“What does that mean?” Roy crossed his arms. He hadn’t expected it to go easy, but it had turned right away in a direction he hadn’t seen coming.
“That telling me that, although appreciated, doesn’t hold out when you show up in our office with that other guy you want,” Bill told him. “Especially after you go visit him without telling me.”
Then he leaned forward and rested his elbows on his desk and Roy relaxed. That was Bill’s ‘stand down’ gesture. He still wasn’t happy about the situation, but he didn’t want to fight about it, either.
“Why are you both here then?”
Roy gestured Adrian to sit on one of the chairs in front of Bill’s desk before taking the other. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you I was going,” he said upfront. “In hindsight, it was stupid to expect you wouldn’t find out—”
“Oh, God, stop,” Adrian said, sagging in his seat, but Roy was busy looking at Bill, whose face closed off again.
“Wouldn’t find out from someone else.” Roy stressed the last part. “I was going to tell you after the fact. I wouldn’t hide it from you.”
“You couldn’t hide if from me, you mean,” Bill told him, sitting back in his chair.
Roy bristled at the implication. The fact that Bill would smell Adrian on him whether he said anything or not had no difference in this. He hadn’t hidden anything from Bill for the last ten—no, for over twenty—years now.
Bill had to have read everything Roy hadn’t said just now on his face, because he sighed and rubbed his forehead, breaking their eye contact.
“Fine, you wouldn’t hide it from me. So why do it in the first place? Were you afraid I was going to say no? Better to ask forgiveness than permission? Was that it?”
Roy glanced at Adrian, who was searching between the two of them in silence now, then he turned to Bill again. “I was afraid you were going to say no, but that’s because you’d want to know why I wanted to see him, and you would know I wasn’t telling you the whole truth and you’d get hurt—and angry, too. And you’d say no or I would cave and just tell you everything, and—” Roy paused and grimaced. “It’s coming out all wrong.”
Adrian shook his head, bouncing his good leg up and down. “Is he always so bad at this?” His voice was shaky at the start, but his dry humor seemed to push him through the obvious nerves.
Roy frowned then he realized Adrian was staring at Bill. He was asking Bill about him.
“No,” both Roy and Bill said at the same time.
“Thank God, because otherwise I’d have to wonder how you’d lasted so long without killing him.” Adrian’s joke didn’t quite land right, but Roy appreciated him trying. He was all for Adrian and Bill bonding, even if he was the butt of the joke.
He needed to get to the point faster, though. “I went to Adrian before talking to you because I wanted to ask him something first. If he’d said no, the matter would be closed. If he’d said yes, I’d come to you and ask. I wanted you to have the final choice.”
Bill looked between the two of them. “I assume he said yes if he’s here. What’s the question then?”
Bill wasn’t stupid. He had to know by now why they were here. It should make it easier for Roy to ask.
It didn’t.
Finally, he took a deep breath, exhaled slowly and made himself jump off the cliff.
“I want you, and I want him. That’s not a secret at this point. But I also know there’s something there,” he said, gesturing between Bill and Adrian without turning away from his partner. “So what if the three of us would…?”
He bit his lower lip, hoping Bill would guess. Hoping Bill would guess at least enough.
But Adrian, apparently, preferred everything to be spelled out.
“He wants us to have a threesome.”
Chapter Nine
“He wants us to have a threesome,” said the guy Bill’s partner had been half in love with for ten years.
And Bill would laugh, perhaps, if there wasn’t an absolute mayhem of emotions happening inside him as he was left trying to make sense of it all, whether he wanted to or not.
He felt like he’d been on a damn roller coaster ever since Adrian Marlow had arrived in town. Any time he’d thought he was maybe getting off that ride, something had happened to push him onto it again. And somewhere along the way he’d realized he was no longer struggling with only Roy’s emotions anymore. His growing…awareness of Adrian had messed him up, too.
And now the two of them were proposing a threesome.
The warning bells in his head were fighting with the rush of heat that ran through him, igniting his body and overwhelming his senses. The fear that just a few minutes ago was like an acid inside him now disappeared, cowed into a corner by the need to take, and mark, and claim.
