Leah bobbed her head, then stared right into Adonia's eyes, a serious look on her face. "What does matakia mou mean?"

Adonia's smile was soft. "It means 'my little eyes.' My mother used to call me that." Tears welled on her eyelids, but she didn't swipe at them as she normally would have. They rolled down her cheeks in hot trails that lightened her heart with every streak.

Leah smiled and rubbed a knuckle over Adonia's cheek. "You're so sweet." When she bit her lip, Adonia looked at the floor.

"I think Betheny has us all on some party drug."

"Mmm." Leah dropped to the plush comforter.

"All our inhibitions are lowered," Adonia continued, her voice faltering, trying not to look at Leah's dark lips as they curled into a seductive smile.

Leah pulled Adonia down onto the bed and tucked a stray lock of hair behind Adonia's ear. As her fingertips met Adonia's skin, a ripple of pleasure rocketed through Adonia's body. She closed her eyes and sucked in a breath. Before she could open them again, Leah's lips were on hers. She raised her hands to push her away by the shoulders, but ended up pulling her closer, crushing their bodies together. Leah wrapped arms and legs around her, and before either knew it, they were lying on the bed.

As they kissed, Leah's hands worked deftly, unbuttoning Adonia's shirt and pushing it off her shoulders, leaving her in only a thin cotton undershirt. She jerked it from the waist of Adonia's pants and pulled it roughly over her head. Before it hit the floor, she had already rolled the thick sports bra up Adonia's chest and was pulling it over her head when Adonia flipped her over onto her back.

"I've wanted this for so long," she said with a groan, and trailed soft kisses from Leah's mouth down her neck to the exposed part of her chest. She pulled Leah's shirt off, then lifted her with one hand and unfastened her bra with the other. Before Leah's back touched the comforter again, Adonia's mouth was on her nipple.

Leah let out a groan, and Adonia moved to the other nipple, sucking and nibbling as her hand moved to the three buttons on Leah's slacks. She fought them for a moment before she let go and surveyed the buttons. She unfastened them, pulled the slacks off and tossed them to the floor. Leah lifted her hips as Adonia pulled off her underwear and crouched down between her thighs. When Adonia's mouth touched her, Leah's hips bucked and she cried out. Leah's hands tangled in her hair.

"Oh my god, yes, please," Leah moaned as Adonia's tongue flicked over a nerve, sending violent shivers through her whole body. "I need you inside me."

Adonia's lips locked on as her tongue lapped back and forth over the sensitive button and one hand snaked up between Leah's thighs. One finger slid inside so smoothly that Adonia pulled it back out and inserted another with it. Leah bucked and yelled her name, and Adonia pumped in and out of her until she felt the telltale convulsions of hot, slick suction against her fingers.

"You're so amazing," Leah said, her breath coming in gasps.

Adonia lie down next to her. "You taste so good."

Leah bit her lip, took a deep breath, and crawled over on top of Adonia. "Now it's my turn."

Leah ran her hands down Adonia's shoulders to her breasts, then down her stomach until she reached the buckle of her belt. She slid out the clasp, pulled the leather strap free, and was working on her pants button when Adonia pushed her hand away.

"Let me," she said, and slid the button out of its hole. The zipper she moved down one notch at a time; with every click, Adonia's pelvis thrummed. When the zipper was finally down, she moved Leah, pulled off her pants and underwear, and helped Leah back on top of her.

"What do you like?" Leah asked, running the tip of her tongue along her lips, and her finger down between Adonia's breasts to her belly button. "Do you like it rough or easy? Fast or slow?"

"I don't care," Adonia said breathlessly. "Just as long as you do it now."

Grinning, Leah slipped down between Adonia's thighs. Adonia could feel the breath on her trimmed hair before lips met skin. Leah's fingertips danced across the crevice, and Adonia's hips lifted to meet them, begging to be touched. But Leah pulled her hand far enough away, and Adonia fell back to the bed.

  "I want you so much."

Leah placed a kiss on one fleshy hip, then trailed her tongue along the skin of her belly before dropping another kiss on the other hip.

