I moved toward the fountain and discovered Max posted up in the same spot where I'd met him.
"Hi, Max," I said gently, moving toward him.
He turned and smiled up at me. "Ah, corporate girl. You've got my boy all twisted up, you know."
I nodded. Somehow, I did know. I'd been just as 'twisted up' since the moment we left Denver. "Is he here?"
Max pressed his lips together and crossed his arms over his chest. "And why would I tell you that?"
I sighed. "I just need to talk to him."
Max gave me a hard look before it softened. He let out a breath. "He's in the art center. Come on. I'll take you."
He led me through a vaguely familiar path to the student art center and jimmied open the door for me. I slipped inside and made a quick path to the computer room where I knew he'd be. It was almost as if I could feel him in the air. An electricity coursing through me.
Arieon stilled when he looked up from his computer and saw me. "Ellen." He climbed to his feet. "What are you doing here?"
"I came to see you."
"Why?"
I moved toward him and he took a step back. Jesus, I'd done a number on him. "I'm sorry," I blurted. "I fucked up. Unmessy and uncomplicated was..." I shook my head. "I want you, Arieon." There it was plain and simple. Saying it suddenly made me feel naked.
"You mean, you want to fuck me."
A laugh behind me reminded me that Max was still there, watching us.
I moved forward and breathed a sigh of relief when Arieon didn't move away. I reached out for him, wrapping my arms around him. He stood stiffly in my grasp before he eased, giving in and embracing me back.
"Yes, Arieon. I want to fuck you," I said softly. "A lot," I added with a grin. I tilted my head to stare up into his eyes. "But I also want you. I want you and everything that you're willing to give me."
Arieon tightened his hold on me as he leaned down to suck me into a deep, affectionate kiss. I'd never thought that kisses could be X-rated but by the time he released my lips, I was certain we weren't suitable for children.
Arieon cupped my face and looked into my eyes. He smiled and my heart fluttered in my chest. "I'd give you everything, Ellen Carp."
