She felt the rhythm of his breath as he kissed her lower and lower down her belly. His fingers found the waistband of her skirt.

“Igeos-eun jigeum jegeo hal su issseubnida.” His breath tickled her belly as he spoke.

Lifting up, he peeled the skirt down and off her, dragging it down her sensitive legs.

  His head dipped down.

“What are you doing?” She asked.

His hair tickled the top of her thighs. He breathed hot and heavy against her pink panties.

She closed her eyes again and pushed her head back into the pillow.

His fingers were now peeling back the material of her underwear, exposing her to the cool air.

When Kimoon tossed them aside, he moved his hands up her legs. His lips met hers again.

“I want you,” he said. His dark eyes watched her.

“I want you too,” she whispered.

His lips traced over her collar bone.

“I want to be part of your happiness.” His lips grazed her ear. His deep voice rattled the deepest most uninhibited part of her, the piece of her that she hid away for years. It was the part of her that was ready to bloom into something beautiful

“I’ve never felt this comfortable with anyone,” she said. Her words were punctuated with her jagged heartbeat. “And I want you to feel just as good as you make me feel.”

He leaned his forehead against hers. She felt like she was breathing him in, and he was breathing her in.

Tracing down his abs and the rest of his heated body, her hand found what she was looking for.

She could feel just how strong he desired her. As she wrapped her fingers around him, a feral moan escaped from his throat.

“I’ve wanted to touch you all day,” she whispered.

He pressed himself into her palm.

“Does that feel good?” She moved with his movements.

  “Yes.”

He was holding his breath, trying to choke back the moans.

“It’s okay,” she whispered. “You can express yourself.”

Another deep moan punctuated the heated air between them.

She allowed him to press against her body, maneuvering him against her until they were moving in unison. Releasing her hand, she let their bodies take over.

He moved just as smoothly in bed as he did on his feet. He moved rhythmically, like ocean waves slipping against the shore. She matched his rhythm which was punctuated by the poetry of their moaning voices.

She looked up into his determined eyes. His lips were full and wanting. Arching her back, she pressed into him.

Recognizing her signal, he pressed harder against her as he eased himself inside. Closing her eyes, she pressed her head back into the bed.

  “Kimoon&emdash;”

As the room’s fan kicked on, cool air blew over her skin, lifting wisps of her hair. She shuddered briefly. Kimoon moved his warm hands over her skin, heating her instantly.

Wrapping both arms around her, he flipped her again so that she was on top. Continuing the wave of his rhythm, his hands held tight onto her curves. He made sure she was right there with him riding every crest, every trough.

Kimoon pulled her down so that his mouth found her nipples. The touch of his tongue was a relief for her heated skin.

As pleasure took over, she closed her eyes. The sensation was enough to make her feel like she was falling closer and closer to the sun. But with Kimoon strong between her legs, she knew she wouldn’t fall as long as his hands were on her. He would never let her go.

She burned hot with heat. With the way he was saying her name and looking up into her eyes, she was consumed by fire. They were falling into the sun together, burning up in each other’s arms.

Kimoon’s fingers squeezed into the muscles of her back. He pulled her tight against him as he choked back the largest moan of all. She felt his power as she curled her toes and arched into him.

Forget the sun, she thought. She was the sun. She was energy. She was heat. And so was Kimoon.

When the waves of pleasure washed over them, they collapsed into each other’s arms.

Kimoon held her in his arms as he rested his head in the crook of her neck.

She kissed his forehead, sweeping the damp hair out of his face.

As she rested on top of him in the warm cuddle of his embrace, she felt the aftershocks of their spiritual explosion. As she listened to his heartbeat, she wished they could stay like that forever.

  ***

There was a buzzing noise as Kimoon rubbed his eyes. Sun streamed in through the window.

Vanessa was sleeping in his arms.

  What time was it?

He checked his phone. It was his alarm telling him that he had thirty minutes until soundcheck.

Good, he thought. He still had time.

Smiling, he looked down at the woman sleeping in his arms. He pulled her in closer, allowing him to smell the sweet fruit scent of her hair.

As she breathed gently against his chest, tickling his skin. He treasured this moment. It wasn’t just intimacy, it was the feeling of connecting to someone else. It was looking into Vanessa’s eyes and knowing what she was thinking.

He couldn’t remember if he ever felt this way with someone. And, with the way his career was going, he didn’t know if he’d feel this way ever again.

He was stuck on a hamster wheel of recording and touring. He’s been running on that wheel for five years and the contract calls for another five.

And what would happen after that? More contracts? More tours?

This was all the time they had.

Pulling Vanessa closer, he spooned against her body, kissing her neck. She stretched and moaned as she slowly opened her eyes.

Kimoon pushed her golden hair behind her ear.

  “I’m happy here,” she said.

  He smiled.

  “I’m happy too,” he said.

She kissed him. It was a slow, meaningful kiss that told him everything he needed to know. The sensation made his head dizzy. She made him feel high.

When she pulled back she traced her nose against his. He closed his eyes and breathed her in.

“I don’t ever want to leave,” she said.

