“Nice pants,” he said. He dropped a kiss on her cheek and casually slung an arm about her shoulders.

Corina had almost worn a different pair, but the compliment and the way Zach lustily eyed her hips made her glad she hadn’t. The salmon-colored Dockers hugged her hips and she knew the material cupped her round ass in an appealing way. She had paired the bottoms with a light-weight dove gray top and had completed the ensemble with a denim jacket.

Zach definitely wasn’t acting cold or distant toward her. He was behaving as though the two of them were…dating. True, they were going out together on a date, but the familiarity that he bestowed on her through his kiss and touch made her feel like they were a couple. She smiled to herself at the thought and was relieved to know that their day together wouldn’t be the awkward experience she’d envisioned on the drive over.

“This is my car. I thought I’d drive since I’m the one who knows what we’re doing and where we’re going today. I hope that’s okay with what you have planned for later?”

“Sure is. It sounds great. I love it when a woman is in charge,” he said with a wink. “Wait, let me.” Zach pulled the car door open for her. “Wow, did you bring your entire closet with you?” he teased when he glanced at the clothes spread across her backseat.

“I brought along a change of clothes,” she said and shrugged. “Since I was unsure what your plans for this evening entailed, I brought several choices.”

“Maybe we don’t need clothes for what I have planned,” he purred.

Corina’s cheeks flamed and was unsure why. She would be lying to herself if she said she didn’t want to sleep with Zach again. Since they’d already done it, she had no idea why she was so hung up about doing it again. Well, she knew why she felt like she should be ashamed of their intimacy.

“I’m sorry. Did I make you uncomfortable?” Zach asked her softly as he hopped into the passenger seat.

  “No, I’m being silly.”

“Why do you say that? Do you regret what happened at the auction?”

Corina silently thanked him for being sensitive enough to her mood to understand that she obviously wasn’t completely comfortable with the fact that they’d slept together before their first official date. She took her attention off the road long enough to connect her gaze with his. He seemed to be eying her cautiously, as though gauging her reaction. Corina realized why she felt embarrassed. It wasn’t because she regretted her actions. It wasn’t because she didn’t want to have sex with him again. It was because she wanted it to happen again so badly that she was scared of what might happen when the two of them appeared in public together this afternoon.

How were people going to regard them, sprawled out on a blanket sharing lunch in Forest Park and strolling through the museum? More importantly, how would Zach react to people seeing the two of them? If she hadn’t slept with him, she wouldn’t care how they looked together. In fact, had she not already been physical with Zach, she would have purposely kept their date platonic. Her usual dating rule was to let the man make the first move. She had blown that rule at the charity event when she’d initiated sex with Zach. It had undeniably been the best sex of her life, but it had definitely complicated things.

“Corina, is everything okay?” he asked in a low, urgent tone. He grabbed her right hand.

His voice snapped her out of her moody reverie and made her realize she hadn’t answered his question. She knew he deserved an answer, but she was unsure what she could tell him. Did she want to admit that she was worried he’d realize he was out of her league?

“I don’t regret being with you. What happened at the charity event was…hot, to say the least. To be honest with you, I wasn’t sure how you’d react when I showed up for our date today. I didn’t know if you’d still want to actually go out. A part of me worried that you would just expect me to hop in the sack with you as soon as I showed up at your place.” She let out a long breath, slowing the car’s speed in order to get on the exit ramp.

“Is that why you ran away from me without even saying goodbye the other night?”

“Yes, I’m sorry. I’d like to think of myself as a modern woman, but I guess somewhere along the line all those lectures from my mother must’ve sunk in. She was from the school of thought that if you go to bed with a man too soon, he’ll get the wrong impression about you, and once he’s gotten what he wants, you’ll never hear from him again.”

“Oh, and by me cracking that joke about getting naked later you thought my plans for our date tonight was just staying in and having sex? No. I plan on taking you out to dinner, then taking you back to my place for dessert.”

