Stone: The Ties that Bind (The Forbidden Love Series Book 4) Page 13

by Angel Rose

Mel shrugged her shoulders. Jacob slapped her hard across her face. She groaned in pain.

“McGuiness and Andrew knew each other…very well, didn’t they Mel.”

“Yeah, McGuiness was on Andrew’s payroll.” She giggled.

“Exactly. Now, we’re getting somewhere.” He rubbed Mel’s face gently then moved closer to her.

“What did Andrew ask Detective McGuiness to do?”

“He asked him to get someone to forge Stone’s birth certificate to make Madison and Stone look related so they could lose custody of the kids. So, they couldn’t be together. Even though that didn’t stop them.” She said nervously.

“And who did McGuiness ask for help?” he blew the cigar smoke in her face.

  “Me.” She said angrily.

  “Why?”

“Because he knew I knew you.”

  “Exactly. Did you ask me?”

  “Yes.”

  “And did I follow through?”

  “Yes.”

  “Did I make it happen?”

  “Yes.”

“Not even my best friend knew that, right, Mel?”

  “No.”

“You broke poor Madison’s heart, didn’t you?”

“No, you did. I loved Madison. I don’t care what you think?”

“Really? What did you ever do for her?”

“I gave her my car and money, sometimes to feed the kids.”

  Jacob began to clap.

“You mean this kid over here who was just a baby. The baby Madison was carrying around acting like mommy at the age of eighteen?” he shouted. “You are mother of the year, Mel!” He shouted. “But you know what you really are? a piece of shit. You never cease to amaze me, Mel. Not the in-law I ever wanted, but you are somebody I admire right now. You really don’t give a shit, do you?”

“I don’t. I never wanted kids. Ana was a product of me being raped.” She yelled. My stomach tightened. “What do you give a fuck? What are you a vigilante or something?”

“Am I supposed to feel sorry for you you old bitch. I’m Madison’s father.”

“Father? You’re a murderer. A murderer.” She said laughing. “Then why do you want to kill her?”

“Because if she finds out any of this, I’ll lose everything.”

“Then why don’t you just kill them all?”

  “I am.” He whispered.

I swallowed hard and stood up from the bed. He turned to me and grabbed me by the arm and sat me down on the blood-soaked corner.

“So, with that being said, you ruined a lot of lives along the way. Have you no shame old lady?”

“I’ve lived my life the best way my mother taught me. I didn’t know any other way. I can’t apologize for something I didn’t know about. I won’t apologize for who I am. I raised Ana the best way I knew how, and I raised Madison the best way I knew how.”

“The best way? Raising your daughter to be a prostitute and junkie? You know what you are Mel? You’re a junkie, Mel. You never loved Ana. You never loved Madison or your grandchildren. You were a rotten mother, grandmother and person and no one would miss you if you died.”

“Fuck you, Jacob. You’re no better than me. You never loved Madison and now you want her dead. You’re no different than me, except you have a badge and a five-thousand-dollar suit, so fuck you!” She said through gritted teeth.

“No, fuck you.” Jacob placed the gun against her forehead and pulled the trigger. Her head exploded right before my eyes.

I screamed and covered my face as I rolled off the side of the bed and fell on to the dead body Jacob had killed the night before. You could hear my screams in the heavens. I crawled towards the window and placed my hands over my head.

“Did you have to shoot her right in front of my goddamn face, Jacob!” Jordania yelled.

“Shut up. Let’s get out of here. I have the whole clan waiting for me at the hotel. It’s going to be a deathfest Alyssa, in your honor.” He smiled.

“No. No. I won’t let you do it!” I screamed.

“Get up bitch!” he grabbed me by the hair and dragged me out of the room. “You better follow Jordania. I’m not doing this alone.” He said as he continued to drag me down the hallway.

I made it to the staircase and with one thrust, Jacob pushed me down the stairs. I rolled down the stairs hitting my head on the way down. I knew he was going to kill me. It was just a matter of time.

