The Truth Healer: A Riveting Spiritual Psychic Thriller Page 4

Tatiana eyes glowed with a sense of knowing.

‘That is such a wonderful story Chloe….so you think that was Harry?’

‘Yes I do in a way, as I had searched everywhere for that bracelet……and….’

  Tatiana tilted her head ‘…and?’

‘Well, although I hadn’t spoken to Harry for a while when it happened, after my mum put a stop to it, I remember he always had a distinctive smell when he came to my room…..like a shaving foam smell or something. On the day I found my bracelet, that same smell was lingering around my dressing table.’

  Tatiana paused momentarily. ‘….Chloe.’

  ‘…Yes.’ Chloe replied cautiously.

‘You know who Harry is don’t you?’

  Chloe looked confused, ‘No, who?’

‘Harry is your Guardian Angel. We all have one. Some of us are unaware of them as we are shut off from the fact that they could possibly exist, and they often will only come forward if we ask for their help.’

A magical warmth suddenly enveloped Chloe, as the realisation of what she had always suspected was confirmed. ‘Really?….I suppose I have always wondered, and deep down I thought he could be. I haven’t heard or seen him for years though, so I am not sure if he is still there for me.’

‘He will be.’ Tatiana reassured her. ‘He will have been waiting for you to call for his help.’

Chloe smiled. ‘That is so heartwarming to know…..would you be able to help me make contact with him again?’

‘Yes of course….but firstly, can you tell me more about these dreams you have been having…have you had anymore since I saw you on Saturday?’ Tatiana asked, getting up to retrieve a crystal.

‘Yes, I have actually…it is always the same. I see two little girls playing happily, before I then see one looking very fearful. It developed even further last night though, and I could see one little girl looking forlorn holding a flower. It is becoming frustrating, as I do not know what they are connected to.’

Chloe watched as Tatiana walked back over with a crystal and placed it down on the table in front of her. She recognised it as a herkimer diamond….one of the best crystals for psychic communication.

‘Now Chloe, I want to see if, with some focus, you are able to get a clearer picture of what these dreams are about. It may take a few sessions, but with the help of Harry you may get there.’ Tatiana instructed, dimming the lights.

  Chloe nodded ‘Ok, I’ll try.’

Chloe sat holding onto the crystal, whilst Tatiana talked them through a meditation exercise. With her eyes closed, she focused on her breathing, and encouraged Harry to come forward to help her with her dreams. She couldn’t hear anything at first, instead only seeing a multitude of colours flash in front of her. She could feel the heat from the crystal intensifying, and after fifteen minutes, a faint male voice started to come through. ‘You know…you know.’

‘Know what?’ Chloe whispered, as Tatiana looked on.

‘The story’ the faint male voice replied.

‘What story?’ Chloe asked desperately, but then the voice just disappeared again.

‘Oh no, don’t go.’ she pleaded, but it was too late, they had gone.

Tatiana put her hand on Chloe’s arm. ‘It’s ok, he will be back. It may not make sense now, but it will eventually.’

‘Do you think so?…..I pray it does.’

‘It will do….you have to be patient. Now, I think that is enough for today.’

‘Oh ok…yes you are probably right.’ Chloe agreed.

‘Why don’t I show you my Reiki rooms on the way out and then you can come by this Saturday and do a couple of my bookings?’

‘That would be great….thank you Tatiana. It would really help me.’

Tatiana showed Chloe around her treatment rooms, and she felt like it was the first time she was actually doing something proactive to live her dream.

‘So I’ll see you Saturday then.’ Tatiana said, reaching out to hug Chloe.

‘Yes great, I’ll look forward to it.’ Chloe replied, waving as she let herself out of the shop.

After spending the following five weeks practising Reiki in Tatiana’s shop, Chloe felt her confidence growing, and the possibility of practising it for a living was becoming more of a reality. She had also been spending time with Tatiana developing her psychic skills in the afternoons. Each time the faint male voice came through offering a few more words each time. His words developed in to ‘boat’, ‘jay’ and, what sounded like, ‘crown’. She didn’t know if it was Harry coming through as he never confirmed his name. The words didn’t really help her with understanding what her dreams meant either. Tatiana reassured her though, that she would work it out soon.

By the sixth Saturday of her Reiki practise, Tatiana was waiting for Chloe at the front of the shop when she arrived.

‘Oh hello, you aren’t usually in when I arrive first thing.’ Chloe remarked, as the door shut behind her.

‘Yes I know, I wanted to catch you before you went through to the treatment rooms. I have asked one of the other girls to take your bookings today, as I have somewhere special I would like to take you.’

‘Oh …ok where’s that then?’ Chloe asked intrigued.

‘Come through to the back and I’ll tell you.’ Tatiana replied, gesturing for Chloe to follow her.

Chloe watched as Tatiana headed towards the purple and silver organza curtains at the back of the usual room they sat in. She paused to look back at Chloe with a mischievous twinkle in her eye, before suddenly pulling them open to reveal an ornate pewter metal door.

‘Where did that come from?’ Chloe marvelled, as she had always assumed the curtains were just hiding the wall.

