“I know it sounds like I’m getting off topic, but bear with me. This all ties into DC. Think back to Genesis twenty-eight. When Jacob saw the angels ascending and descending, he said that it was the gate of heaven. Scholars believe that spot was the very spot where Solomon’s Temple was built. To the secret societies, they see this verse as proof that there are certain hot spots around the globe that act as gateways from this dimension to another. DC is built on one of those hot spots.”
Noah had heard most of this before, but in light of recent events, it sent chills down his spine. “And the obelisks, like the ones in Washington, Egypt, and at the Vatican—the pope just admitted that they’re associated with worshiping the sun. That all ties in with the Mystery Babylon religion. Is that what you think the woman in Revelation seventeen represents, the religion?”
Cassie continued. “I do. I might add, obelisks are also in London, Paris, and New York. But back to DC, the streets were designed by Pierre L’Enfant, who was a member of the Masonic Holland Lodge in New York and may have been a member of an even higher-level secret society, such as the Illuminati.
“In his design, the streets north of the White House form an inverted pentagram, one of the preeminent symbols in witchcraft, used for summoning demonic forces, as well as a common masonic symbol. Also, if you look at the streets around the Capitol Building, you’ll see an owl. And I’m not talking about looking at a cloud in the sky that sort of, kind of looks like a dinosaur; this image of the owl is as clear as a bell. The owl is a major occult symbol, worshiped by the Bohemian Club, a secret society that most prominent male figures in Washington belong to.”
“It’s starting!” Becky waved her hand in anticipation and pointed to the television.
The group turned their attention to the television, which presented an image of a massive stage flanked by immense speakers, sitting in the National Mall with the Washington Monument towering behind. The stage was set back with a wide staircase leading up to it, which spanned the entire width of the stage. On either side of the stairs, wings of the stage came forward, which held the speakers, stacked like columns.
Long, flowing streams of deep-red crushed velvet created a background as well as the frames on the left and right of the podium area. Risers on each side of the podium held world leaders who, together, looked like a church choir. All of them were dressed in black, and the men wore deep red ties that matched the fabric that enclosed the stage area. Between the two risers was an ornately carved, black granite table. The image carved on the front of the table was that of a two-headed eagle with a red shield on its chest. The shield was made of an elaborate inlay of rubies and onyx, and displayed an intricate design of a black medieval dragon against a red background.
Pope Peter made his way to the microphone. He began speaking in English with a slight Italian accent.
“It is often in our darkest hour that we recognize the shining stars among us. In our evening sky, Sirius is the star that shines brightest, and in the shadows of our present gloom, the star that has outshined all others has been UN Secretary General Angelo Luz. The name Angelo means ‘angel’ or ‘messenger,’ and Luz is Spanish for ‘light.’ Indeed, Secretary Luz has come as an angel of light to bring a message of hope in what may be humanity’s darkest hour. Too long has hatred and intolerance brought war and death to this planet. It has now brought our species to a precipice, one where we must choose. Either we turn from our ways of greed and murder, or we will perish from the earth. The World Health Organization has estimated that more than twelve percent of the global population has now died since the senseless attacks on America. Those horrific acts set in motion a chain reaction of events that have now cost the souls of nearly one in eight.”
The pope paused as if he was losing the strength to go on. He retrieved a cloth from his pocket, wiped a tear from his eye, and seemed to force himself to go on.
“It is a simple task, for those with eyes to see, to recognize the causes of our suffering. It is easy enough for me to stand before you today and highlight the origin of our pain. But that is not what we need. Our race, our species, yes, even mankind the world over is crying out for a leader that can bring us into a new age. We need a man of vision, a guardian cherub, if you will, one that soars like an eagle above the chaos and yet can swoop down from his lofty vantage point and snatch us from the fire. We need a savior, a messiah, to show us the way and teach us the path. We are begging for a prince that we may follow into everlasting peace.
“I believe that the time has come for such a leader.” The pope turned and motioned with his hand toward the global leaders on the risers behind him. “The kings, queens, prime ministers, and presidents of the world have come together today to recognize our need for such a man. As with one voice, they have acknowledged the futility of our wayward individual paths and purposed in their spirits to lead by example as we erase borders, put aside our differences”—the pope raised both hands in the air, wide open, then, in dramatic fashion, closed them to make tight fists and jerked them back to his bosom—“and reach out to take hold of the perfect world this could be. We can achieve a perfect world if we quit fighting and come together to make this world everything which we know in our hearts that it can be.”
The pope bowed his head as if to pray to God. “I pray to the sorrowful souls of the world, embrace this opportunity to restore our fallen world. Embrace peace. Embrace Secretary Angelo Luz!”
The camera panned over the National Mall, which was filled with an audience of ambassadors and statesmen from around the globe who stood and offered up a thundering applause. The clapping continued for more than ten minutes while the camera cut back to the stage. Minutes later, Secretary Angelo Luz, handsome and stalwart, made his way to the podium with hands lifted high, wearing a white suit, white shirt, white tie, and white shoes.