“Why don’t you just shoot her now?” Jordania shouted.

“No, it has to be done execution style, so the cops can believe it was a drug deal gone wrong.”

  “Amateur.” She said.

“She already has the drugs in her system. We just need to get them all together.”

I thought I was hearing things. Drugs? That’s why I woke up so groggy.

  “What about Jacks?”

  “He’s on board.”

  “You believe that?”

“I’ve known him for twenty-five years. Besides, I don’t need to justify shit to you. You’re lucky you’re still alive.”

“You’re an asshole you know that.” I rubbed my head and tried to push myself to reach the bottom of the staircase.

My eyes were blurry. I could see a double shadow, both walking down the stairs slowly. I couldn’t get my legs to move quicker than my mind was. Before I could turn around, Jacob lifted me from the floor. Every bone in my body cracked.

“Jacob wait,” Jordania said as she fixed her shoe.

“I don’t have time for you Jordania.” Jacob said.

He grabbed my arm tighter, turned around, pulled out his gun and shot Jordania in the chest. I tried to pull away from him and he grabbed on to me tighter. Jordania fell against the bottom of the steps. A single gunshot wound to the chest caused the blood to poor out at rapid speed. I shook my head and pulled away from him again.

“I’ll place this gun in your mouth and pull the trigger. Don’t make me kill you Alyssa. Not now.” He whispered.

My whole body trembled. I did as he said. I wanted to live as long as I could. I wanted to see my family again.

“Jacob…” Jordania whispered. “Help me, please” she whispered.

I started to cough. I felt so nauseous. I turned to my side and threw up.

“Get your shit together little girl.” He barked.

“Please, let me go.” I whispered.

Jacob walked towards Jordania. I grabbed the back of my head that was pounding from being thrown down the stairs.

  “Jacob…” Jordania pleaded.

Jacob stopped in front of Jordania.

“I never liked you, Jordania. Never. You’re a dirty whore who sells young girls for money. You’re no better than that old bitch up there. Say hello to Andrew for me.”

He shot Jordania four more times, turned around and walked towards me with the gun in his hand. I closed my eyes and waited for him to shoot me.

“Let’s go.” He grabbed me by the arm as I cried. He placed the gun back in his holster. “Dammit, I’ll need more bullets. Stupid bitch just had to push me.” He snickered.

We walked out of the stairwell and into the lobby of a run-down hotel. He waived at the receptionist and I stared at her, trying to let her know with my eyes that I was in trouble. She smiled at me and I looked away.

“She’s a friend of mine. She probably thinks you’re a whore. Are you a whore, Alyssa? Like your mother?” he chuckled.

“Please, I’ll do anything you want. Don’t hurt my mother. Please, I’ll do anything you want.” I begged.

“Get in the car.” He said.

“Please, don’t do this.” I pleaded.

He pulled out his gun from his ankle holster.

“I’m not that stupid. Get in the car, Alyssa.” He pushed me into the car.

  “Why are you doing this?”

“I can’t have any witnesses living. I’m being investigated because of those fucking birth certificates; because of that murder in Syracuse. I have a lot to lo
se little girl. You and your trailer trash family have nothing to lose.”

“We have everything to lose. Momma is your daughter. You never got to know her.” I tried to find compassion, empathy, anything, but this man was cold as ice.

“She’s never going to forgive me for getting in between Stone and her, and to be honest, I don’t want to get to know her. I don’t give two shits about her, you, or Daniel. I need to protect my job and my investments.” He sat back, pulled out a cigar out of his suit pocket and lit it. My heart sank. My time was limited. “Sit back kid. Soon, this will all be over.”

“Please, I’ll do anything to save their lives. Just tell me what to do.” I pleaded.

“Anything?” he said with an evil grin.

  “Yes.” I whispered nervously.

“Hmm…that’s a tough one.” He sucked on that cigar the way he sucked the life out of me. I was terrified.

