. As she stepped into his arms and he pulled her tightly against his body, instantly he knew. Without a doubt, she was his forever. “It was a long road for me to get here. I wanted you in my arms so many times. It drove me crazy not being able to see you, talk to you, and touch you.”

“Luke when I saw you at my door I knew you’d uncomplicated your life. I’ve wanted to believe you’d come to me, but I didn’t dare hope.” Tilting her head back she kissed his chin and longed for his kiss. He met her lips with his own and kissed her slow and deep.

Gently, Luke ended their kiss, and with both hands he held Randi’s face. His eyes locked with hers. “That night we kissed a year ago under the moon has played over and over again in my mind.”

  Randi whispered, “Me too.”

“I want that perfect moment every day, every week, every year for forever. Randi Shaw you are my forever. Right now, in this moment I am where I belong. The doorway to our future is here. Together.”

“Under the light of that full moon a year ago I hoped you were my forever Luke Timmons. But now, I know together we are forever.”
