Hot Match

by Tierney O'Malley

“I know. I’ll tell you everything. We could have a cup of coffee somewhere while we talk.”

“Talk about your planet Rhyn. Big guy, I may be a drop-out, but I know there is no planet Rhyn. Oh, my God. I shouldn’t even talk to you. Goodnight.”

“It’s a star born in the galaxy. Only a few million years younger than the sun.”

  “Ahh…so you’re an alien.” What a kook.

“You could say that. But not the kind you see in movies.”

Jade could see that. He didn’t have a cone shaped head or gnarly fingers. Kyr was hotter than any celebrities she’d seen on magazines. Unfortunately, he had a screw loose. “Well, since this job is going to be outside of the planet, I can’t accept your offer. My car won’t make it up there.” She pointed her finger up in the sky without taking her gaze off Kyr.

“I know you think I’m crazy, but what I said is true. If you agree to help, I will reward you. You won’t have to worry about your rent, bills, food. There won’t be a need for you to dance on stage, and…you could start painting again.”

“How did you… Oh, no. You’ve searched me online, didn’t you? You’re a stalker. Kyr, you seem to be a nice guy, but I’ll scream for the cops if you don’t leave.”

“Name your price—ten, twenty, one hundred million dollars.”

She felt her mouth open on its own. “What! Okay, I’m broke, but not stupid. Nobody offers a pole dancer one hundred million dollars. What, you want me to join the Star Trek squad in order to save your…I’m out of here. You’re wasting my time.”

Angry voices made her look back at the bar. Brad and his ugly entourage were coming toward them with their baseball bats.

“We have to go. Brad’s coming. Nice talking to you.”

“I can break them all in half.”

“Uhm, I don’t know what kind of alien you are, but there are eleven of them. I don’t want you to get hurt because of me. So, you go. And I go. Buh bye now.”

“We’ll take my car, yours is leaking oil.”

Jade noticed the oil, too. She glanced at Brad and his group. They all looked like lions stalking their prey. They’d catch her before she could even start her junk car. Damn, she had to hitch a ride with this stranger after all. “Didn’t know Porsches could fly to another planet. I know this is a sports—”

“Jade! Baby, get in the car.”

“Fine.” Jade opened the Porsche’s door in a hurry and buckled herself in.

  Chapter Two

“You’re fucking dead, asshole!” Brad held his bat in front of him. The others were doing all kinds of shit with their bats, trying to scare him. Idiots.

“Stay where you are, Brad. Jade doesn’t want me to break your neck. ”

“Fuck you. You’re not leaving this place breathing.”

Jade stuck her head out the window. “Kyr, just get in the car!”

“Stay in the car, baby.” He grinned at her retort for calling her baby.

  “Take my warning, Brad.”

“Kill that son of a bitch!”

  * * * *

All at once, Brad’s goons ran toward him. He raised his hand with his palm facing the men. They all stopped. He knew they could see his eyes flashing green. He grinned before sending the men flying backward using an unseen force. They all landed on the ground with a loud thud. Some of them moved, some didn’t, most likely shocked or in severe pain.

He wished it were that easy to defeat his enemies. He could have saved more Rhynians.

Jade had already buckled herself in when he slid in his seat. Kyr reversed his car, then stopped when he was inches away from the men still struggling to get up. The looks on their faces showed they still didn’t comprehend what had just happened. He shifted his gear to drive, stepped on the gas and took off, spraying dirt and rocks behind him. Through the rearview mirror, he could see the bastards trying to avoid getting peppered by rocks. Eat dust, sons of bitches.

He took the freeway exit. Saint Edward Apartments was located on the northeast shore of Lake Washington, approximately four miles southwest of Bothell, on Juanita Drive in King County. He knew the place because he’d followed Jade home every night. The fact that he had her in his car relaxed him a bit.