My body ached, and my bones cracked from being pushed down the stairs. I didn’t realize how badly I was hurt until a sharp pain stabbed me in the ribs. But, I didn’t care. I was in defense mode. Ready to save my life and the lives of the people I loved. “You’re beautiful. You know that right. Even battered and bruised, you’re fucking beautiful.”

“Please don’t do that. Madison is my mother.”

“She’s your fucking sister.” He blew the smoke from the cigar in my face.

“You’ve been a bad girl Alyssa, I think you need a spanking.” He grabbed my arm and made me sit on his lap. I could feel his erection underneath me. “I’ve had girls younger than you, you know.” He whispered in my ear. “You’re something special, pure and innocent.” I cringed as he kissed my cheek.

“I’ll do what you want. Just don’t hurt them, okay.” I stared into his eyes, pleading with him. I leaned in and kissed him on the lips.

“You’re such a good girl.” He whispered as he pushed up against me.

“Sir, we’re almost there.” The driver shouted.

“Can I have a fucking minute here?” He yelled at the driver. He palmed my breasts with his hands. “When they’re dead, I’m going to fuck you like I own you little girl. I think I’m going to keep you for myself. Like a little mail order bride.” His response shocked me and with everything I had inside me, I jammed my elbow into his balls so hard I hurt myself. He keeled over and screamed bloody murder and as he did, I kicked him in the face with all my might, over and over until I saw blood gushing from his mouth. I noticed his gun in his holster. I kicked him as hard as I could as he tried to get up. He would’ve killed me for sure.

The bottle of wine that was in the mini fridge in the car was at my disposable, but I couldn’t get to it. I kept kicking him in every part of his body, he reached out for me and got a hold of my foot. Now, I only had one foot to kick him with. He released my other foot to reach for his gun and I bit his hand as hard as I could until I felt the coppery liquid in my mouth.

“You crazy fucking bitch, let go of me!” He said swinging his fist towards my face.

The shot to the side of my cheek with his fist was clear, but not enough to knock me out. I was dazzled for a moment. I stared at his hand that bared the mark of my angry teeth on his skin. I quickly grabbed on to his waist from behind, not giving him a chance to lunge at me. If I had let him go, he would’ve kill me for sure. We were crawling on the floor of the back of the car like two wrestlers. I tried to grab his balls. I had to use everything I had to keep on fighting.

I finally reached for the wine bottle and slipped from his grip, cracking him on the back of the head with it. The bottle didn’t even break. He yelled and grabbed his head with his hands. I jumped on his back. He pushed me off him with the force of his back, drew his gun from his holster, turned towards me and fired his gun, hitting the side passenger window in the back making the driver swerve out of control. We were thrown around the car as the driver tried to get control of the car. His head was bleeding a little, not much, but enough to distract him and pick up a piece of glass and stab him in the leg.

  “Fucking bitch!” He cried.

I screamed and yelled through the broken window. The driver pulled over and turned off the car. Then, he ran out the car running for his life. I glanced over at the door, opened it and felt Jacob’s hand on my foot as I tried to exit.

“Help me!” I shouted. “Help me!” I screamed.

I stabbed the top of his hand with the shard of glass I held, splitting my own hand open at the same time. He yelled again, and I ran out of the car, down the street, tripping over my feet and stumbling on to the ground. I had to catch my breath, but I knew I had to get up and run. I heard the gun shots and just kept running. I ran and ran until I heard the gun shots fade. I ran into a random building, pushing the door open with blood pouring down my right hand. I sat on the floor, underneath the staircase, took off one of my socks and wrapped it around my hand as tightly as I could.

  “You okay?” A woman asked.

Startle I peeked out from the underneath the staircase.

  “Please, help me.” I cried.

  “What happened?” she asked.

“If you don’t help me, he’ll kill me. Please help me.” I begged.

The woman reached out for me and I grabbed her hand. She opened the door to her apartment and we walked in.

  “I’ll call the police.”

