A celestial creature, the nephilim falls from grace. After centuries of fighting evil he succumbs to temptation and wonder...for Marcus the consequences are dire but we’ve all done that, though not literally! With my research obviously nephilim were not recorded as drinking vampire blood, it was said that if an under-worlder tried to drink the blood of a fallen angel this was the most heinous crime, so turning this around, I was excited to explore this as a story.
I loved the creation of him and his contrasting character with Anthony. With references of the thinning of the veil, these came from the history of Halloween or Samhain as pagans call it. The time where the spirit world is closest to the living, and the consequences of Marcus’s actions, wraiths of hate in man’s heart pour out along with demons to destroy all. And also that flawed, darker characters could make a difference.
Acacius, in contrast to most of the characters seems a pure character driven to a just cause but his past reveals pain and actually he is driven more by the desire to avoid that pain.
Demons; I researched them. Demonology isn’t as scary or grand as it sounds. Mostly I found they spend their time having sex with humans, I kind of thought, is that it? Surely anything done to excess would become boring after a century or less. So with Lucius I added that extra, he was malevolent but he was also well read in magic and he had a cause, though it cost him.
I did a ton of research, I do for all my characters. Nephilim were interesting to research, some bits that were edited out as they didn’t move the story forward, but revealed how Acacius and his company wiped out the experimentals from book 1. I’ll either put that in another story or send out these writings to you, readers. They’re a story in themselves, and I visited Wells cathedral to get pictures, feelings of where that battle would take place.
I write what I want to read and what I think you the reader will find refreshing and a little different. I pour everything into my writing. I’m grateful to have you here, reading. This was once a dream and I’ve had a steep learning curve and I’m always studying the craft and reading whilst doing the 9-5 thing.
When I’ve been through hard times, getting into bed at the end of the day with a book has often been my saving grace. To lose yourself in another world.
I have a lot of pictures on pinterest that I take inspiration from when I’m writing my character biography’s. There’s a link below if you want to look.
Contact me if you have any thoughts, what did you like, what would you like to have read here. Writing is a two way process, and how I see/ feel about my book will be totally different from you. That in itself is fascinating.
Thanks for reading this and allowing me to fill your imagination.

How Can You Help?
The most potent thing a writer can have is reviews. Without support from happy, loyal fans we fade into nothing not having the clout of the celebrity writers.
