The Warrior In Me Page 19

by Anita Philmar

A gush of need flowed between her legs.

He shifted his mouth and nibbled on her neck. “I want to kiss every inch of you. Then go back and do it again and again.”

Unable to protest, at least not while trying to catch her breath, she moaned her approval.

A small chuckle rumbled from his throat before his mouth settled over her breast. The heavenly suction drew her head off the pillow. She buried her hands in his hair and held him close. Then he drove her absolutely out of her mind by nibbling on the tip.

  “Please, Sebastian,” she cried. “I can’t take…”

He acknowledged her need by slipping a hand down the center of her body and dipped a finger between her folds. Shifting a knee between hers, he opened a place for himself.

Desperate, she rocked her hips, hoping to encourage him to give her what she needed. The depraved man ignored her hints and nipped at her nipple before soothing it with a swipe of his velvety tongue. The light stroke of his fingers between the delicate pleats of her pussy didn’t help her situation either. The passion inside her mounted. He dipped a finger into her heat and matched the rhythm of his thrust to the tweaks over her breast.

For long intense minutes, he played until his mouth popped free and he shifted his attention to her other breast. Only this time, he didn’t use his teeth. No, he closed his mouth over the tight peak and sucked greedily, rubbing the hard tip against the roof of his mouth.

Lily moaned, hoping, needing, wanting so much more.

He delivered, drawing harder on her flesh, pulling as much of her breast into the hot haven of his mouth as he could then tugging slowly free before he repeating the same action again…and again.

Raking her fingers through his hair, she bit her lip to hold back the scream building in her chest. He’d taken possession of her body and demanded she give him what he wanted. The hand between her legs got busy, and another finger joined the party, sliding through her wet folds, gathering moisture and spreading it over her swollen lips and into hidden valleys.

Then, as if sensing her impending orgasm, he lifted his head and his searing gaze fell on her face. “Open your eyes, Lily.”

The heavy weight of her eyelids required she devote a lot of otherwise occupied brainpower to the task. Finally, she managed and stared at his handsome face.

“You belong to me.” The dangerous glint in his eyes drove home the importance of the statement. “Understood?”

She blinked, uncertain as to what he wanted her to say. Apparently unhappy with her lack of response, he slipped his hand free and shifted onto all fours over her. His imposing bulk blocked the view of the room. He ground out through his gritted teeth, “You’re all mine.”

With her heart racing, she struggled to understand the meaning of his comment. “Okay.”

“Not the answer I was looking for.” He scooted lower and his hands caressed her ribcage, stomach, and drew her thighs farther apart. He settled his shoulders between them. His gaze meandered across her body, pausing at a few strategic spots.

“Then tell me what to say?” she argued and clutched at his shoulders. Was this another unique attribute to having Neanderthal DNA?

A wicked grin developed on his lips, and he dipped his head. The warmth of his breath swept over her pussy. The light hairs ruffled by the erotic breeze sent her mind scrambling for the right encouragement.

“Would it help to say I like the idea?” she offered.

He licked her folds, and she almost bolted off the bed, panting for breath and waiting for him to continue.

He didn’t. Instead, his hard gaze met hers over the length of her torso. “And?”

“You’re killing me here. You won’t tell me what to say or give me relief. What do you want from me?” She rolled up, shoving hard to free his hands from her legs.

“Everything,” he whispered and set his mouth on her. The lash of his tongue bombarded her senses. He quickly whipped her hunger back to a feverous pitch. Once he found her clit, he sucked on the small bud before thrusting his tongue deep. He followed almost immediately by licking her slit from end to end. Then he started the whole routine over, arousing her to the point she was sure any second she’d explode.

Convinced that was exactly what he wanted when his pace increased, she dug her fingers into the sheet. He thrust his tongue faster and harder into her pussy. The added pleasure of his fingers plucking at her clit allowed her no rest.

