Crap. While it was just possible that the Velkaryans who had been shooting at him had left him for the police to find, Rico had a sinking feeling that it was more likely that it was the Velkaryans who had managed to get him to the traumapod. That wouldn’t be for charitable reasons. He wondered if he’d rather be held by the police. Rico groped around the interior of the pod, surprised that there were no restraints on his arms. Perhaps he could open the pod from the inside, get out, and then escape from wherever the pod was, all without being caught.
“Ah, Mr. Lee. Or should I say, Rico?” the voice came over the traumapod’s internal speaker. It was not a voice Rico recognized. “I see you’re finally awake.”
Well, so much for plan A, thought Rico.
The story continues in The Centauri Surprise, now available in ebook, coming soon in trade paperback.
Beware of assumptions. They thought Rico was dead. But now he’s just woken up in a traumapod in a strange place, and nobody is giving him answers.
They thought the lone hill northwest of Anderson Landing was just the remnant of an ancient volcano. But Carson has reason to think it might be a Spacefarer pyramid. Too bad the whole area is off limits--but why?
The Union de Terre Space Force thought they were going on a routine training exercise...until someone decided to pit them against the Sawyers World Space Guard in a wargame.
And just why has Carson invited Jackie Roberts to dinner at one of the most exclusive restaurants in Sawyer City?
The Alpha Centauri system turns out to be just full of surprises.
The Centauri Surprise is the fourth in the Carson & Roberts T-Space archeology series.
