For everyone who read Where I Need to Be and
gave me the courage to continue to write
Brandon and Spencer’s story.
CHAPTER ONE
I have always heard that when you are about to die, your life flashes before your eyes. It starts just like any other day. You wake up, go to work and go through the same motions just like you had the day before. Only the day doesn’t end the way you had planned.
Yesterday, when I was fighting for my life with Brandon's crazy ex-girlfriend, Christy, the thought of him asking me to move in with him didn't even occur to me. I only saw visions of the last three months we had spent together flash through my head–from the first time he smiled at me when I found myself on the treadmill next to him at his gym to the last time we kissed before he left for Seattle with Jason to close the deal on the new gym.
As I was prepared to do anything to keep our relationship safe, there was no way in hell I would have let Christy win in her desperate attempt to compete with me for Brandon. Deep down I found part of myself almost wishing that she hadn’t survived the fall and stab wound. However, as I am not a violent or vindictive person by nature, I could never really wish physical harm to come to her or any other person.
Who in their right mind would try to kill someone to get their ex back and what did she really think would happen if she succeeded? What if I had died and she had disposed of my body like Dexter did with his victims? Was she so demented, twisted, and disconnected from reality that she could believe Brandon would think I had left him without a word? Left Ryan? Left all of my life here behind? It just didn’t make sense and it didn't really seem as though she had thought everything through as she claimed.
Now we were left with an ugly reminder of what had occurred–it was ingrained in Brandon's hardwood floors at the bottom of his stairs… stairs that we would have to walk up every night to go to bed. We took turns scrubbing the round blood stained spot for over an hour, but no matter how hard we scrubbed, we could still see her blood. To anyone else, it would look like nothing more than a water stain, if they saw anything at all. So when Brandon told me he wanted to sell his condo, I completely understood and wholeheartedly agreed. But now he had asked the question I had least expected but so desperately wanted to scream “yes” to.
“Spencer?” Brandon spoke again, bringing me out of my thoughts.
“Yeah?” I replied as I refocused on his face.
“Did you hear me?”
“Yes.”
“Yes, you heard me or yes, you want to move in with me? Because you know that we spend every night together anyway and it will take a few months or more to sell this place and then buy a new place for us.”
“Yes, I want to move in with you.”
“You do?” Brandon's face lit up as he smiled from ear to ear.
“Yes! Of course I want to live together and find our place,” I said as I threw myself into his lap and hugged him tight as if he was going to vanish at any moment from my arms. “But we need to talk to Ryan about you moving into my house while we find our place because we definitely aren’t staying here!”
I knew Ryan wouldn't care. Since she and Max were back together and already busy planning their wedding, she was rarely home anyway. I just wanted to give her the courtesy of a heads up, letting her know that we would be staying there until we found our own place.
“Okay, well I am going to pack clothes for the rest of the weekend at least,” Brandon said, kissing my lips softly.
Was I crazy for wanting to move in with someone after only dating him for three months? I could honestly say that more shit had happened in the span of those three months than would normally occur in anyone’s lifetime. I’m not only talking about the whole “trying not to die from a crazy person with a knife” thing, but Brandon and I had formed such a strong bond in a short amount of time. I was ready to spend the rest of my life with him and what better way than to live with him to find out how truly tight our bond is.
“I guess this means I don't get to go shopping this weekend, huh?” I pouted while I folded a shirt and put it in my duffel bag.
“Why is that?”
“Well, now we are going to be sharing one closet and it is much smaller than your gigantic walk-in,” I said as I waved in the direction of his closet.
“True. The bright side is all your clothes will be in one place now.”
“That’s not the only bright side!” I said as I playfully smacked his ass.
“I’m glad you’re in a better mood, Babe,” he said as he lightly kissed my lips on his way to his dresser.
“I still can’t believe Christy tried to kill me.”
“I know...I have no idea what I would have done if she had killed you. I would probably be in a jail cell awaiting my own murder trial.”
I wrapped my arms around Brandon and hugged him tight as tears began to well in my eyes. One minute I was fine with what had happened only a few hours earlier and the next I was an emotional wreck. Hearing Brandon tell me that he would have killed for me tugged at my heart and I knew there was nowhere else I would rather be for the rest of my life.
“Come on, let’s go talk to Ryan and then try to have a better day. Let’s try to forget all this bullshit for a while,” Brandon said, wiping the tears from my eyes. Turning he grab our bags with one hand, he took my hand with the other.
*~*~*
“Hey guys,” I said as Brandon and I walked into my house. Ryan and Max were lounging on the couch watching TV. Brandon took our bags to my room while I joined Ryan and Max in the living room.
“Hey, Spence, how are you holding up today?” Ryan asked, looking away from the screen.