That first time seeing her get out of her car cursing because she hated working at the strip bar, he knew that she was the perfect woman for him. He knew it right away. Something about her made his skin tingle. From then on, he’d watched Jade from a distance. No one affected him the way Jade did. She was the one. Convincing her that they were a hot match, however, wouldn’t be that easy. After all, what he would ask her to do wasn’t simple. She already thought of him as a loony. What would she think if he asked her to carry his child?

Damn, he needed her to agree. If she did, he would accomplish his first purpose for landing on earth.

“What did you do to Brad?”

  “Scare them.”

“How? You just stood there and said nothing. Well, I saw you raise your hand.”

“You really want to know what I did?” Maybe this would be the good time to prove he was a Rhynian.

  “Sure.”

Shifting his gear, he slowed the car down and pulled over on the shoulder. “Look at me.” He stared at Jade until his eyes glowed and swirled like the eye of a storm. Instead of grayish white, though, he knew his eyes were vivid green.

“Oh, my God! Where did you get those contact lens?”

  Kyr laughed. “These are real.”

“Yeah, right. Kids could get those from Party Central for Halloween.”

“Baby, not these kind. Now look at the gravel on the road.” He raised his hand and made a short pushing motion. The gravel started moving to form a rabbit.”

“Oh. My God. Why didn’t you tell me? You’re an awesome magician or trickster or something. I love magic!”

“Some may call what I just did magic, but to us Rhynians, that’s power.” He shifted in his seat. Jade was making him uncomfortable. Her sensual mouth was so arousing that his skin color was rapidly changing. Luckily, it was a bit dark in the car. She couldn’t see him turning green. Ever since he’d laid eyes on her, his body yearned to touch her. He burned for her.

He pulled from the shoulder in a hurry and drove two times over the speed limit, and it wasn’t because he loved the thrill, but because of Jade’s presence. Her body heat affected his senses. Her long, silky smooth legs and partly exposed breasts weren’t helping either. If this continued, he’d be dark green before they reached her apartment.

  “You’re a real alien?”

“I believe that’s what you guys call us.”

  “I can’t believe this. I don’t believe you.”

  “You’re not afraid?”

  “Should I be?”

“No,” he grinned. He was glad she didn’t go batshit on him. Not that he entertained the thought. It was just…she surprised him.

“I’m just having a hard time believing you.”

And I’m having a hard time myself believing you’re so close to me. Talking to me. “I understand.”

  “So you’re an alien.”

  “I prefer Rhynian.”

“Okay. I wonder, does the government know that you guys exist?”

  “I think they have ideas.”

  “Can I touch you?”

Kyr’s cock pulsed at the idea. “Shit,” he mumbled.

  “No, then.”

  “Sorry. I didn’t mean…Yeah, you can.”

Jade grinned as if he’d just offered her a cone of chocolate ice cream. She touched his arm with the pad of her index finger. It was a butterfly touch, but enough to send heat all over his body to his already hard cock.

  “You feel real.”

  “I am real, baby.”

“Discovery Channel is right about you guys, then. Aliens do exist.”

  “We do.”

“Man, can I tell Pam about you?”

“Would you believe her if she was the one to tell you about me?”<

“Point taken. But I will still tell her that I met you.” Jade smiled with the tip of her tongue visible in between her teeth. “A cute alien who saved me.”

Kyr gripped the steering wheel and noticed his hands were already tinged with green. Damn it. He must reach her home before she noticed. Jade might freak out this time and not agree to help him. When he came to earth to find the right person, he had little hope that he’d find someone, one that could actually turn him green. But here she was. He hoped the others were as lucky as he was.

“Aren’t you going a bit too fast?”

“This is slow compared to how we drive in Rhyn.”

  “You have cars in Rhyn?”

“Yeah. Better than this, though. Ours are like your European cars, but ten times better and armoured.”

  “Nice.”

Kyr heard envy in Jade’s voice. “But cars are cars. As long as it can take you here and there, doesn’t matter if you’re driving a Porsche or Subaru.”

