Instinctively, with that knowing that came from a deep, innate place, they threw their heads back. As if invisible chords were pulling them, they held their heads at identical angles. They stood like this for a few seconds before an intense golden light shot out from their conjoined chests. The light held only for a few moments in linear time, but for Asara and Anak it was a small eternity.

The twins were suspended in time, in complete surrender to divine will.

Anak continued to hold Asara’s chest pressed against his, both of them, transfixed. They had fully surrendered and allowed divinity to flow through them.

There was no room for conscious thought, no bewilderment at the intense golden light that still beamed from their chests. There was barely any realization of what was happening. They’d become divine emissaries, simply allowing themselves to be the creatures Creator had sent them to earth to be.

  Chapter 25

The light was a warrior light. It was the bright gold of victory and conviction. Its beam was unwavering. All humanity experienced a collective exhale of relief at the infusion of light into the world. It was needed at this time in history, when darkness was attempting to overtake the shores of human consciousness.

The light emission ceased just as suddenly as it began, without any conscious decision by the twins. Asara collapsed into Anak’s arms, and he held her. This was the first time they turned to each other for solace. From that time forward, they would always provide that for each other.

Asara leaned further into Anak. Their bodies fully pressed against each other. They stood there as cosmic brother and sister, as divine male and female. Asara breathed in peace and safety as the love of her twin enveloped her. She gave in to Anak’s embrace fully and let her muscles go slack.

The twins weren’t as much fatigued as they were astounded. They didn’t spend any of their actual life force energy. They’d allowed their physical beings to be used as vessels for the light of Creation, that energy that already existed, independent of any one being.

They heard the slightest of sounds and tilted their heads up in time to see the capstone of the pyramid swivel shut. They looked at each other. The mystery of the pyramids was revealing itself! It hadn’t occurred to them that the pinnacle might move. It was heavier than several men could carry, and rested with a sense of finality atop the pyramid.

Asara and Anak were quickly learning that there was no longer any such thing as impossibility. Where there was faith in the ways of Creator anything was possible. The pyramids were a tool of energy and light amplification. They condensed and simultaneously magnified the twins’ divine light energy and provided an outlet for its transmission to the world.

Reluctantly, Asara began to separate herself from Anak. When she was far enough away to look into his eyes, she smiled with a calm and deep love that she didn’t realize she felt for him until that moment.

It was he who voiced what was behind her smile. “I love you, Asara. You’re my twin, the female reflection of my maleness. My soul and heart are yours, and yet also mine.”

Then, at the age of thirteen, they shared their first kiss. It was a sweet, gentle kiss, and it held all the promise of the love that was to blossom. They understood they would be together in all the ways that Creator had made a man and woman to be together.

Asara laid her head, for one last fleeting moment, on Anak's shoulder again. Then they exited the pyramid holding hands.

The sun blinded them. Bright blocks of light and energy steadily became faces and expressions.

A crowd had gathered outside. Everyone stood still, in frozen movement, as if in a spell. There was complete silence. Asara and Anak stood before the people of Arnaka.

Soon, slight movement began to rustle across the crowd. A woman set down the carafe she was carrying, and her husband set down his tools. They bowed as they came down onto both knees, and placed their heads against the earth. Slowly, others followed their example. They’d reached a sudden understanding that the time for miracles had come. The time of the prophecy had finally arrived.

It was time for divine light.

Asara and Anak, in telepathic rapport, walked beside each other. They continued to hold hands as they approached the wife and husband who’d first bowed down to them setting the example for the others. Anak extended his free hand to the woman first, and then to her husband, and helped them rise. Anak wordlessly embraced both of them. Asara did the same. There were no words exchanged, but now everyone released tears, heavy with emotion. The tears shed that day were of gratitude and relief.

Asara and Anak went to every other man, woman, and child and repeated the same gesture, sharing a moment of hope for the future. The twins joined with them as equals.

Although it was clear that the twins had an important destiny to fulfill, Creator sent every soul to this earth for a particular purpose. Each objective was important in its own way and made a valuable contribution. All individuals had the potential to bring amazing gifts to the world through playing their unique role. Everyone had a specific destiny to meet, and it was that person's free will choice whether or not to fulfill that destiny.

Every man, woman, and child present that day experienced the love of Creator for all life and for each of them. Nothing was spoken. With all the people amassed by the pyramid’s entrance, no one uttered even one word; no one wanted to break the spell of the prophecy coming to life. Gradually, one by one, two by two, they turned and walked away slowly in a state of prayer.

Contrary to the habitual, the story of what happened spread slowly. It wasn’t until late the next day that every inhabitant in the area learned what had happened.

After the twins’ light emission, there was a time of celebration throughout Arnaka. For many days, everyone rejoiced. People found reason to take pause from life’s responsibilities and to enjoy this exalted moment in time. Suddenly, there was more joy in mundane tasks and more pleasure in companionship and the sharing of food.

