“He did whatever he wanted to and even though she threatened to leave, she never did, no matter how many times he cheated. Because at the end of everyday he came home to her. But even if my mom wanted to leave, she couldn’t because she wouldn’t have anything to fall back on. My dad was her drug and she lost everything to be with him.
“Same with Ebony. She’s so high on King’s triflin ass, she stopped going to UCLA to be with him. She knew how he was before she even got a scholarship, but yet she stayed. I never got how they could be like that over a man until I met you.” Looking away from him I let out a deep breath.
“I done already lost my job because of being with you. I constantly missed work, never returning after my lunch break, but it didn’t matter because I was with you. Blaze, I don’t want to become them, but at the same time I don’t want to lose you. You are my drug and I honestly don’t know what to do.” I felt like crying, but I felt so relieved that I said everything. The ball was now in his hand. He could take what I said and run with it or…
“Damn…” His hand ran over his face before he looked at me. “Shid, I don’t either—” A laugh left my mouth at the seriousness in his voice. “I don’t know what the fuck you laughing fah, I’m dead ass serious. Shid, I’m ‘bout two seconds from running up out this bitch and I don’t run from shit…” he trailed off as his brows furrowed.
“What?”
“You said that this morning. Shid, I ain’t know what it meant though.” Sighing, he shook his head. “Peaches, man I don’t know what you looking fah me to say. Shid, you gon’ believe what you want. But I ain’t no cheater, I done already told you that.
You losing yo job, that was yo fault flat out. As for you being like them, I can’t see that happening. I mean, you too determined not to be. Plus, I don’t want a dumbass broad sucking me dry. It’s a must you have yo own shit if you wanna fuck with me. Don’t get me wrong, I won’t mind throwing you something, but shid, to depend on me?” He shook his head. “Ain’t gon’ happen. I might get pissed and throw yo ass the fuck out. When that happen, then what? I ain’t giving yo ass shit.”
Covering my face, I just started laughing.
“You laughing, but I’m serious as fuck, man. I can’t fuck with no dumb chick. I mean yo ass is a little slow, but—”
Hitting him, I rolled my eyes. “I don’t like yo ass, I swear.” Pushing me down, Blaze climbed on top of me.
“After saying all that shit, now you gon’ say you don’t like a nigga. Shid, I was convinced yo ass was hooked when we were at the courts and King told you to take off that damn chain. Man yo ass took off running, got little as fuck. Bellow ass was like, that mothafucka been chased before. Yo damn legs were hitting yo back, shit was funny as fuck.” He laughed, making me groan.
“That’s not funny. I was so embarrassed, I hate him so much. Were they really laughing?” That seemed to make him laugh harder.
“Hell yeah. Shid, we all was dying. I ain’t never seen nobody run that damn fast.”
“Oh, shit. My car, Cherry—” I tried sitting up, but he pushed me back down.
“Yo car outside, that damn rat around here somewhere. So you addicted?” Licking his lips, a crooked, but sexy smile came to his mouth.
I shook my head. “No, I’m not. I was lying. Blaze gon’.” Even though I said that, I didn’t push him away as his head come down, bringing his lips to mine. Before I could even get into the kiss, he pulled back.
“Yo ass use my damn toothbrush?” Rolling my eyes, I tried to push him off, but he wasn’t moving. Instead, Blaze pulled his shirt off then grabbed my legs and wrapping them around his waist.
My neck stretched up and I caught his bottom lip between my teeth, pulling it into my mouth. Blaze had just unhooked the sheet when somebody started pounding on the door.
Chapter 24
Peaches
“You better get the fuck away from my door!” Blaze snapped.
“Then open the fuckin’ door. Fuck wrong with y’all locking doors and shit?” King yelled from the other side. Blaze looked from the door to me and then back.
“Bitch, this my shit,” Blaze replied, making me roll my eyes.
“Bitch, that’s my sister! Now open the fuckin’ door,” King stated, making me groan.
“Just open the door, otherwise he gon’ keep knocking,” I said while pulling him back down to me and kissing him.
King started knocking again.
“I’ma kill his ass,” Blaze mumbled against my lips before getting up. “Bitch, we coming. Cock blocking ass mothafucka,” he snapped as he got off of me. Standing up, he started fixing his jeans.