He traced his fingers delicately over hers.

  “No,” he said. “Don’t.”

He knew he’d have to leave soon but he wasn’t wasting this time with her.

He kissed her again, slowly and sensually. They melted deep into each other and he kissed her until his lips were tingling. She nipped his bottom lip before laughing and pulling away.

As she stood up, she said something in English. Just as he was about to question her, she started dancing. A slow smile crept onto his face as she did a cute little dance for him. She started singing in a soft voice as she moved.

As she pointed to her eyes and then out to the world, he realized she was telling a story. Her hands mimicked the rain before moving like ocean waves.

He smiled as he watched. He had no clue what the story was about but he couldn’t stop smiling as he watched it. She ended the song with a little bow.

“Wow,” he said as he clapped. He wished he could tell her how enchanted he was.

  The phone started buzzing again.

Kimoon dropped his head back onto the pillow in exasperation.

“Sorry,” he said. He pulled back toward the side table but quickly learned it wasn’t his phone ringing.

Vanessa was fishing her phone out of her purse.

“Hello?” She held a finger up to Kimoon as she retreated to the bathroom.

Kimoon checked his phone. He had to get ready to go to soundcheck. How would he break the news to Vanessa? He didn’t want this amazing day to end and he knew she didn’t either.

Should he tell her the truth?

How would she react to him lying all day?

But he didn’t lie. He simply left out the most major part of his life.

He rubbed his forehead and groaned.

As he thought about what to say, Vanessa walked into the room. She was already wearing her bra and underwear.

“Kimoon,” she said. “I have to go.”

She grabbed her skirt off the ground and pulled it on.

Propping himself up on his knees, he sat in bed with the blanket pulled around him.

  “You must go?” He asked.

“My sister and her friend,” she said. She searched for her shirt. “We have plans tonight.”

  “Ahh.”

Even though he had to leave too, he suddenly felt like a chunk of his heart was about to disappear when Vanessa stepped out that door.

When she was all dressed, she looked up at him.

“Can I see you again?” She asked. “This week?”

He heart broke all over again.

“Oh… I leave tonight. For work.”

Her smile faded. “Oh. Of course. So this is goodbye.”

Kimoon stepped off the bed, pulling the blanket with him. When he reached her, he touched her soft cheek which was cool from the air.

He looked into her brilliant amber eyes as she spoke.

“Today was amazing,” she said. “You’re a very special person.”

  He smiled.

“I feel the same way,” he said. He stared at her for a moment before switching to Korean. “I haven’t been open with anyone in a long time and you helped me break down my walls. I felt like I was losing who I was and you helped me find that person again.”

He breathed. She looked up at him with a supportive expression. She may not have understand his words, but she understood his eyes.

“You help me love myself,” he said.

  She smiled.

Pulling away, she leaned over and grabbed his phone.

“I’ll give you my number,” she said, handing his phone to him.

He unlocked his phone, navigated to his contacts app, and switched the keyboard from Korean to English before handing the phone back to her.

She entered her information and handed it back to him.

“Call me in New York,” she said. “I’ll give you a tour.”

  “Of course.” He smirked.

“Thank you,” she said. “For everything. I needed it.”

Tossing his phone onto the bed, he pulled her in and kissed her again.

“Thank you, Phanessa.” He knew he was saying her name with a Korean accent but he couldn’t help himself.

Leaning his forehead against hers, he breathed her in one last time.

“Here,” she said. She pulled off her bracelet. “For you.”

He was hesitant. It was such a cool bracelet he didn’t want to take it from her.

“Take it!” She pushed it into his hands. “I’ll make more.”

Smiling, he pulled it onto his wrist.

“Beautiful,” he said as he admired it. “Like you.”

Her cheeks blushed a soft shade of coral. Leaning in, he tasted her lips again.

  “Saranghaeyo,” he whispered.

After the best date of her life, Vanessa found it hard to pull away from Kimoon but she had no choice.

Smelling like sex, she made her way down to her room. After a well-deserved shower, she picked fresh clothes. Pulling on a white jean skirt and a black top, she did her makeup and slipped on white sneakers. She tied pink bows to her shoelaces in an attempt to turn them into pink shoes.

When she left the hotel, she couldn’t help but look around the lobby for Kimoon. He was nowhere to be seen.

Vanessa met up with Madison and Mi-cha at a dumpling concert near the concert venue. The bell on the door chimed as she walked in. The restaurant was full of young men and women who were dressed up for the concert.

“Hey!” Madison waved from a booth near the back.

Vanessa rushed over and slipped into the booth opposite them. Madison and Mi-cha looked incredibly cute dressed up in their Daenseu Boys shirts and colorful headbands.

Madison lit up as she surveyed her sister. “You dressed up!”

“Of course I did,” Vanessa said. “You didn’t think I’d wear something boring to a Daenseu Boys

  concert, did you?”

“Wow, somebody’s happy.” Her smug expression slowly turned into one of realization. Her eyes widened. “Oh my god, you got laid!”

“Oh my god, Madison!” Vanessa was genuinely shocked. She forgot how well her sister could read her.

