I proffer my hand and he slips the ring on. I gaze down at it, sparkling in the lights. “We’re engaged.”
“That’s what happens when someone asks you to marry them and you say yes. It’s called cause and effect.”
“Thank you so much for explaining that to me. You’re so wise.”
“There’s plenty more wisdom where that came from.”
“If you mention not eating yellow snow, I might change my decision.”
“I’ll be sure not to do that then.”
We share a smile and I hook my arms around his neck. “I can’t believe you proposed to me wearing a pink gorilla costume,” I say as happiness threatens to burst out of me. “Who knew the famous Wild Boy of Rugby, Nick Zachary was actually a total goofball?”
“A goofball you love,” he replies with a grin.
I pull him in for another kiss. Soft, tender, and sexy. “A goofball I love,” I echo, knowing deep in my heart that Nick is the man for me.
I look over at Sophie and Darcy, who are beaming at us, and I know they are both so very happy for me. I grin back at them, knowing that all of us have been lucky in love.
The No More Bad Dates Pact hasn’t just found the three of us our Happy For Now guys. No way. It’s done so much more than that. With a one hundred percent hit rate it absolutely under-promised and over-delivered. It’s given us all our Happily Ever Afters, and although when I agreed to fake date him, I would never have thought mine would be with Nick Zachary, as I gaze up into his smiling eyes, I’m beyond happy that it is.