Provoked beyond her endurance, she shifted her hips, driving them at him, demanding relief from the firestorm he created inside her. The first spasms hit. She screamed, but he didn’t stop. No, he continued to slam deep while the muscles of her cunt fought to capture his elusive tongue.

The intense climax robbed her of air, and she gasped for breath. Her body broke out in a fine sheen of perspiration. She rode out the last waves of pleasure as he lapped at her cream.

Completely sated, Lily remained motionless and struggled to get her heartbeat back under control.

Sebastian rose over her body. The musky scent of sex drew her eyes open. Moisture circled his lips. He smiled and dropped his mouth over hers, giving her a taste of herself. She wrapped her arms around his neck and deepened the kiss. His body slid over hers. The tip of his erection settled against her entrance, teasing her.

Taking less than a nanosecond to agree with his next move, she broke away from his kiss to gulp for air. “Sebastian.”

“Right here.” He chuckled softly and with a quick heave buried his cock ball-deep inside her. His muffled groan didn’t end before she released a hungry sigh of her own.

Enthralled with the stretching sensation his thick girth inspired, she wrapped her legs around his hips. The change in position slid Sebastian deeper. She swore she could feel his stroke rippling throughout her entire body. The shock waves overwhelmed her and increased her cravings.

Sebastian rested his weight on his arms, his fingers digging into the soft flesh of her shoulders as he powered into her. His strong grip kept her from being driven into the headboard with each hard slam of his body into hers. She eagerly met each thrust, wanting only for him to pound harder.

Her appetite grew with the slight shift of his position. The fire inside raged higher. She wanted the soldering heat to fuse them together so she wouldn’t know where he ended and she began.

Just as she became convinced her body would hang on this sharp edge forever, the rough pad of his thumb and forefinger pinched her nipple, twisting the tip. The added stimulation shoved her over, and the exquisite waves of her climax hit. Spasms shook her to the core, ripping through her like a hungry beast. Dimly, a cry registered, a loud shrill noise she’d never heard before, and she realized it had come from her.

Air rushed from her lungs as Sebastian rammed home one last forceful thrust. His body tensed, and he trembled with his release.

Lily tightened her hold briefly before relaxing back onto the mattress. His earlier ultimatum filtered through her head, and she admitted he’d gotten it right. She did belong to him.

Now, if they could only clear her name, they might have a future together.

Sebastian woke later, uncertain as to the time because of the metal blinds outside the windows shutting out the light. A low rumble in his stomach reminded him it’d been hours since he’d eaten. Still, the fresh scent of the soft, naked woman beside him reminded him of the pleasure he’d experienced from their earlier encounter.

Strung out on his concern for Lily, he hadn’t been gentle when they’d come together. Instead, the raw, furious sex had bordered on an uncompromising joining that could possibly send her rushing for the door today.

Sadly, he’d needed to hear her say she wouldn’t let anything stand in the way of them being together. Instead, her simple “okay” after he’d proclaimed she belong to him had unleashed a primal urge to dominate. As if transported into the time of his primordial ancestors, he answered the call to stake a claim she couldn’t ignore.

Minutes after he’d climaxed, he realized his mistake and opened his mouth to question her. A light snore had escaped her lips. Not anxious to have her kick him out of bed, he’d let her rest and held her close throughout the night…day.

He stifled a yawn, amazed at how refreshed he felt. Guiding a hand down her back, he eased slowly away hoping to make his escape without waking her. The second his hand lifted from her body, she moaned.

Pausing, he waited for some other reaction before continuing out of bed. A few inches from the edge, she clamped a hand over his stomach.

“Where are you going?” she grumbled.

“I thought I’d head to the kitchen and fix us something to eat.” He placed his hand over hers. “If you let me up, I’ll whip something up while you take a shower.”

Lily rose onto one elbow and flipped on the light beside the bed. Their activity had knotted her blonde hair into a sexy mess. The thin sheet he’d retrieved from the bottom of the bed to cover them lay tucked under her arms, hiding the lush swell of her breasts.

