The past couple weeks have felt like I’ve been on cloud nine. It’s been wonderful, but now that things are changing I really need to know what I’ve missed in the last several lunars. I felt it was about time I filled in the gap between my abduction with the Viktoids and when my mates rescued me from their awful ship. Honestly, I probably should’ve done this sooner, but couldn’t bring myself to do it. I was lucky to have a happy ending when so many others did not, and diving into reality just makes my abduction more real.
I sit down and pull up the net. Then nothing. I draw a blank, not knowing what to even search for. So I do what anyone else would, I start searching through the news channels for articles about Ildunin Station and the Diamond Nebula Spa.
Surprisingly, there’s not much. In fact, there’s no mention of anyone being abducted from the station at all. I don’t know whether to laugh at the absurdity of them thinking I’m still there, or feel sick that something so awful happened and no one gave a damn. Or maybe they just covered it up? Did they assume I just up and left?
I decide that I’m both angry and sick.
Sighing, I scroll through more articles and read random snippets about more aliens joining the Galactic Alliance. There was an article about a treaty between Ulik 4 and Terrasp. Huh. I thought they would never settle their differences after one of them blew up the other’s moon…
Just as I’m about to click something about a celebrity from Earth, something blinks green on the dashboard. Unsure of what it is, I try to click it off, but it doesn’t work.
“Ca’lek? Va’nir? Is that you?” a feminine voice echoes through the room just as a new window pops on the view screen.
The beautiful Memphidaean on the screen wears nothing but a flimsy gown that barely hides her curves. She sits seductively on a chair, her finger trailing down the center of her chest, legs partly spread open. The sight of her has me in shock, which quickly turns to anger.
My hands ball into fists, and a growl escapes my lips. I didn’t even realize I could growl.
“Who the hell are you?” she demands, closing her legs and sitting up.
“Excuse m—”
“Sa’rin?!” Ca’lek chokes in a flat, subdued tone.
I turn my head a fraction, noticing my mates have arrived. I must’ve been so preoccupied I didn’t hear them come in. Va’naar quickly rushes towards me, clasps my shoulder and assists me from the chair while Ca’lek hurries to sit down.
Va’naar tries to escort me into the bedroom, but I grab the doorframe and hold onto it for dear life, watching in horror as Ca’lek speaks to this other female.
“Ca’lek! Who is the female I just saw?”
Ca’lek sputters, as if unsure of what to say. A knot forms in my stomach.
What is this? What the hell is going on?
“That female is of no concern,” he finally admits in a tight voice.
“Of no concern? Do not lie to me Ca’lek. I can plainly see you are in your private quarters. What is another female doing there?”
A wave of anger rushes through my body while I listen to Sa’rintalk to Ca’lek while Va’naar continues to pull me further away from him.
He doesn’t answer immediately.
“When my sires hear about this—” Sa’rin begins to say.
“The human is Messa’s assistant. We found her abandoned on a colony ship we raided and Messa just couldn’t help herself and brought her on board. Messa must have sent her here to fix my uh…vidscreen. It hasn’t been working as of late. I’ll tell Messa not to send the human in here again,” Ca’lek interrupts.
“Polly, let’s go. You don’t need to see this,” Va’naar urgently whispers in my ear.
“And Messa too. I don’t care if she is mated to Durrek. No female should be in your quarters except for your Intended. Or would you dishonor our mating contract so easily,” Sa’rin adds.
“Of course not,” Ca’lek replies, his ears flattening so hard against his head that I can’t even see them. “Apologies Sa’rin. This call was unexpected, so I really must be going now.”
“What?" her whiny voice complains loudly. “But you haven’t responded to any of my comms and have made no effort to comfort me while you are away. And, you postponed our mating ceremony, just so that you could acquire more of this Vonda serum. Am I not important enough for you to pay attention to?”
Again, Ca’lek doesn’t answer right away.
