  “Don’t do that,” he growled.

  “Do what?”

“This.” He leaned over and bit her lower lip gently.

“Oh.” She sighed and leaned against him. “Are you going to listen to me from now on?”

“Yes.” He lifted her up and placed her on his lap.

“Do you promise?” She rubbed against him.

  “I promise.”

They began to make out like a high school couple. All that was missing was someone calling out for them to get a room.

Instead, a light bulb went off for Grayson.

  He pulled back.

“What’s wrong?” Olivia asked, worried. Her lips were swollen from his kisses.

“I just remembered the name of the werewolf Edward was talking to. I’m pretty sure he’s the alpha.”

  “And?” she asked.

“You might know who he is.”

Her brows furrowed, and then her eyes widened before narrowing. “Alan Simon Sampson,” she hissed. “That ass!”

Grayson nodded. “Don’t worry,” he said, drawing her close and holding her. “We’ll nail them. We’ll protect our home.”

  Chapter 18

“We need to go out there and find them and kill them,” Olivia said.

Her stomach, that traitorous organ, growled loudly.

  “After we eat,” Grayson said.

  “Fine but nothing elaborate.”

Although tension was high, the managed a few laughs as Olivia knocked her hip into Grayson’s as they made their turkey-and-cheese sandwiches. They ate quickly. Olivia was dying to get out there, to start hunting, to end this once and for all.

Well, if killing the alpha and the traitor would end it. Who knew? They had more in their numbers. They might have to kill all twenty of the others.

Don’t worry about that right now. Just focus on ASS and Edward.

After promising each other that they wouldn’t engage the two fiends without the other present, and after a half a dozen kisses, the two split up. With her windows down, Olivia drove toward where Grayson had heard the two talking. The smell of ASS wasn’t strong enough for him to live there, which made sense to her. ASS was being overly cautious. Damn, was he smart.

It took her hours of driving around the city before she found the place. It was a different, more remote motel, one with a lot of vacancies. Following her nose, she determined he was staying at either 335 or 337.

Although she was tempted to bust down the doors and take him on, a promise was a promise. She made it back to her car when she received a text from Grayson that Edward was coming over for a meeting. She hightailed it there and pulled in right after the rat bastard.

Edward smirked at her. “Where were you?”

“Trying to find a dress.” She smiled as wide as she could. “I found it. It’s perfect. I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”

“You do realize he doesn’t love you, right? He never will.”

Olivia shrugged. “I don’t want love,” she said, and she walked up to the door.

  Edward grunted behind her.

Grayson ushered them inside, and they retreated to his living room. “Edward, we have great news,” he said.

Olivia grabbed Grayson’s hand. Neither of them bothered to sit.

“What is it?” Edward asked, confused, glancing between them.

“We’ve been working so hard, but we can do this. We can manage,” Grayson said.

  “Manage what?”

“Get married in three days,” Olivia said. She squealed. “Isn’t that exciting?”

The idea had been Grayson’s. No way could the other pack get all of their members here that quickly. Not when you considered that they wanted three weeks originally.

Edward’s face turned a little pale. Yep. Three days was definitely too quick for their grand plan.

“Are you sure?” he asked. “I didn’t think the hall could fit you in then.”

Olivia turned to Grayson. “You did call the hall, didn’t you?”

“I thought you did.” Grayson frowned.

“Not to worry.” Edward held up his hands. “I’ll go and get this sorted. Don’t you fear. Goodbye.”

Olivia grinned and rolled her neck from side to side. “You ready for this?”

“I am.” Grayson kissed her forehead. “Let’s go.”

  Chapter 19

Grayson was doing his best not to be nervous or worried, but that was too tall of an order for the alpha. They were going up against another alpha and a man he had once trusted like a brother. It was not going to be an easy fight. Not at all.

But Olivia finding out where Alan was living was a boon. Grayson didn’t want anyone else to be involved in the fight, but he had backup lingering nearby, close enough that if Grayson gave the signal, they would enter the fray. It had been hard for Grayson to know who to trust at first, but Jasper was there and several others whom had tried the longest and hardest to get the old Grayson back. They hadn’t given up on him. He had given up on himself, and it had taken Olivia for him to be able to see how far he had fallen.

The alpha drove, tailing Edward, and sure enough, he led them straight to the place Olivia had found.

“You ready for this?” he asked her, parroting her earlier question.

She gave him a fang-filled smile and nodded.

He suppressed a chuckle. She was amazing.

They waited and watched Edward disappear into room 335.

  “Now?” she asked.

  “Yes.”

They opened their car doors but didn’t shut them. On the ride over, they had rubbed their bodies and the car with geraniums. For whatever reasons, the flower masked the scent of werewolves. They should be able to sneak up on them so long as they stayed silent.

Grayson went first, climbing the stairs to the third floor. He stood by the door and waited for Olivia to join him. At her nod, he kicked down the door.

Immediately, a shot was fired. Grayson had already dropped down, his wolf out. Olivia growled, transforming herself as Grayson launched into the room.