  "You want me?"

  "I need you," Adonia groaned.

Leah kissed down from Adonia's hip. Her tongue darted out, and Adonia moaned. Leah grabbed one thigh with each arm and wrapped them around the sides of her head. Adonia cried out as Leah's tongue left a trail of fiery pleasure in its wake. As she licked across and around, Adonia whimpered more, trying not to buck, begging herself to hold out, to enjoy every second of that soft, hot tongue on her most sensitive spot. But as Leah's fervor increased, so did her speed, and in no time Adonia was crying out Leah's name to the hot, still air.

When Adonia had settled, Leah pulled herself up and laid her head on her shoulder. Adonia wrapped a protective arm around her, then pulled the blanket up to cover them as their breathing slowed down to normal. She kissed Leah's damp forehead, and Leah looked up into her eyes.

"I don't care if we're on drugs," she said. "I've really wanted that, too."

Some of Adonia's high crashed, remembering the drug, and anger flared fresh in her chest. "I can't believe that bitch drugged us."

  "Why wouldn't she? She's crazy."

"And what's worse, she drugged everyone." Leah turned round eyes up to her. "Yeah. They're all out on the terrace having a sex party."

  Leah laughed despite herself.

"I'm surprised they haven't come up here to recruit us."

"I really am, too. I thought she was obsessed with me," Leah said. Adonia thought she could detect a hint of jealousy in her voice.

"Aren't you glad she's going to leave you alone?"

Leah nodded. "Oh, of course. There's nothing I want more."

A crash came from the kitchen, glass shattering and at least two women swearing at the tops of their voices, so Adonia pushed back the covers and made to stand. Leah wrapped one arm around her neck gently and pressed herself against Adonia's naked back. "Don't go."

Adonia sighed out loud. "I don't want to, but those idiots are going to get themselves killed if someone doesn't go play referee."

Leah flounced back with her lips in a pout. Adonia smiled at her.

"Don't worry, I'll be back as soon as I can." She pulled on her pants, bra and undershirt, then leaned down and kissed Leah. As an afterthought, she slipped her feet into shoes. "Or you could get dressed and come out there with me."

Leah laughed. "No way. With my luck, I'd get in the middle of it and end up in the hospital. Or worse… I might end up somewhere near Betheny." She shuddered and pulled the blanket up to her neck as Adonia walked away. "Adonia," Leah said, and Adonia turned back to look at her. "Be careful, huh?"

Adonia nodded and walked out of the room. She strode to the kitchen with confidence and walked in just in time to pull Daiyu off of one of the Betheny clones.

"You think you're so special!" Daiyu's face was flushed with exertion and bleeding where the clone scratched her temple. "You're nothing!"

The girl scrambled to her feet and spat at Daiyu's feet. "At least I'm not some groupie scag who falls in love every time someone wants a piece."

Daiyu renewed her struggle to get to the girl, but Adonia held her back. Betheny stood to the side with several more from their group looking almost apologetic. After a moment, Daiyu stopped struggling, and Adonia loosened her grip enough that Daiyu's feet touched the floor again.

"Everyone knows you wish you could be as pretty as Betheny."

The girl snarled and moved forward, but Adonia's outstretched palm kept the two apart. As they fought, she turned her attention to Betheny. "A little help?"

Betheny held up her hands, deferring responsibility. Adonia rolled her eyes, grabbed both women by the backs of their rob
es and separated them. "Stop fighting and listen!" Her voice boomed over the kitchen and everyone went quiet. Daiyu fell limp in her hand, and the clone stopped moving but kept her eyes on the angry groupie. "You're acting like children."

Both men walked in from outside. Adonia glanced their way then turned her eyes away quickly from their open nudity. Four more women followed them in from outside to the refrigerator, where they grabbed two zucchini and a bag of grapes from the freezer. Adonia grimaced at the image that popped into her head, then turned her eyes back to Betheny as they left the room again. "You can fix this right now if you just tell everyone the truth."

"The truth?" Betheny asked, squirming as all eyes turned to her.

