Twice the Lies (Once Upon a Liar Book 2) Page 11

“I’m not in the mood right now,” he expressed.

I moved out of the way to let him in, and I walked into the living room where Miracle was asleep in her car seat, with a baby blanket over the top. He closed the door behind him, and I turned around to notice him following my lead. He didn’t seem like himself. I got a chance to witness the way he gets during anger, but never had I witnessed him under what looked to be depression.

“What’s going on with you, Bradson?” I asked, after I took a seat on the couch. He placed the blanket back the way it was after he lifted the edge to look at his baby and took a seat on the loveseat.

“Hmmm,” he breathed before proceeding to tell me what had gotten into him. “After the trial, Alynn was sentenced to fifteen years. I dropped Miracle off with you, and then went to the lawyer’s office. She wasn’t there, but she and the lawyer were in a parking lot across the street. Needless to say, when I caught up with her I witnessed them having sex… or what looked to be the end of their affair,” he informed me, and tears began to fill his eyes immediately after.

From the way he sat leaning with his elbows on top of his knees, and giving me no direct eye contact, I could barely tell his emotion. It didn’t help that the living room light was off, and we were only able to make out each other’s body shape from the light that shone from the kitchen. Somehow, I was still able to see how he showed he felt.

“What? The lawyer?” I asked in disbelief. Not only did I think Brilese wasn’t the type that would fuck in a car, but never in a million years would I imagine her banging her lawyer.

“He’s her kids’ father!” he replied, with more of a ferocious tone then the one he previously held. Once he realized that all the kids were sleeping and didn’t wish to awaken them, he lessened his anger and continued.

“When I hired him to take her case, I didn’t know who he was. Apparently, she didn’t even know he was a lawyer since he had been out of the picture for so long. I didn’t think she would consider taking him back, and I hoped we could still work on things. My boy Matt told me she was gone, and to be sure, I went back to the house in Rock Hill. When I walked in, the atmosphere even felt different. After going through the house, most of her and the kids’ things were gone! She’s gone! With Alynn committing suicide earlier today, she could have taken the place of the mother to Miracle!” he concluded.

“Alynn’s dead?” I asked in disbelief. He nodded his head to confirm, and a weird sense of relief took over me. As bad as I wanted to express my happiness, I knew it was the wrong time. I shook it off, as I watched him sit on the couch whimpering.

“If you don’t want to go home, you’re welcome to sleep on the couch,” I offered, and he nodded his head in agreement.

I lifted myself up from the couch, and walked down the hallway toward my bedroom. Once I entered the room, I went to the corner where Kayo’s old bassinet was placed. After latching onto the side of the bed, I rolled it down the hall, and into the living room. I positioned it next to the couch, before carefully picking Miracle up from her car seat. After placing her in the bassinet, I used the blanket that covered her seat to use to tuck her in.

“Good night, Bradson,” I looked from the couch, toward where he kept his place on the loveseat. As I walked back down the hall to get to bed, I felt terrible… but there wasn’t a thing I could say that would help. I hoped he would break out of his depression state, but truthfully, he was being forced to lay in the bed he made.

“Cheers to new life, baby,” I lifted my glass of Moscato, and Brilese joined her glass with mine for a cheer as we stood next to the island in the large kitchen of the suite we booked.

“Cheers!” she replied and looked at me with the most flirtatious smile I’d ever seen her wear.

The kids were sleeping in one of the suite’s bedrooms, so her and I had a chance to celebrate without any interruptions. Since getting her number changed, Dezire was the only person other than me who had her new phone number. We could peacefully relax and enjoy each other's company without a single form of worry.

From the day I went to Brilese's house in Rock Hill and we shared a kiss, we had kept in contact. Of course, I was the one representing her case, but we texted all the time and talked about much more. After a month of communication, she had a good understanding on why I left. She told me she forgave me but wasn’t ready to introduce me as a father.

My emotional feelings for her always were intact, but they grew stronger the more we got to talk. Two months into us speaking, I heard her laugh for the first time since us being together. Her childish giggle always accelerated my good mood. At that moment, I felt like we were getting closer and closer to being together again, but I chose not to question it.

Although the relationship between her and Bradson was rocky, jealousy still hit me from time to time. I had a job to do, and although my prices for her were much lower than I normally charged, some of the commission still went to the firm. I didn’t make a profit, but the pricing for me to represent her was much higher than she’d be able to afford. She had a household to maintain, and Bradson helped pay her dues for my service. In my opinion, she kept her relationship with him active to lower any chance of him declining to help her with payments.

The day before her trial was scheduled, she asked to meet me at the office. Of course, I wasn’t going to tell her no, but I did inform her that she had to hurry before we closed. In the nick of time, she made it into the doors of the firm. I assumed she wanted to talk over the case before presenting it to the judge, but I learned that wasn’t the case once everyone was out of the office.

“Mmm,” I moaned, as she kissed me while caressing my dick.

She heard me groan, which she took it as a confirmation that I wasn’t going to reject at that point. Boy, was she right. After taking her tongue out of my mouth, and disconnecting her lips with mine, she stood up.

