Judy looked at her dangling feet. “I got embarrassed when you rejected me.”

“No need to be embarrassed, hoppy.” He walked over to her and grasped her ass, lifting her slightly, taking the weight off her aching arms.

She sighed and then let out an oooh as he started massaging her cheeks. She hitched her legs around his waist. Her beast practically purred.

“It just wasn’t the right moment,” he crooned.

  “And this is?” she breathed.

“Well, we’re probably going to die soon.”

  “Oh, you insufferable…”

He covered her mouth with his, taking her with a soft yet determined kiss. She tightened her legs around him and arched her back pressing her breasts against him, her arms still trapped above them. The cold of the freezer evaporated as her body reached boiling point.

It was at the point when she was seriously considering how easy it would be to undo his pants with her feet when she decided they ought to stop. She ripped her mouth away from his, and he frowned.

“Don’t give me that look,” she said disapprovingly. “We are not having sex in a freezer.”

“You’re right, wouldn’t want anything to shrink.”

“Puh-lease.” She’d seen him naked, and he had nothing to worry about there.

Before they could decide on an awesome plan to escape – one that was definitely on the tip of her tongue – the goons reappeared.

The polar bear smirked. “See you found something to occupy your time.”

Mason let out a primal grunt.

“C’mon, the boss wants to talk to you.”

  *

Mason recalled who Tina’s boyfriend was the moment he saw him sitting behind his cushy desk, surrounded by his goons. Frank Jones Jr. an arctic wolf shifter, son of Frank Jones Sr. who fancied himself as some kind of arctic mafia crime boss. They were on the SEA watch list. This wasn’t good news. But in spite of his naturally pessimistic nature, he knew he and Judy had to get out of there. He wanted some more kisses like that. He wanted to feel her warm, curvy form against his. He wanted to see those freckles again, the ones scattered across her breasts…

Frank gave them a bored look. “Why were you spying on my girlfriend? You think harassing my girl’s gonna get you something on me?”

“Who are you?” asked Judy with genuine bafflement.

Frank paused. “Who am I? Who am I? Who the fuck are you?”

Judy bristled, and Mason had to quash the smile as he imagined her tail fluttering. “Judy Carrot – spelled carrot but pronounced ca-rot. I work for Supernatural Insurance. Who are you?”

He snorted. “I’m Frank Jones Jr.”

  She shrugged.

“Heir to Beluga Arctic Fish and Meat Imports.”

  “Doesn’t ring any bells.”

“The biggest fishing import business in the city?” snapped Frank.

“Can’t you just fish locally? Do they need to be imported?”

Mason was as still as a statue, ignoring the shuffling of the goons and the irate expressions on Jr.’s face, but inside his gorilla was booming with laughter.

“I don’t mean to be a pain, Mr. Jones, but is Tina around?” said Judy. “We need to have a word with her.”

  “What?”

“Tina Blake,” she repeated patiently. “We need to talk to her.”

  “What about?”

“Well, maybe we should talk to Tina directly.”

Frank gave her a look of disbelief. He looked at Mason. “Is she kidding me?”

“Nah, and you better do as she asks.”

The wolf shifter bared his fangs. “Is that a threat?”

“Nope, just a promise. You don’t do it, and she’ll just keep asking, over and over and over again.”

  “Ahem!” Judy frowned at him.

Mason took her hand. “Not a criticism, freckles,” he murmured.

One of Frank’s goons entered and whispered something in his ear. He groaned and scowled at Mason. “Agent Howler Mason.”

  “Howler?” said Judy.

“Long story,” he muttered with a sigh. His mom really did have a lot to answer for.

“What does the SEA want with my girlfriend?” demanded Frank.

“To talk to her!” repeated Judy, all patience now leaving her.

Mason flicked his eyes to the goons and his gorilla growled. They were shuffling restlessly. He enjoyed Judy’s sparky determination, but Frank could be pushed too far. Being put in the freezer was barely even a warning.

Frank, however, surprised him by cocking an amused smile at Judy. “You can ask me anything.”