"Yeah, the truth about how you set tonight up." Adonia let go of the two women she held, but stood on guard for either of them to launch into a fresh attack. "Tell them about the drugs, Betheny."

  "I don't know what you're talking about."

Adonia crossed her hands over her chest and stepped back toward the counter to grab one of the empty wine bottles. "You mean you didn't dose all our drinks with liquid ecstasy so this party would turn into a free-for-all?"

Several heads turned to Betheny with varying degrees of horror and surprise on their faces. Betheny took a step back, trying not to meet the eyes of anyone around them, looking for the exit. When she realized it was blocked by several angry party-goers, she wrapped her arms across her chest and stuck out her chin. "So what if I did? I didn't hear anyone complaining."

"You bitch," whispered Kayla. She balled her hands into fists, considered Betheny for a moment, then marched over and punched her in the nose.

Betheny's nose exploded in a spray of blood and she shrieked a string of profanity through the hand she clenched over it. She was doubled over, bleeding onto the floor, but no one walked over to help. She turned to look at Adonia. "You fucking bitch," she said, her words muffled by blood and hand. "I'll have your job."

Adonia knew it was coming. She knew before she even agreed to the three-day masturbatory festival of horrors. Today she no longer had a job. "That's fine," she said, her voice cold and expressionless. "I'll see you in court."

Betheny stood upright again, taking her hand away from her face so the blood ran free into her mouth and down her chin. "I have a better lawyer than you."

Adonia glanced around and picked out the few faces filled with the most hurt and rage. "And I have a better case."

She turned and walked out of the kitchen and into the bedroom where Leah was getting dressed. Leah covered when she heard footsteps, then relaxed when she saw it was Adonia.

"What happened?" she asked with a half-smile that faltered when she saw the look on Adonia's face. "Oh, no, what is it?" she asked, and pulled her shirt over her head. She walked over and tugged at Adonia's shirt, showing her the blood stain near her left armpit.

"I got myself fired," Adonia said with a wry smile. "So I'm out of here." She walked into the bathroom, gathered her few supplies and dirty clothes, and then stuffed it all in her still mostly packed bag. She slipped her button down shirt back on and fastened it up, then grabbed her bag, tossed it over her shoulder, and looked into Leah's eyes. "You?

Leah took a deep breath, turned and opened her bag on the bed. She walked to the closet and started grabbing armfuls of clothes, not bothering to pull them off hangers or fold them more than haphazardly. After a visit to the bathroom for toiletries and soiled clothes, the two sat on her bag until it zipped, and Adonia grabbed it for her.

  "Where do we go?"

Adonia smiled and pushed on her sunglasses. "Hospital for blood tests. Then… home."

One tedious emergency room visit, four bathroom breaks, and two drive-thru stops later, Adonia opened the cab door for Leah to step out onto the sidewalk in front of her house. Leah gawked up at the tall Victorian-style house through her sunglasses with a mixture of fear and amusement on her face. Adonia grabbed their bags from the trunk of the cab, paid the driver, and joined Leah back on the sidewalk to stare up at the place.

  "This is where you live?"

Adonia smiled. "This is home. Always has been. My grandmother left it to me," she said, and nudged Leah with the hand carrying the lightest load. "Let's go inside." When they reached the stoop, Adonia bumped her hip against Leah's. "Grab my keys and let us in, please?"

Leah fished in her pocket, pulled out the keys, and tried a few before she found the right one. The door opened with a loud creak that made Leah jump and sent Adonia into a fit of giggles. Adonia swept past her and deposited all their bags unceremoniously on the floor in front of the creaky staircase. When Leah was inside with the door closed, Adonia spread her arms in a gesture of welcome. "My humble abode."

Adonia watched as Leah's eyes slithered up the length of the staircase and took in the view of hanging plants all around and above the decorative banisters. "This place is incredible," she said. Her voice was loud and echoed in the dense quiet of the house. She lowered her voice. "I can't believe you grew up here."

"Yeah, and thanks," Adonia said as she walked past her to the living room. "Come on, I'll make us both a drink." She walked behind a little bar reminiscent of a swinging '60s party. Leah smirked, and Adonia threw her a wink. "Have a seat."

