Walking Through Walls Page 11

by A. L. Kessler

I sighed and stopped at the front of the shop where a new window was in place. My eyes teared up a little bit. “How did you guys get them to come early?”

Moses walked out of the shop. “I have a friend in the business.”

I gave him a hug. “Thank you.”

“That’s not all.” Trace said and shoved me toward the door. “Kaz worked hard to make sure no more walking through walls happens, but Moses has also been working hard with me.”

I walked into the store with them, and I did start crying. There were already new shelves in place, a new spot for the register, and everything was built into the walls to keep them from falling over or being destroyed again. I swallowed my tears and ran my hand over the shelves. “How did you guys even manage this?”

I looked at Trace, and he shrugged. “We’ll call it a Christmas miracle and leave it at that.”

I rolled my eyes at the use of my words against me. I looked at Moses. “You’re hired.”

He laughed. “Thanks, I think I’ll take the job. You’re the only person willing to give me a chance.”

“You gave almost a complete stranger all of this. It’s the least I could do.”

  “Merry Christmas,” Trace laughed.

“And a happy New Year,” Moses added.

  Dear Reader,

Thank you for picking up Walking Through Walls! I hope it left you with the feel good fuzzies after your finished. I wanted to tell you a story about the dogs in this book, Nana and Patches. Nana and Patches belong to my sister’s family. One day they did get out and disappeared and were found with a homeless man. There was a lot of crazy interactions, but in the end they did get their dogs back. I knew that it held the same feel good ending that I wanted for this story and that Cozy Mysteries are known for. So I do hope you enjoyed the story that Nana and Patches inspired me to write. As always, thanks for reading.