‘This door leads to my other place of work.’ Tatiana declared mysteriously.

‘What do you mean, your other place of work?’

‘Well I have run my Reiki and psychic workshop business for years, but in the last two years, I have joined a larger organisation.’

Chloe was starting to wonder whether to be excited or worried as to what lay behind this ornate looking door.

  ‘O….k….so what is this organisation?’

‘Let me take you for a look around first, and then I will tell you.’ Tatiana said, opening the door.

Chloe gazed through it and could see a spiral metal staircase adorned with tea lights on each step.

‘Follow me and mind your step going down as it is quite narrow.’ Tatiana instructed.

Chloe tentatively followed her, and as they approached the bottom of the staircase, Chloe could see some double doors ahead. They were embossed with what looked like a pendulum with a halo above it. Tatiana reached forward and pulled both handles together. ‘Ready?’

As she flung open the doors, Chloe let out a gasp, as she took in the breathtaking view.

  ‘Impressive isn’t it?’ Tatiana beamed.

Chloe walked slowly into the room, gazing up at the crystallised walls. They were glistening the colours of the rainbow, as the light refracted off the mini lanterns that were scattered around the cave in tiny portholes. She felt like she was standing in a magical cave of prisms. Even the floor was crystallised, so it gave the impression of gliding over a large glacier.

Chloe could see what looked like six meeting points in the room. Each housed an amethyst crystal table with elaborate pewter legs, and two purple velvet chairs alongside it. As she continued to look around in awe, she noticed a second level where there appeared to be a row of glass offices and some sort of filing area.

‘This place is unbelievable…it is magnificent, yet so serene at the same time. It feels like I am in a completely different world. What is this place?’ Chloe asked in amazement.

‘This is where I call Headquarters.’

  ‘Headquarters for what?’

‘Come and sit over here with me and I will explain.’ Tatiana replied, walking over to one of the amethyst tables, and pulling out the chairs.’
<
br />   Chloe couldn’t stop looking around the room. There didn’t seem to be many people around, but the ones that had passed her as she walked through, were very friendly and welcoming.’

‘You know I work as a medium, as well as running the shop?’

‘Yes.’ Chloe nodded, still trying to take it all in.

‘Well, two years ago, I attended a conference in Brazil to further my skills, as it is renowned there for the development of psychic abilities. During the conference, I was approached by the Chairman of the Psychic Committee to say they were working on a highly confidential operation that he thought I would be perfect for. He put me in touch with Truth Master Benedict, who is based here.’

Chloe could feel her heart racing as she listened.

‘The Committee were setting up an elite group called The Truth Circle, which was only going to be set up in a few countries to begin with.’

‘The Truth Circle…what is that?’ Chloe queried.

‘The Truth Circle is mastered by a select few of the world’s top psychics. These psychics have been working with the Spiritual plane for years now, and they were already reincarnated on Earth with a much higher vibrational energy than the majority of us on this plane.

After years of trying to solve crimes for the police, they were finding it extremely painful to see families going through so much distress when a particular crime had not been solved for years. They had seen many families lives left on hold until they found out the truth, and although as chief psychics they could detect certain details, the facts were not always clear.

The Psychic Committee in Brazil, therefore, came to an agreement with The Higher Power Commission on the Spiritual realm, that they would now be given specific details in cases that were causing a lot of pain to families, and inadvertently making them unable to fulfil their own journeys in life.’

Chloe sat trying to absorb everything Tatiana was relaying to her. ‘I know that the police use mediums a lot during crime investigations, but I am stunned that there is a group of elite psychics that communicate so clearly with The Higher Power. I do understand it on some level, due to my own experiences, but this is on another scale!’ she said, shaking her head at the incredulity of it. ‘So where do you come into it?’

‘I am second in command to Truth Master Benedict, and Supervisor to The Truth Healers.

Chloe slowly looking around the cave again. ‘So all of these people in this room are Truth Healers?’

‘Yes, that is correct. I know it is a lot to take on board Chloe, but after having got to know you better over the last few weeks, I felt confident that you would understand what we are trying to achieve here.’

Chloe didn’t feel that confident…in fact she felt very unsure about the whole situation, but as she tried to rationalise it in her mind, she told herself that these people were just highly attuned mediums.

‘So what cases have The Truth Circle helped with….would I know any?’ she asked.

‘Yes, you would…one major one in England was the case of murdered Sally Mason. It had been left unsolved for eight years, before The Truth Circle had been set up. The poor family had gone years without knowing who had killed her.’

‘Yes, I do know that one….they found out it was her twin sister all along. Sightings of her twin sister around the time of the murder had made it all the more confusing to solve, and the sister’s distress was so convincing.’

‘I know, it was a tragic shame, but with the help of a Truth Healer, the case was solved. It didn’t really heal the pain of the family, but it prevented a further tragedy as the sister was planning an untimely death for her parents, to get some inheritance, so they were better knowing the truth.’

Chloe suddenly startled as a text message bleeped on her phone.

‘Oh, it is from Josh…I just need to reply quickly, otherwise he will think something is up.’