He, likewise, addressed the crowd in English. “I am humbled by the gracious introduction given by the Holy Father, a man that I have always looked to for spiritual guidance. Pope Peter, you are such an inspiration to this hurting world.
“In a few moments, the men and women gathered here today will sign a document that will radically redefine the human experience. This treaty will grant authority to the UN, the Vatican, and the IMF to form a governmental troika that will be able to address the ills that are literally bringing an end to human life on earth. We will implement our plan to establish a sustainable monetary structure, global legal framework that will institute justice, and, as Pope Peter mentioned on Christmas Eve, a common spirituality that grants hope to all and provides a system of values that we may all share. While this sounds so simple, it will, in fact, require a great deal of work from the leaders of our planet. And we cannot do it without the participation of the people. For those who are ready to mature as a species, we invite you to embrace the new global culture and share in the abundance of grace and peace. To those who are not ready to commit to this common goal, the rest of us have been as patient as we can for as long as we can. Our forgiveness and amnesty have been treated with contempt and disdain. To continue without complaint in that acquiescent attitude means suicide for humankind.
“No more can we hope against hope that those given to greed and religious intolerance will adopt our message of peace. Citizens of the Global Republic will be asked to take a pledge, renouncing their intolerant beliefs and destructive dogmas. Either you are in or you are out. The decision is yours. The sins of the past may be looked over if your contrition is sincere, but from this day forward, your hatred, your violence, and your hostility has no place in the new world order.
“Out of the ashes will arise a phoenix, a bright, shining light to guide us all to a heavenly existence. Out of the chaos, will arise an order unlike anything the world has ever seen.”
Elliot whispered, “I wonder what’s in the UN treaty.”
Noah replied, “We have to pass the New World Order so you can see what’s in it.”
Elliot winked. “Is that your Nancy P
elosi impression?”
Noah smirked. “No, my Paul Ryan imitation, but good guess.”
Luz continued. “Beginning tomorrow, we will break ground right here on the former National Mall to build a new government building to house the new Global Republic.”
Jim rolled his eyes. “At least we’re calling it a republic.”
“Yeah, China is called a republic. You can call a sock full of crap a ham sandwich, but I ain’t eating it.” Cassie’s face showed her disgust.
The secretary said, “This project will provide good jobs for thousands of local people who have been financially devastated by the collapse. I know that does little to help those scattered around the world that are starving or stricken by disease, but it is where we must start. From here, we will rebuild this broken world.
“Many are asking themselves how we intend to pay for this brave new world. I won’t bore you with the minutia, but in short, the provisional troika government has approved a new currency system, which isn’t subject to the abuse that has been so prevalent by central banks over the years. It will have as its foundation, the SDR or Special Drawing Right of the International Monetary Fund. The SDR previously derived its value from a basket of the member nations’ currencies, weighted by the exchange rates of those currencies. That system was also abused by those members with reserve currency status. The new SDR will be valued via a cryptographic mining program that takes into account the population of the new world as well as the amount of goods and services available for purchase. No longer can money be printed at out-of-control rates, creating the types of economic instability that helped to trigger the collapse.”
David crossed his arms. “Now it’s the central bankers’ fault. A few minutes ago, it was Christians who destroyed the world.”
Angelo Luz kept speaking. “Those of you who are familiar with Bitcoin will be able to help your friends and families understand the benefits of a cryptographic mining program that regulates the supply of the new currency. Additionally, because this currency is digital, it cannot be stolen, it cannot be counterfeited, and, since every fraction of an SDR can be traced, it cannot be used to finance terrorism nor can taxes be evaded through black market or gray market transactions. It is the perfect world currency. Everyone who accepts the global pledge of allegiance to become a citizen will be assigned an eighteen-digit account number, which will track your credits and purchases. Utilizing the SWIFT system as the backbone and existing Bitcoin infrastructure for point-of-sale services, the new currency will be rolled out at lightning fast speed. Since there is no paper currency to design, print, or distribute, the transition will be as smooth as silk.
“Most of you already have the equipment and skills to begin using the new currency as soon as power and Internet services are restored. The new system will utilize smartphones in the beginning, which will download the SDR Access app. The app will contain biometric identification features to keep your money safe. We are well aware of the inherent security vulnerabilities that accompany the use of a smartphone for account access and payments. Even with the biometric authentication features, phones can be stolen and hacked. That’s why phones are only being utilized as a transitional apparatus.”
Luz held up his hand and flicked it. The camera zoomed in on his arm which displayed a smartphone interface on his skin.
