“It’s a great day, right guys?”
They all murmured their agreement. Ahead of them was another album, they were about to go into lockdown to start writing again. After that, they’d take a break for a few weeks, recuperate while reassuring their loved ones they were still alive and then they’d start the recording process.
Sam’s face appeared on the screen, the boys cheered.
“Sammy!”
Sam smiled, a little overwhelmed by their happiness. Did he miss them? Yes, he did.
“Gentlemen, you may open the parcel.”
Fraser glanced at them, noticing that Jerry had one hell of a smile on his face. It was obvious that Jerry knew what was in it. Evan picked up the parcel and ripped it open. The only thing in it was a small, thin box. Evan pulled it out and opened the box, inside it was a small USB flash drive. He frowned and passed it to Austin. Like the note asked, they had a computer waiting.
Austin slid it into the port and waited. The computer opened the drive, Austin frowned as he looked at the six folders. Each of them had a name and a number. The band members and Sam.
Dread slipped through Austin as he looked at his own name and the number beside it. The exact number of women he’d bedded during the tour. Opening it, he saw dozens of pictures, every single photo that he’d taken was in it.
Moving back to the main folder, he looked at the numbers and then turned to the other guys.
“It’s the contest.” He whispered. “Sam won.”
Jaxon didn’t believe him, pushing past to pull the laptop closer. The frown was heavy as he looked at it, opening the folder.
“Hey, these dates are recent.”
“Ah, yes,” Sam said with amusement. “If I recall my departure was only recent too. You will notice that the dates ended when I left the tour. All above board, gentlemen.”
“How come you’ve got our pictures?”
“Because, Evan, your phones are connected to the cloud. I merely logged in and collected the information as needed. I wanted to thank you all for a fun time, I certainly enjoyed it. And of course, you brought me something that I might not have had if I wasn’t a part of this game. They are the light of my life, and perhaps one day, you might find this kind of happiness too.”
Jerry turned the computer a fraction so that he could talk to Sam, trying not to be too amused at the distaste on their faces. It was too perfect, he was glad that Sam won and trumped all of them.
“It was a great year, wasn’t it?”
“Yeah, sure,” Jaxon said with a huff.
“Did we learn a lesson here?”
“Yeah, don’t invite the staff into a competition.”
Sam laughed, shaking his head. Jerry turned back to the boys.
“Maybe you’d like to heed Sam’s words and find some form of consistency in your lives and a permanent and a fulfilling relationship.”
With a collective groan from the men in front of him, Jerry rolled his eyes.
“Well then, I think you need to crown your king.”
Sam smiled cheekily, waiting for them to admit that he’d won.
“Fine, all hail the king of the one night stand.” Evan groaned.
“And?” Sam said teasingly.
“And the winner of the tour competition.”
Sam was still smiling, he figured that it would be on his face for days to come.
“Long live the king.”