“Pull that dick out for me,” she whispered, as I stood up into her hazel colored eyes which were hypnotizing to me and she knew it.

As she watched my movement, I unfastened my belt before unzipping my slacks. Immediately after my hard dick stood straight up on the outside of my pants, she turned the rolling desk chair so my body could face her.

“Oh shit,” I whispered, after she welcomed my dick into her mouth once she was on her knees.

I leaned my head back to enjoy the warmth of her throat stroking up and down. Five minutes later, I looked down to her looking up at me. She felt my dick jump by the way it tightened against her palm, which was her queue to fuck me. After getting up from her knees, she slid the tights she wore from her body. She threw them to the side and placed her legs on each side of my chair.

“Oh my God,” she whispered, as she began inching my dick into her wet pussy. She swayed her hips back and forth, until she was able to welcome me fully inside. “Did you miss this pussy, daddy?”

“Fuck yeah!” I didn’t hesitate to reply. Her bounces began to get faster, and her pussy was becoming moister, which led to my failure in holding out any longer. “I’m nuttin’,” I confessed.

“Me too,” she whispered. She grabbed the back of my neck before connecting our foreheads together, and slowing down on her movement until she stopped riding me.

After our sex session, we sat for an hour discussing what she had in mind. She said she wanted to get away from Bradson. If the trial ended in her favor the next day, then she wanted to continue a life with me. Because she was afraid that Bradson would try to woo her back into his life, she made me aware that she wanted to go to Georgia.

Since he was often in Charlotte, and they resided together in South Carolina, she figured Georgia was safe. It was away, but it wasn’t too far. I told her I’d have to think things over since it was a very short notice to resign from my position at the firm. Once she told me that it was either now or never, I knew I had a decision to make.

I grabbed my phone from on top of my desk and sent the firm manager a text.
To sum things up, I told her there was an emergency, and after the trail the next day I’d be resigning. Instantly after pressing the send button, my phone rang, and it was her. Brilese kept her stare from the other side of my desk as I answered.

“Yes ma’am,” I answered nervously. Although I was going to leave no matter what, I still hoped to be on the manager’s good side, so I could hold a good recommendation for a job elsewhere.

We talked for thirty minutes. By surprise, she understood completely. From her facial expression during the call, Brilese was upset that I went over all the details with my manager… minus the sex part. I thought it was good to be as honest as possible, especially since the firm was a small family and knew about what happened in my past. Brilese didn’t know how important it was for me to leave on a good note, seeing all she had to do to end hers was tell her friend she was leaving.

At the end of the call, the manager informed me that I could grab my things that night if I wanted. She said to leave the key I had to the office the next day after the trial. She assured me she’d type a good recommendation letter to any future employer of mine. I thanked her greatly before hanging up the phone.

Brilese’s case was dismissed the next day. We went to the firm to finish the paperwork, but since our sex session was short the previous day, I had a desire for more of her. She agreed she wanted me too, so we drove separately to the building across the street. I was no longer an employee at the firm, so I was careless to the fact of us getting caught.

Seconds into me releasing my fluids along the walls in her vagina, I heard a tap from the window behind me. Before I could get a chance to turn around, I heard Bradson screaming from the outside of the car. Brilese quickly pushed me out of the way and began to express herself back at him. Without wishing to escalate things, I jumped in the driver’s seat after lifting my pants back to my waistline.

He saw that I was getting ready to drive off, so he took off running toward the front of the building. I told Brilese to hurry and get into her car and follow behind me. It planned out just as I suspected it would and we were able to get away from him. Once we were in the clear, I grabbed my phone from the passenger’s seat and gave her a quick call.

“Hello?” she answered, as I came to a stop at a red light. I looked into my rearview mirror, and noticed she was still following.

  “What’s next?” I asked.

She told me she had to get her things her friend gathered for her, as well as pick the kids up. I informed her that I was going to my place, and I would text her the address once I hung up with her. She agreed, mostly because nobody knew where I lived. While we were getting our plan to move into motion, I knew my place would lessen the chances of her getting caught. If need be, I could rent one of the garages the complex offered so she’d be able to hide her vehicle.

Not even an hour after I got off of the phone with her, I heard someone knocking on my door. I looked out of the peephole, and confirmed it was Brilese before opening the door. Standing outside my door were Brilese, and my children. I knew the day had finally come for us to explain my relation to them, and I couldn’t have been more ready.

“You’re our father?” Karleiyah gasped, after I had two of the bags out of the car and it was time for us to tell the kids.

“Yes,” I replied. I was nervous, especially seeing how my daughter had grown into a lady full of sass. Silence struck the room for thirty seconds, which caused my heart to speed to its maximum beat.

“Oh my goodness!” Karleiyah screamed and got up from the couch to hug me. My son, Zirko, joined her. I looked past them to glance at Brilese, and I noticed her wipe a single tear from her eye. I didn’t feel the need to acknowledge her expression; I knew she was feeling overwhelmed joy.