“Most of you either own or at least have seen the Cicret bracelet, which uses pico projectors to project your phone’s interface on your arm and allows you to manipulate the phone via sensors. The folks at DARPA have worked with the inventors of the Cicret bracelet to make the next evolution of wearable tech; we call it embeddable tech. The screen you see on my arm is coming from micro projectors under my skin. The tiny processor, battery, speaker, sensors, and projectors are all just under my skin. The UN has secured contracts with Google and Apple to begin manufacturing the required components for everyone to have access to this technology in a matter of months. And the best part, the base model will be made available at no charge. Those who wish may purchase upgraded models such as those with the projector embedded in your forehead. That particular upgrade allows the interface to be projected onto any surface, up to three feet away, which can be controlled with both hands. You’ll be able to type messages on the projected interface just like a keyboard. The possibilities for this technology are endless!
“The first question I had when learning about this new device was how do I recharge it? I love the idea of embeddable tech, but not at the cost of needing a USB port in my hand to charge the batteries. My fears were quickly laid to rest. DARPA has developed an internal bio-charge system. A micro thermoelectric generator utilizes your body heat to power the device and keep the batteries topped off for high-power-usage applications. We have truly arrived at the doorway of a new era.
“Perhaps the most exciting thing about the new systems is the security. The new phones, which we are calling Marks, because of the small freckle-like mark left when they are embedded, use pulse authentication. This security feature uses your heartbeat, which is more unique than your fingerprint, to continuously verify your identity as well as your health. If, for any reason, your heart rate, blood pressure, or other vital signs indicate that you need medical attention, emergency services will be dispatched immediately to your location.”
Cassie shook her head. “Not only can you not buy or sell without the Mark, but once you have it, you’ll also be under twenty-four-hour GPS surveillance.”
Noah glanced around the room. The others faces showed various expressions of horror, fear, anger, and contempt.
Luz continued to lay out the all-encompassing vision for the New World Order and the Mark. “Your information will be completely secured, as it may only be accessed via your Mark, or through the new central database in Utah. Gone are the days of identity theft and cyber-attacks against individual financial institutions. The Utah database will house all of the globe’s financial, personal, and medical records in a quantum computer that is light years ahead of anything accessible to malicious actors.
“Each citizen of the Global Republic will be awarded a set amount of currency upon registration for their new, eighteen-digit account PIN. For those in less developed countries, they will likely see the initial allocation of currency as being a huge windfall. Those who have become spoiled by a life of luxury built on the backs of the less fortunate may have a period of adjustment. Our new world will be one of equality.
“A common concern among populations who have been marginalized and exploited for their labor by countries who held reserve currency status in the past is who will be responsible for mining the currency through the cryptographic algorithms. They needn’t fret. Mining of the SDR will be done exclusively by the program and overseen by the IMF. Just like Bitcoin, the mining program will solve complex mathematical programs to produce currency units. The IMF will not alter the program in any way, but will only input global economic and census data so the program can regulate its pace for mining the digital currency units.
“On another subject, the militaries of the world are filled with brave young men and women who possess specialized skills, strong work ethics, and a passion for helping others. Since we will have few national borders in the new world, their courageous services may no longer be needed in their current capacity, but we will find a place for them. We must honor those who have held such a high regard for their commitment to peace. Some will work as global peacekeepers to maintain order in the various regions. Others will be employed in more administrative positions. Still others will continue to monitor the environment of friendship that we will possess with the countries who have yet to join the fold of nations which will create the Global Republic.
“China and Russia have not yet committed to joining our effort, but once our charter is finalized, I will be meeting with the members of both of those nations to pen a seven-year agreement for peace. I have strong assurances from both that this will be a lasting accord.
“Without the wars
and conflicts of religion, borders, and exploitation, the new world will be free to pursue endeavors of technology, science, prosperity, art, literature, and wisdom. This will be a world where all are equal; everyone is entitled to proper nutrition, good housing, education, happiness, and prosperity. We are at the dawning of a new age.
“I know you all have questions. We will do our best to restore information channels and get food, supplies, power, and medicine to those in need. Once those basic requirements are met, we will build a New World Order, the likes of which the earth has never dreamed, hoped, or imagined. Utilizing the existing buildings of the former United States Federal Government here in the District of Columbia, we anticipate having the temporary government offices of the Global Republic up and running by the end of next week. After which, we will immediately begin dispatching global census workers who will be administrating the pledge of allegiance and assigning global identification numbers. When you hear about a census office being set up in your area, it is important that you report to it right away, so we can get you signed, start dispensing emergency relief, and begin the glorious reconstruction of a better world. Until then, persevere in hope.
“Happy New Year and may the blessings of the Global Republic flow to you abundantly!”
Luz turned around and walked back to stand behind the black granite altar containing the UN treaty and charter for the Global Republic. He watched as each of the world leaders came down from the risers and signed the document, one by one. US President Clay was the first to sign. Afterward, he laid the pen back on the table and shook hands with Luz. The prime minister of England was next, followed by the chancellor of Germany, then the president of France. Next came the leaders of Australia, Japan, Brazil, India, and the remaining members of the former European Union. One by one, they signed away the sovereignty of their respective nations.
