I pulled her into my chest, “I should hate you…and I should probably move on—but I can’t.” I whispered. My heart was hammering in my chest. Tabitha sniffled a couple of times and squeezed me tightly around the waist. “How do I forget about this? How do I trust you again?” I asked her.
She pulled away from my chest and looked up at me, tears pooled in her eyes, “I…I don’t know. If you need more time to think about everything…”
I shook my head, “The more time I have to think about it…the more I picture IT actually happening, and it almost makes me sick.” I said. Tabitha started to cry silently, “I hate not being around you, you’re everywhere. I can still smell you in my pickup, in my bed…I can’t not be with you.” I told her. “We’ll get past this.” I cupped her face in my hands and tilted her head so I could look into those captivating eyes. “Just promise me it’s not going to happen again.”
She stood on her tiptoes and kissed my cheek, “It won’t happen again…I promise.”
Our lips touched and we both inhaled a deep shaky breath, we didn’t go any further with the kiss because the very second I closed my eyes I pictured Vance and Tabitha kissing. Tabitha pulled away and leaned her forehead against my chest, “I felt you tense up, maybe you do need more time.” She said.
With my chin resting on top of her head I closed my eyes and took a calming deep breath, “I don’t need more time, I just need to stop picturing you and him together. I’m sorry.” I hugged her tighter, “It’s going to take time but we’ll get through this…together.” I told her.
She stepped away from me and looked up at me, “Maybe I don’t deserve a second chance, Morgan. You’re getting ready to go away to college, what if…” I shook my head and cut her off by putting my hand over her mouth.
“I want to give you a second chance, there is no other girl that can even compete with the way you make me feel. We aren’t the first ones to go through this and we won’t be the last. Okay?”
She smiled behind my hand and nodded her head, I moved my hand away and slid it down her arm until I was clasping her hand in mine. “I need to get home, I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”
Tabitha smiled, “Okay.”
There was a moment of awkward silence between before I turned and got in my pickup. “And Tabitha?” I said with a grin.
“Yes?” She replied.
“I’m glad you didn’t leave to go stay with your dad.” I told her.
Tabitha nodded her head and stepped away from my pickup. She stood on the sidewalk and watched as I drove away.
Chapter 15
Had it not been for our coach I don’t think Morgan and I would have ever talked about what happened.
Our friendship would never be the same but at least we were talking again.
Things between Tabitha and me were strained and awkward. It was obvious that we were doing whatever we had to, to avoid each other most of the time. At school it was the “big” gossip going around. Ally was like a buzzing horsefly that wouldn’t shut up and hearing her say some of the shit she was about Tabitha started to piss me off.
“She’s a slut…I mean, she knew he was in a steady relationship.” Ally said to a group of girls that were standing by her at the lockers.
I stopped and turned around; Ally stared at me with wide eyes as I approached her. With one hand pressed against the locker and one holding onto my books I leaned in close to her. She glanced around nervously before looking at me, her breathing grew faster when I put my lips next to her ear. “Vance…” she said and placed a hand on my hip.
“Do you have a date for prom?” I asked her.
“N...no.” She breathed out.
“That’s because you’re the slut…not Tabitha. She’s a lot of things but a slut isn’t one of them. If I ever fuckin’ her you say that about her again, you’re gonna hate me forever.”
Ally sucked in a breath and pushed me away, “You’re an asshole! I thought you were going to ask me to prom!”
I laughed, “No such luck,” I shook my head, “and stay the fuck away from Morgan.”
Ally rolled her eyes, “There’s something really wrong with you, Vance. First you fuck your step sister and break Julia’s heart and now you’re telling me to stay away from Morgan?” She took a step toward me, “I’m not stupid, I know you’ll end up fucking her again.”
My jaw muscles ached from being so tense, “Jealously looks like shit on you, Ally.” I winked at her then walked away.
Once I was at my locker, Vi walked up and leaned against her locker. “What was that about?” She nodded toward Ally’s direction.