“Good. We went to see Christy this morning.”
“Holy shit, you did?” Ryan said as she sat up from where she had been leaning against Max’s side.
“Yep. That bitch is a piece of work!”
“What happened?” Max asked, finally chiming in just as Brandon came back into the living room.
We told them what had happened earlier that morning at the hospital when we confronted Christy. Ryan was just as shocked about the faked ultrasound as I had been. Who in their right mind would fabricate an ultrasound? Max, being the attorney that he is, informed me that the next step in the process would be the District Attorney would contact me to get more information regardi
ng the incident. I just wanted all of this to be over and I never wanted to see Christy again.
“So, Ry... if it’s okay with you, Brandon is going to move in here until he can sell his condo.”
“Of course, Spence; he’s welcome to stay as long as he needs. I can’t imagine that you’d want to stay at his place after what happened there.”
“Yeah... we scrubbed the floor for over an hour, but we couldn’t get all of her blood out of the hardwood floor.”
“I’m so sorry. That sucks.”
“Are you sure it’s really okay with you, Ryan? I don’t want to intrude,” Brandon said.
“Yes, of course. Actually... Max and I have been talking and I think I am going to move in with him before the wedding. I stay there most of the time anyway,” she said as she sat up more on the couch.
“Wow, that’s great! When do you plan on moving?” I asked.
“I think officially after New Year's, but I’ll probably just stay there most nights to give you guys some privacy. It’s no big deal.”
It began to sink in that our eight year run of living together as roommates was coming to an end. Since our sophomore year at USC, Ryan was the only person I had ever lived with besides my own family. Now I was going to live with a guy before marriage.
I had always heard that you should try living with someone before you marry them to see if you are really capable of co-habitation without killing each other. My parents did and I believe that is one of the reasons they are still together today.
A few minutes later, my cell phone rang. It was the officer who took my statement the evening before. He needed me to come down to the station and have a formal interview done with a tape recorder so they could file an official report against Christy for breaking and entering and attempted murder.
*~*~*
Brandon drove me down to the police station for the formal interview that afternoon. The investigating officer told me that Christy was still pretty beaten up from the fall and subsequent surgery she had to endure from the stab wound. Apparently, she had punctured her liver and would be in the hospital for at least a few more days –– enough time for the police to get all their ducks in a row. I really didn’t want to rehash the incident, but I knew it had to be done. After an hour and a half of me recounting the events, Brandon and I made our way to Macy’s at Union Square to get my mind off everything.
Macy’s at Union Square covers an entire block. Although I wanted to go crazy and buy the whole store, I had to remember that for the next few months my tiny closet was going to need to hold both my and Brandon’s clothes.
“Okay, all I really need is another nice dress so I don't keep wearing the same one over and over again,” I said to Brandon as we rode the escalator up to the Women's department.
“Whatever you want, Babe.”
“Are you sure you want to do this? Most guys seem to hate shopping.”
“Oh I do, but I want to be with you, so I don't mind.”
“Alright, well I don't want to hear any whining,” I said as I stuck out my tongue at him.
“And what if I do?” Brandon asked, smirking at me.
“Then... then... shit, I don't know. Don't give me that look, it drives me crazy and I can't think straight.”
“Drives you crazy good or drives you crazy bad?”
“Good,” I said as I blushed and tried to swat Brandon's arm, but he caught my wrist midair and pulled me to him for a quick kiss.
As we browsed around Macy's, I decided that I should be looking specifically for a dress for my company holiday party, as it was the next big event that I needed to attend.
I picked out a few dresses and told Brandon that I was going to try them on in the dressing room. The first dress I tried on was a metallic champagne A-line dress. Brandon said he liked it, but I wasn't feeling it. Next, I tried on a sleeveless dress made with sequined Graphite Grey satin; Brandon liked it as well, but it just wasn't calling my name.
Finally, I tried on the last dress. It was strapless and made of ivory lace in the pattern of roses with a few ruffles down the front starting at the waist. It was accented with a removable cream-colored belt. I think this is the one. I stepped out to show Brandon. As soon as his face lit up, I knew I had found the one.
“You like?” I asked as I did a little twirl so he could see the back.
“Yes, I like—a lot!” Brandon stood up and walked over to me.
“Yeah, I think this is it.”
“I need further convincing.”
“What?”
He grabbed my hand to lead me back into the dressing room and locked the door behind him.
“What are you doing?” I whispered.
Without answering, he spun me around and pushed me up against the fitting room mirror. My hands slammed into the mirror to brace myself as I felt Brandon's hard erection against my ass. He moved my hair to the side and kissed the side of my neck all the way down to the top of my shoulder, making the little hairs on the back of my neck stand at attention.