“When did you unbutton your pants?” I asked him, confused. I swear I didn’t feel his hands move.
“Don’t worry about it, just know yo brother just saved yo ass. Now get ready.” Grabbing the shirt he threw at me earlier, I pulled it on with a groan. “Yo shoulder?” He asked.
Nodding my head, I started rolling it so I could get used to the pain. “Blaze, can you get me some socks and shorts?”
He looked me over for a few seconds. “The fuck I look like? You better get yo ass up, lazy ass.”
“Please?”
“No?”
“Please, Blaze?”
“Hell n’all, man, damn.”
“Blaze, please, you right there,” I asked again, he was standing right by the damn dresser.
“So,” he simply said.
“You get on my damn nerves, black ass.” Throwing the sheet off me, I got out the bed to get myself ready. After I got some socks and a pair of boxers, I slammed his dresser shut.
Blaze’s hand come down hard on my ass. “Don’t be slamming my shit.” I hit his arm hard. “The fuck you hit me like that fah? I ain’t even hit yo ass hard.”
No this heavy handed…
“You did, I bet any money yo hand print is on my ass. You wanna bet?” I asked, causing Blaze to sigh and his eyes… “Did you just roll yo eyes? This the second time I’ve seen you do that.” Pulling on the shorts, I laughed.
“I ain’t roll my damn eyes, short, black wench.” He muffed me.
“Did you just call me a wench?” He looked at me like I was crazy.
“Why the hell would I call you a wench, Peaches? You ain’t did shit to me.” Laughing, I hit him as he grabbed a medicine bottle off the dresser. “Here,” he said, holding out two pills and I looked at them. “What’s that look fah? So you can take a drink from a nigga you—”
“Boy, give me the damn pills. Yo ass ain’t even have to take it there. Yellow trick…” I started laughing as he grabbed me. “Blaze, gon’, my shoulder hurts.”
“Then take the damn pills.” Sticking up my middle finger, I put the pills in my mouth and swallowed.
“Can you give me some water?” I asked while I rubbed my shoulder.
“Yo ass, man. Who the fuck asks fah water after taking the damn pills,” he was saying as he walked into the bathroom. “Here.”
“Thanks.” After taking a swallow, I handed him back the cup. “That water isn’t even cold.”
“Yo ass ain’t say cold water, you just said some water. You an ungrateful mothafucka, a nigga do something nice—”
“You brought me hot water?” Blaze didn’t get a chance to reply as that annoying knocking started. “We’re coming, King, dang,” I told him while getting off the bed. “Come on before he has a tantrum.” Blaze chuckled as he made his way toward the door. I don’t know why I did it, but I couldn’t resist. My hand came down hard on his ass. “Damn, yo ass sitting right in them jeans. Can I hit?” Blaze quickly turned toward me.
“Man, I just almost beat yo ass. The fuck wrong with you? Do that shit again, I dare yo ass to,” he threatened, making me laugh.
“Stop acting like a baby before I slap yo ass,” I joked through laughter.
“Who you talkin’ to, Peaches? Is yo ass still high?” Grabbing my waist, he lifted me up.
“Maybe, but you just wanted to pick me up. It’s
okay, I don’t feel like walking anyways,” I told him while wrapping my arms and legs around him.
“You gon’ make me slap yo ass.” I started laughing at that. “Fuck you, man.”
“You already did. Yesterday, or was it the day before? You can do it again today if you want.” I licked his lips.
“Get the fuck off me, yo ass crazy.” Laughing, he walked us out of the room and into the living room. “Why the fuck is that big mouth trick in my shit? And I’m about to slap yo black ass,” Blaze put me down before walking toward Angel.
“Wait. Peaches, you better get him,” Angel said, quickly getting up and going behind King.
“Blaze, leave her alone—”
“Fuck that, her black ass almost hit me. Now she in my shit. The fuck she think this is?” He made a grab for her, but her ass ran around the couch.
“Yo crazy ass shot at me!” Angel defended herself.