“She is tellin’ everybody that Tabitha is a slut.” I shut my locker, “I was just warnin’ her to stop.” I told Vi.
Vi rolled her eyes, “She’s just pissed that Morgan and Tabitha are back together. She had her hopes up that he’d take her to prom.” Vi laughed. “Not happening even if he was single!”
Julia walked by and gave a small smile, we were finally back on speaking terms but that was about it. We talked about going to prom together, but Julia said that it would just feel too weird. I found out a few days later that she had asked a guy from the same school Drake goes to. Vi nudged me with her shoulder, “I’m glad you two are talking now.”
I nodded my head, “Yeah, I just hope she doesn’t hate me forever.” I said.
She shrugged a shoulder, “I’m sure in time she’ll forgive you.”

Over the next few weeks’ things seemed to simmer down at school and at home. Prom came and went, I went stag and drank too much beer but I did enjoy spending time with everybody.
Morgan and Tabitha spent a lot more time together, not talking to her was starting to get on my nerves though.
So, one evening on my way home from Track practice I decided I was going to talk to her. When I got home the only vehicle in the driveway was Tabitha’s Hummer. I knew that Vi would be home shortly so I hurried inside to find Tabitha. She was in her room sitting on her bed, textbooks opened and strewn around her. I stood in the doorway and stared at her as she read something on a piece of paper then flipped through the pages in a book while tapping her pencil against her soft pink lips.
“Hey.” I said.
She jumped, “Oh my God you scared me, Vance!” Tabitha put a hand against her chest.
“Sorry!” I lifted my hands and gripped the top of the doorframe. She licked her lips and slowly dragged her eyes up my body. “Do you mind if I come in so we can talk?” I asked.
Tabitha snapped her eyes up and finally looked at me, “About?” she drew out.
I shrugged my shoulders, “I’m just tired of us dancin’ around each other. Me bein’ a dick to you and you bein’ a bitch toward me.”
Her eyes got big, “Did…did you just call me a bitch?” she asked.
“Listen, I understand that it’s been like this so you could get back with Morgan and all. But I think we both know that there are feelings between us that aren’t gonna go away. Right?” I said to her.
She shook her head and rolled her eyes, “I’m not having this conversation with you. Morgan and I are getting along really good…”
I interrupted her, “No, this doesn’t have shit to do with Morgan!” I walked into her room but left the bedroom door open. “This has to do with what happened between us. I heard what you said to Vi, and, I know that it’s killin’ you that we don’t get along or even try to get along anymore. So, Tabitha, we need to talk.” I told her.
“I don’t know what you want me to say, Vance. We had one time together, that’s all we can ever have. We hurt a lot of people when we did what we did. I enjoyed it,” she shrugged her shoulders, “but it was a mistake.” Tabitha said.
I chuckled and shook my head, “We both knew it would happen and we both enjoyed it. You got Morgan back so now we, as in me and you, need to start getting’ along.”
“I know, I just don’t want to hurt him again.” She said.
“Did he
tell you that we can’t be sociable with each other?” I asked.
Tabitha shook her head, no, “I’m just afraid he’ll get mad.”
“I’ll talk to him.” I stated.
The room fell silent for a little while, “I’m sorry that Julia and you didn’t get back together.” Tabitha said.
I shrugged my shoulders, “It is what it is.”
Tabitha looked at me and started to say something but was interrupted by Vi coming into the room. She gave us both a questioning look, “Did I, interrupt something?” Vi asked us.
“Nope, I just thought me and her needed to chat.” I told her.
“Oh…okay. I’ll leave so you two can talk.” Vi started to walk out.
“Nah, we’re good. I need to go get chores done. I’ll see you guys at the supper table.”
Chapter 16
Vance did end up talking to Morgan about us, I could tell that Morgan still held anger inside of him against Vance but he did agree that we needed to get along.