At the idea of being devoured by Zach later that night, Corina’s clit throbbed. Her heartbeat began to quicken and she was thankful that they had reached their destination. She put the SUV in park under a shady tree and killed the engine. “Let’s just forget about my weird behavior and start over. It was stupid. I hope I haven’t put a damper on our day by clinging to old-fashioned ideals,” Corina said.

“With those green eyes and that smile, it’s impossible for my day to be anything but spectacular.” Zach placed his hand under her chin and planted a kiss on her lips.

When his mouth found hers, her fears melted away. He was into her. She believed him. Zach was either completely sincere or he was the smoothest liar she’d ever met.

Corina spread an old quilt under a massive oak tree then removed items from the picnic basket. She pulled out the plastic containers she’d gotten from her deli that contained balls of fresh mozzarella and cherry tomatoes in olive oil, prosciutto-wrapped melon, grapes, diced pineapple and a hunk of French bread. A few bottles of sparkling water completed the spread.

“It’s not a lot, but I wanted simple food that could be eaten with our hands.”

“Mmm. Sounds delicious and maybe a bit naughty.”

“It’s just finger food,” Corina insisted.

“Yeah, but it would be sexy as hell if we fed it to each other,” Zach said and raised an eyebrow.

“I like where your mind’s at,” she said with a lick of her lips.

“Keep licking those lips and we’ll be heading back to my place for dessert early,” Zach threatened, leaning forward to kiss her. “Here, have some pineapple.”

Corina opened her mouth and let him place the soft, sweet fruit on her tongue. Some excess juice trickled over her lip when she bit into the fleshy fruit. Zach lowered his mouth to hers and lightly sucked the juice from her skin.

  “Mmm. Delicious,” he said.

“My turn.” She plucked a grape off its stem then fed Zach.

He closed his lips around the fruit and lightly grazed her fingertips in the process. This time she initiated a kiss. Corina locked her hands behind his neck and pulled his face toward her own. The kiss started as a soft peck, but soon their mouths were open and they were caressing each other’s tongues. Zach placed his hand on hers at his nape. He tugged her hand down to his lap and broke his mouth away from hers.

“Unless you want me to take you on this blanket, I think it would be wise for us to feed ourselves,” he whispered and placed her hand on the fly of his jeans.

A soft whimper escaped her. Corina bit down on her lower lip in an effort to keep any other erotic noises from spilling out of her. It was a huge turn-on to know that he wanted her so badly. Her body flushed all over with desire. Knowing he was so hard and that she had caused it, made her sex slick and full with need. Zach was right, if they didn’t stop, they’d be searching out a shrubbery to have sex behind.

“Okay.” She removed her hands from his body and slowly exhaled.

“You’re sexy as hell. Please tell me you know that, right?” Zach asked, staring at her mouth. “Those lips. They have me captivated today.”

Corina just smiled and shrugged, removing her jean jacket. The thin material of her top strained against her breasts when she reached behind her to pull her arms out of the sleeves. Her nipples
tingled and hardened. Zach seemed to be in tune with the change in her body. She watched as he lowered his eyes from her face to her chest. She wasn’t sure if it was because of the erotic situation she’d just shared, the intensity of Zach’s stare or the gentle cool spring breeze. Maybe it was a combination of all three.

Zach lowered his hand to his lap and readjusted himself through his jeans and she attempted to avert her eyes. She wasn’t intentionally trying to add to his discomfort, just as she was sure he hadn’t been trying to make her nipples hard. It just happened. They were attracted to each other.

“Okay, let’s eat…and talk,” Corina finally said. She ripped a piece of bread off, placed it into her mouth then took a swig out of one of the water bottles. “So are you from St. Louis? I grew up here, but I get the distinct feeling you didn’t. You have a slight accent that I can’t place.”

