REV: REV Warriors Book 1 Page 19

by T. R. Harris

Now Andus walked among the rubble of the Temple of Light on Iz’zar, accompanied by his loyal counselor and friend, Congin Bornak. It had been thirty days since its destruction, and still very little cleanup had begun. That was by design.

Andus bent down and picked up a large clump of crystal, part of the huge lens that had once capped the dome. Andus had spent many a day within the Grand Chamber, either listening to Order sermons or conducting them himself. He had felt the light on his skin through the massive lens. It gave him strength and wisdom.

But now it was gone, along with the entire Temple.

“There is pressure to begin the reconstruction, my Lord,” said Congin. “I have delayed the requests, as per your instructions.”

“Good. We must leave the ruins as they are for longer, much longer. Each day the ruins remain, our support grows stronger.”

  “As was the plan.”

Andus dropped the crystal to the ashes covering the ground. “It was regrettable that we had to allow the Temple to be destroyed. I did so enjoy being here.”

“It was necessary, my Lord. And you must be pleased that your plan progressed even better than initially formulated.”

“That is true, thanks to the reckless aggression of the Human savages.” Andus laughed. “And they believed they had achieved so much by reaching the Enlightenment Chamber, when in fact it was all we could do to give them safe passage. It must have been disheartening when they read the Corollary and its false message. It has left them with no avenue from which to escape the ridicule. However, it was when the Human crashed the air vehicle into the dome, that their final humiliation was achieved. Even then, the explosives hidden within the Temple made for a dramatic spectacle. I commend your recommendation for such, Congin.”

“I was soon to trigger the devices if the battle continued much longer, until the opportunity arose.”

“You did well,” said Andus. “But now it is time to move on and complete the plan as originally set out. We must eliminate the Human threat from the Grid. And with this single event, resistance to the Order has vanished. Our worlds have been returned to us after the temporary interference from Earth and their non-believers. We are free to do as we wish, as was always our right. The Antaere are masters once again, and it shall remain so until the Final Glory.”

  Epilogue

Three more, along with six pregnancies.

  He couldn’t be more pleased.

Colonel David Cross checked the readings on the meter. Twenty-two. That was the highest he’d ever achieved. He wondered if it was due to his excitement with the latest report from Camp Slater?

Although the base was in the process of closing, they were continuing to test the REVs—the bravos now—for the mutation. Three had tested positive and were currently in route to Earth and his new facility. Add to that the four from Murphy’s team, and Cross was building a neat little community of super-Humans.

And the pregnancies. That was the most exciting. From the early successes, there was no doubt the mutation would be passed along. Not one hundred percent, not even fifty. But some would carry the gene through to the next generation. And after that the process would only multiply.

This was just the beginning, at least for this phase. From here on out, there was nothing that could stop him….

  The End

  The REV Saga continues…

Zac Murphy’s the baddest REV in Corps, but now he’s up against an entire galaxy out for his hide…including his own Human race. Not only that, but he’s fighting the efforts of the top REV scientist to create a society of super-Humans, all under his control. Zac has faced many a challenge in his life, but this may be more than he can handle.

Now his small team of loyal REVs must stay one step ahead of…well, everyone. Yet when you’re borderline super-Human, it’s your enemies who have to fear the wrath of the REVs.