Suddenly, all the anger I was feeling dissipates. When we first mated, I felt horrible that my new mates would be leaving their Intended hanging, and just now, I was angry that this female was contacting them in an obvious attempt at seduction. But I realize those feelings are unfair. Sa’rin doesn’t know about any of this, and why would she?
Ca’lek and Va’naar want out of the contact because they don’t love her, but they can’t claim me just yet. They have to keep a low profile until they see the Council and get the contract rescinded. Is it a little cruel? Maybe. But so is being forced to spend the rest of your life with someone you didn’t choose.
Either things will go well and Ca’lek will be able to dissolve his mating contract or...well I don’t actually want to think about the alternative. Call me selfish, but I love my mates and the new life I’m building for myself. I can’t bear to have it all taken away.

It’s been hours since the near disaster of Sa’rin calling while I was on the comm unit. She has been occupying my mate on that screen doing heaven knows what. And what’s worse is I can hear them through the walls. Her voice whines and berates him in turn. And his replies are nothing but polite and almost cowed. Just a series of yes’ and of course’s.
Not jealous…not jealous at all, I tell myself, releasing a huff of air.
“I’m sure he’ll be off the call shortly,” Va’naar whispers in my ear. His arms curl tightly around me while he tries to comfort me.
I hardly believe that, but I don’t say it out loud.
“It’s not that. It’s just…I want to hate her. I want to be mad at her, but I can’t. I know you guys have your reasons for not wanting to mate her, but I’d be fuming right now if I was her too. No comms, finding a strange female in your quarters. All I’m saying is that I understand where she’s coming from.”
“That makes one of us, my sweet mate,” Ca’lek says, plopping down on the bed next to us, looking utterly depleted. He doesn’t even look over to face us when he continues speaking. “I’ve managed to convince her that you were no one and everything is fine. I almost felt bad too, until she started yapping away about that damned house she ordered me to buy in Skyland Park.”
“What house in Skyland Park?” Va’naar asks.
Ca’lek sighs and scratches the top of his head. “She sent a message the day we rescued Polly. She wants it as a mating gift. I meant to tell you, but things happened and well…”
I grab my mate’s hand and kiss it. “I’m so sorry. This is all my fault.”
“No. We’ve already talked about this. None of us planned this. There was no malevolence here…despite what she might think when she does find out. Speaking of which, we have a serious problem.”
Va’naar groans and slaps his face. “Another one? Please tell me it’s something that can be dealt with later. I’m in no mood to get out of this bed right now. I’m drained. It feels like that call sucked all the good feelings I’ve had since our raid on the Viktoids.”
Ca’lek turns to face us, looking so serious that a tremor runs down my back, making me gulp. “Sa’rin proudly bragged that her uncle was voted onto the Council this last lunar cycle. That means he’s going to be there when we have our audience.”
And just like that, my life shatters once again.
Chapter 14
Ca’lek
My comm quietly beeps an alert and I roll out of bed to check it, annoyed at the disturbance that pulls me from the arms of my mate. Memories of last night immediately flood my thoughts, but I push them away. I don’t need the thr
eat of Sa’rin’s uncle on the Council ruining my day already.
Va’naar lets out a loud snore when I jostle him by accident. With a grumble, Polly reaches out, lazily patting his face. He mutters something incoherent and turns over, the snores quieting. I shake my head, then turn back to my comm when it beeps again.
“What is it?” I say, lowering my voice as I stride out of our den and into the sitting room.
“I thought you’d like to know we’ve arrived in orbit.”
“Vren, already? We weren’t scheduled to arrive for another cycle!”
“Aye, Messa pulled an all-nighter, tweaking the engines so we could arrive early. She says surprise by the way. I guess she wanted to make sure Polly had as much time as possible to settle in and prepare before your spawn arrive. Is everything alright?”
“Yeah, everything is fine” I grumble, not wanting to explain the stress of my previous night. “Give her my thanks, Duresh. Now, it appears that I have a busy morning ahead of me, so comm me again when we receive permission to land.”
