  Area 5: Elemental World

  Chapter 22

  Fujin

After falling into the black hole, Angel finds him self on the ground with a huge temple on top of a mountain. The winds are blowing strong at 40 to 50 mph which is enough to push Angel around and down. Meanwhile he sees several creatures native to the planet of Fujin which are wind dragons flying around looking for their next prey. Also several live clouds that fly blowing gusts of wind which sting similar to a blade. The sky is gray above and thunder can be heard in the background, but no rain. In fact these “dry thunderstorms” are rather common on the planet of Fujin where the storms contain more wind than anything else. No gloobas can be seen, but would that change?

Angel gathers him self and tries to find out where is he. He is a bit intimidated by what he sees and realizes that he is by himself. He also realizes that he doesn’t have his spacesuit anymore. He begins to question what is going on and wonders what is going around him. The Elder God shows up and approaches Angel.

“I know that you are confused my dear Angel, so let me explain the best I can what is going on.” The Elder God says.

“I am confused, but I’m sure you can tell me at least an idea what I have to do to get back to where I was.” Angel replies to the Elder God.

“My dear Angel what you see around is the planet of Fujin or should I say the god-dimension of Fujin. What I mean about these dimensions is that the four of you have been separated in the different elemental dimensions that control our universe that you currently reside. They are fire, water, earth and wind which is where you’re standing at right now. Each of these elemental lands has a guardian, usually under normal circumstances me and these guardians are on good terms. However I sense the evil one has sent his minions here and the guardian may take you for one of them.” The Elder God explains the situation to Angel.

“What happen to my friends though? How do I get back to the hyperspace, back to the virtual world or I don’t know the “real” virtual world?” Angel says in frustration as he is confused about what is going around him.

“Relax my dear Angel, I understand your frustration. All you can do is reach the temple and talk to the guardian hopefully he will be friendly to your cause. However I have no control of how he will react to you? I wouldn’t be surprised to find your glooba “friends” hanging around here. You and your friends have to open the gates to each elemental land in order to open the ultimate gate that will lead you out and transport you to anywhere you go.” The Elder God explains further what Angel has to do.

“ I understand Elder God but if I’m successful how would I know if the others are successful, where I will be waiting and do all four of us have to be successful, what happens if one of fail?” Angel still has many more questions that he needs to be answered.

“I was afraid that you would ask me these questions, that’s because I have no good answers for you or at least none that would prove to be of your liking.” The Elder God says with a depressed tone.

“Look, if these answers you’re about to give me are the true answers I rather hear that than lies. I can only control what I do. I can only hope my friends can sense my presence.” Angel replies knowing the answers to his questions will not be to his liking.

“Well for starters all four of you have to be successful in order to get out. If and when you get out you’ll be transported to a warp that will go on forever until the other three are successful in breaking out in their respective elemental areas. When the four elemental gates are open then and only then will the warp open up to lead you back to the initial layer of the virtual world. If any of you fail to get out you will be stuck in the warp forever with no way to escape. To put it simply you’ll be stuck in the virtual world forever, in this second layer of the virtual world. With this the gloobas will be successful in taking over the universe with no one around to put a stop to them.” The Elder God tells Angel the horrible truth of what would happen if the fail. “Well I must go now. I have to warn the others. Good Luck Angel!” The Elder God disappears off to the air.

“Well looks like I’ll be solo for this mission, oh my friends I hope you’re all ok.” Angel says in his mind with concern.

He begins his quest in Fujin going straight for the mountain. He feels a strong gust of wind as he begins to cross a bridge with no railings or anything to hang onto. He finds that he is being attacked by the wind dragons that were flying above him. Angel begins to lose his balance as he gets dangerously close to the edge. He realizes that he has no weapons anymore and no way to take out the dragons that were continuously blowing strong gusts of wind in his direction.

Angel gets up as fast he can and decides that he has to make a run for it. All of a sudden the bridge begins to crumble under all of the strong gusts of wind.

“Crap I better run, because that is one hell of a drop even in the virtual world!” Angel says as he begins to sprint towards the other side.

As he runs he gets knocked down constantly by the winds, but continues to get right back up. He has no choice but to continue as the bridge continues to collapse behind him. One of the dragons tries to tackle Angel, but somehow he is able to jump over the dragon. Even Angel is amazed that he was able to jump over the dragon the way he did.

“Wow how the hell did I do that? Must have been pure instinct, anyway I can’t slow down I gotta reach the other side!” Angel says to him self running out of breath towards the end of his statement.

He continues to sprint through the bridge as fast as he can. Fatigue begins to kick in for Angel slowing him down a little bit, but he keeps up the running as there is no other alternative. Then he sees two Troopia’s on separate platforms that have betrayed their own kind to join the gloobas. These Troopias though are electrified or at least their shells are. The two creatures throw their electrified shells at Angel and he is able to jump over one of them. The second shell misses Angel and hits the wind dragons killing them. Angel is shocked that he actually got help from the enemy, although it’s unintentional.