And Roy wasn’t the only one Bill wanted to mark—or claim.
Then there was that synchronizing heartbeat thing again. He remembered it from after the accident, but now it was hard to miss.
Bill stared at Roy for a long moment, searching for—he wasn’t sure what. A sign that it was an ultimatum? Traces of doubt? Something that would make it easy for him to say no?
But as he watched Roy, who stared back with an open expression of love and trust, along with desire, Bill realized he didn’t want to say no. He was scared, yes, but he was no longer scared of losing what he had with Roy.
Instead, he was afraid of the things he didn’t know—things he’d never experienced, hadn’t even thought about. Roy was what kept him grounded right now. It was Adrian who was a gamble.
Bill sucked his lower lip into his mouth as he turned his gaze to Adrian and let himself really look. The man had to be nervous, judging from how his leg bounced up and down and how his scent had gotten sharper, but he still stared straight at Bill despite it all, his pupils dilated under the scrutiny.
He wanted Bill. It wasn’t just a way to have Roy, to get him into bed. No. Adrian’s gaze dropped to his mouth and his breath caught when Bill let go of his lower lip with a quiet pop. His heartbeat picked up then settled back to their shared rhythm, but Bill was left to wonder what it would take to make him lose control, make him let go.
Back at the scene of the accident, Adrian had complied with everything Bill had said. Would he be willing to listen in the bedroom, too?
Bill’s cock hardened at that.
“Any rules we need?” he said in a low, throaty tone he reserved for Roy.
Both men in front of him stared at him in silence as their heartbeats sped up. He rubbed his hand over his chest without thinking but it seemed to settle all three of them.
“Is that a no?” He had to be sure.
Both Roy and Adrian shook their heads.
Fuck. That was it. They were going to do this.
Bill got up. “Let’s go then.”
Adrian blinked at him but stood up, as well. “Now?” He glanced from him to Roy and back.
“Why wait?” Bill asked, even as he looked down at Adrian’s foot and frowned. “Unless you can’t—”
“I can,” Adrian said and turned to Roy, who appeared right next to him—much closer than one would stand to someone they weren’t intimate with or weren’t planning to be.
Bill half-expected jealousy to rear its ugly head, but it didn’t happen. Instead, he realized he wanted them even closer. He wanted to see them pressed against each other, preferably without clothes.
They were going to be so beautiful together.
But he didn’t want to start anything here. With how wired all of them were now, they might not get out of the office once they touched, and as hot as sex on the floor would be, the bed would be much better. Not to mention that there would be no danger of anyone interrupting.
He opened his mouth to suggest they take it upstairs, but as he watched Adrian peering at Roy, he realized he wasn’t ready yet. Not quite.
“Roy, how about you go lock the front door and meet us upstairs?” he asked and tilted his head when his partner t
urned to him with a question in his eyes. “I need to speak with Adrian for a moment.”
The silence that fell was more daunting than the one after Adrian had said the word ‘threesome’—at least for Bill. The ball was not in his court now.
Roy stared at him for what felt like forever, and Bill’s heartbeat sped up. If Roy didn’t trust him enough to leave him alone with Adrian for a few minutes, all this—all of whatever they were about to do—didn’t make sense.
But Roy nodded then glanced at Adrian, who nodded, as well.
“Sure,” Roy said and stepped back. A second later, he was out of the room.
Bill turned to Adrian and when he met his gaze, the words spilled out of his mouth before he could think them through. “I’m not going to ask you if you’re sure. If you’re here, I’m assuming you want this.”
Adrian bit his lower lip before nodding. “I do.”
“Good.” Bill’s gaze dropped to Adrian’s mouth for a moment, but he made himself look up again. “You have until we go upstairs to decide what it is that you want, though. Because if you think this is only going to be you and Roy with me idly watching—”
“It’s not that—not just that.” Adrian shook his head. “Sure, we wouldn’t be here if not for Roy, but I also wouldn’t do something like this if I didn’t want to.”