Judy inhaled. “Fine. Why is she driving her ex-boyfriend’s car?”

Frank then surprised them both by chortling. “Not her ex - her best friend’s idiot little brother. Friend lives in Florida. Tina promised her she’d look out for the dolt. So when he turned up out of the blue and asked her to switch cars, she did.” He scowled. “She handed over the keys to her new BMW – the brand new BMW I bought her.”

“Where is he now?” asked Mason.

  “Hell if I know.”

“But I’ll bet a guy like you would care about his girlfriend’s safety.” He was speaking euphemistically. “I’ll bet you could track that car, just to make sure she was safe.”

Frank growled. “Not sure I want to do the SEA a favor.”

“Do yourself one,” piped up Judy. “Unless you want Moe running back to your girlfriend over and over. How many cars can you afford?”

The wolf shifter let out a breath. He tapped the keyboard of his computer a few times. “It’s outside the public park – west entrance. Now, get out and don’t let me catch you skulking around my girlfriend’s house.”

  “You won’t.”

  *

“That guy was really creepy,” said Judy, trying to withhold her bunny’s shudder. “Ugh, I hate it when people stuff wild animals and mount their heads.”

  “If they were wild animals.”

“You don’t think…” Shifters! “That’s horrible! Do you think he would really do that?”

“His father’s a psycho. The apple doesn’t fall from the nutjob.”

  “That’s the car over there.”

Judy pointed to the darkest part of the lot, under the light that wasn’t working. Mason parked and looked around.

Judy squinted into the darkness. Who said eating carrots gave you night vision? “What is he doing here at night?”

“People come here to run at night – sometimes humans, sometimes shifters, plus it’s a popular hookup spot.”

“You think our weasel might be hooking up with someone?”

“More than I reckon he’s taking a jog through the park. He’s probably dumped the car anyway. It’ll probably lead nowhere.”

  Judy yawned, stifling her retort.

  “It’s late,” he said.

“But we can’t lose the car.”

“No, but you’re falling asleep. I’ve got a friend who owes me a favor - arctic wolf shifter who works for the SEA. I’ll get him to waste his night.”

Her eyelids felt so heavy. She didn’t even bother to argue with him.

  *

Judy awoke in a strange bed. A strange, large bed that smelled of a big, masculine gorilla shifter.

Yay, she was in Mason’s bed.

Shit, she was in Mason’s bed.

She sat up and found the other half of the bed empty. She was in Mason’s bed, he wasn’t there, and she couldn’t remember how she got there.

Her bunny clacked her teeth in irritation. How could she forget the sex? She’d been imagining it since the moment she met him and then she was too tired even to remember? So disappointing.

Although, she was still in her clothes from yesterday. She could still feel the lemon meringue crumbs in her bra.

“Hey.” Mason barreled into the room. “Heard you moving around. You want some breakfast?”

Judy rubbed her eyes. “What happened last
night?”

“You fell asleep in my car. I wasn’t sure where you were staying, so I brought you here. I got someone to retrieve your car from outside Tina’s house. Don’t worry I was a total gentleman.”

“Oh.” Her bunny harrumphed. That wasn’t altogether welcome news. “You mind if I take a shower?”

  “Course not, knock yourself out.”

She was annoyed at herself for falling asleep, but she did have to admit that she felt better than she had in days and the shower was divine. She lathered herself in Mason’s shampoo and shower gel – mmmm, she smelled just like him. Gorgeous.

Judy stepped back into the bedroom and found Mason au natural.

  “Oh!”

“Sorry, I was just getting changed.”

He made no move to cover himself, and she didn’t bother to look away. Well, they had already seen each other naked.

  “Oh no, I don’t mind at all… I mean…”

“Nah, it’s fine – as I said at the beach, we’re shifters, nudity is normal for us.”

“I’m just not used to seeing quite so much nude man all at once.”

He grinned and she pulled the towel around her a little more tightly. It barely covered her ass, never mind the flush threatening her entire body.