The bridge continues to collapse behind him and he continues to run although his leg begins to feel numb. He can see the other side of the bridge, but also two more electrified Troopias as well. Angel decides that his legs were going to pass out and he wouldn’t be able to make it. So he decides to do a somersault to get to the other side of the bridge. He pays no attention of the shells that head in his direction as his only concern is to get to the other side.

Angel executes the jump and hopes for the best… The bridge collapses completely and the winds begin to subside. There is a 10 minute period where there is no movement or any wind for that matter. Question is where is Angel? Is he still alive or did he fall to his death?

Once the dust settles, Angel is on the other side of the bridge barely getting up. He rests on the rock for a few minutes to gather himself, however he doesn’t have much time to waste as time is a precious resource that is running out quickly. He cracks his back and the sound is so loud that it could be heard in the echoes.

“Wow my back must had been all screwed up, at least cracking it helped it out. Anyway it’s time to climb this mountain.” Angel says in his mind.

Angel stretches again to loosen his body as he prepares for the climb. He gets on the mountain and begins his trek up the mountain. As first it’s an easy trek going up and he simply keeps going up without an issue. As he gets towards the middle of the climb he begins to notice the wind picks up and the sound of thunder gets louder. He tries to climb even faster up, but the wind knocks off the mountain. He is able to grab the edge of an extended part of the mountain and pull himself to a small platform.

“Whew! That was a close call. It’s definitely getting much windier here.” Angel says in his head relieved he is still alive. “No those damn wind dragons are back again! To add insult to injury there’s one of those electrified Troopias on the other platform.” He says when he notices he is being double teamed.

  The Troopia throws its el
ectrified shell at Angel and a wind dragon is behind Angel ready to blow him off the platform. Angel times his side-step perfectly so that the shell ends up hitting the wind dragon behind him. The Troopia retrieves its shell and once again aims for Angel. Angel sees a large rock and decides to throw it at the shell looking to deflect the shell right back at the turtle creature. He picks up the rock and throws it at the shell. Just like he thought would happen the shell gets deflected back at the Troopia electrocuting the turtle creature.

“Ouch that had to hurt! At least I know what cooked turtle smells like.” Angel says humorously to him self.

He gets back onto the mountain and resumes his climb up the mountain. He sees numerous electrified Troopias climbing up or in some cases just staying in that area waiting for him. He carefully negotiates the mountain going around the Troopias and avoids contact with them. After a long climb, Angel is finally at the top of the mountain. He stops again to catch his breath and sees the temple in the distance. However there are many broken platforms of what used to be a pathway to the temple and the wind has really picked up. Another thing is the wind is picking up although the wind is mostly coming from below him.

He begins to move forward and sees a couple of electrified Troopias come down from above. The two of them try to attack him with their claws, but Angel is able to roll out of the way of the attacks. He jumps up and does a mid air kick on one of the Troopias that kicks it off the platform. He is then grabbed by the other Troopia who tries to powerbomb him, but he is able to wiggle his way out of the powerbomb. He then sweep kicks the creature getting it down to the floor. After that he grabs the head of the creature and twists it until it pops out with the signature green blood that he has gotten used to seeing. Angel felt some pleasure in beheading the creature, but was careful to control his feelings.

“Come on Angel. Focus on the mission at hand. Looks like fun getting to that temple.” Angel says to him self as he prepares for the trek to the temple, at the same time still thinking of the others.

Angel jumps on the first platform, but notices the second platform is out of his reach. He wonders how he is going to reach that platform. He remembers that the wind was blowing up from below which was impossible back in the real world, but he knows that in the virtual world the rules are meant to be broken. The wind blows strongly from below in the space separating the two platforms. He rides the wind current pushing him up to the other platform with ease. A dragon-like creature with a human-like body awaits Angel on top of the platform. Angel tries to convince the guard that he is not with the enemy, but the dragon does not buy into the story and begins to attack Angel.

The dragon is rather dexterous and counters each of Angel’s attacks. The dragon returns the favor and attacks Angel, but Angel is just as dexterous as the dragon. So the fight is a stalemate for about five minutes, until a wind dragon blows a gust of wind which knocks both of them down. Angel is able to hang onto a rock as the wind is being blown. The dragon isn’t as lucky and is blown off the platform.

Meanwhile Angel is holding on for dear life hoping the wind calms down or stops. After a minute the wind from the dragon begins to weaken and he uses that time to get off the platform moving on to the next platform. The next platform is unreachable with a normal jump. Luckily he sees the wind current still hanging in strong. Angel rides the current to the next platform before it eventually dies out. On the next platform Angel fights more Dragon Guardians who are the guards in charge of protecting the temple. He is able to defeat the Dragon Guardians with difficulty, suffering small bruises.

“These guys are tough, this world is crazy and the wind here is crazy strong! However if I want a normal life for once I have to try harder!” Angel keeping him self motivated.