There was a palpable shift in the land, an ancient land of much history, both light and dark. The time of the prophecy was finally at hand in Arnaka.

  Chapter 26

It was an unexpected happenstance and wildly exhilarating. To realize not only that she’d found her beloved from this lifetime, but also from another, was beyond Lena’s wildest imaginings. Only the Creator could gift her a reality greater than any she could envision.

Lena examined herself in the mirror. She looked pretty with rosy cheeks and a healthy glow. She’d showered and dressed in jeans and a teal-colored sweater that brought out the yellow in her eyes. She walked over to the bed where Paolo sat waiting for her and began to pull on her favorite brown leather boots.

  “Okay, I’m ready,” she said.

They’d taken another hike. Sedona offered one trail after another, each affording breathtaking views. While Lena and Paolo hiked, they moved past the idea that they’d only just met and decided to share a room. Now that they’d found each other again, they were reluctant to separate.

“What do you feel like having for dinner?” Lena asked, sitting down on the bed.

Instead of answering her, Paolo looked at her with an intensity that ran a rush of heat up her body. And Lena let Paolo kiss her on the lips for the first time in this lifetime.

He kissed her, and he was just as she remembered—sweet tasting like honey. She realized she’d been yearning for him since they last saw each other, and that had been much too long ago.

Lena now knew with certainty that beloveds existed. No other explanation accounted for how she felt. This was the man that God had created in the beginning of time to perfectly match her soul.

Lena lost herself to Paolo’s kiss, the kiss of beloveds, and was aware of nothing else.

She didn’t notice if she drew breath or if her heart beat; she just felt him.

She felt every piece of his soul find its way to hers. And then, she felt it happen, as if she were observing herself. Lena released every bit of restraint,
every bit of caution, and let herself fall in love with him all over again.

There they were, two beloveds, reunited once again through the shimmer of time.

Lena woke in the middle of the night wrapped in Paolo’s arms, confused; something had beckoned her awake. Before she could figure out what it was, she slipped into another vision. She held onto Paolo as her consciousness traveled to other times and worlds. He automatically tightened his arms around her in response, giving her the courage to stay with her vision and learn from it.

The intensity of the teachings picked up. Her feet set off at a run. She was fast and free at last.

  Chapter 27

Months passed during which Asara and Anak bonded even more deeply. But although they spent much of their time together, their individual strength and confidence didn’t dissipate. Instead of becoming reliant on the other for assistance, they were able to combine their strengths. The twins were balanced within themselves, and this allowed them to be together without compromising their inner power and integrity.

Asara and Anak learned not only about their twin, but also about themselves. Because they were such close reflections of each other, Asara was able to see much of her shadow reflected in Anak, and Anak in her. They evolved through their connection, and this forced self-reflection. And at the same time they were growing as individuals, they were learning about their extraordinary role on earth and its deeper meaning. An imbalance of light and darkness plagued the planet. They knew without being told how important it was that light outshine darkness for the well-being of all humanity.

Even within the temple community, the twins had seen the effects of darkness when it seeped into a person’s heart. The forces of darkness would manipulate action and inflict great suffering on everyone it touched, delivering fear and anguish to the hearts of people.

What Asara and Anak began to comprehend was that darkness had an important purpose in Creator’s perfect plan. Creator’s design called for light and darkness so that the soul would grow throughout its multiple incarnations. Free will choice was a necessity. Human beings needed to have the choice between light and dark, unimpeded, for growth to occur.

Even the decision to accept darkness ultimately led to life lessons and development, though it was a trial inevitably burdened with grief. It was only through the ability to make their own choices that people learned. It was the only way.

There was a need for darkness. The problem lay in the imbalance of darkness, not in its existence. The dark forces were greedy, exerting their influence everywhere they could, hoping to ensnare a human soul.

The innate tendency of energy was to match its frequency to its surroundings. Whichever energy was the greatest in quantity and strength would overpower the energy that didn’t complement it. The lesser energy would shift until it eventually matched the stronger energy. The greater the amount of light on the planet, the more things shifted toward the light.

And so it was in human history that there were periods of darkness that possessed humanity until enough light shone through to dispel it. Great amounts of light would overcome the excess darkness and realign humans in their fervor for a higher purpose in life.

Once incarnated, most humans were afflicted with forgetfulness. It was a strong and fortunate person who rediscovered the light behind the fog, and remembered the reason for coming to this planet.

At different times on the earth’s cyclical history, groups of souls were born into human bodies with the gift of memory. They never forgot their divine origins and the true meaning of their lives. This was the greatest blessing that one could receive in an earthly lifetime. To know the safety and abundance that ultimately encompassed all creatures carried the gift of peace of mind and heart.