“As I said, you have until we go upstairs to decide,” Bill told him. ‘We wouldn’t be here if not for Roy.’ Part of him agreed, but the hidden part, the one that was pure instinct and no thought? That part wasn’t so sure. If the two of them had met like Adrian and Roy had… Damn, maybe for the very first time, Bill could understand what had happened between those two in San Francisco.
“I know what I want,” Adrian said, and Bill nodded, gesturing at the door. He tried to appear calm, but his wolf wanted to claw his way out at the thought of what they were about to do.
“Upstairs, then. Come on.”
Roy was waiting for them at the bottom of the stairs. He just shrugged at Bill’s raised eyebrows then turned to look at Adrian.
Bill focused on Adrian as well, watching how he moved—slow and almost reluctantly—through their small lobby and up the stairs.
He also stared at the guy’s ass, because damn…
Then Roy was there, right against his side, and he slid his hand under Bill’s jacket and up his back. “You’re so hot like this,” he whispered, but when Bill raised his eyebrows in a silent question, Roy just shook his head and dropped his hand.
It was better for Bill’s control, but he still missed the touch.
Once they got to the bedroom, the tension could be slashed with a knife. Bill’s blood was humming under his skin.
“Let’s all lose the clothes,” he said, right as the door clicked shut. There was no way the three guys were going to undress each other, and besides, they needed to move things along.
He didn’t last long enough, though. Since he moved the fastest, he was down to his boxers while Roy was still in his slacks, caught staring at Adrian unzipping his jeans. Bill plastered himself to Roy’s back, enjoying the familiar frame of his body. He circled Roy’s waist and reached out for the belt.
Adrian stilled his hands on his own zipper, peering at them. Bill slowly pulled at Roy’s belt and nosed at the side of his neck as he stared right at Adrian. He smiled against the skin of Roy’s neck before whispering, “Come here.”
He could hear Roy’s sharp inhale and felt the tension in the muscles pressed to his. He could see Adrian walking forward slowly, all long limbs and hesitant movements. And finally, when their fingers touched, Bill could smell their scents sharpening right before they eased into each other, mixing to create something new.
All his senses were overwhelmed by these two men and all they’d done was tangle their fingers together and brush their hands along each other’s forearms.
He wasn’t going to survive this.
When he opened Roy’s belt, he couldn’t help himself. Adrian was so close now that Bill only had to move his hand just a bit to brush the back of his fingers against Adrian’s stomach. He got a bitten-off moan in response then Roy pulled Adrian flush to his chest and angled his head for a kiss.
Bill’s hands were trapped between their bodies but he was too busy staring to do anything. He’d known they would be amazing together, but damn if the reality of it wasn’t hotter than he’d expected. Roy splayed his fingers over the side of Adrian’s neck when he kissed him, slowly at first, barely brushing his lips over Adrian’s before he opened his mouth and delved deeper.
A part of Bill had expected that he would have to fight jealousy off the entire time and keep himself from tearing these two apart, but something opposite was happening. He marveled at the sight of them together. His erection was getting more insistent as his desire went up another notch.
He moved his trapped thumbs up and down against their skin and they both moaned at that, pulling back from the kiss. Roy tilted his head back to rest on Bill’s shoulder, but kept Adrian close.
“You want it like this?” Bill asked quietly. He’d pictured Roy in the middle of this right from the start for obvious reasons, but he still preferred to ask.
Roy nodded, licking his lips while he watched Adrian.
“But first…” Roy slipped from Bill’s loose hold and moved to the side, leaving the space between Bill and Adrian open. Roy was right there next to them, running his hands up and down their backs, but his message was clear. He wanted Bill and Adrian to do something together.
Bill reached up to cradle Adrian’s chin as he ran his thumb over Adrian’s lips. The guy was hot, half-naked and hard, but he was still the first man Bill had ever touched like this, aside from Roy. Bill needed to take this slow.
Then Adrian parted his lips and licked over Bill’s thumb before sucking it into his mouth and all the notions of slow flew out of the window.