Once the kids were given a tour of their room and tucked into bed that night, Brilese and I shared a bottle of sweet red wine together. When she had first arrived, she called and paid to have her number switched since Bradson was finding ways to blow her phone up. With no more interruptions, we were able to sit on the couch and peacefully converse about our move.

By the time we were ready for bed, we agreed to get a hotel somewhere on the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia until we found a house we could buy. Since the kids were out of school for the summer, there wasn’t too much pressure. She was going to get the rest of her things through a U-Haul, but decided the pictures were the only thing left she wanted. By the grace of God, she was able to sneak into the home before we left for Georgia a few days later. Finally, my family was whole again.

“I got the job!” I exclaimed, after I was back at the suite once the in-person interview was over.

“Yay, babe!” Brilese replied, as she stood in the kitchen area cleaning up the plastic plates from the lunch she served to the kids.

After three weeks of searching, I finally had an answer to a job. I had enough money saved for us to live comfortably for at least a year, but I needed income if we were going to buy a home. I opted out of continuing my career as a lawyer, since my name would be exposed, and Bradson would at least know where I was. Assuming he isn’t as stupid as the choices he’s made in the past, I chose to be more safe than sorry. If he was aware of my location, who’s to say he wouldn’t come looking for Brilese.

“I’m going to be the best warehouse supervisor ever,” I laughed, after walking over to Brilese and hugging her from behind.

“Yes, you are,” she agreed, before removing my arms from her torso and turning around to face me. “I have something to tell you.”

“What is it?” I asked, after leaning back enough to look directly into her eyes.

“I went and got a test while you were gone, and I’m pregnant,” she confessed, and pointed to the pregnancy test that was laid on the small counter next to the stove. I took a few steps to the side and lifted the test to look at it. Clear as day, the word pregnant shone from the top.

“We’re having another baby?” I whispered. I didn’t know if the kids were aware yet, so I decided to keep quiet.

“You don’t have to whisper. I don’t hide things from them,” she stated, after catching on to the reasoning behind my tone. “But I had sex with Bradson a week before I had sex with you. I’m not sure if it’s yours or his,” she confessed, but in a much softer voice than the one held previously.

I squeezed her tightly and lowered my head to whisper in her ear. “It’s mine regardless. We’re a family, and family doesn’t get left behind.”

  One Year Later

Since finding out she was pregnant once beginning a new life with Axe, Brilese had a healthy, and beautiful baby girl. During her pregnancy, she exposed that she didn’t want to get a DNA test since it didn’t matter to Axe. When baby Layah was born, she was given Brilese’s last name to follow the tradition her other two children held. A month later, Brilese changed her mind to a DNA test since Layah’s features were getting stronger and growing more toward the looks of her ex-boyfriend, Bradson.

Axe agreed to Brilese’s suggestion but assured her that nothing would change. He was aware of the relationship Bradson and Brilese previously shared, so the results were out of his control. He had to accept Layah just as his own if he were proven not to be the father. Once the results were available to pick up at the lab they chose to use, Axe went and picked them up.

After arriving at the house he and Brilese bought three months into their stay in Georgia, they decided to open the envelope together. Unfortunately, it was confirmed that Axe was not Layah’s biological father, which meant it had to have been Bradson. The results of the test led Brilese into a slight depression, and it forced visions of his infidelities to come alive again. The period of her mood was short, though. She knew she was accepted by Axe, so she didn’t feel the need to allow Bradson to know about another child he had. All that mattered was that they were a happy family.

On the flip side, Bradson kept the place he and Brilese shared together in Rock Hill. He was able to find a daycare center
for Miracle to attend, so he could work and keep up with the bills. His intimacy with Merrisah was over, but they kept in close contact. Eventually, they became best friends. He was able to get his boys every weekend. Additionally, Merrisah promised Bradson to tell him if she ever laid eyes on Brilese again.

Even after a year of Brilese leaving, he still hoped for her to come back home. That was the whole reason he stayed in the house to begin with. He started sex addiction therapy again and hadn’t encountered a relation with anyone since Brilese left him. If she were to come back, he wanted to show her the better side of him. He wished to present the control he’s gained because of him losing her.

Unfortunately, making up with him was furthest from Brilese’s mind. One way or another, he was going to find her again. He made a pact to himself that no matter the length of time, he will come in contact with Brilese again. There wasn’t a day, month, or year that could go by that would end his search. He was desperate for her to become his wife, and nobody could stop him from trying. That is, if she didn’t show on her own.

As for Dezire, she and Matt held a wedding ceremony two months after their son, Nash, was born. Brilese desperately wanted to attend the wedding with her children but was fully aware of the relationship Matt and Bradson kept and had been for a long time. Without wanting to cause a feud on who to choose to attend, Brilese told Dezire she wouldn’t be coming; it would lessen the chance of encountering Bradson.

Dezire agreed, especially since Matt was the only family-like person Bradson had. If he were to find out that he wasn’t invited to a wedding, he would be hurt. Even if she didn’t care about Bradson’s feelings, she knew it would crush her soon to be husband. Additionally, it would increase the suspicions of Brilese being close to the area. If he had known she would have been there as opposed to him, it would increase his search for her.