“Babe, we're in a public dressing room,” I panted in a whisper.
“Shh,” he said as he continued to kiss my neck and shoulder. His hand reached around my side as he slowly slid the dress up my thigh inch by inch.
“Babe...” I said in warning.
“Shh.”
His hand glided up my bare thigh and my breath caught when I felt his hand slowly slide into my panties. “Oh God,” I quietly groaned.
Brandon bit lightly on my right earlobe as he started teasing my clit with one of his fingers. I steadied myself with one arm on the mirror, resting my head on his chest as I reached up and grazed my other hand through his soft hair on the back of his neck. His finger slid through my slick wetness before sinking into me as I lifted my leg onto the bench, wanting more. I couldn’t help it ––Brandon brought out the exhibitionist in me. His touch was all I needed to forget everything around me.
“I can't keep my hands off of you when you wear a dress,” he whispered in my ear, causing my body to shiver as his breath touched my skin.
“Uh huh,” I mumbled. Not only could I barely talk because of the intense pleasure running through my body, but we were in a public dressing room in the middle of the day. I was both terrified and aroused by the thought that we could be caught at any second.
He continued creating circles around my aching clit with one finger as another of his fingers moved rhythmically inside my pussy over and over. His hard cock was still pressed into my ass. Lifting my head from his chest and moving forward a step, I slid my hand from the back of his neck. Then I reached down behind me and rubbed his erection through his jeans.
“Don't start something you can't finish,” he said, whispering in my ear again.
Ha, talk about calling the kettle black! I continued to stroke him as he brought my body closer to its release. I planned to finish him––I needed to finish him. He reached around and slipped his hand into the top of the dress, his fingers easily sliding beneath the silky material of my bra. He began to caress my right breast and roll the already hardened nipple between his fingers, sending my body into overdrive. I came around his finger, my belly clenching as the climax shot through me.
We stood there like that for a moment while I caught my breath, then Brandon slowly removed his hand from my panties. We heard the door next to us close as someone entered the dressing stall. I couldn’t believe what we had just done together in a public dressing room. It was exhilarating and slightly dangerous and I felt wonderfully alive, but we weren’t quite done. I turned around and began to undo his belt.
He caught my hands in his for a moment and raised an eyebrow at me as he nodded his head in the direction of the stall next to us. I grinned wickedly and held a finger to my lips, then made quick work of his belt and unbuttoned his jeans. Sliding the zipper down enough to reach inside, I grabbed his length, causing it to twitch in response. Brandon sat on the bench, his erection growing bigger as I ran my hand up and down around it
, milking him.
I saw a drop of his pre-cum glisten, reflecting the fluorescent lights above. I bent down on my knees and lowered my head as I licked the tip, tasting his salty goodness. We heard the lady leave the stall next to us and I almost giggled in relief. He sucked in a sharp breath when my wet tongue swirled around the head. He grabbed the back of my ponytail and guided my head as I bobbed up and down, sucking him over and over. I took him deeper and deeper into my throat until his body tightened and then convulsed slightly as he spurted hot cum down the back of my throat. He grunted slightly with his teeth gritted as he came, his eyes closed as he fought against groaning in pleasure.
“Well... guess I'm buying this dress,” I said, laughing as I stood up.
*~*~*
After our shopping adventure, Brandon and I took the elevator up to the top floor of Macy’s for a late lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. Since we had made a trip in the hustle and bustle, we wanted to see the giant Christmas tree at night.
The food was delicious, our waiter was attentive and funny, and the view was spectacular. All in all, it was a perfect night. After sharing an amazing piece of Dulce de Leche cheesecake, we were both stuffed and in desperate need of working off some calories. Brandon convinced me to go ice-skating with him so we headed down to the rink, which was by the lit Christmas tree.
I managed to make it around the rink a total of two times before I slipped and landed on my ass with a yelp, grimacing and laughing as Brandon tried to help me up without falling down to the ice with me. When I finally made it back to my feet, I slowly straightened with Brandon’s strong arms helping to brace me.
A young man with a camera skated up to us just then and asked if we’d like a photo for fifteen dollars. I was about to shake my head and say “no, thank you” when Brandon agreed, reaching into his wallet for a twenty dollar bill.
“Keep the change,” he said as the guy grinned and nodded his head in thanks.
“Okay, move a little closer together now and put your arm around her,” he directed us before taking our picture.
He took the picture as it printed out of his mobile device, reaching into his satchel for a cardboard frame with Christmas trees and elves on it. Handing it to Brandon, he nodded and wished us a Merry Christmas, then skated towards the next couple. They had no problem keeping their balance and the girl was even skating backwards while she faced her partner, her hands gripping his as they made their way around the rink.