The place as small, and now that there were four werewolves inside, it was too cramped. Olivia jumped onto a bed and swatted at ASS. Grayson hated that she was tangled with the alpha, but Edward was refusing to allow Grayson any time to do anything. Edward was slicing and clawing and biting and kicked. Grayson had to keep backing up to avoid being hit, but one slash, a deep gorge, slit his chest down to his abdomen.

With a soft howl of rage, careful not to howl too loudly and bring in the others, Grayson threw a backfist at Edward that landed on the werewolf’s snout. The werewolf growled and leaped at Grayson. Although Grayson tried to duck out of the way, Edward landed on his back.

With a mighty paw, Grayson yanked him off, but the beta was acting more like an alpha. He was refusing to give in.

He two circled each other. Grayson was losing a fair amount of blood. He glanced over. It looked like Olivia wasn’t fair much better. Her fur was matted with blood, and her slashes seemed to have no bite to them.

Grayson opened his mouth to howl so their backup could come help, but Edward shoved Grayson’s chin up to shut his trap so hard that Grayson cut through his tongue.

Uh oh. If something didn’t change and fast, this was going to get ugly.

  Chapter 20

Olivia heard the gunshot, but she hadn’t seen a gun. ASS had already dislocated her left shoulder. Back in high school, she had been a swimmer. Her shoulder had dislocated a few times before. She knew how to pop it back in, and she slammed into the bed. A wolfish shriek burst out of her.

The bed shifted, and she spied the handle of the gun. Rifle, actually.

But then, ASS was there, snarling, saliva dripping from his fangs. He nipped at her, but she jerked back. A few minor cuts had her bleeding. So far, though, she hadn’t made ASS bleed. He was tougher, stronger, and more cunning than the other werewolves she had faced.

No matter. She refused to lose.

&nb
sp; ASS gripped her throat in his paw, lifting her front legs off the ground. He threw her into the wall, and she lay there a moment, dazed. Unfortunately, that moment was long enough for ASS to climb on top of her.

He was trying to mount her! Oh, hell no!

Olivia knew it was a risk, but she took it. She shifted back to her human, wiggled out from his hind legs. Swiftly, she darted over to the bed. She didn’t have time to do more outside of grab the rifle, turn around, and shoot. The first bullet missed, but the second hit the wolf right in the side. ASS collapsed, breathing heavily.

Breathless, eager for this to be done, Olivia whirled around, but the other two werewolves were locked in a circle of fur, claws, and fangs. She couldn’t line up a shot.

Just then a claw ran down her naked back.

Olivia nearly dropped the gun. She scrambled onto the bed and shot twice more before she hit ASS square between the eyes.

Finally, he was dead, but the other two werewolves both seemed to be as well.

Her heart in her chest, Olivia jumped down from the bed. Her back was killing her, and blood was trickling down her leg. She ignored her wounds and rushed over. Grayson and Edward weren’t moving. They were lying on their backs, not touching.

  No. No, no, no!

Panic and worry, fright and dismay had Olivia dropping to her knees. No. She had to make sure Edward was dead. He wasn’t going to come back to life and slice them when their backs were turned.

Olivia marched over to him, placed the rifle against his forehead and fired. She dropped the gun onto his body and collapsed onto Grayson. When his arms wrapped around her, she began to cry.

  “Are you okay?” he murmured.

“I’m ready,” she said, laughing despite her tears.

  “Ready for what?”

In spite of the pan it caused, Olivia maneuvered herself to be on one knee.

“Marry me?” she asked. “For real.”

  “Of course.”

She grinned. “Four kills compared to one. Which of us is the alpha again?”

  “Edward was already dead.”

  “So you say,” she teased.

He rubbed her back, and she winced.

“I’m sorry,” he murmured. “Come on. We better make ourselves scarce before the cops show up.”

Already, she could hear the sirens. Someone in the complex must’ve heard the gunshots and called the police.

“Werewolf scientists and werewolf cops,” she muttered. “That’s what we need.”

“And here I was thinking we need nice long baths, some unhealthy food, lots of desserts, some wine, and then a nice long sleep.”

  “Yes. Let’s do that.”

The two left the apartment. The cops could make what they wanted from the crime scene. They were outta there and ready to start the rest of their lives.

  Chapter 21

The next week had been a whirlwind of activity. Grayson and Olivia and the other werewolves who hadn’t been needed as backup minus Jasper had a meeting with ASS’s beta. Kevin Rought hadn’t agreed with his alpha and wanted peace more than they seemed to want it. He was a true beta through and through.

Kevin had feared for his life because he had tried to talk Alan out of attacking Detroit in the first place. He had also worried Edward would replace him. The pack had recently attacked another pack in Chicago and had survived greatly for it. The Chicago pack had claimed all of their females. They were desperate to find some, or else their pack would die out.

In the end, Grayson agreed to let them live in Detroit for a few weeks. Let them see the city. Maybe they could join their pack after all, peacefully and without a takeover.

After granting Kevin and his wolves that time, Grayson returned home. Olivia was already there, typing away.

  “Getting work done?” he asked.

