I was also wanting to get my husband alone, but that too seemed impossible at the moment, which was starting to get very frustrating, it’d been at least a week since we shared sheets, and we were still newlyweds.
I felt guilty though, worrying about that as Trelin headed for war. It was what it was though. I also knew it wouldn’t last much longer, I could live with it for another few days, until Lynn was safely back home.
Stormy whickered, and started to prance, clearly excited to be back on the road. At least one of us was having a good time…
Afterword:
I hope you enjoyed this story, if you did please leave a review. Reviews are the lifeblood of independent authors, and I would greatly appreciate any constructive feedback or opinions.
Katrina’s story still has one more book to go. Her and Gerard should be back soon in Defense of Trelin, the fifth and final book of the series.
I took a slight risk in this book, giving her a fear of being under all that stone, a light phobia to fight, as well as a couple of pet peeves to battle at the same time. It made her short tempered, irritable, internally whiny, and her snarky comments were a bit more waspish. Hopefully I didn’t take it too far, I don’t think I did put in too much angst, and I further hope that I managed to show you another complicated facet of her personality while being consistent with who she is in the earlier books even as she matures.
At the same time, I gave her a greater challenge, and a much higher attendant risk, in staying true to her beliefs, morals, and her inner need to be a heroine.
