“I’ll be okay,” I whispered. “There’s a few things I need to take care of before I can get back to reality. I think I need to make a trip to Michigan.”
“Do you really think that’s a good idea? Maybe I should go with you.”
“No, you’ve already done more than enough for me. This is something I have to do on my own.”
There was no way in hell I was sleeping a wink tonight. No, I needed to plan, a plan that would pay him back for all that he had put me through. I would make him regret the day he ever laid a hand on me. When I was finished, everyone would know what a monster he really was. I just hoped that I wasn’t too late, that his current wife hadn’t already felt the wrath of his anger and all of the lies that he spun.
I got out of bed after I heard her soft snoring and tiptoed to the computer, powering it back up. I needed to do something. I needed to warn her—if the abuse hadn’t already started. I reopened the article I was looking at earlier, my eyes hesitating on the picture of him before I read the caption and found what I was looking for.
There was her name. Campbell Wynn-Crawford.
I had to find a way to save her.
And repay that bastard husband of mine and make him regret ever laying a harmful finger on me. That monster would wish that he had never been born.
