I agreed, and our company got even bigger and more successful than before. It felt like I was Nathan’s lucky charm.
Nathan took me back to The Grizzly Rose several times to get acquainted with his clan. Everybody could see that their Alpha was happy and that I was the reason behind it. They all approved of our blossoming relationship, even Earl turned out to be quite a decent man when he wasn’t falling-down drunk.
With Nathan, I had a hectic life, but I liked the new challenges and experiences we shared. It felt like my life couldn’t get any better. But Nathan was, as always, full of surprises.
“Babe, do you want some more champagne?” he asked me as we were cuddling on our bedroom sofa, admiring the breathtaking sunset.
It was so unbelievably beautiful that I just couldn’t get used to it. I had moved in with Nathan a week after our trip and had witnessed that miracle of nature every evening since, and I still couldn’t get enough.
“Yes, please.”
He refilled my drink and I could see orange bubbles rising in the glass, the amazing sunset as their backdrop. Nathan had been serious – nervous even – the whole evening.
“Honey, are you alright?” I asked, trying to understand his mood.
“More than alright,” he assured me with a big smile and handed me my glass.
Instead of sitting back next to me, he stood in front of me and stretched out his hand. I took it and he helped me up.
“Simona, since I first saw your beautiful, angelic face,” he said as he stroked my cheek, “I knew I had a thing for you. Who would have thought that I would find the love of my life in such a short period of time? But I know now that you are without a doubt my fated mate, my one and only, my queen and my most precious diamond.”
He squared his broad shoulders as if preparing for something very important. He had that golden sheen in his eyes that appeared every time he was overly excited about something.
Suddenly, he gently squeezed my hand and got down on one knee. I knew what was coming and couldn’t hold back my tears any longer. He took out a red suede box from the inside pocket of his jacket and opened it.
“Simona, will you marry me?” he asked with his expression so sincere.
“Yes!” I yelled out without any hesitation as tears rolled down my cheeks.
He slipped the most beautiful ring with a big princess-cut diamond on my ring finger and I dropped to my knees to be face to face with him. I kissed him and just couldn’t get enough of his taste. I was crying and laughing and feeling the happiest I had ever been.
“Do you want to go and christen my new office?” I asked seductively, my body still tingling from the kiss.
Bradley’s old office was now mine and had just been redecorated. I didn’t have to ask my man twice.
“Grab the car keys,” he said in a haste, wearing the biggest smile I had ever seen.
