We left mum, dad, Malhaar and Maya and went looking for Priya. Suddenly, Faith took me aside and said, ‘Vaibhav ... I have to show you something...’
Saying this she revealed her left hip bone.
I bent down and examined it carefully. Instead of two, now three feathers fell from the bird.
‘I told you that I got the last two feathers to remind me of the most important phases of my life. This third and final one represents you,’ she whispered as I stroked her skin which was still red from the fresh addition of the tattoo.
I had no words. Her gesture was overwhelming. So I did what I knew the best. I kissed her.
And we walked away, hand in hand.
