"My guilt, it's too much. It won't let me sleep at night. It's like I was in a slumber and just woke up. I knew I was a marionette for Weldon but I was selfish because of my sister."

"I'd do anything for my brother," I said. “Work for Weldon, or sell my soul! Anything! That's called love."

The sirens were getting closer. "My brother's right," Colton spoke up, something he didn't do very often. "We know your situation, but these people won't. They might think you're an accomplice."

"Trey, you're good at living under the radar," I pointed out. "You can continue to do that. It won't be easy but it's better than going to prison."

Colton rushed to the edge of the rooftop and turned to us. "They're here."

"Trey," I said forcefully this time. “Run."

  TWELVE MONTHS LATER

  JAKE

The bar was so full, I felt uncomfortable. I went to the back so I could smoke and there was a couple, young, making out heavily and they didn’t even notice me. I hadn’t lit up when someone grabbed me from behind and pulled me into the shadows.

As I waited for them to speak, I was breathing heavily. The person lit up the lighter I was carrying and held it up. When I saw his face, I tried to push him away but he wouldn’t budge. “Let go of me.” Instead, he pushed back and grinded into me. He forced me into a kiss and that’s when I was truly mad. “Get the fuck off me, Trey!”

He looked at me. “I’m sorry.”

“Stop it, stop apologizing if you’re just going to do it again!”

“Jake, I know you’re mad but I was doing it for us, I promise!”

“Two weeks,” my voice choked up. “Two fucking weeks, Trey. I thought you were dead!”

“That’s not far from the truth,” he said.

“What? What are you talking about!”

“I found a way to kill Trey and become Alex Thompson.”

  “Trey…”

“You need to start addressing me as Alex.”

“So… we don’t have to hide anymore?”

“No,” he had a smug grin on his face.

  “You really mean that?”

“Look, if we keep a low profile and don’t become Nobel Laureates, we should be fine.”

“That sounds a little boring,” I said. “What if I end up solving world peace?”

“I suppose then you look for a new boyfriend,” Trey said. “Although I know how hard it is to stay away from me once you’ve had a taste.”

  “You’re so full of shit.”

  “How’s Colton?”

“He’s doing well, considering. I’m still sending him to therapy and he still resents me for it. He’s usually found in his room playing video games and pretending to study.”

  “Jake, I… I’m glad we’re bouncing back.”

“Why let the world stop us, right?”

  “Right.”

He pushed me into the wall and kissed me. “I’m so fucking horny.”

“We can get a room somewhere.”

  “But I’m horny now.”

I realized what he meant by that. “There is no way I’m…” but his mouth stopped me mid sentence. He turned me around and felt my ass through my jeans. I felt him unbuttoning his pants. He hastily pulled my pants down until my ass was fully exposed. The feel of his breath on my neck made my cock harden. He ran his hand all over and squatted down. And then his face was shoved into the crack of my ass, his mouth gently ran over my skin, licking, kissing, gently biting.

I placed my hands on the wall and let myself go. “I love you, Trey.”

He broke off and came up behind me. His tongue lightly grazed my ear. “I love you too, Jake.”

“Sometimes I feel like this is all a dream. That I’ll wake up and you’ll be gone.”

Trey turned me around. “I’ll die before I let that happen.”

He pushed me back into the wall. “Now shut up and let me fuck you.”