She blinked several times, and her velvety brown eyes met his. “Are you saying I stink?”

“What?” He leaned forward, intent on acquiring a quick taste of her lips before heading for the door.

“You heard me.” She held out her hand to hold him at bay, but he easily overcame the barrier and kissed her.

“I just figured you might enjoy a shower to get your day going. If not, then you can help me fix breakfast.” He rolled out of bed and strolled across the ultra-modern room. The modular furniture did nothing for him, but Rex insisted it accented the simplicity of the setting. Strange considering he spent so much time reviewing ancient scripts and talking to the elders that he should enjoy such modern decor. Maybe, it was the one area in his life where he revealed his age.

  “Wait.”

He stopped next to the wall of glass and hit the button to raise the metal blinds. The soft glow of dawn lit the sky. Below, the Pacific Ocean rushed toward the cream-colored beaches. White waves crashed on the shore, then flowed endlessly back into the surf.

Enjoying the serene view, he imagined standing inside his house, looking at the same vast ocean. There he’d not see people for days. Here he could already see joggers running along the water’s edge. Isolation, could be both a blessing and a curse. He’d have to remember to tell Lily not to go beyond the deck without him.

“Oh, my, what a beautiful place,” she gushed at the view in front of them.

With the beach a good distance from them, he didn’t worry about anyone seeing inside. Though, if someone could, they’d get an eyeful.

“Why didn’t you tell me this was behind the screen?” Lily shot him an accusing glare.

“And when, may I ask, would I have told you?”

She frowned and whirled around to stare at the scenery. “I needed sleep.”

“We both did.” He stepped away without touching her. If he did, they’d end up back in bed. The distance between them grew. He felt every inch, hoping his caveman antics last night hadn’t created any problems. Today, she appeared to want to talk to him. Also, she’d come apart in his arms earlier. He smiled at the notion of everything working out between them and closed his hand around the doorknob.

“Sebastian, what did you want me to say last night?”

He paused and glanced over his shoulder. Her beautiful body silhouetted by the dawn of a new day stole his breath. The idea of this gorgeous creature belonging to him alone seemed almost ludicrous. Yet, some primitive instinct made him want to pound on his chest and yell to the world that no one could touch her but him.

“Sebastian?” She pulled his focus up to her face and away from the smooth swells of her breasts.

Drawing in a fortifying breath, he said, “Why don’t we wait until after you take a shower, and we’ve had breakfast? Then we’ll both be awake enough to discuss it.”

With a slight tilt of her head, she scanned him from head to toe and nodded. “If that’s what you want.”

She walked to the door on the opposite side of the room. After turning the handle, she stepped inside the bathroom and gave him a little wave before closing the door.

Only then did the pressure in his chest ease. He caught sight of his pants lying on the floor by the end of the bed. Rex had provided them with extra clothing. The only problem was, they were in the closet and the only access was through the bathroom. Deciding to go commando, he slid on his pants and dug his cell phone from his pocket.

Walking through the condo, he caught the view of the ocean outside the large windows of the main living area. The clear sky said it’d be another beautiful day in California. The L-shape leather couch formed a walkway to the door and sectioned off the dining area. He didn’t particularly like the ultra-modern decor. But the minimal furnishings gave one plenty of room to move about.

Pausing at the entrance to the kitchen, Sebastian checked the messages on his cell phone.

“Hello, son,” his grandfather’s message boomed through the receiver.

Sebastian silently chastised himself for not calling yesterday after Cain’s funeral.

“I had a chance to talk to Austin. He said his mother really appreciated your call and looks forward to seeing you and your new girlfriend when you come home. Now, my question is, is he talking about Lily, and if so, why haven’t you called to tell me about her? Was Cain right? Is she your perfect mate? Why hold out on me, or is that special ability you keep denying at work here? Look forward to talking to you soon. Love you. Bye.”

