  IT WAS THREE hundred feet to the bottom of the jagged rocks. If the rope was cut now, Hopalong would swing forward against the cliff and he would fall, his body bounding from one projecting rock to the next.

  A hand above touched the rope.

  Hopalong felt it tremble.

  Then it gave a tremendous heave, and he clung desperately.

  Behind him, on the edge of the cliff, a voice spoke.