“After yo ass almost hit me. I ain’t ‘bout to chase you, get the fuck out. You and King’s girl get the fuck out. Y’all done lost y’all fuckin’ minds thinkin’ you gon’ disrespect me then sit in my shit like we cool. Get the fuck out!” Angel looked at me and Ebony’s eyes jumped from me to King. “The fuck y’all lookin’ at them fah? This me, they don’t pay a damn thing in this bitch. Now get the fuck out before I drag y’all out by that nappy ass weave.”
Not even meaning to, Kimmy, Missy, and I started laughing, which Missy shouldn’t have done because Blaze noticed her at that moment. “All you mothafuckas is crazy. Outda respect fah my girl, I ain’t gon’ beat y’all ass like I really wanna do, but you gotda get the fuck out. Especially yo big lip ass, get the fuck out.”
Kimmy’s hand covered her mouth as her eyes went wide.
“Blaze—”
“Yo ass can get the fuck out too, if you telling me to leave them alone,” he told me and I rolled my eyes.
“Boy, you better gon’. Come on, y’all.” Walking past Blaze, he caught my arm.
“Where you think you going?” Again, I rolled my eyes.
“Walking them out, dang. You better stop acting like you gon’ miss me in front of them. They might think you getting soft.” Blaze gave me a blank look.
“I don’t give a fuck what nobody think and I ain’t gon’ miss you. I was gon’ say don’t forget that damn cat if you left.”
My mouth parted slight at his words. No he didn’t. “I don’t like you.” Blaze’s head suddenly came down and he bit my bottom lip, then slapped my ass.
“Get them damn girls out my shit.” With that said, he walked away. “Nigga, them pants tight as hell, yo ass gon’ fuck around and get a yeast infection, keep on wearing them tight ass jeans.” Blaze told Wayne and Kimmy burst out laughing.
“Oh, my God. I was seriously just thinking, his pants tight as hell, he must ain’t got no dick,” Kimmy said, clapping her hands together as she laughed. “Oh, wow, shit is crazy. You mad wrong for them damn pants, though, I swear.”
Blaze laughed as he sat on the couch. “Mad wrong.” He added before looking over at us. “The fuck y’all still standing there fah? And I’ma catch yo little black ass slipping,” he told Angel before looking at Bellow, Wayne, and King. “You know her black ass tried hitting me like a month or so ago?” He was telling them as I pushed my girls outside the apartment, closing the door behind us.
“You just gon’ let him talk about us like that?” Angel asked.
“Hell yeah, that man ain’t got no problem with slapping none of our asses. Plus, you shouldn’t have tried to hit him. This his place, not mine,” I told her. It was nothing I could really say to him about her. Blaze’s ass was crazy and I didn’t have time to be fighting with that man over some shit she started.
“Well, what the hell I do?” Missy asked, looking really curious.
“He saw us kissing. He went off on me too, don’t worry about him,” I told her while rolling my eyes.
“King called and told us you were awake. We just wanted to come by for ourselves to see if you were really okay. You’re straight?” Angel asked and I nodded my head.
“Yeah, I’m okay. Blaze gave me a couple of pills for the pain in my shoulder. He said dude pushed me from his truck. I hope one of those bullets hit his ass. I told y’all ass he was weird, but he was funny though.” They looked at me with their brows furrowed.
“Who was he?” Ebony finally asked, you could tell she was still pissed about Blaze putting her out and the fact King’s ol’ triflin’ ass ain’t say shit.
I’d be pissed too.
“Remember a few months back, right after I lost my job. I forgot where we went to eat, but ol’ dude that was watching me and y’all dumbass kept staring at him. Tall, dark skinned, cute guy, about King’s height, not as cocky—”
“Oh, I know who you talking about. Ol’ boy from the bar. Okay, I got you. Damn, it was him?” Missy asked, seeming shocked.
I’m not gon’ lie I was kind of disbelieving too because he seemed cool. He seemed weird from the way he stared at me, but he was funny.
“Yeah, it’s kind of hard to believe, though. But Blaze told me to stay away from him, he said that dude wasn’t wrapped tight.” They all gave me a funny look, making me laugh.
“No his ass didn’t say that about somebody when his ass ain’t right. The fuck?” Ebony said, making me roll my eyes.
“Bitch, don’t even go there—” I started, but Ebony cut me off, seeming pissed.