Without this knowledge of human origins, life could be confusing, solitary, and overridden by anguish and despair. Trust in the divine will, and surrender to this same divine will as infinitely more knowledgeable than human understanding, was the only way to find peace in life on earth.

Asara and Anak blossomed through puberty and learned to understand more of what they were meant to accomplish in their lifetimes. Through Kaanra’s prompting, the twins were able to remember their divine origins and their soul purpose. They became some of the fortunate ones.

It was their job to transmit light to counteract the growing power of darkness. This dispersion of light would give people the chance to break through the darkness to discover the light that was always somewhere within them.

Once darkness took hold of a person, it influenced the person’s thinking. The way the person viewed the world changed. It was dangerous. People under the hold of darkness acted in ways they would never act otherwise.

  Chapter 28

Once again, Kaanra proved himself wise by giving the twins free rein in their mystical explorations. This was the only way for them to arrive at their ultimate truth. In the end, no person could tell another his truth. Each individual has to discover the meaning of their life in their own heart. It is the way.

Once Asara and Anak were able to understand their life purpose, it became just a matter of time until they also understood the intrinsic nature of their beings.

It happened to Anak first, during one of his walks along the River Haakal. By moving in his meditations, the busy thoughts fell away, leaving room for those revelations of true substance.

Anak received unexpected insight into his origins. He was an angel that had incarnated in a human body. Though Anak had become somewhat accustomed to the surreal element that pervaded his life lately, this realization left his mind reeling.

Over the last several weeks, he’d come to accept that his purpose was to shine light upon the earth to help transform the condition of humanity, with all the responsibility that it implied. Anak had even accepted the bizarre circumstances that gave him a twin though there was no possible blood relation in this earthly life. He’d somehow managed to wrap his mind around all of this.

However, as he considered the possibility of being an angel, he struggled. How could he be one of those celestial beings of legend? How could he be one of Creator’s magical creatures? Yet, even as he fought it, a part of him accepted this truth. It reverberated through him, the voices of his guiding angels telling him that he was one of them.

Anak knew that nothing was unattainable for Creator. Much of creation seemed theoretically impossible. Yet, it was real and true. Life was a miracle in every breath. The impossible was possible, and this was evident in the marvels all around him.

So Anak let go of his disbelief and ordered himself to accept his new reality. It was important to acknowledge the universe’s offerings in order to continue receiving. He’d been given the valuable gift of understanding, and he was determined to accept it with gratitude.

  He was an angel.

But he knew little about angels. They were considered mystical beings, and were, therefore, enveloped in awe. It was difficult to determine where reality began and where it ended.

When Anak was little, his father would sit him on his lap and tell him tales of legendary proportions. There was always the magnanimous knight or the magician and a challenge, which the chivalrous character unerringly overcame, often with the help of a guiding angel. Anak’s father told him stories about the Archangels Michael and Gabriel and the legions of angels that assisted these archangels in helping humanity. Anak’s life was becoming one of the fantastical stories he loved as a child. His breath caught when he thought of the significance of his life. He prayed that he would be able to fulfill the role Creator had assigned to him.

He continued pacing along the river’s shore, but he barely saw the water. His focus was inward. The power of the running water became part of the fabric of his being and inspired a new prayer.

He prayed aloud, with a fervent voice. He prayed from his heart:

Creator, great beloved of my heart, I love and trust you, implicitly.

I surrender my life to you and your infinite knowing. />
I release my will to your hands, where I know the comfort of your strong embrace.

Lift me up so that I may soar and remember my divinity while keeping my feet firmly grounded

  on your beautiful earth.

May it be so. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Anak always said his prayers aloud because of the power in the vibration of the spoken word. As the last words left his lips, a great calm descended upon him. He’d intended to release the desire for control over his life to Creator so that with Creator’s help he may accomplish what it was he had come to achieve. And he had.

With that last comforting thought, Anak ceased his pacing. He sat against the trunk of a very old tree and stretched his long legs out in front of him. He closed his eyes, and found peace within.

He activated a connection with the tree and welcomed its teachings. The tree had lived for centuries, with roots that spanned a great distance beneath both earth and water.

Images of angels, water, and light floated through his reverie. Then his attention settled upon Asara. She was the most wonderful gift. He now knew what it felt like to be intricately bonded to another human being in such a way that it transcended the boundaries of heaven and earth.

Somewhere along the way he’d fallen in love with her.

Anak startled to alertness, eyes wide open. He sat upright against the tree. What if Asara were also an angel? The chances were high since they were twins through these unusual, unearthly circumstances. He needed to see her.

In seconds, Anak was off at a full run.

In one of the innumerable moments of synchronicity that Asara and Anak shared, she arrived at the same conclusion as her twin. Like him, she wandered down to the water. At the other side of the river, she walked. Moments after Anak, Asara also arrived at the realization that she was an angel.
