As for Amanda, her life had changed as well. Her first victory was being able to overturn those divorce papers in court that Matt had forced her to sign. She regained all of her assets as well as Matt’s. This allowed her to start a new life, something she was forced to do when she gave birth to twin boys. She became a mother with Volanda and Ghetti at her bedside. Having that void finally filled in her life, Amanda was able to end her sexual relationship with Verenity on good terms. Selling the home she once shared with Matt, Amanda now called Selma, North Carolina home. She was breastfeeding one of the twins that she and Ghetti were blessed with.
Ghetti and Amanda were living together, both being afraid of the ultimate commitment of marriage. One thing that stood true between them was their love for each other. Ghetti had fully overcome his bias views based on Amanda being white. In truth, did it really matter? Through time, they became one through the good times and the bad.
Being a father had him facing reality. He left those harsh streets alone and signed up to get his GED, something he earned three weeks ago. Building on his dream, he was moving forward to start a football league for kids. When he wasn’t doing that, he was working a steady job in Raleigh detailing cars. This would only be something for the time being. Deep down, he was out to prove to himself that he had broken the lure of the street and that pace for fast money and easy sex. Ghetti was able to do it and do what many black men are afraid to do . . . change for the better and mature.