“True. Don’t know about your road rules, but here we have to follow the speed limit signs. And you know, the speed limit in my neighborhood is only fifteen miles per hour. You can’t even drive during Halloween. Cops are everywhere. If you get caught, they’ll give you a ticket for speeding. And you have to show your car insurance, too. ‘Cause that’s another ticket for you if you don’t have it. Do you even have a driver’s license? Or any identification?”

“Don’t need one. I’m an alien, remember.” He winked at Jade, making her laugh.

“You know, there are many aliens in this country. Like Pam for example, the Filipina friend of mine. But she’s got an ID. Maybe not the illegal aliens, though.”

“You’re referring to the immigrants. I am not an immigrant. You could say I’m just a…tourist.”

“You still need an ID. How did you get this car?”

“Gave the car salesman an early bonus.”

“You bribed the salesman with your millions.”

Kyr glanced at Jade. Her hair was finger-brushed. So fucking sexy. He looked away before his dick could poke a hole through his jeans. “Had to.”

  “Do you really have millions?”

  “Check the glove box.”

Jade opened the compartment in front of her. She pulled out a wad of cash. “Wow. You didn’t steal this, did you?”

“No.” He looked at Jade and waited to see more of her reactions to his money. None followed her initial wow. She simply put the money back and closed the glovebox.

He took exit 175 and followed the road to Bothell, leaving the glittering lights of the big city of Seattle behind them. He continued driving until they reached Saint James Apartment. Jade lived on the second floor.

“And how did you know where I live?”

Kyr glanced at Jade then flashed her a grin. “I’ve been watching you.”

“You’re creeping me out, you know that?”

“But deep inside you, you still want to trust me. I can see it in your eyes. You hardly think ill of anyone. That’s what got you into trouble when you were younger.”

He was right. “So you didn’t just follow me, you studied my background. That makes you a horrible creep.”

“No. I’m an alien who knows how to use a computer. Your juvie record is easy to find.”

“Oh lord. That’s embarrassing. You checked everything about me?”

Disbelief coated Jade words. He felt like a jerk for intruding into her private life, but it was necessary. “I apologize.”

“You had to do it, right?”

Kyr nodded. He wouldn’t snoop if it weren’t important.

“I wonder if Steve did a background check on me online, saw that I’ve been in jail and then took off. Couldn’t blame him. I would probably do the same thing. And then there was Larry…”

“They are losers, baby.” He didn’t want to hear anything about her exes. It made him angry. “Shall I park here or in the back?”

  “Why are you parking?”

“I thought maybe I could go up for a cup of coffee or tea.”

“Are all aliens like you? Do you always invite yourself in people’s houses in Rhyn?”

  “No. Only if I’m thirsty.”

Jade laughed, then shook her head. “In that case, you can come in. No alien business, though.”

Kyr chuckled. Since the attack on Rhyn, he couldn’t remember the last time he had enjoyed a good laugh.

  Chapter Three

Jade shouldn’t have invited him in, but her stupid tongue wouldn’t cooperate. Instead of saying no, she’d said yes. Something about him compelled her to say and think the opposite. Kyr was beyond handsome and she was attracted to him. And her guts told her there was more to him than just being good looking. Okay, yeah, he’d already proved that he was a true alien, but she could feel more.

She watched Kyr move around her apartment, checking her unfinished paintings, touching the couch, inspecting her tubes of paint. He made her one room studio looked even smaller. When he stood by her bed, she noticed a green tinge on his arm. She’d noticed his skin color while they were in the car. Now the color looked different. Was it spreading, or just her eyes playing tricks on her? Jade stood closer to Kyr. He surprised her by moving to the far side of the room.

  “You have a charming apartment.”

“Thanks. I won’t be offended if you say the truth, you know.”

“Okay. You’re apartment looks like it got hit by a tornado.”

“Yeah, a tornado named Jade.” She decided to drive head on into the issue at hand. “So when did you figure out I am the one who could help you?”

