“I don’t want you to leave me. Please take me with you.”

He was shaking his head before she finished. “I can’t think if you are in danger. Stay here and keep us both safe.”

“But I could help. Have you heard from Shadow?”

“You can’t get mixed up in club shit sweetheart. You don’t want to.”

“That’s crazy! I’m already mixed up in it. I caused it!” She couldn’t just sit and wait when everything was hinging on this. She had to help. She was no fool, she knew how club life worked and she was an outsider, and enemy even. She had to prove herself to the Defenders if she ever hoped to win Choo-Choo and keep him.

Choo-Choo pinched her chin and met her eyes. “Don’t even think of doing something stupid. I need to be able to trust you. I’m trusting you to keep your ass right here and stay safe for me.”

Josie knew she couldn’t do that, but she wouldn’t tell him. She also refused to lie to him, so instead of answering she kissed him. She poured all of herself into that kiss and it only took him a few seconds to give in.

“I don’t have time to make this good baby.” He panted as she reached for his belt.

  “It’s always good with you.”

She freed him and he groaned as she closed her hand around him. She started to turn around, but he stopped her.

  “Not that way.”

She could see in his eyes that he had talked to Sniper, that he knew, but instead of filling her with shame and pain, it filled her with something warm. He cared.

He sat on the edge of the bed with his pants around his ankles and pulled her to straddle him.

“I like to see your face when I’m inside you,” he said as he guided his thick shaft into her body. She was already wet for him, without trying. Her head fell back as he filled her with his delicious heat and she began to move. This time she didn’t want to rush, she wanted to savor him.

Choo-Choo would hear about this, but he couldn’t leave without satisfying her. He was in way over his head with Josie and he knew it, but he had never wanted anything so bad in his life. She tasted like sex and all woman and he wanted to hide her away so no one could take her from him. She pushed him to his back and he marveled at her beauty as she rode him.

Josie wasn’t a super model girl. She wasn’t so skinny you could see her bones like some of the club girls. She was curvy in all the right places. Her tits bounced as she rode his dick and he could fill his hands with the round globes of her ass just the way he liked it. She was softness to his hard and he couldn’t keep his hands off of her.

He ran his hands up her thighs to her perfectly rounded hips to help her set a faster pace and was rewarded with her moan. He felt the first flutterings of her orgasm as it built around him and he pulled her down harder until she was moaning loudly. He couldn’t even stop when his door opened and Valentine crossed his arms and leaned against the door frame along with Lawless and Lambhead.

“Think I’d be running late too.” Law said as he pulled his knife from its sheath and tapped it to his chin.

“Fuck. I want a piece of that.” Lamnhead made to step into the room, but Law stopped him with the blade to his throat.

“You can watch a man with his old lady, but you don’t take a turn unless asked and even then, it’s just a bad idea.”

“Choo-Choo’s got an old lady? Since when? ‘Cause Rena says…”

Law cut him off. “Rena can’t say shit anymore boy and questioning me will get your balls cut off. Get the fuck out of here, you just lost the right to watch.”

  Lambhead whined, but disappeared.

Choo-Choo met Valentine’s eyes and anger burned in his gut. He hated the man’s eyes on Josie, blood or no blood. Law caught his look and cut his eyes to Valentine.

“Think he’d rather that door stay closed until they get done. Gotta respect a brother’s privacy when he’s fucking his old lady.”

Law reached for the door, but Valentine reached to stop him. Blood bloomed over the sleeve of Valentine’s shirt and he drew back with a wince.

“Don’t ever fuck with me Valentine. I know what you are.” Law said as he shut the door.

Josie had ignored them. She had just closed her eyes and ignored them, but she had gone stiff. He would remember that and he would make sure they kept their fucking private.

As soon as the door closed she relaxed. Choo-Choo sat up and pulled her against his chest as he took over the rhythm of their strokes.

“Come on baby. Give it to me. Let me feel you before I leave.”