Returning to the bedroom, I stand over my mate and secondary for a moment. Va’naar has rolled back towards Polly, wrapping his arms around her, he buries his nose in her hair. They both smell of sex and musk. It’s the same scent that clings to my fur and it is the most incredible thing I’ve ever smelled. I want to drown in that scent everyday.
What did I do to deserve such an amazing family?
The need to get beneath the covers and join them makes my tail bristle and my cock harden. I worry over what the future holds for us. They are my world and I want to hold them forever, but I ignore the desire to return to bed. I want Polly to see my homeworld first. It’s never more beautiful than when I see it from space. I wish to share that with her.
Leaning down, I place gentle kisses on the top of her crown. She murmurs sleepily and blinks. Her eyelids open and her green eyes stare back at me.
“Morning,” she says, yawning.
“Good morning,” I reply, gently batting Va’naar’s hands away from her. He stirs, moving to sit up. “Go back to sleep,” I order in a quiet, but stern voice. He stretches out with a lazy yawn of his own and rolls over, returning to his obnoxious snoring within moments.
And he complained about my snoring.
I roll my eyes and shake my head at the sounds coming from him now.
Polly giggles at my expression as I scoop her up in my arms. “That wasn’t nice.”
“Bah, he needs his rest. Clearly, he hasn’t been getting much since we’ve mated.”
My mate snorts. “That’s hardly my fault. Where are you taking me?”
“It is entirely your fault my love and I’m not telling, it’s a surprise.”
“Keeping secrets are we?” she asks, raising a brow.
Human eyebrows are such silly things. It’s the only fur on her face and she can make them jump up and down like fuzzy little gohinki worms. They seem to have no real use at all, but they make her expressions much more adorable.
“Not a secret. You’ll find out in just a moment,” I reply as I walk back to the sitting room.
Her expression turns pensive and she combs her fingers through the fur of my chest.
“What troubles you?” I ask.
“Just thinking about last night and Sa’rin’s uncle being on the Council. It’s really bad isn’t it?”
I exhale heavily before answering. “It...isn’t ideal, no. Her uncle is a newly appointed Elder and won’t have nearly as much influence as the Eldest, but he is still a Council member. That could cause problems.”
“I just...I can’t stand the thought of losing you or Va’naar. I’m scared, Ca’lek. I’m really scared.”
“Fear is a truly evil thing. It steals the breath from your lungs and the strength from your legs. It makes smart men fools and brave men cowards. It is a useless and horrible waste of emotion, but it permeates even the best parts of our lives. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t also afraid, but I will tell you this. Despite all my worries, I won’t allow my fear to take a single moment of time with you. Every second with you and Va’naar is a treasure that overflows my heart.”
“You’re right. I don’t want to waste our time worrying. I know the threat to our mating is real, but we’ll get through it,” she says, sighing as her hands play with the beads hanging from my mane. I won’t admit it out loud, but it had made me very happy when she asked if I’d like for her to braid some of her sun beads into my fur like she’d done for Va’naar.
I need to focus more on the sweet moments I have with my mate and bonded than the shitstorm of my upcoming meeting with the Council. I was so sure we had them with the evidence my sires presented, but now...now I don’t know if I have much of a case to petition if Sa’rin’s uncle somehow interferes.
Vren...why did I have to say something last night? I should have kept my mouth shut.
“Your fur is so silky, these are already coming loose. I’ll have to reweave them soon.”
“Later, I have something you need to see.” Waving my hand over the panel on the wall, I turn off the privacy shield on the viewing window in the sitting room. The screens slide up into the ceiling, exposing our orbit around Mephida. The light filtering in causes Polly to turn her head in interest and I set her down on her feet.
“This is enchanting,” my mate says with intense awe, as she takes a few steps closer to the screen, placing a hand against the pane while she inspects my home planet. I give her a moment to view the planet as a whole, then zoom in on the region we would be landing in.
