She bit her lip. What did that mean? More than a few weeks? It made her belly flutter to think he might have considered having sex with her years ago. But it was also a welcome pleasant thought.
“I would ask if you like being taken from behind, but your pussy speaks volumes.”
She moaned, wiggling her ass back and forth slightly, willing him to press a finger into her. Her body was always so demanding when she was with him. And he rarely did the expected. He definitely was a man who kept her guessing.
His fingers left her lower lips, causing her to grit her teeth to keep from protesting. Next, she heard the distinct sound of a condom wrapper. Thank God. At least he didn’t intend to leave her hanging for an hour.
As he slid his hand from her back to her hip to hold her steady, he stroked through her folds with his cock. He’d never had sex with her without making her come first. She was looking forward to the experience, wondering how much stronger her orgasm might be if he was inside her during the first one.
Luckily, he didn’t leave her waiting long. He flicked the head of his cock over her clit a few times, lined it up with her pussy, and then slid slowly into her to the hilt.
She lifted her head, gasping. Nothing had ever felt so good. Nothing. The position made his cock rub more precisely against her G-spot, and the vulnerability of the position sent a shudder down her spine.
He didn’t pull out immediately. Instead, he reached around with one hand and circled her clit lazily. If he would only touch the sensitive bundle of nerves head on… But no way would she suggest such a thing. Colin was in charge, and he was a master at it. He had a plan.
Even though they’d only been intimate a handful of times during the course of a few weeks, she felt a connection between them that surpassed logic. They clicked. Surely most people went their entire lives without making a connection like this. She’d certainly never met another person who claimed to have sex this good or this often or this intimate.
She closed her eyes and endured the torturous touch, thanking God the stars had aligned to bring Colin to Colorado ten months after her and put him in her path when she most needed him.
The truth was if he’d ever propositioned her years ago, she probably wouldn’t have been ready for him. Not like this. Their chance could have been wasted. She never would have known this level of bliss.
He switched the direction of his circles, and then tapped her clit a few times, making her moan as she wished for more. Instead, he released her clit, pulled almost out of her, and slid back home.
She gasped.
He squeezed her butt cheeks with both hands again, his cock deep, her tight hole being exposed over and over. It probably should have unnerved her, but instead, she felt a sense of relaxation. Nothing was private from him. Nothing was sacred. If he wanted to set his eyes on the puckered skin, she would not permit herself to feel embarrassed or nervous.
His thumbs worked their way closer to the center, pulling her cheeks wider. He held her open and exposed while he slid out of her warmth and back in several times.
One hand disappeared the next time he held himself inside her. She thought she heard a sucking noise and then a pop. Had he licked his finger? He hadn’t touched her pussy enough for his hand to be coated in her juices.
And then suddenly, a wet finger landed on her puckered tight hole.
She winced, but then forced herself to relax. This was Colin. The man she’d moments ago realized could do anything to her. Was she ready for this?
She held her eyes closed and forced herself to breathe deeply.
“That’s a girl. Deep breaths. You okay?”
“Yes, Sir,” she whispered.
He circled her tight hole a few times and then pressed his finger into her. Just one finger. It wasn’t an enormous stretch, realistically. But she sucked in a sharp breath at the sensation anyway.
Holding that finger deep inside her, he pulled his cock out and thrust it back in.
She cried out, and then set her forehead on her pillow to muffle the noise.
Colin eased his finger almost out and then pushed it back in deeper.
She moaned. “More…” As soon as the word left her mouth, she winced. First of all, it was embarrassing to admit how much she enjoyed this act. Second of all, he would not appreciate her making demands.
Shocking her, he gave her ass a quick smack with his free hand. “Don’t try to control this, Rayne. I decide when, how often, and if you get to come. Understood?”
“Yes, Sir.” She gasped for oxygen. If he left her hanging, she might lose her mind. This wasn’t the first time she’d been concerned about the possibility, a real-world problem he himself had instilled in her that first night when he’d edged her for so long her eyes had rolled back in her head. And then he’d left her like that. He could. He would. He’d proven as much.
His fingers gripped her ass. His cock pulsed inside her. The only thing he moved with any significance was the one pointer inside her tight hole. In. Out. In. Out. She got used to it and found she had nerve endings inside her that came alive. And the fact that his finger was stroking through a thin barrier that separated it from his cock was even more powerful.
He grunted the next time he thrust into her, releasing his grip on her butt cheek with his free hand to bring it around to her clit. He now had nerve endings firing at her from more places than she could concentrate on, and it didn’t matter because all she knew was heaven. He flicked her clit rapidly. “Come for me, baby. Come now. I’m too close.”
In the split second before she obeyed his demand, she grasped his intention. He was about to lose control, and he wouldn’t do so until she did. Her body seized at the realization, and she came, her pussy grasping his cock, her tighter hole clutching his finger, and her clit pulsing.
Sensation overload sent her from one orgasm to another, but this time Colin was moving. Thrusting hard. Pumping in and out of her. Driving her higher and higher until two orgasms became three, and she screamed.