At his words she wrapped her arms around him and let out a sound that was a mixture of sob and moan and she detonated around him.

Choo-Choo pulled her down on top of him as she thrust into her a few more times before he spent himself in her pulsing heat. Nothing had ever felt so right.

She shivered in his arms as he held her.

“I’ll be back in a few days. I’ll call when I can. Please be here. I need to hear your voice to know you’re safe.”

He kissed her face and her hair, anything he could reach. She kissed him too. Her warm lips covered his chest in kisses.

“Promise.” She said between kisses. “Promise you’ll come back.”

When he didn’t she bit him, hard and he smacked her ass just as hard.

“I won’t make you a promise I’m not sure I can keep.” He lifted her lips to his and kissed her with all the longing he felt.

“If I’m breathing, I’ll come back. I can promise you that.”

Josie felt fear and joy all mixed up in her head. She wanted to beg him to stay, but she knew it would only hurt him. He had a duty, and obligation to his brothers and she refused to make him choose between her and his club. She would wait for him. She would give him all of herself that he was willing to take and she would love him even if it ripped her heart to shreds.

“I’ll take that.” She whispered as she sat up and climbed off the bed. “Give me five minutes to clean up and dress?”

He propped himself up on his elbows and nodded.

He was the most erotic sight she had ever seen. The tattoos that rode over his neck connected to those on his chest. The whole right side was covered in dark ink. There was a black hole of a train tunnel with tracks leading inside, but the tunnel burned with flames that licked his body. Smoke billowed from the destruction and in the flames and smoke was the outline of a Harleys as if they were made from the flames. It looked like they would drive straight from his chest, just over his heart and the word “Brotherhood” curled in the smoke. The smoke curled up his neck and ended just below his ear. The words “Live to Ride” were inked along the pulse that still beat hard for her. He was beautiful. There were other tattoos along his body, but none as spectacular as this one. She wanted to spend hours exploring the ink on his body, learning the stories behind them, but he sighed.

“Get to it Goldilocks. I gotta hit the road.”

He softened his words with a grin and a wink. “You have a lifetime to look at me.”

She laughed too, not because she wanted to or felt like it, but because he needed her to.

She rushed to clean up and pull on some clothes and was back in the bedroom before he left it.

He was fully dressed again, even wore his leather jacket over his black t-shirt.

“Come on baby. Let’s get this shit done so I can get back to you.”

He kissed her hard before he opened the bedroom door and led her down the stairs.

The living room was filled with big men, apparently they had decided to meet up at Granny P’s before following Shadow. Seemed out of the way to Josie, but she didn’t know everything so kept her mouth shut.

“Hey Choo-Choo, that really your old lady?” A man with unfortunate, white, curly hair asked from where he sat sprawled on the sofa.

“Yeah it is.” Choo-Choo answered without missing a beat, but he squeezed her hand and looked to her.

She couldn’t help the smile that broke her face as she nodded.
No, it wasn’t what she’d thought of when she’d determined to get on her feet, but she had hoped, someday, maybe. Choo-Choo wasn’t Eddie though, he would encourage and help her.

“Thought that was the one them Bastard assholes are looking for, but she’s Poole’s woman and he’s got a big reward out for her. Must be some damned good pussy for that kind of cash.”

Josie stiffened. “What did he say?”

“Shut the fuck up Lambhead.” Choo-Choo spat and Josie saw anger on his face, real fury.

  “What is he talking about?”

Choo-Choo turned to her and held her at arm’s length. “Listen, you don’t have to worry alright? We are going to take care of this shit. Nobody threatens our families. We are leaving Oscar here to help protect you and Granny. Sniper is on his way. If it looks like we need it we will pull some from the Denver chapter, but I’d rather keep this place as quiet as I can. You will be safe here. Trust me to keep you safe.”

Josie nodded. She did trust him, but was she bringing danger to GrannyP too?

“I’ll hang here for a few days.” Valentine spoke from where he’d been lounging against the wall. All eyes turned to him.