As the weeks turned into months and the school year came to an end I dreaded it. Morgan would be working long hours again and then be leaving for college. The stress of me cheating on him had subsided and the more time we spent together made me fall even more in love with him. It took him some time for our relationship to get back to normal but when it did we couldn’t keep our hands to ourselves. Any time we had alone together we spent talking, kissing (we kissed a lot!), and having sex. Rachel had begged me to come stay a few weeks with her over our summer break, but I didn’t want to leave Morgan. “But…you said you would! I thought you were supposed to be coming home every other weekend anyways. Next summer we’ll be rushing around to go away to college.” She whined into the phone.
“I know…I just. I don’t want to miss spending time with Morgan.” I told her.
“Ahh! Men!” She exclaimed. “You’re choosing a guy over your BFF!”
That made me feel like a horrible person, “I’ll talk to mom, maybe we can fly you out here for a couple of weeks.”
“Ohhh, that would be awesome! You talk to your mom and let me know what she says. Then I’ll talk to my mom.” Rachel said and I could tell she was smiling.
“Okay, I’ll go talk to her and let you know what she says. Love you.”
“Love you too!”
We hung up and I jumped off my bed and went downstairs. Mom wasn’t inside so I walked out onto the large wrap around porch. She was talking on her cell phone and held up her hand telling me to wait. “Okay, love you too.” Mom hung up the phone and blew out a frustrated breath. I gave her a wide-eyed questioning look as I waited for her to say something.
“Your dad said you need to come stay the summer with him.” She said and blew out a breath.
“What? No!” I argued.
“Tabitha, he said that since you will be busy next summer getting ready for college and he didn’t pressure you to come home on the weekends during the school year, that he wants you to come stay with him this summer. I can’t change his mind. I just hung up with Kevin, he said that you have to go since your dad didn’t push to make you go back like the court papers have stated in them.”
“But…I was going to ask if Rachel can come stay here for a couple of weeks. I…Morgan will be leaving for college and I won’t get to see him.” I continued to argue.
“I’m sorry, but until you’re eighteen we have to follow the court orders.” Mom said with a defeated tone.
I plopped down on a chair, “Can I call and talk to dad? Maybe he’ll change his mind?” I asked.
She shrugged her shoulders, “You can try, I guess.”
I quickly dialed dad’s number, “Hello?”
“Hey dad!”
“Hey there Tabitha. Did your mom tell you to get packed so you can stay with us this summer?”
“Yeah, that’s why I’m calling. I was actually hoping that I could just stay here?”
Dad laughed, “Nope, sorry.”
“But dad…my boyfriend is going to be leaving for college and…”
He interrupted me, “You’re coming to stay here this summer, no if, ands, or but’s about it. I’ve already purchased your ticket. I’ll see you in a week. Oh and bring some cute clothes, we are going to do family pictures while you’re here.” He stated firmly.
I didn’t try to argue, instead I hung up the phone. “I hate him.” I muttered.
Mom walked over to me and hugged me, “I’m so sorry.”
I took a few calming breaths before I pulled out of her arms. “I’m going to go tell Morgan. I’ll be back later.” I gave her a quick hug before walking over to my vehicle and leaving.
When I got to Morgan’s farm he was walking out of the large machine shop, his blue jeans hung low on his hips, he had his shirt off and draped over one shoulder and he was staring down at his cell phone. When he heard me shut my vehicle off he looked up and did a double take then looked back down at his phone in confusion. “Hey, I just sent you a text.” He said with a laugh. Morgan cocked his head to the side, “What’s wrong?”
I blew out a breath, “I have to go stay with dad this summer.”
His eyebrows shot up and his eyes got big, “Are you fuckin’ serious? He hasn’t bothered to talk to you all year long.”
I nodded my head, “I know.”
He pulled me into a hug, “Can your mom talk him out of it?”
“No, I even tried but he isn’t budging. I leave next week.” I told him.
“All summer long?” He asked.
“Mmmhmm.” Tears filled my eyes.
Morgan pulled away and tilted my head up with his hands, using his thumbs he brushed the tears away, “I’ll come visit you if he’ll let me.”