Zach smiled before taking a bite out of his wedge of prosciutto-wrapped melon. “No, I’m not from here. I’m a military brat. I was born overseas. In Germany, actually, on an Army base. We lived there until I was three. Then we moved around Europe and Asia, finally settling in the U.S. in my late teens. My dad was given a long-term assignment in South America just before my eighteenth birthday, but I’d had enough of moving around by then, so I got a job delivering packages and have stayed put. I’ve lived here for going on fifteen years.”

“Wow. So you’ve seen the world, then?”

“Not all of it, but a lot of it. I like traveling, but not nearly as much as I like having a place to call home. You can only start over so many times before you give up. It always seemed like once we settled in somewhere and I’d made a few friends, we moved and I had to do it all over again. The food is great,” he said then popped a piece of mozzarella in his mouth.

“Thanks, but I just picked it out. I had no part of making it.”

“So what made you choose Forest Park as the spot for our date?”

“It’s beautiful.” She gestured toward the green expanse around them. “Like I said, I had a feeling you weren’t from here and there’s so much history surrounding Forest Park. I mean, it was the site of the 1904 World’s Fair, after all. Also, this place has plenty of good memories associated with it.

“I’ve shot wedding pictures at various spots throughout the park. I used to come here on the weekends and ride my bike along the trails. Then as a child, I came here numerous times to visit the zoo. Plus, the park has a romantic atmosphere, but not overtly,” she said, dusting bread crumbs from her hands.

“Well, are you ready to walk around?”

Corina agreed and they packed up their blanket and picnic supplies then returned them to her SUV before heading to the museum.

“Welcome to my humble abode,” Zach said as he opened the door to his apartment for her.

Corina looked around and took in the sparse surroundings. “Did you just move in?”

  “Five years ago,” Zach said.

“Oh, you definitely have that bachelor pad thing going on,” she said noticing the bare walls and futon.

“Here, you can change in my room, if you want.”

Despite the minimal furnishings in the rest of his apartment, the bedroom had a cozy appeal. The small space contained a big bed and a chest of drawers. Zach showed her the full-length mirror attached to the back of the bedroom door. She nodded in approval but was suddenly struck by how silly they were behaving.

“Zach, wait. What’s the point of getting ready in separate rooms? We’ve already slept together. You can change clothes in here too. Come on, we’re both adults. We can control ourselves.”

Zach seemed to reluctantly agree with her and started removing his shoes and socks. When he walked to his closet and shuffled through articles of clothing, Corina figured it was as good a time as any to change out of her own clothes and slip on a dress. She’d brought two different frocks and held them up in front of her as she stood before the mirror attached to the back of the door.

“What kind of place are we going to for dinner? How should I dress? Casual, dressy, trendy?”

“It’s not super fancy. Just dress nice,” he said as he pulled a pair of dress shoes off the top shelf of his closet. “If I had to classify it, I’d say a step up from casual, I guess.”

Corina decided on the black dress. She couldn’t go wrong with the simple lines of the garment and the low neckline would offer Zach an eyeful of her cleavage. She’d sass the outfit up with a pair of cherry-red stilettos and the silver clutch purse she’d brought with her. She glanced at Zach, who seemed to be searching for something in the closet. She decided to hurry and take her clothes off while he was distracted.

No matter what she’d told Zach, she knew where he was concerned she had no self-control. If either of them saw the other changing clothes, they’d be on each other in an instant. Her plan was to throw her dress on as quickly as possible then freshen up her hair and makeup in the bathroom. Corina tugged her shirt over her head but froze before she could unbutton her pants. Zach had turned from the closet and was staring at her. He walked the few steps that separated them and looked down into her face.

“Did you really think we could undress in the same room and not touch each other?”

“Who says you can’t touch me?”