Josie got the distinct feeling that any man in the room would take pleasure in gutting the man, but they held back out of respect for Choo-Choo.

“Not sure that’s a great idea cousin.” Choo-Choo said with granite in his voice.

“Cut the shit Tony. She’s your girl, I get that. Yeah, I’d like to fuck her, but I won’t, ok. I won’t even if she crawls into my bed and begs me to.”

The smile that curled Valentine’s lips had Choo-Choo clenching his fists and taking a step toward him.

Granny P. stepped between them wearing a scowl so dark it rivaled the ones around the room.

“You two stop it right now. This is my house and Nicolas is welcome to stay if he behaves himself. Now it’s high time you put that piece of trash out of your heads. That was years ago and she was nothing but a skank. That woman would have crawled in my bed if she’d thought she could get anything out of it. I figure Anthony was lucky to escape her.” She cut her eyes to Valentine. “From what I’ve seen, she got plenty from Nicolas, but I doubt he claims that. Now, can we please put that to rest and let’s not let it happen again.” She turned to Choo-Choo and delivered a loud slap to his face as she plopped her fists on her hips. “If I ever hear you insult that girl the way you just did by even thinking she might possibly be anything like that sleazy whore I will crack you over the head myself.”

Josie’s eyes widened and there were several chuckles around the room.

Choo-Choo looked happy though. Something Granny P had said had made him very happy. His smile was bright as he rubbed his jaw and he bent and lifted Granny P in a big hug that had her clucking like and old hen. He kissed her wrinkled cheek and whispered thank you before he released her. She nodded and wiped her eyes on the apron she wore before patting his bulging bicep.

“Trust is a hard thing son. I know.”

He nodded and took a deep breath.

“Let’s get the hell out of here.”

The men stood with whoops as they pulled on leather jackets and gloves. Choo-Choo stepped to Josie again and pulled her in for a soul searing kiss that had her bare toes curling.

“Stay safe for me. I need you.”

She didn’t think. She just opened her mouth and let her heart do the talking. “I’ll be here waiting for you, always.”

She wanted to say she loved him, but it was too soon. She looked up and saw those same feelings mirrored in his eyes. He would come back and she would have the rest of her life to show him how she felt.

It almost destroyed her watching him go, but she put on a brave smile and waved. She stood with her toes almost frozen until they were out of sight and still she stood rooted to her spot on the porch. Warmth settled around her.

“Come back inside. You can’t do anything for him freezing out here.”

She looked up to find Valentine standing beside her, his eyes glued to the driveway where the men had just been. The look he wore around Choo-Choo had vanished. He was as hard and cold as ice in the Arctic.

  “Go inside Josie.”

A sick feeling settled in her stomach. He was a bounty hunter and there was a huge one, on her. She turned and rushed into the house. Valentine had hurt Choo-Choo for money and they were cousins. How could she expect him to be loyal to her? She rushed to her room only to stop when she saw someone lounging on the bed. He had blonde hair cropped close to his head and piercing blue eyes that looked colder than the Colorado sky outside the window. His black leather boots were propped on the bed. Josie frowned, but made no comment.

He must have noticed because he grinned and sat up to place his boots on the floor.

  “Can I help you?”

He narrowed his eyes. “Sure. Get your ass over here and suck my dick, I need to get on the road. Choo-Choo told me to wait for you.”

Josie hesitated for a second. Would he? The man watched her as if she were a specimen under a microscope.

She stiffened her spine. “He wouldn’t do that.”

The man shrugged as if it didn’t matter and pulled out his wallet. He laid three crisp hundred dollar bills on the quilt.

“Now get over here and I might let you have more than just by dick down your throat.”

Something snapped inside of Josie. She felt fury boil in her gut until it almost choked her.

“Get the fuck out of this house and take your money with you. I am Choo-Choo’s old lady and I deserve your respect!”