He stretched. His body and wounds had all healed this past week, and so had Olivia’s. They had been so busy with dealing with the aftermath that they hadn’t had a chance to spend time together outside of talking, laughing, eating, and drinking. No time for any fun. He hoped she still wanted that, still wanted him.

She closed her computer. “Not this second.”

“No? What do you have in mind?”

“Hmm.” She stood, and he finally got a good look at her. She was wearing a sheer black lingerie number that had him hard instantly. “I wonder.”

  “I wonder too.”

He crossed over to the couch and lifted her into his arms. For the past week, they had been living together in his house, but they had been sleeping in the second guest room. Tonight, though, he carried her to his bed.

She shrieked when he laid her on the bed, but then she glanced all around the room. “Are you sure?”

He stripped off his shirt and pants in seconds. His cock jumped right out at her. “You tell me.”

Olivia licked her lips and got down on her knees, taking him into her mouth. Fuck. She knew how to use her tongue.

Far too quickly, he tensed up. “Olivia…”

She responded by sucking even harder.

  “If you don’t stop now…”

Olivia pulled away and stared up at him, her eyes shining. “Yes?” she asked and then licked her lips.

His cock jumped, but more importantly, so did his heart. He had been trying not to think about it, think about his feelings. All of this was happening so fast, but once he had given his heart to Patty, it had happened fast then too.

Grayson had tried to pretend that this was nothing, that it was just sex, that Olivia being in his life was only for the betterment of the pack and nothing more. But that wasn’t true. Not at all.

“What are you thinking about?” she murmured.

“That I love you,” he said simply.

Tears filled her eyes. “Not just because of the chaos, the danger, the threat?”

“Not at all. I want you in my life for me. Not just the pack. For me. You make me want to live again. You make me feel like myself. I want to host parties again. I want to show you the rest of Detroit. I want to help you with your dream of opening your own fashion line.”

Those tears threatened to fall, but she blinked them away.

“Anything else you want to do?” she asked with a glint in her eyes, loving glowing within her dark orbs.

  “I have a few ideas.”

He winked and laid her down. Slowly, leaving a trail of kisses and licks along the way, pausing to pay attention at her glorious boobs, he brought his mouth closer and closer to her pussy. She thrust her hips in frustration.

  “Stop teasing,” she groaned.

He chuckled. “Someone needs to learn a little patience.”

  “Or someone needs to—oh, fuck!”

Grayson had found her clit. At the same time, he shoved two fingers inside of her. She was so fucking wet, so incredibly tight. One of his hands reached up to grab her breast, while the other squeezed her ass, pulling her closer to him.

“Grayson!” she shrieked. “Oh my God.”

“You like that?” he asked, pulling away slightly.

  “You know I do.”

“What about this?” He slowly eased himself deep into her.

She shivered and rocked her hips. “Yes.”

Grayson pulled all the way out and re-entered her. “And that?”

  “Yes.”

  “What about—”

“Grayson Earle, if you don’t make love to me properly, I swear I’m going to go insane!”

“We can’t have that, can we?” He grinned. “Although I do like the idea of you going crazy on me.”

She groaned, but the way he moved his hips and thrust fast and hard and deep soon had those groans transform into moans. When he couldn’t hold back anymore, he could tell she was close to the edge. Her walls closed around him, and that was it. They climaxed at the same time, and he collapsed in a sweaty heap on top of her.

“That wasn’t half bad,” she teased, stroking his back.

  “Not half bad?
” He shook his head. “Killing me.”

For a long moment, they just held each other, happy and content, at peace with the world.

“Are you sure you want to get married still?” Grayson blurted out. He had a feeling she did, but he couldn’t forget that she hadn’t said I love you… at least not with words.

“Of course!” She slapped him playfully. “You know I do.”

  “I mean on your birthday.”

“Best birthday ever. I love you,” she whispered before kissing him.

Already, his cock was stirring again. “Ready for round two?” he asked.

“I thought you would never ask.”

  His Sole Soul

Grayson Earle never thought he could feel complete again after his wife died. Now, he's married another werewolf, and he's more than ready to show Olivia that she's his sole soul. Too bad Olivia doesn't appreciate surprises...

  Chapter 1

Grayson Earle woke up smiling and rolled over to find his bed empty. A few months ago, that would have made him depressed. Instead, his smile only grew as he inhaled deeply and smelled coffee but more importantly her.

Olivia. She wasn’t Moreno anymore. She was Olivia Earle, his wife and the new alpha female of the Detroit werewolf pack.

But she was more than just the alpha female. She was his rock. His anchor. The one who saved him from drowning in a sea of misery.

He threw off the covers and meandered to the kitchen. Wearing only one of his T-shirts, Olivia was standing at the counter making waffles. He waited until she finished pouring the batter to reach under the shirt and pinch her perky ass.

She jumped and whirled around. Before she could say anything, he captured her lips and rubbed against her.

Olivia opened her mouth, giving his tongue access as his hand gripped her ass, pulling her even closer and so he could rub harder against her.

She wrapped her arms around the back of his neck and jumped. Her legs squeezed him, and he held her up easily.