“Bitch, I’m going there. That mothafucka is crazy. Something is seriously wrong with his ass. Look at how he came at us and you talking ‘bout don’t go there. You can do so much better than that—”
“E, you my girl, but you ain’t gon’ stand here and talk about him when yo ass have no room to do so. Yo nigga, who is my brother, ain’t shit. I done told yo ass on plenty of days that you could do better, which you haven’t. So don’t even speak on shit Blaze and I got going on.
“You can’t be mad at that man because he doesn’t want you in his crib. You came at him sideways then expect him to be cool with you? I get why you stepped to him, even though I get it, he don’t give a fuck. You came at him wrong, point blank. That’s how he sees it, ain’t shit I can say or do to make him change his mind,” I explained to her.
I understood that she didn’t like the way he came at her, but she stepped to him wrong as well. I didn’t jump down her neck for it, so I’m wasn’t gon’ do it to him, unless he tried to shoot her or something.
“Same goes for you Angel—”
“Wait, bitch. I ain’t said nothing, so don’t pull me into that shit,” she said before pushing Blaze’s door open. “Blaze a crazy mothafucka and he better watch his back. Yellow ass nigga!” She yelled into the apartment then quickly slammed the door. “I’m gone before he comes out here shooting. Bye y’all. Peaches, call me.” After hugging me she turned around and started speed walking to the stairs, making me laugh. I looked back at Ebony.
“You right, King ain’t shit. But neither is Blaze—”
“Ebony, shut the fuck up. Just because yo relationship ain’t shit don’t mean theirs gon’ be the same. Blaze is crazy, but I don’t see hoes clinging to him like King. We know of one chick and that’s it. So stop tryna make her over think shit, damn. He ain’t King’s triflin’ ass, so chill the fuck out,” Missy told her before pushing Blaze’s door open and walking in.
“Just be careful. And King ain’t my problem no more. I’m glad you’re okay,” she said before hugging me. “Peach, be careful with him. I’ll talk to you later.” With that, she turned on her heels and walked away.
A heavy sigh left my mouth and I walked back into the apartment.
Chapter 25
Peaches
“First off, yo bitch kissed me. So I don’t see why you putting me out and not her ass. Don’t play favorites because y’all fuckin’,” Missy was telling Blaze as I walked in. I swear I needed new, quiet friends.
“I don’t give two fucks who kissed who first. Yo ass pucker th
ose duck lips up again, I’ma cut them bitches off,” Blaze told her and Missy looked shocked to say the least.
“Do you really think it’s okay to actually talk to folks like this?” She asked, making me laugh.
“Yeah, he does. So it’s best to have as little conversation with him as possible,” I said while bending over to pick up Cherry, then walking over to sit in Blaze’s lap. “And, bitch, I kissed you once, a tongue-less kiss. You the one that got beside yoself with kissing me. I swear her ass would just attack me without warning.”
“Bitch, you liked it, so don’t start. But I’m starving. Blaze, what you got to eat?” Missy asked, already walking into his kitchen. Blaze’s eyes followed her, then he looked at me.
“Get yo girl out my kitchen. Fuck wrong with her? Walking around like she live here. This’s why I don’t invite mothafuckas to my house, they ass start getting too comfortable.”
That was Missy’s ass for you.
“Leave her alone. King, what you do to Ebony?” I asked, because my girl wasn’t right, so I knew it was something he did.
“My man got caught with his dick in the cookie jar,” Blaze said and Bellow started laughing. “Little mama tore that ass up, didn’t she B?” Blaze and Bellow shook up as they started laughing.
“I thought he was gon’ take off like yo ass did. Man, she beat his ass. I would’ve shot her ass in the feet if she came at me like that. Baby pulled my dude out of Sam’s truck and everything. Shorty went in on his ass.” Bellow fell over on Kimmy and was cracking the fuck up, literally.
Once he was on Kimmy, she stopped laughing and pushed him, tryna get him off of her.
“Man, you gon’ make me beat yo ass, keep playin’ with me,” Bellow told her before pulling her into him.
“Dude, get the fuck off me. Blaze, can you get yo friend? Damn,” she stated, irritated as hell. Her nose had flared and she looked like she was about to start swinging. That look had me tucking my head in Blaze’s neck, muffling my laughter.