  Shit.

Ready to argue the point with his grandfather, Sebastian listened to his partner’s message.

“Hey, Sebastian, Rex told me you have Lily in hiding. Thankfully, he didn’t tell me where because the police are not happy with not being able to take her into custody. Apparently, Detective Callahan is being pressured to wrap up this case quickly.

“Also, Zane is busy arguing her case and has met with the police a few times to point out that others could be guilty of committing Mark’s murder. I’ll let you know of any new developments.” Bruce chuckled. “Have fun in hiding, buddy.”

Checking the date on his phone, Sebastian realized they’d lost almost twenty-four hours. Cain had been killed last Friday, Mark Saturday. Most murders weren’t solved overnight unless the killer stood over their victims with a smoking gun.

He set his cell on the granite counter top, opened the refrigerator, and scanned the contents. They could be here for a while. He’d better make sure he had a good answer for his behavior last night, or Lily could make this time together pure hell.

  Chapter Nineteen

Twenty minutes later, Sebastian glanced across the breakfast table with renewed energy.

Lily had emerged from the bedroom with a smile, her long, lush body encased in a red tank top and a pair of white shorts. She’d eaten breakfast without any reference to their discussion in bed and appeared perfectly content to continue in such a manner.

“Because we’re trying to avoid the police, I’m afraid we’re confined to the condo, which means you need to stay inside and out of sight.” Sebastian slid back his chair and rose with his plate in his hand.

“Right, and have you thought anymore about my theory that Devin might be Mark’s killer. If you let me run a DNA test, we could determine if Mark is Devin’s father.” Lily stood and retrieved her items from the table.

Her soft footsteps behind him informed Sebastian she’d followed him into the kitchen. He paused by the dishwasher and set his plate on the counter. “Could someone else do the test?”

“Yes, but do we really want to involve someone else? It’s not like it would take a long time. And if we did it after the lab closed, no one would have to know we were even there.” She placed her plate beside his before she returned to the breakfast nook area.

“I believe you’re onto something, but it could take weeks for the police to run DNA testing to determine the identity of Devin’s parents.” He raised his han
d to cut off her argument. “I know you can do the test much more quickly, but going to the lab would also expose you to possible danger. Not only are the police looking for you but also the killer. We can’t take that chance.”

“Fine,” she answered, her irritation showing in her high pitched tone.

Bringing in the rest of their breakfast dishes, she set them on the counter and circled around to the other side of the kitchen’s bar. “Great, then that gives us plenty of time for you to explain yourself.”

  “In regards to what?”

“With your wild caveman antics and the you belong to me.” She pounded her fists against her chest.

“I thought women liked it when men said they were a valued addition to their lives.” He started loading the dishwasher to keep from spouting off something equally as lame as she was the center of his universe.

She grinned. “That only makes me wonder if you’re buying a car, not telling a girl you care about her. Of course, some men like their vehicles better than their girlfriends.”

“Now, you’re just being obtuse,” he grumbled.

“Really? Tell me what you think of when I say ‘Sebastian, sweetheart, you belong to me.’” She rolled her eyes. “I must be old-fashioned, but I prefer a simple I love you. Which if you remember correctly, I’ve already admitted to you that I do.”

He left the remaining dishes on the counter and walked out of the kitchen. “And you think you belong to me and you’re mine don’t cut it?”

“Exactly, man up and say those three little words every woman longs to hear.” She crossed her arms and stared at him when he stopped in front of her.

Dammit, didn’t she understand the depth of his feelings for her? “You pass muster?”

His attempt at humor fell flat and she frowned. “Try again.”

“Sex with you is awesome—wait, wait, that’s too many words.” He stepped closer and caught her around the waist, drawing her close. “I can’t imagine living without you.”

“You still don’t have it right. And I’m beginning to think you have more Neanderthal DNA in you than I initially thought.” She rubbed her hands over his chest.