Leah complied, settling down on a couch covered expertly in plastic. She shivered at the distinctive squeal of plastic on skin as she squirmed to find a comfortable position.

Adonia brought over two drinks, handed one to Leah, and placed two coasters from a little container of them on the carved wood of the coffee table. She took a drink from her own glass, then put it down on the coaster and settled back comfortably on the stiff plastic.

"I didn't know they even covered things like this anymore," Leah said.

"They don't much. My grandmother had it done years ago, and she was such a stickler in the way she kept things that I haven't had to search out someone to replace it." She chuckled under her breath. "That's why most everything here is original down to the carpeting and hardwood.

Leah took a drink from her glass and gazed at the old fashioned decorations around her with an expression Adonia couldn't read.

"Tell me about where you live," Adonia said.

"Where I used to live, right?" Leah grinned, put the glass on the coffee table, and then crawled over the cushions and into Adonia's lap. "I live with you, remember?"

Adonia wrapped a hand around the back of Leah's neck under her hair and pulled her face in closer. She closed her eyes as their lips barely touched. She pulled away far enough to speak. "I remember."

Leah's tongue parted her lips, and for a few minutes, all they knew was the taste of each other. When Leah pulled away, Adonia moved after her, lips searching out lips, not finished with the kiss. Leah put a finger over Adonia's mouth.

  "We need to talk."

Adonia sighed and let go of Leah, then Leah crawled back off of Adonia's lap, and they both picked up their drinks for a long gulp. Adonia had two, then put her glass back down with a thud.

"I didn't need that job," Adonia said. She knew what this conversation was going to be about, and she hoped it would end on a positive note. She hoped Leah wasn't too proud for help.

Leah nodded. "I know that. But I did need it."

"Don't worry." Adonia put a hand on her bare knee. "I can take care of you until you find a new one."

Leah's frown creased a deep wrinkle between her eyebrows. "No one pays my way."

Adonia held up her palms in a gesture of defeat, but she tried to keep her face impassive, though her heart had started to thud in her chest with something like panic. "Then what are we going to do?"

Leah shook her head. "I don't know, but we need to talk to Dame O'Brien." She sighed. "I mean, I know Betheny fired us, but maybe she'll listen to reason."

Adonia doubted it. "Sure, you can talk to her," she said. "But I'm going to start on the case against Betheny. I think we all have her by the
balls, and her attorneys would advise her to settle out of court as quickly as possible. I don't think it would take a month for it to all be done."

"Anything you need from me, let me know," Leah answered.

The two sat in silence for a few moments, then Leah picked up her glass and downed most of it all at once. Adonia looked on in shock and admiration. "What's up?" she asked.

Leah put the glass back down, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. She held it for a moment, then let it out through pursed lips, and opened her eyes again. "I have to eventually go get the rest of my things."

"Sure, of course," Adonia started, but Leah held up a hand.

  "This means seeing my family."

  Adonia nodded.

"I've tried to come out to them for years, but they wouldn't hear of it." Leah chewed a hangnail, eyes trained on the carpet, apparently lost in her own mind. When she spoke again, it was almost as if it were to herself. "I guess they can't say it's in my imagination if I bring a woman with me."

Adonia wrapped her arm around Leah's shoulders and pulled her closer. Leah nuzzled her face into Adonia's shoulder and let out a shuddering sigh.

"They won't be friendly," Leah warned.

Adonia squeezed her tighter and dropped a kiss onto her forehead. "I can deal with unfriendly. You should know that about me already."

"They especially won't like that you're white."

"I'm not that white." Adonia grinned. "Won't it help that my family are immigrants?"

Leah wrapped her arms around Adonia's torso. "How long has your family been here?"

  "Only about sixty years."

Leah tilted her head, considering it, then looked up at Adonia with a small smile. "It's a foot in the door, I guess."

Adonia kissed her lips. "Don't worry, matakia mou. They're going to love me once they find out how much I adore their daughter, and how well I can cook."
