She had to tell them. And whatever happened when she did, she’d deal with it, like the adult that she was. Enough games and subterfuge. She hated it in others, so it was time to stop doing it herself.

  Chapter Nineteen

When Kai pulled up the winding driveway to Jagger’s house, her blood ran cold as she spotted Santos’s squad car. She came inside, and Jagger and Ian stood as she walked into the living room. Jagger took her hand and led her to the spot on the sofa next to him. “It’s finally over. Santos came here to tell us the news.”

She waited for the sergeant to speak first.

“Owen is in custody, but he’s okay. He’s been charged with arson, and with one count of involuntary manslaughter for each of the workers who was killed. Morton Stewart is now his attorney too.”

  “Who’s paying for that?”

  “Your Uncle Jesse.”

She shook her head. “Does he know his son stole money?”

  “He does now.”

She glanced at Jagger and Ian. “They’re all nuts.” She turned her attention back to Santos. “Did you find Penn?”

“Yes, thanks to you. He was in the shack you described, with enough food and bottled water to live there through the winter.”

“As if anyone could hide that long on this island. So what happens now?”

“They wait to stand trial. Morton is already trying to get the venue changed, but Jesse can’t leave the island so that won’t happen.”

She nodded. “The curse. Wow. Talk about karma.”

“Yeah. And Asa is making good on his promise. The construction company won’t go under.”

  “I still can’t believe that.”

  “Why not?” asked Jagger.

  “Because I’m Jesse’s niece.”

Jagger pulled her close. “But you’re our sub, and Asa knows that, too.”

“Thank you for coming here to tell us.”

Santos stood. “You’re welcome. Try to put all this behind you. I know that’s easy to say, but at least as far as your involvement, it’s over.”

After Santos left, Kai turned to face her Doms. “I have something to tell you two.”

“And we have something to tell you. And something for you.” Jagger reached under the sofa and brought out a long box, placing it next to him. Then he took a deep breath. “Kai, Ian and I had a serious talk after you went to bed last night, and we realized something.” He cut his gaze toward Ian for a second. “We love you. We both do. I’ve always loved you. I’ve just been too pig-headed to admit it.”

She put a hand to her mouth. “Oh my God…I love you, too. Both of you. I’ve been so afraid to say it because of all this mess going on. I thought you wouldn’t want me, or that you’d decide my family was too nutty, or I don’t know what I thought.”

The tender, joyous looks in their eyes brought tears to her own.

“Are you kidding?” asked Ian. “With all the crazy shit in our families? Kai…I love you. I’m so crazy about you. And I know this is weird because of the history that Jagger and I share, but you’re the perfect woman for us. We don’t want anyone else, and no one in our families can ever convince us otherwise.”

She wiped the tears off her face. “I love you, too. I’m so overwhelmed right now.”

Jagger grinned. “Then get on your knees, sub.” He opened the box, and she slid off the sofa and knelt. Jagger pulled out the most beautiful necklace she’d ever seen. It had a silver chain, and was adorned with gemstones in the shape of hearts. “We were lucky. The Green Parrot had someone interested in buying this last week, but they never put down a deposit, so they didn’t hold it for them. We thought it made a perfect collar for you because of the hearts.”

  “I love it, Sir.”

He placed it around her neck, and then he gazed into her eyes with nothing short of love. “And I love you, Kai. Will you wear this collar as a symbol of your submission to me? Will you live here with me, or with Ian…oh, hell. We’ll figure that out later. Will you be with me forever, as my lover and my sub? I promise to cherish you, love you, and protect you every day for the rest of my life.”

“Yes, Sir. I will wear this as a symbol of my submission to you. I love you, too. I will love you for the rest of my life.”

She placed a hand on the necklace. A collar. She had a real collar, just like the ones Celina, Alaina, Giselle, Jade, and Leta wore. She was a real sub now. This was tangible proof.

Ian cupped her face. “I love you, Kai. Will you wear this collar as a symbol of your submission to me as well? I want you with me forever, as my lover and my sub. I, too, will love you, cherish you, and protect you for the rest of my life.”

“I love you, too, Ian. I will wear this as a symbol of my submission to you too. I will love you for the rest of my life. I can’t believe this is real.”

Jagger and Ian lifted her to her feet and then took turns hugging her tightly and twirling her around the room. She laughed and cried at the same time, and swore their eyes were moist as well. The nightmare was over, and she hadn’t lost Jagger. She’d gained Ian.

Her status as part-time lover and play partner with both men had gently evolved into a full-time lover and sub, and Kai couldn’t be happier about that. As they took turns kissing her now, and gently stroking her hair and back, her heart nearly burst with joy. She never thought anything like this would happen to her, but it was real. They were real. Her collar was real. And their love for her was real. It was true, and it was perfect.

They were perfect. Her two Doms. And Kai intended to spend the rest of her life making sure both her Doms knew how very, very much she loved them.