He moaned through heaving breaths, at the last second releasing her clit and pulling out of her rear hole to hold her hips steady as he emptied himself inside her.
When he was spent, he remained lodged in her for several more seconds before sliding out and then easing her legs straight. He patted her ass lightly and climbed off the bed, kissing her neck. “Don’t move.”
She smiled as he headed for the attached bath, loving the way he took care of her—before, during, and after sex. When he returned, she felt the now-familiar stroke of a warm washcloth between her legs. Moments later, he returned to the bed, pulled the covers over them both, and hauled her to her side so that he spooned her from behind.
His lips landed on her shoulder and nibbled a path to her ear. “You’re amazing, baby.”
“You’re not bad yourself.” She closed her eyes and luxuriated in his embrace.
Two hours later, Rayne still lay naked in Colin’s arms on her bed in the middle of the afternoon. Sated and smiling. As she absently stroked a finger over Colin’s chest, she lifted her face from his pecs and met his gaze. “You think your sister is really doing okay?”
Colin was drawing lazy circles up and down Rayne’s back. “I think she’s fine. She has been growing incrementally stronger. I’m impressed with the changes.”
“I guess once the threat was eliminated, she felt like she could breathe for the first time in years.” Rayne couldn’t imagine the kind of fear London must have experienced.
“I hope so. She deserves better. She deserves a man who will worship the ground she walks on.”
“Everyone does.”
Colin smiled and gave her a squeeze. “Absolutely.” He jolted forward all of a sudden, flipping Rayne onto her back and then hovering over her. “I intend to be that man for you.”
Rayne’s mouth fell open, but no sound came out.
“I’m not asking you to make a lifetime commitment. I realize we haven’t known each other well until recently, and we still
have a lot to learn about each other. But I meant what I said earlier. We’re going to make it. I can feel it. Can you?”
She nodded, licking her lips now. “Yes.”
“It will take us some time to iron out what we each find important, but we know a lot about each other already, and I like the way we mesh together.”
“I do too.”
He grinned wider, making butterflies flutter around in her stomach. “I know you’re not a twenty-four-seven type of submissive, but that’s not what I’m looking for. In fact, I find I enjoy our dynamic, keeping it to the bedroom.”
She nodded again. “Me too.”
“I’m going to be working long hours seeing my clients during the day and getting the club up and running at the same time. There will be a lot of late nights in my future.”
“I work a lot too,” she pointed out. “And there’s my mom.”
“All of that would be nothing but semantics if you’ll grant me one request.”
“What’s that?”
“Sleep in the same bed as me every night.”
She giggled. “Aren’t you already sleeping in my bed?”
“Yeah, but we didn’t discuss it. I mean, commit to it. I don’t care which house, but when we get super busy and I’m working until midnight, I want to know that at some point every day I will end up wrapped around your body.”
“I can live with that.”
He narrowed his gaze at her.
“Sir…”
He groaned and then set his forehead against hers. “My place or yours?”
“Neither.”
“What?” He jerked upward.
“Neither. Your house is going to give all of us the heebie-jeebies. A man was killed inside. There are bullet holes in the walls. I think you need to turn it over to insurance, get out of the lease, and move.”
“Agreed. What’s wrong with your house?”
“It’s filled with ghosts. It gives me the chills almost as bad as yours. It’s okay for the short-term, but not forever.”
He gave a sharp nod. “Do you mind if my sister stays here for now?”
“Of course not. As long as she wants. It’s going to take her some time to get back on her feet. I doubt she would want to return to your place any more than I do.”
Colin kissed her thoroughly. Again. She liked it. Again.
When he pulled back, he eased onto his side and traced circles all over her belly. “Oh, I almost forgot to tell you something.”
“What’s that?”
“While you were talking to Sasha at the club earlier, I got some cool gossip.”
“Really?” She twisted her head toward him.
“Remember Faith’s sister, Hope?”
“Hope… I think I met her a few times. What about her?” Faith was Rowen’s wife, the woman he’d met after he and Rayne broke up. Her father was a congressman for the state of Florida.
“She’s getting married.”
“Huh. Faith hasn’t mentioned Hope any of the times I’ve spoken to her.” Granted, they didn’t speak often, but like Sasha, Rayne had held a thin relationship with them after moving to Denver.
“Doesn’t sound like Faith cares much for the fiancé. Hell, Faith doesn’t care much for anyone in her family. They have an extremely strained relationship. But I guess recently Faith has mended fences with her sister, in spite of the fact that her fiancé is a jackass.”
“That’s good. I don’t think Faith had spoken to her sister much in years,” Rayne remembered.
“Anyway, Aaron and I both got invitations to the wedding. It’s in five weeks. I don’t feel like we can both leave Denver right now, so I told Aaron to go without me. Is that okay?”
Rayne twisted her neck farther to see Colin’s face. “Is what okay?”
He winced. “I should have asked you if you wanted to go to the wedding before I told Aaron he could go and I would stay here.”
She was stunned. It took her a moment to realize exactly what he was saying.
Colin rushed to continue. “I’m sure I could make something work if you wanted to go. Maybe it’s not important to Aaron. I have no idea.”
