Eden Page 16

by Joanna Nadin

Bea was right. There is a wide, wonderful world out there. A giant Eden.

And every day I am thankful to walk in it.

JOANNA NADIN has been thrice nominated for the title Queen of Teen for her bestselling Rachel Riley series. She is also the author of many award-winning books for younger children, as well as two compelling teen novels for Walker, Wonderland and Undertow. A former special adviser to the prime minister, she also freelances as a government speechwriter. She lives in Bath with her daughter, Millie.

About writing Eden, Joanna says: “Eden is about how place and people create us, and whether we can or should try to escape and lead other lives, even ones that don’t at first appear to be our own. But above all, it’s a love story; love for a house, a river, a boy, and a girl who shone brighter than I.”

  EDEN

“Breathtaking – one of the finest pieces of YA writing I’ve ever come across.” Anthony McGowan

“Lyrical, evocative, tense and utterly un-putdownable, Eden is a modern day Rebecca. One of the best books I have read in years.” Catherine Bruton

“I devoured Eden in hungry gulps, unable to put it down, just the way I read as a teenager! It’s thrilling, compulsive, beautifully written and powerful in its evocation of a person, and a place… A gripping story that will haunt the reader for a long time after the last page is turned.” Julia Green

“Heart-stopping, unsettling and utterly beautiful.” Liz Bankes

  Also by Joanna Nadin:

  UNDERTOW

“Billie Paradise is looking for a place to belong, and finds herself tangled up with the ghosts of the past… Beautifully written, emotionally powerful, a novel you won’t forget.” Cathy Cassidy

“A powerful and emotional read.” Bliss magazine

“A quiet and emotional mystery, this thoughtful novel will suit smart and sensitive readers.” School Library Journal

“This is a stirring, elegant, and winning effort for Nadin.” Booklist

“A very eloquently told tale of a family filled with deceitful secrets that have ruined many lives [ … Undertow] will appeal to a general young adult and adult audience looking for a great read.” VOYA