She was breathing hard and she knew if this man touched her she would tear him to pieces. How dare he. She wasn’t a whore!

Instead of getting angry, he stood with a half grin that made her want to slap him. He reached behind him and for an instant Josie thought he was reaching for a gun, but it was a long knife. He slipped it out of the black leather sheath and nodded to her before he tossed it on the bed. He gathered his money and took his time sliding it neatly into his wallet.

“Good girl. Hang onto that shit. Ball up that anger and hang onto it. You may need it and that.” He nodded toward the knife. “I’m not going to fill your head full of bullshit right now because that could get you killed. Keep that with you and stay on your toes. We think we got this shit covered, but we’ve been wrong before.”

  “But Choo-Choo…”

“Choo-Choo is feeling invincible. He’s in love and that shit clouds your head. Poole wants you bad and he’s been reaching out. You need to be ready to protect yourself.”

“So what was that shit about then.” She asked with narrowed eyes.

“Simple. I don’t waste my time on whores.” He nodded. “Glad you’re not one, but I had to check.”

  “Who are you?”

“I’m Lawless.” He pinched her chin and kissed her cheek before he stepped into the hall. “Stay safe now.”

He walked down the hall without another word and left Josie feeling unsettled. She walked to the bed and picked up the knife.

“What the hell am I supposed to do with this?”

  Thirteen

Choo-Choo tried to listen as plans were made, but his mind kept drifting back to Josie. Had he done the right thing leaving her behind? He knew there was far more danger than he’d had the heart to tell her, but Valentine was there… The thought wasn’t as comforting as he’d hoped it would be.

He ran his hands over the smooth skin of his head. He felt all out of sorts.

He felt a hard slap to the back and looked up to see Lawless wearing a grin that sent chills down his spine.

“You are a pussy. Good thing your old lady’s got balls enough for both of you.”

Choo-Choo let a grin slip. That was high praise from Lawless.

  “Glad you approve.”

Law nodded. “I do. Told me off when I told her to suck my dick. Got really pissed when I offered to pay her.” He nodded as if it proved something, but his words made Choo-C
hoo’s blood boil.

“You did what now?” He asked finding a calm he did not feel.

Law’s grin was as cold as ice. “Respect is hard to earn, brother. She’s got a whole hell of a lot to prove. That was the first step. If it hadn’t been me it would have been another brother. That shit needs testing. Loyalty needs testing.”

Choo-Choo clenched his teeth. It was too close to what Valentine had told him years ago to set well, but Josie had refused, that was something.

“Let’s get this shit done brother and you back to that wildcat.”

Choo-Choo nodded and followed Lawless as they walked to where Shadow would meet them. There wasn’t much cover so they had waited until dark, but the place seemed deserted.

“Where the fuck is everybody?” Preach spat in disgust as he took in the dilapidated buildings that made up the Bastard’s compound.

“There’s been little movement since I got here.” Shadow spoke in a low voice that was barely more than a breeze.

“Laying low or not here?” Preach asked. The worry in his face seemed to have aged him ten years since Mrs. had been taken.

“You said wait boss man, I waited.”

He pulled up satellite photos of the compound on a digital display screen.

“Spec sent these. I suspect they are holding Mrs. in the house Josie shared with Eddie.” He cut his eyes to Choo-Choo. “Thanks to her we have and internal layout of all the buildings she’d ever been in. They may not be exact, but they give us some idea of what to expect.” He pointed to the screen. “There has been regular activity around this area.”

He pointed to the cluster of trailers and small shacks. Eddie’s house sat at the edge of the cluster. There were only two real houses on the place and Eddie had one. At least Josie hadn’t had to live in one of those shacks.

“This don’t feel right.” Gator spat in the dry grass and frowned.

He was right. Something was definitely off. Choo-Choo watched his brothers shift. They felt it too.

Shadow broke the silence. “Sniper is on his way to Josie. Oscar said everything is quiet up there. Talked to Mike. Things are quiet there too.”