A tear slid from her eye, unbidden. Again.
Colin’s eyes went wide. “What’s wrong? I’m so sorry. I wasn’t thinking. I should have spoken to you first.” He squeezed her arm and lifted up on his elbow to stare down at her.
She shook her head. “It’s not that.” She wiped that stupid tear away and took a deep breath. “I have no idea why I’m so emotional today.”
“A lot has happened. It’s understandable.” His brows were drawn close with concern.
“I’m not worried about the wedding. Let Aaron go. It’ll be fun for him. That’s not why I’m all weepy.” Okay, now she was full-on crying. A sob escaped, and then another. She hadn’t actually cried this hard since she was a small child. She never allowed herself that much emotion.
Colin swiped another tear from her face with his thumb, cupping her jaw so tenderly, his face filled with confusion and worry. “Talk to me.”
She sucked back an ugly cry and drew in a breath. “You really do care about me. This thing we have is for real.”
“Of course I do. Haven’t I said that several times?”
“Yes, but I don’t think I fully got it until you seamlessly included me in future plans. Like I would so obviously be your date and you would so obviously have needed to speak to me about the invitation.” Another tear escaped, and then she lost it, sucking in a breath.
“Baby…” He pulled her face against his chest. “Take a breath. I might have gotten a little ahead of myself and hardly asked your opinion, but yes, we’re a couple. I trust you and you trust me. That’s everything. If I get an invitation to a wedding, you’re most certainly my plus-one.” He reached over her to grab a few tissues from the nightstand and handed them to her. “Let it go. You’ve held that in for too long.”
She did exactly that, crying for several minutes.
Colin, the saint, stroked her back, her arm, her cheek. He never turned away.
Finally, she sucked in a full breath and released it slowly. “Okay. I think I’m done. Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” He smiled at her.
“And one more thing.”
“What’s that?”
“I love the sound of being your plus-one.”
“Then you shall be. From now on I’ll introduce you to everyone we meet as my plus-one.”
She laughed.
Colin joined her.
And then she pulled him down closer and curled against him. “I’m exhausted.”
“Take a nap. I’ll be right here.” He held her close, and she let sleep take her under, knowing he wasn’t kidding. He would be there when she woke up and every day for the foreseeable future.
Please enjoy the following excerpt from book five of the Club Zodiac series, Trusting Aaron.
Aaron was late. His flight had been late. The car rental line had been long. The hotel hadn’t had his room ready. After getting up at four in the morning to head for the Denver airport, he’d been rushing for over twelve hours to arrive at this church in Miami.
It was a stretch that he was even attending this wedding since he’d only met the bride a handful of times. Her sister, Faith Davenport, was married to one of Aaron’s closest friends, Rowen Easton. Aaron had jumped at the opportunity to spend a weekend in Miami with his co-workers from the Miami Club Zodiac, even if it was for the wedding of a woman he barely knew.
The wedding started at four. It was 4:05. He wasn’t even positive he was at the right place.
“Shit,” he muttered as he glanced once again at the GPS on the car’s navigation system. He slowed down in the residential area, glancing out the passenger side of the car to see if perhaps the Lutheran church would suddenly materialize to go with the singsongy voice his GPS was once again proclaiming. “You have reached your destination.”
He’d been around the block three times. Finally,
he spotted the church.
Just as he started to swing into the parking lot, he did a double take. The front door of the church was standing open, and a woman who could only be the bride was running out the door.
Hope Davenport.
If he hadn’t recognized her by her long dark hair, petite stature, and tanned skin, the wedding dress would tip anyone off. She was also rushing directly toward him, holding the sides of her extremely full white dress with both hands.
He hit the brake and put the car in park, confused. Another glance at the church showed Hope’s mother standing in the doorway. The woman looked frantic, which was saying something since Jane Davenport prided herself on being completely composed at all times. She was wearing a long blue dress that hugged her body and probably cost more than Aaron made in a year.
Jane was waving her hands in the air and shouting something Aaron couldn’t make out from inside the car. Hope twisted around to look at her mother and then kicked off her heels, left them on the sidewalk, and kept running.
If Aaron hadn’t been too stunned to react—or if the entire scene had taken more than fifteen seconds—he might have had the wherewithal to get out of the car. Instead, he was still seated, staring, as Hope reached the passenger door.
She yanked it open, grabbed the ridiculous poof of tulle that made her dress stick out in every direction, and slid into the passenger seat. It wasn’t graceful. In fact, as she slammed the door, Aaron was pretty certain half the dress remained trapped outside.
Finally, Hope twisted to look at him, and a slow smile spread across her face. “Aaron. Thank God. Drive.” She pointed forward, the smile disappearing as a more serious expression returned. “Now. Hit the gas.”
Aaron put the car in drive and took off. “Hope?”
“Just drive. I need to think.” She gripped the console between them with one hand and used her other hand to flatten the pile of puffy white material that reached her chin.
He drove to the end of the street and took a right, thinking to circle the block as he’d already done three times. What the hell was Hope doing?
“Take a left at the next intersection,” she demanded, ending his plan to circle the block.