“When I saw you dance a month ago.” He leaned on the windowsill, each hand planted on his sides.

“Yeah, but there were other dancers there. What made you think that it’s me you need?”

  “My color.”

  “What?”

He showed her his arms with his palms out. “I turned green.”

Jade stared at his arms. His skin looked darker now. “You mean your whole body turned green like that?”

“Yes. Like the color of my eyes.”

Highly curious, Jade took a few steps closer to Kyr. It was amazing. She could actually see his green color spread across his arms and neck. “So it wasn’t my eyes going goofy on me when I noticed your arm changing color.”

  “Yes.”

“How did I make you turn green?”

“I turn green when I feel excited toward a female. Standing this close to you, I feel warm all over. I want to f—”

Jade covered his mouth with her hand. “I get it.”

Like spilled red wine on a white tablecloth, his face now resembled the green shade of a forest. She let go, but Kyr grabbed her hand. “I’ve offered many women before you, touched them the way I am now, but none of them had this same effect on me.”

  “None of them?”

“Yes. Only you, Jade. Please don’t be afraid. I’m not going to harm you.”

She’d just met this guy, but fear wasn’t what she was feeling right now. Curiosity, bewilderment, shock perhaps, but not fear. In fact, she liked him, though alien he might be. How in the world was that even possible? He was a freaking alien that turned green when in heat!

It could be that she’d met enough assholes in her life that a green alien looked nice, decent, and harmless. Not to mention, he was one cute green alien, more so than Kermit the Frog. “I believe you.”

Kyr took Jade’s hand and kissed her palm. Instantly, her senses started reeling. The feel of his mouth against hers was so warm it ignited every living cell in her body, alerting them.

The last time she’d felt like this was during Halloween. She was only fifteen. Her friends egged her on to eat all the candies she had collected in her pillowcase. Her heart pumped so fast. Her friends said she was experiencing a sugar-high. And right now, her blood-sugar level was really off the chart. She had never been this excited before. And Kyr was only kissing her palm, her wrist…forearm…

  “Jade, will you help me?”

“I—I don’t know. What do you want me to do, exactly?”

“I need you to keep the Rhynian’s line alive.”

“What? Are you suggesting what I think you are suggesting?”

  “Carry my seed, love.”

Kyr licked her palm. Her pussy throbbed. Green lines like seaweed lined his face.

  Oh, my God.

“I just met you not even an hour ago. I like you, but it’ll take me at least a week to come up with an answer. Even married couples still plan pregnancy and raising a family.”

“I don’t have time to wait, Jade. My father gave us all enough time to find a woman. My time here is almost up.”

“There are more of your kind here on earth?”

“Yes. Two of my brothers are here, too.”

“How long have you guys been here on Earth?”

“Me, three years. Cor two and Syd one. We’re doing this on rotation. My time is up this year.”

  “What do you mean?”

“I have to go back, love. Whether I found my match or not. My youngest brother, War, will come here to replace me and I will take up his position as an adjutant. We serve under our father, who is a senior officer.”

Weird. But for some odd reason she didn’t like the idea of Kyr leaving. “How long do you have left here?”

  “A month.”

Jade nodded. She still had reservations about Kyr’s offer. After all, what he just told her was too farfetched. But why feel sad about the thought of Kyr leaving? Damn it. “What about the women on your planet? Can’t you just ask them?”

“I wouldn’t be here if there were women capable of bearing a child left in Rhyn.”

Sadness flittered across Kyr’s face. It was brief, but she saw it. “I’m sorry.” She truly was. Absentmindedly, she moved the lock of hair from his forehead to the side. “So you’re in a bind. I am, too.” That was true. Having a baby had never crossed her mind. Getting married wasn’t even in her short list. She couldn’t even cook. What would she do with a baby? “How about…well, couldn’t we just have sex? I mean, I’ll do it for fifty grand. How about that? And you find a woman willing to carry a baby for nine months next time you come back here.” Soon after her suggestion left her mouth, she regretted it.