‘That’s ok…I’ll get us some drinks.’ Tatiana said, walking over to the kitchen area.

Chloe was glad for the interruption. It was all a bit too much to take in. Tatiana had changed her life a lot already, but now this matriarch of a woman was involved in something even greater than she first thought.

Josh was asking what time she was going to be home. She thought about what Josh would say if he knew what she was discussing there today. With him working for The Met, it made it even more awkward. He admitted to her that their department used mediums, but he never really believed in it and thought it was a lot of nonsense.

‘Here you go, I thought you’d appreciate a cup of coffee.’ Tatiana said, returning to the desk.

‘Thank you…yes I think I need it!’ Chloe exclaimed. ‘So can I ask why you have chosen to let me in on this. I thought ‘Circles’ were supposed to be exclusive?’

‘Well, that is it……I have been working closely with you for the last six weeks, and Chloe…..I think you would be a perfect candidate for The Truth Circle.’ Tatiana said hesitantly.

Chloe spluttered as her coffee went down the wrong hole. ‘Excuse me?…but my psychic capabilities are nowhere near to the level that you need!’

‘They do not need to be to that level….it is just a bonus that you are attuned to Spirits, and the wider Universe. The Truth Master knows the whole truth about each case and will feed you the information you need.’ Tatiana advised, passing a tissue to Chloe.

‘I don’t know about this Tatiana…..how would I work on a case…and what about my job anyway?’

‘Chloe, you do not even like your job anymore, and you have been doing so well with the Reiki each week, that you could leave and come and work for me in the shop. The cases that you would be asked to work on could be fitted in around the work you do for me in the shop. Also you would get breaks in between cases, so it would not be full time.’

Chloe could feel Tatiana’s eyes pleading with her to take her up on her offer. She had been so good to her, she didn’t want to disappoint her.

‘Look, let me think about this…it is a lot to take in. I am not saying no, I just need to work out what I am going to do about my job first. Also, what do the cases I work on involve?’

‘I will let the Truth Master take you through this, if you choose to explore this further, but I know you would be perfectly capable of carrying out what is required. You are gutsy Chloe…you have coped with the loss of your mother, taking care of your father and sister, you have had a lot of responsibility in your current job and have travelled a lot alone, so I know you can do this. I promise it will be a lot more rewarding than what you are doing now.’

Chloe leant forward and held Tatiana’s hand.

‘Ok, let me think about it. I need to go and see Josh now, otherwise I will be late. I will speak to you in the week and let you know my decision.’

‘Ok sweetheart…..just as long as the answer is yes!’ Tatiana laughed persuasively.

‘I’ll think about it!’ Chloe repeated smiling, following Tatiana back through the double doors, up the spiral staircase and to the door of the shop.

As she stepped out onto the busy Covent Garden street, she narrowly missed a cyclist, where she was still slightly dazed from her conversation with Tatiana. She was looking forward to seeing Josh to bring her back to planet Earth…albeit temporarily. She had a lot of thinking to do, but not before she had drank a large glass of wine.

  Chapter 6

Chloe sat relaxing in her Sunday night bubble bath, enjoying some quiet time to herself. Josh had driven up to Leeds as he had an early morning start there. He had the distressing task of informing a family that their daughter’s body had been found. Chloe didn’t know how he coped with what he did for a living, but she supposed it was what he was trained to do.

‘Right, that’s long enough.’ she muttered to herself, gazing down at her crinkled fingers. Wrapping herself in her fluffy dressing gown, she walked back into the bedroom and sat down at her dressing table.

As she started to comb through her hair, she shivered slightly as a breeze
passed by the back of her neck. She looked to see if the window was open but it wasn’t, so she shrugged it off and pulled her gown closer up around her neck.

As she continued to comb her hair, she felt a breeze again, but this time it brushed over her hands. ‘Where is that coming from?’ she mumbled to herself, looking around the room perplexed.

Suddenly Tinker let out a screeching ‘Mii..a..ooww’ and leapt off of the bed.

‘Tinker!…what is it?!’ Chloe shrieked, nearly falling off of her stool.

Chloe turned to stroke her but she wouldn’t settle. ‘It’s ok Tink.’ she reassured her, whilst cautiously looking around the room.

‘What is going on…..aaahhhhh!….Jesus…flipping…Christ!’ Chloe screamed, diving onto the bed. Too frightened to take a second look, she sat shaking, curled up against her headboard. Tinker had run for cover and was hiding out under the bed.

Chloe wanted to look again but she didn’t know if she could handle it, especially knowing she was alone in the house. ‘Come on…it will be fine…. you can’t stay here all night.’ she willed herself.

Slowly shuffling down the bed, she put one leg over the side of the bed so she was balancing on one leg. She gradually tilted her head towards her dressing table mirror, and quickly took a glance, before throwing herself back onto the bed.

‘Ok…there is nothing there…it’s fine.’ she reassured herself, taking a deep breath. She moved again towards the mirror until she was fully in front of it, and to her relief, she could only see herself staring back. ‘Thank God for that!’ she exclaimed.