“You’re very comfortable with your body,” she commented.

“I find nudity helps me – distracts women from what I’m saying.”

  “It’s like a superpower.”

  “Thank you.”

Judy finger combed her hair while being very careful not to let her towel drop, even though Mason seemed to be willing it to happen.

“Have you heard from your friend, Lake yet? Has anything happened with the car?”

“No, not yet. I’ll bet nothing happened. I’ll bet…” his voice trailed away.

She clamped her hands on her hips. “What?”

Mason chuckled. “We’re both standing here, me completely naked, you practically naked and all you can do is think about the case and all I can do is pour water over your fire.”

She inhaled deeply, and when she spoke her voice was breathy and husky. “What do you have in mind?”

His eyes flicked down to his groin and instinctively she looked, too. “Oh, my!”

  “You can’t guess?”

Judy pouted playfully. “You didn’t seem that interested in the bar.”

Mason walked towards her, slowly. “I’m disappointed you took my no immediately, figured a tenacious bunny like you would need a restraining order before she took the hint. Besides, I think I showed you how hot I am for you in that freezer.”

“Was it freezing? I didn’t notice.”

He ran his hands up her bare arms and scented her shoulder. She could feel his hot breath trailing over her sensitive skin.

“Oh,” she moaned. Her bunny was doing backflips. “I don’t usually do this. Jump into bed with men I barely know. I’m normally a one-month dating, and a dinner with the parents minimum before anything fun happens kind of girl.”

“Yeah?” He placed a kiss on her neck, and she shuddered. “Most women are usually sick of me after a month, best to start with the fun stuff.”

His fingers found the towel and loosened it, letting it fall to the ground.

“Besides,” he growled, “how can any man resist you?”

“Most do,” she muttered as his hands cupped her breasts.

  “Most are idiots,” he rumbled.

“That’s true.” His hand traveled down to her ass.

“If it makes you feel better, we don’t have to bother with the bed.”

He grasped her buttocks and pulled her up his body. She hitched her legs around him as he walked over to the wall, pushing her against it, kissing her soundly.

  Judy froze in his arms.

“What’s wrong?” he muttered before pressing kisses to her neck.

“I was just thinking about how hot it was in the freezer when my arms were pinned over my head, and I kind of felt helpless.” Her rabbit mewled in embarrassment even as she said it, but it was something she’d been thinking about ever since it happened.

  “Yeah?” he chuckled. “Kinky.”

Since her usual kink was having sex with the light on, yep, this was a step up.

Mason pinned her with his hips and grasped her wrists, pulling them over her head, clasping them together with one hand. She wiggled against him, pushing her chest against him, feeling herself completely under his control.

He grunted and reached between them, flicking her clit before grasping his manhood, aligning their sexes. The blunt tip kissed her drenched entrance.

“Cottontail,” he murmured, nibbling on her neck.

  “King Kong,” she teased.

She squeaked as he forcefully thrust inside her, filling her impossibly full. He waited for the briefest moment before dragging out of her and plunging inside again and again. She cried and writhed against him as he took her to the verge of ecstasy over and over. His spare hand grasped her ass, massaging the creamy cheek between his strong fingers. The sound of flesh slapping together was punctuated by her moans and cries. He was so big, so hot inside her, she could feel every inch of him, touching every part of her. Going deeper, pleasuring her as no man had before.

Judy bucked her hips, moving as much as she could against his bulk, loving the feel of him taking her, dominating her. She could relax and let him take control, and just enjoy the heavenly sensations coursing through her body.

She and her bunny sighed as Mason lavished kisses over her chest, darting his tongue over her skin, making her heated body reach an inferno.

  “Mason,” she moaned.

Her legs tightened around him, clutching him to her. Her inner muscles throbbed as her body teetered on the edge of her climax. He furiously began to pump inside her. Their movements became erratic as they reached their crescendo and Mason roared as Judy cried at their mutual bliss.