I circle behind her, nuzzling my face in the crook of her neck and inhale deeply. Her rich scent awakens my desires. Covering her hand with my own, I whisper in her ear. “It most certainly is. Tell me what you see.”
Her head drifts to the side ever so slightly, exposing the creamy skin of her neck. My tongue dips out as I lap at her flesh, tasting her light and airy flavor across my tongue. She shivers.
“There’s so many rivers. It’s like a webbing of sorts, connecting all the pieces together,” she says.
I nip her earlobe gently. “And?”
“I’ve never seen water that color before,” she says when I trail a finger over her bare shoulder. “It’s so clear and turquoise. And the lines of green. What are they?”
“Thick veins of minerals under the water,” I reply, lifting her hair from her neck to kiss the spot back there that makes her shiver again. “What else do you see?”
“The flatter areas of land are purple and along the edges of those green and gold areas over there,” she says as my free hand slips around to lightly grip her breast. She moans and arches into my palm. I pinch her puckered nipple which hardens against my fingers.
“The purple is a moss that only grows in the sunlight,” I say, grinding my hard cock into her supple ass.
She moans and pushes her ass back. “Please Ca’lek, I need you”
“What else do you see?” I demand, nipping her again. She gasps and looks over her shoulder at me.
“Seriously? You want a description now?”
“What else do you see?” I repeat, slowing the strokes of my hand over her skin.
“I think I see snow, is that snow? Please, tell me it’s snow because what you’re doing is driving me wild and I can’t think,” she begs.
“That’s the point. I don’t want you thinking. I just want you melting against me.” My hand dips down between her thighs to play with her clit. She’s hot, wet, and so damn ready for me.
“It’s really, really pretty,” she pants. “What am I supposed to see?”
“A place to call home.” I nip her again. “Our home.”
“It’s beautiful, but anywhere you are is home. I don’t need a planet as long as I have you, Va’naar, and our babies.”
Her words strike me like a bolt of lightning, shattering how I saw things. As much as I love my homeworld, I love her and Va’naar more. As long as they were with me, we have a home and a family. Perhaps before
I met Polly, I wasn’t focused on such things, but I guess mating changes this perception.
Snarling, I bite her shoulder and thrust into her heat. One hand holds her pelvis against mine, while the other is braced on the window. She mewls with pleasure and arches her hips, taking me deeper. I rock into her again and again, then hold her tightly, desperate to imprint my essence into her soul.
Does she have any idea how far I would go for her? Does she have any idea how it would destroy me to even consider losing her?
Polly moans, panting harshly as I move my hand from her hip down towards her slit again, finding her sensitive clit and press into it. Her hand reaches back, then painfully grips my tail in response. It makes me growl and thrust faster. I’m practically pinning her to the window. She bucks back into me with a moan.
“I love it when you lose control,” she whines breathlessly, her head tilted back on my chest.
“Lose control with me,” I demand, nipping her again while stroking her clit in endless circles.
Polly shatters, screaming my name. Her velvety sheath clamps down on my cock and I cum, hard. My teeth bite down on her shoulder once more, holding her in place as I spill every last drop of my seed into her. If she wasn’t already pregnant, I’m sure she would be now. She shudders as the spasms of her body squeeze my knot. I pull out quickly so we aren’t locked together, there’s no time for that today. I immediately hurt from the loss.
“Fuck it,” I snarl.
“Huh?” she asks quietly, her body trembling under my hands.
She whimpers as I thrust back in, wedging my knot behind her pubic bone and locking us together. I hiss at the heavenly sensation of her cunt clamping tightly around my dick. She squirms as if to dislodge me, but I hold her firmly until I’m fully swollen and she’s trapped.
Polly’s breath saws in and out of her lungs as she shivers against me. Her knees are so wobbly, she might have fallen if I weren’t holding her up. Resting my chin on top of her head, I struggle to catch my own breath.