Zach placed his hands around her upper arms and brought her to him. His lips found hers and he ground them against her mouth, spreading her lips with his tongue. Corina tilted her head back to grant him further access and let out a purr when he released the clasp of her bra. They broke apart and she slipped the brassiere off. Zach leaned down and wrapped his lips around one of her nipples. She swayed slightly at his touch and buried her hands in his hair in an attempt to hold him fast to her breast. With one hand he tweaked her free nipple and placed his other at the small of her back for support. She leaned in toward the pleasure and the movement forced more of her breast into his eager mouth.

He raised his head and peered up into her face. “What do you want me to do next? Tell me.”

“Whatever you want to do to me.”

“Oh, baby. You shouldn’t have told me that,” he said with a devilish gleam in his eyes.

Zach moved his hands to the waistband of her pants and quickly removed them along with her underwear. He held her as she stepped out of the clothing. Naked, she stood before him. Zach dropped to his knees in front of her and quickly pulled his shirt over his head, then his mouth was on her body once again. Using his lips, he trailed down the center of her torso. Once he reached her navel, he dipped his tongue in the crevice and swirled it in a circular motion.

Corina whimpered at the expert flicks of his tongue. She could only imagine how the powerful muscle would feel on other parts of her body. Her pussy lips grew hot and achy at the thought. She knew he’d find her wet once he got there. His oral tour of her flesh was maddeningly slow.

“You’re so perfect. You’re beautiful, Corina,” Zach said as he made his way toward her swollen sex with his mouth.

Someone as gorgeous as Zach thought she was perfect? Corina looked down at him as though he’d lost his mind. What she saw would’ve made her fall over had she not been using him for support. His face was inches from her pussy. He was regarding her body as if it were an altar and he was there to worship.

“I’ve wanted to do this for two days,” Zach said before he lapped at her wet clit.

At the first stroke, Corina jumped as though an electric current had passed through her. He pulled her closer to his mouth and put his hands under her ass to tilt her at an angle that gave him even more access to her cleft. Thanks to her raised lower body, she had an unobstructed view of his mouth on her sex. She watched with a mixture of lust and wonder as his tongue swirled, plunged then stroked her wet mound.

He continued to lick her slippery, swollen folds until she was panting with need and her legs began trembling from the sensations. Zach pulled his face back a few inches and blew on her engorged flesh before taking
her clit between his lips and rapidly sucking on the nub. Throwing her head back, she climaxed in a rush of liquid heat.

He stood and walked her backward, guiding her toward the edge of the bed. She sat on the plush surface and wasted no time helping Zach out of his jeans. She yanked the waistband of his boxer-briefs down his slim hips and couldn’t help but lick her lips when his thick erection sprang free.

“Do you like what you see?” he asked.

“Very much.” She gripped his length in her hand.

  “Tell me what you like.”

Her face grew warm at his words. Wasn’t it obvious what she liked by the way she was milking his hard shaft? She bit her lower lip, trying to come up with something sexy to say. She’d never been that great at dirty talk.

“Please,” Zach said gently, cupping her chin in his hand. He used it to guide her head up to look him in the eyes. “I want to hear it.”

Corina stopped moving for a moment. She realized that Zach didn’t just want to hear what she liked. It seemed as though he needed to hear it. She knew words were powerful and could be just as much of a turn-on as a look or a touch. She cleared her throat and prepared what she’d say.

“I like your cock. It’s big and thick. The head is so wide. It reminds me of a ripe plum. I bet it’s just as delicious,” she whispered before she took the crown of his cock into her mouth.

Corina inhaled deeply and breathed in his masculine scent while she stroked her tongue over the broad crest. She savored the slightly salty taste of him, flicking and teasing the head before pulling it out of her mouth. She gripped his impressive length at its wide base and used her other hand to cup his heavy sac. Pumping her fist and sucking in a fluid rhythm, she sought to give him the oral pleasure he’d given her. Zach, however, had other plans.

“Ah, Corina. Stop…please,” he said as he urged her mouth off his cock. “I don’t want to come until I’m buried inside you.” He stared into her eyes.