Adrian kept his gaze on Bill’s while he laved his thumb, and Bill pictured him sucking down his cock and swallowing. His erection pressed almost painfully against the material of his boxers.
When Adrian released Bill’s thumb from his mouth with a quiet, wet sound, Bill pulled him into a kiss. There was nothing delicate or hesitant about it, either. Bill licked inside Adrian’s mouth right away, chasing Adrian’s tongue with his own.
Then he clasped his hand at the back of the man’s neck and Adrian moaned right into his mouth, waking up every damn nerve ending in his body.
“Guys, not that I’m not enjoying this, but we need to get naked and get on with it or I’m going to end up rutting against you very soon.” Roy’s voice was breathless and shaky, and Bill could tell he was indeed close.
He let go of Adrian with reluctance, especially when Adrian tilted his head to the side, nuzzling into Bill’s retreating hand and exposing his neck.
Fuck.
“Get naked,” he said in a low growl, and both Adrian and Roy rushed to comply. Bill was the one taking his time now while he stared at the other two men.
But finally, they got into bed. Adrian lay down on the pillows and Roy leaned over him on all fours as Bill positioned himself behind Roy after grabbing lube from the nightstand.
“You good?” He heard Roy whisper when he opened the bottle.
Adrian ran his hands down Roy’s back to his ass. “Better than good.”
“Spread him out for me,” Bill said, and he could see a shiver running down Roy’s body as Adrian did so, splaying his fingers over Roy’s ass cheeks and pulling them apart. “Perfect.”
He wished he could see their faces, but then he would have to be an observer only. And he wouldn’t have this—Adrian presenting him Roy’s ass like that.
They took their time stretching, alternating between Bill working Roy open and Roy opening Adrian, until they were both loose and ready—and swearing at Bill to get on with it.
Because just like it had been a foregone conclusion that Roy would be in the middle like this, it seemed to be obvious that Bill would be t
he one running the show. And he was more than fine with that.
Then he told Adrian to put a pillow beneath his hips and got a relieved sigh from Roy in response. It almost made Bill want to drag it out even more, but his patience was slipping. He helped hook Adrian’s legs over Roy’s forearms then gave the go-ahead to Roy, who slid inside Adrian in one long thrust.
“Oh, fuck.” Adrian’s choked-off moan broke the last of Bill’s restraints, and he pushed into Roy, hard and fast, just like he knew Roy liked it.
All three moaned then, since the move thrust Roy even deeper inside Adrian.
Bill rested his head on Roy’s slick back, fighting for control, but he should know Roy wouldn’t let him have it.
“Come on, Bill,” Roy whispered, tightening the muscles around Bill’s cock. “Fuck me. Fuck us.”
Bill withdrew his cock only to slam it harder into Roy—once, twice and again. He angled his thrusts to hit his lover’s prostate every time and Roy’s groans grew louder as he alternated between trying to shove his hips back toward Bill and forward inside Adrian, whose fingers were squeezing Roy’s back so hard that they were leaving white marks on his skin.
Bill licked the space between Roy’s shoulder blades then ran his tongue over Adrian’s fingers splayed over Roy’s ribs. He needed to taste them both, the wolf in him needing to imprint another sense on them.
Roy came first, shuddering between their bodies and tightening his muscles so hard that Bill felt as if his orgasm was pulled out of him, almost painful in its intensity. He could hear Roy’s harsh breathing and Adrian’s loud moan when he came, but Bill let himself float in a daze while he listened to their heartbeats reverberating through him, slowly—so slowly—coming down from the high.
Chapter Ten
Adrian didn’t think he could move right now, even if the guys announced there was a fire. Every muscle below his waist felt like rubber, and his arms weren’t much better. But damn, he felt good.
The events of the last half hour kept replying in his head, over and over, and while he wasn’t able to get hard just yet, he was pretty sure that was going to change very soon. Bill’s smirk against Roy’s neck right before he’d told him to come closer, he and Roy kissing again after ten years, Bill devouring his mouth and messing with his head… Adrian had been done for before they’d even gotten to the sex, and everything after that had just been…more than he’d ever realized sex could be.