“I…I’ll have to ask him. I don’t want to go.”
He leaned down and kissed me, “Lets go inside.”
His parents were gone so we had the huge log cabin style home to ourselves. “If I’m not going to get to see you for a few weeks, I’m going to spend as much time with you as possible. You might even get sick of me.” He said with a laugh as we walked up the stairs to his room. “Starting with a shower, then the bed, and I’m going to kiss every single inch of your body.” Morgan grinned as he walked backwards into his room.
When we were both in his room he reached behind my head and pushed the door shut and locked it. I smiled at him when he caged me in against the door, “When are your parents going to be home?” I asked as I slid my hands down his chest. The way his stomach muscles flexed against my palms and his breathing grew faster made me clench clear down to my core. I reached the button of his jeans and he stopped me.
“Later…” he moved my hands away and pulled my tank top over my head. He dipped his head and kissed me, Morgan’s kiss was intoxicating and dizzying. Our tongues twisted and rolled against each other’s with perfect rhythm, when he pulled away we were both breathing heavy. My lips felt swollen and tingled, when I looked up at Morgan he was staring down at me. “We need to shower, then you can call your mom and tell her we are going to watch movies.” He said and a grin spread across his lips. He took me by the hand and led me to the bathroom. His bathroom was always clean and smelled like his cologne. I started to reach for the clasp of my bra but he stopped me, Morgan stepped closer and slid his hands down my shoulders and arms then around to my back and released the clasps. Then he slowly pulled my bra off and dropped it to the floor. Then he knelt down and slowly tugged my shorts and panties off. I gripped his broad shoulders and stepped out of my clothes. “I swear your body is fuckin’ perfect. It’s like unwrapping a delicate gift. Your skin is as soft as silk,” he pressed a kiss against my hip and continued to kiss across to my other hip as he slid just the tips of his fingers up and down my legs. Waves of goose bumps spread over my skin. “When your pussy is wet I can smell your arousal. It’s like the sweetest nectar drawing me in and the taste…” he slid one hand between my legs and looked up at me, “Is like honey…sweet and addicting always inviting me back for more.”
Slowly he stood up and kissed a trail up my stomach until his lips were circled around one of my nipples. One hand was between my legs and the other gripping and massaging my other breast. “The way your body reacts to me and only me, the soft little moans you make, the way your pussy tightens around my cock…squeezing it—milking it of every last drop of my come.” He pulled wetness from my entrance up to my clit and circled it before pulling his hand away and stepping away from me.
I opened my eyes, Morgan was stripping out of his clothes and staring at my body. I stepped around him to the large glass encased shower and turned the water on. The water warmed up so I stepped inside and stood under the pulsating stream. Morgan stepped in and shut the door, he stood in front of me with his cock boldy standing erect…begging for my attention.
Over the next couple of hours we took time memorizing every inch of each other’s body. Morgan was perfectly chiseled from head to toe. After we were both completely wore out and relaxed in his bed, I laid with my head against his bare chest and listened to the beat of his heart. I traced his stomach muscles and smiled when they jerked under my fingers. He slid his finger through my hair, relaxing me even more. “Are you sure we are gonna be okay when I leave for college?” He asked me.
I looked up at him, his green eyes bored into mine as he waited for me to answer. “Yes, its just going to be so strange not having you here every day. I’m spoiled I guess.” I smiled at him. “I won’t get my daily kiss quota.”
He chuckled, “We’re gonna be using Facetime, I can promise you that!”

When the day came for me to leave for the airport, Morgan, Mom, Kevin, and Vidalia all went with me to the airport.
Mom, Vidalia and I all three cried when we got to the airport. Kevin hugged me and pulled mom and Vidalia back so that I could talk to Morgan. The lady came over the intercom and announced that my flight would be boarding in five minutes. Morgan had me pulled against his chest as tears fell down my face. “Shh, if your dad says it’s okay for me to come see you. I’ll be on the first flight out.” He whispered.
