"How convenient for you and her."
Before the monster said a word, I shot him in the hand. He moaned, managing to keep his voice down. He bent over and took a knee. "Please, don't do this. This isn't God's will!"
"Really? And raping me so many years ago was God's will?"
His eyes begged for mercy. "No, I have apologized about that."
This monster believed if he spoke some words that he would magically be granted a longer life. Or he just didn't see me as a threat to him.
Then, as if God herself, came down and laid hands on him. "It doesn't matter if you kill me. Jesus has forgiven me."
With anger filling me, I shot him in the other hand. He reared back, his face aglow with fright and pain.
Took out the butterfly knife. My hand danced in front of this face while the knife opened up, exposing the blade.
"No, please!" Jonathan held out his hands in front his face, moaning, standing up, attempting to leave through the door.
I tripped him.
The monster fell like big guys do, hard, and not easy. He landed on his face. At that moment, I did not want him to suffer, but I did need him to die.
Turning over, his bloody nose looked beautiful.
I aimed the barrel of my weapon at his head.
Jonathan Hyde whimpered, staring at me, his eyes pleading.
"I don't care if your god forgives; I don't forgive monsters," I said calmly, squeezing the trigger, the handgun coughing, the bullet entering his forehead. Another monster's life ended.
Did you enjoy the book? You can make a big difference.
Book reviews are the most powerful tools in my arsenal when it comes getting attention for my books.
Much as I'd like to, I don't have the financial muscle of a New York publisher. But I do have something much more powerful and effective than that, and it's something that those publishers would kill to get their hands on.
A committed and dependable group of readers.
Honest reviews of my books help bring them to the attention of other readers. If you've enjoyed this book I would be extremely grateful if you could spend just five minutes leaving a review (it can be as short as you like) on the book's page.
Thank you!
