“Oh, god, yes, Robert.” She threw her arms around him. “Yes. Yes. Yes.”

His laughter was tinged with relief. Picking up her left hand, he slid the platinum ring on her finger. It fit perfectly.

She turned her head to look down at her hand. The fire of the diamond glittered in the natural moonlight. “This is a dream,” she whispered. “I’m sure I’ll wake up in a moment.

“Most people might call it a nightmare, but who am I to argue with a beautiful woman?” he responded, pulling her close. “You’re all mine now.”

“I have been for a long time. We fit, and it amazes me every time I think about it.”

He moved her from his lap and rose to his feet. “It’s time to get you home.” He helped her to rise.

“Ow,” she said as she got up. “Wow.”

“Are you all right? What hurts?” He never wanted to hurt her with the games they played. They were for her enjoyment. True, his as well, but he planned them specifically to heighten her desire.

“It’s nothing. A hot bath and I’ll be good as new.”

  “Are you sure?”

“Robert, it’s okay.” She leaned up to cup his jaw. “Really. This was the most memorable night of my life. And you planned it for me. It was wonderful.”

Breathing a sigh of relief, he leaned down to the duffel bag he’d brought in earlier, and pulled out a pair of jeans and a sweater and handed them to her.

She laughed. “You came prepared, I see.”

“Of course. I wasn’t about to let you put on those damp clothes you took off earlier. I had a feeling you’d want to visit the cemetery first. We’ll retrieve them on the way back to the car.”

He watched her as she got dressed. He loved watching her, whatever she did. She carried everything off with such grace and charm. Even when they cleaned the apartment or did the laundry. In her most scruffy clothes she still looked beautiful to him. Whether she was submissive, like tonight, or in complete control at work, just watching her aroused him every time. Not a whit of it had lessened over the two years they’d been together. It had merely increased.

Tonight he’d take her home and they’d have a long, hot bath, followed by some soft loving and some smooth music.

Once he had settled her into the car, he walked back to the cemetery and retrieved her clothing and shoes. He looked up at the house and a small smile curved his lips. What was she going to say when she found out he’d closed on a deal for this house three days ago? Although it would take a lot of work before it was liveable again, the foundation was solid. It was perfect for them.

His gaze rose to the second story window as the flare of a match being struck caught his eye. Of course, there was a randy ghost or two that might need exorcizing. But the rest could stay.