Angel arrives at the next obstacle which is a series of platforms that are reachable but collapses once is stepped on. It’s probably due to wind damage and the continuous winds. So Angel has to be quick about getting from platform to platform. He gets on the first platform and then jumps to the next one as the first one behind him collapses. He continues the pace until he reaches the fifth platform where he nearly misses and has to climb up from the edge. Luckily for him the fifth platform is stable giving him some time to catch his breath. The thunder sound only gets louder as each minute passes and the skies only darken.

“The skies are darkening, but is it going to rain. I really hope not, last thing I need is rain to slip me up with these jumps.” Angel hoping no rain will fall despite the threatening looking clouds.

Angel fights some more electrically charged Troopias who just finished killing off several Dragon Guardians. He jumps up while dodging one of the Troopias, who is spinning violently in his direction. The creature ends up falling off the platform under its own momentum. During his jump he does a midair kick knocking down the two remaining Troopias onto the floor. After the jump though Angel is shocked by the simple fact he made contact with the electrified Troopias.

“Agghhhh! Damn that really stings me big time, but I can’t give up! I gotta keep on going if I’m to save my own hide.” Angel says in great pain after being shocked with over one-thousand volts of electricity.

He is able to discharge himself by using a rock to ground himself and then uses the rock to throw at one of the Troopias. He knocks out one of the Troopias, leaving only one left to be dealt with. The last Troopia grabs Angel and attempts to shock him, but he is able to poke the Troopia in the eyes. He grabs the Troopias tail and uses all his strength to swing the creature off the platform. Fatigue is really kicking in for Angel. He has been using all of his energy to deal with every obstacle thrown at him. He then finds a couple of things next to a corpse of a Dragon Guardian. One is a piece of gold with a Gemini symbol, which he decides to keep as it might be a key to something. The other is a green liquid, but the label is written in Japanese.

He takes his chances drinking the green liquid knowing that it could be something that raises his stamina or something that kills him after drinking.

“I don’t know if I should be drinking this, but it’s either this or nothing. I’m far too weak to do much of anything.” Angel says to him self in a weak tone.

He takes the liquid and drinks it like he hasn’t had a drink of water in days. At first he feels no difference in condition, but after a few minutes he begins to feel his back and neck feel loose. In fact he begins to feel his whole body unlock and he gets a sudden boost in energy. It turns out that the liquid was a formula used since ancient Japan back during the Yamato family days. It was used to give downed soldiers a second wind and get them back into the battle. Angel feels rejuvenated and ready for anything.

He arrives at the end of the platform and the other side of the large gap the temple stands. He stands for a few minutes waiting for the wind current to arrive, but it never does. He looks down on the floor and sees a symbol of the Gemini sign. Also he sees a small hole which the gold piece he has fits perfectly. He inserts the gold piece into the hole and all of a sudden a powerful wind current begins to push Angel from behind. The wind is so strong it pushes him straight into the entrance of the temple.

“Wow! Now that’s what I call getting a push, well I’m here. Hopefully Mr. Fuji himself will welcome me with open arms and not try to kick my butt.” Angel says in his head as he opens the door to enter the temple.

A strong voice screams out, “Who goes there?”

“I’m Angel Medina, I have been sent here by the Elder God to save the universe and I need you to open your gate so that I along with my friends can go back to our world. Please honorable guardian Fujin my intentions are not to harm your world, the gloobas have done it already.”

“Well Angel you do make a strong case and I see you look true to your word, so I shall spare your life and open up my gate to the ultimate warp. I wish you and your friends the best of luck. Now go!” Fujin says in a friendly but strong tone.

“Yes honorable Fujin, I will not make you regret this decision. You’re doing the cor
rect thing!” Angel says in happiness.

  “Arrgggghhh!” Fujin screams.

“What’s wrong honorable one?” Angel asks in concern.

“I’m being shocked by the evil one. He’s been trying to control me and the other guardians… I been… strong so far… but I feel like… I’m losing control… of myself… please forgive me Angel!” Fujin says as he is weakening.

“Hahaha! That’s right Fujin you’re a shell of what you used to be or at least you were. Now that you’re fighting for our side, you will be a respected and feared guardian!” The voice of the Evil One says in a sinister tone.

“So you’re hiding behind other people, still don’t wanna come and fight me one on one, huh?” Angel asks the Evil One.

“Like I said once and I will say once more, you do not want to meet me! I will be the last face you’ll ever see before your death! Now if you want to get to the gate you must defeat and kill Fujin! Good Luck foolish one!” The Evil One taunts Angel and forces him to fight Fujin who has been taken over by the evil one.

“No I don’t wanna fight you Fujin, but I have no choice. Please forgive me. I know it’s not your fault.” Angel reluctantly begins to prepare to fight Fujin.

Fujin is a demon-like creature and in Japanese mythology is known as the wind God. However in reality, he is the guardian of the wind element that makes up the wind in the entire universe. He has several attacks including a spinning attack that he turns into a mini-tornado and throws his target down to the floor. He is also able to levitate in the air continuously and attack from the air. Finally he is able to put up a shield of wind that blocks any attacks or anyone for that matter from even getting close.