“Don’t, he’s an FBI agent. He’s going to kill my family.”

“You need to contact the authorities, so he won’t kill them. You have to call the police.”

  “You don’t understand. I can’t.”

“Then how can I help you?”

“Please just let me stay here until tomorrow. I’ll stay in the bathroom. I have to hide. I have to hide.” I said hysterically.

The woman grabbed me by the arms, noticing that I was losing it.

“Listen to me. Am I in danger?” She said sternly. “Am I?”

I glanced up at her as I cried.

  “I…I don’t know.” I wept frantically.

“Go into the bathroom and get cleaned up. I’ll fix your hand when you come out.” She ran to the bed room and came out with a towel, a t-shirt, spandex and a pair of underwear. “This is all I have. Spandex fits anyone.”

I grabbed everything and stared at her.

“You’re going to be okay, sweetie. Go, I’ll make you something to eat.”

I went into the bathroom and turned on the shower water. I turned around and locked the door. I was in a stranger’s home. Bloody, beaten and scared to death. I had to change my clothes. They were filled with blood. I got in the shower and let the hot water hit my body. I was hurting so badly, I cried again. I heard a knock on the door and dropped the soap.

  “Are you okay?”

  “yeah.” I shouted.

“I have warm soup and sandwich. Come on out before it gets cold.”

I got of the shower quickly and got dressed. The clothes were a little big. I didn’t wear the underwear. That was just weird. I dried my hair with the towel then patted my bruised face with caution. I looked in the mirror and shook my head. I opened the door and walked into the kitchen.

  “Thanks.” I whispered.

I sat at the table and placed the spoon into the soup when a man appeared from the living room. I placed the spoon down near the bowl and glanced up.

  “This is Detective Cliff Macintyre.”

I glanced over at the woman. I didn’t even know her name. Then I glanced back at him and nodded.

  “What’s your name?”

  “Alyssa.”

“Alyssa, I’m cliff. I’m a detective here in NYC and I happen to be Trudie’s brother. Can you tell me what happened?”

“Thank you, Trudie.” I whispered. “I’m afraid.”

“I’m here to help you.” He reassured me.

“He’s going to kill my family.”

  “Who is?”

  “Special Agent Jacob Lewis.”

  “FBI?” he asked surprised.

“Please, he’s going to kill them. Special Agent Jackson Turner is with my family. He’s trying to protect them. But, he won’t be able to keep the devil away from them. Please, please, track Jacob down.” I said grabbing onto is arm. “Kill him.” I whispered.

He stared into my eyes and he knew that everything I just told him was the truth.

  “Give me a minute.”

He turned and walked into the living room. I saw him pull out his cell phone from his suit pocket. I glanced over at Trudie, then saw him walk out of the apartment.

“My brother is going to help you.” Trudie said.

He walked back into the apartment and into the kitchen.

“Stay here with Trudie. I’ll be back tomorrow.”

“We don’t have tomorrow, Mr. Macintyre.” I whispered.

I sat at the table staring at my soup. Tomorrow would be too late. Tomorrow, they will all be dead.

  Chapter 26

  Jackson

  Jacob returned beaten and bruised.

“What the fuck happened to you?” I asked.

“I got into a fucking car accident. I had to take a private jet out here to get you.” He said trembling. “Do you guys have everything you need?”

I nodded my head. We gathered our things and met Jacob in the car. His driver began to drive as we all sat silently staring at one another. I knew this trip was going to end in tragedy one way or the other. I just didn’t know how or when. Madison tried to keep her composure then turned her attention to Jacob.

  “Where’s Alyssa?”

  He glanced up at her.

“We’re still looking for her Madison, everything is going to be okay.”

“I don’t understand. You’re FBI agents with access to everything and you can’t find a nineteen-year-old girl?”

“Isn’t it better to make sure we don’t screw things up and get her killed. Jordania is dangerous.” He stated.

“Jordania?” she shook her head. “You’re more dangerous than she is.” She sneered.
