“Of course not. But she has.”
He shrugged. “Ricky’s not too bad. You want to know a father’s worst nightmare? It ain’t the break up. Ain’t even losing the family life. Ain’t being apart from your kids. It’s the guy who moves in with them.” Trent swallowed hard. “That’s it.”
“I’m sorry.”
Trent scooped up more jello shots. “I have my good things. I have the Edge. We have our side jobs. We save good lives. But, essentially, life’s a bitch.”
Collins ate her jello slowly, holding his gaze with ease. She never lost the beat, swaying her hips and moving her feet. “Until you get handled by one. Just remember, Aaron, I run this show now.”
THE END
Readers Note:
This is my first attempt at a new series. It’s not Matt Drake, and nor was it ever meant to be. If I could make this book different – I made it different. I have more novels planned in The Disavowed series so I’d be interested to hear your feedback.
Word of mouth is essential for any author to succeed. If you enjoyed the book, please consider leaving a review at Amazon, even if it’s only a line or two; it makes all the difference and would be very much appreciated.