Mi-cha giggled. “She’s always like this. She has a sixth sense when it comes to people getting laid.”

  Vanessa bit back her smile.

“You did, didn’t you?” Madison narrowed her eyes.

“I may have gone on a date.”

Madison shrieked and demanded all the details.

Vanessa explained the story of how she met a mysterious man on campus, and then again at the hotel.

“Wait… He had the penthouse suite, a private car, and only used the back entrances for all the places he went?” Mi-cha asked.

“Did I say it was a private car?”

Mi-cha took a sip of her water. “No app service is that fast.”

“Damn, this guy must have been rich as fuck. Maybe a social media entrepreneur or something.”

“Not if he’s still in school.” Madison stirred the ice cubes in her drink.

“You never know!” Mi-cha looked back at Vanessa. “He didn’t say anything about what he did?

Or who his family was? Maybe he’s the hotel owner’s son.”

Vanessa shook her head. “I probably should have asked but we had so much more to talk about.”

“You guys don’t even speak the same language!” Madison laughed. “What would you even talk about?”

“Everything,” Vanessa said wistfully. “We connected so well.”

“Well? Are you going to see him again?”

The bell on the front door rattled as more Daenseu fans entered the restaurant.

“I don’t know.” She sighed as she stared absently at the door. “I hope so.”

The waiter came by with their order of dumplings. Steam carried the scent of garlic, onions, and sesame oil into the air.

“Hello?” Madison waved her hand in Vanessa’s face. “Earth to Vanessa.”

Vanessa focused her vision back on her sister.

“Sorry. I was just thinking about… never-mind.” She smiled to herself.

“What?” Madison always had to know everything. She was like that ever since she was a little kid.

Vanessa smirked as she pulled the platinum card out of her purse.

“He gave me his hotel key.” She flashed the card at them, letting it catch the light. “He said he didn’t need the room anymore but it’s booked until tomorrow. We can go there after the concert and sit in the jacuzzi.”

“Oh my fucking god.” Madison snatched the card out of Vanessa’s hand. “How are you so lucky? You meet the one eligible bachelor on campus and he just happens to be loaded?”

Mi-cha sighed. “We really need to get out of our dorm more.”

Madison handed the platinum card back. “Whatever. I’m hoping that Daejung sees me in the crowd tonight and we end up running away together.”

“When does this concert start anyway?” Vanessa stared at the menu, realizing just how much of an appetite she worked up during her physical activity with Kimoon.

“Soon. We already ordered so we’ll eat and run.”

Mi-cha excused herself, leaving Vanessa and Madison alone for a moment.

  “Did you have fun today?”

Vanessa cocked her head to the side and smiled.

“Yeah,” she said thoughtfully. “I did.”

“Good. I was worried that after your awful ex, you wouldn’t be able to let your hair down ever again.”

Vanessa laughed. “You don’t have to worry about that. I certainly let my hair down today.”

“I want to hear more about this guy.”

“He was sweet and sexy and sensitive. H
e was everything I could ever ask for in a guy.”

She couldn’t help but smile when she thought about him.

“Do you think you’ll ever see him again?”

Vanessa gave a lazy shrug. “I hope so.”

She didn’t have the heart to admit that this was probably the only memory she’d ever have of Kimoon.

Her phone buzzed and lit up.

It was a text from an unknown number.

Vanessa grabbed her phone and read the text:

UNKNOWN: Hey. It’s Kimoon. Thank you again for the amazing day. I know you said you were busy this evening, but maybe you can come watch me work tonight. Let me see you one more time before I leave.

She opened the file that was attached and saw three tickets to the Daenseu Boys.

She furrowed her brow. He couldn’t be a member of the band, could he?

No, of course not. That would be absurd.

But the memory of the day intensified as she thought about the private car and the penthouse suite.

He could have been an assistant or a manager. Maybe he was a producer or photographer.

  Maybe he was their choreographer.

“Vanessa?” Madison’s sharp green eyes were watching her. “Is everything okay?”

She cleared her throat. “What are our seat numbers?”

Madison pulled out the tickets. “Section two-thirty, row B. Why?”

“I think we just got an upgrade.”

Thirty minutes later they were standing in the front row, as close to the stage as they could possibly be.

“Oh my god, oh my god!” Madison and Mi-cha were squealing and jumping up and down.

“We can feel their sweat from here!”

Bass was shaking the venue. Everyone around them began to clap and cheer.

Vanessa looked around, hoping to see Kimoon somewhere but all she saw was an ocean of colorful-haired fans.

The house lights dimmed and the crowd began cheering loudly. Colorful strobe-lights beamed through the air.

“Oh my god, it’s starting!” Madison jumped with excitement.

Magenta and teal lights moved frantically around the stage before stopping abruptly, focusing on a single spot in the middle of the stage. Gold fireworks went off as six men appeared, posing for the crowd.

Everyone in the audience went crazy. People screamed and jumped.

The spotlight narrowed onto the singer in front as he started rapping in Korean. Everyone sang along, including Madison and Mi-cha.