They panted and clung to one another as they came down from their release. They almost didn’t hear the sound of the phone. Judy suspected Mason wouldn’t have minded if she hadn’t heard.

“The phone is ringing,” she said.

  “Uh huh.”

“You should answer, might be about the case.”

“Ugh,” he grumbled. “Haven’t I worn you out yet?”

“Not even close. I’m a bunny; we go on forever.”

  “Sounds good to me.”

Reluctantly, he put Judy down. She smiled up at him with hooded eyes and he groaned. He turned and answered his phone.

“Yep, aha, yep, sure. That was Lake,” he said turning back to her.

He found her already dressed, wearing one of his shirts and a pair of pants, tightly cinched with her belt. She shouldn’t have looked so hot in baggy clothes, but the way the fabric draped over her luscious curves was highly enticing. “Holy cow, thumper.”

Pulling her hair back with an elastic band, she asked, “What did he say?”

“Moe returned to his car about 5 am, then he went to a motel over on Hallows Avenue, and he just returned to the park.”

She tapped her chin. “Something must be happening in the park.”

“Maybe he just likes the sand pit in the kids’ play area or maybe it has nothing to do…”

Judy scampered across the room and hushed him with a kiss. She allowed her hand to wander over his manhood, and he growled softly.

“C’mon King Kong,” she cooed into his ear. “Let’s check it out.”

  *

  “What’s going on here?”

Mason groaned. “Damn, it’s the Easter egg hunt. Every year there’s an Easter egg hunt in the park for kids. They get maps with clues on, and they have to hunt for chocolate eggs and whoever has the most wins a prize. Plus they get to eat the chocolate eggs. I think they pay like five dollars entrance fee.”

  “An egg hunt?”

They watched as families milled around. The many parents displayed a mixture of boredom, patience and
excitement while the kids jumped up and down with their baskets, desperate for the fun to start.

Mason looked at his watch. “Looks like it’s due to start in a couple of minutes.”

Judy nodded over to the sign-in desk. “Looks just like his arrest photo, doesn’t he?”

Moe was sitting at the desk, handing out maps and taking entrance fees.

  “Let’s grab him,” grunted Mason.

“Wait, wait, wait.” Judy placed her hands on his chest – his taut, muscled chest, trying not to let naughty thoughts take over. Not easy with her horny bunny. One time with him was not nearly enough. “Is it me or are there a lot of rough looking men at this kids’ event?”

“Technically I suppose there is no age limit – anyone can enter, it just violates the spirit of the hunt if adults enter, rather than the rules.”

  “Look, look, look.”

They watched as a huge rhino shifter in a leather jacket – completely at odds with all the families dressed in pastels - sidled up to the desk. Moe pulled out a map from under the table, and the rhino gave him a wadded envelope.

“He’s giving different maps to some of them, and that looks like more than five dollars,” said Judy, trying not to giggle as Mason put his arm around her. Her bunny bounced up and down for her. It felt nice.

“That’s how he’s selling the eggs – they give him money for the maps, and then they hunt the eggs.”

“So, Moe hid all the eggs in the egg hunt and is giving special maps to his buyers. That’s… I was going to say clever, but I’m not sure it is.”

“Well, these eggs are pretty high end, he must have figured the cops would have the fences under surveillance. But here at a kids’ eggs hunt…” Mason rubbed her shoulder. “If we pick him up, he’ll just stall until the eggs are all found and are halfway to god knows where and by then we’ll have no evidence.”

“Maybe if we pick up one of the buyers,” she suggested.

He grunted. “They won’t talk; we need them with the eggs.”

“And there are so many of them.” Judy looked around thoughtfully. “How big is the park?”

“Big, this whole hunt takes hours.”

“Hey. What are you doing here?” A tough looking wolf shifter sidled up to them, nodding at Mason and giving her an interested look. Her bunny shivered slightly. Wolves were not friends to rabbits. But his fierce demeanor was lessened somewhat by the appearance of a voluptuous hedgehog shifter holding the hand of a little boy, a miniature version of the wolf.
