Mrs. Valentine: A Cupid's Arrow, Inc. Novella Page 5

by C. M. Steele

The wedding was going as planned. Dressed in a simple white dress, I stood beside Sebastian in the Cook County Courthouse expressing our love and devotion to each other as we said our vows. We could have had a massive wedding in the middle of a church or in a beautiful garden, but I wanted it to be simple, and Sebastian gave me whatever I asked for.

Everything went without a hitch. We were married, then walked around Millennium Park, taking pictures. His mother let us get away with a courthouse wedding if did professional images. After our time in the park, we had a small family dinner. It was a wonderful day, but the story made the papers. I knew it would be just a matter of time before the truth came out.

Three days later, Sebastian and I were leaving my doctor’s visit when a swarm of paparazzi came up on us.

“Mrs. Valentine, rumors are circling that Harold Cole is the father of your unborn child. Are they true?”

Another reporter asked, “Have you been having an affair with your stepfather?” I blanched, and I couldn’t believe this was happening. That was when I saw my mother approach. I hadn’t seen her since we parted ways after she told me to let Harold’s assault go and that I wasn’t going to ruin their wedding plans.

I closed my eyes and said a silent prayer that she wouldn’t be a part of this circus, but I was really wrong.

“You…stupid bitch. What is wrong with you? I paid for your tuition to make you go away and you still leaked it. I’m suing you and your rich husband. You’ve ruined my career.”

Sebastian gently but rapidly, pushed me behind me, then got in my mother’s face. “Get the fuck out of her face before I drop your has-been ass. The only reason you’re here is because you think she’s going to make you famous again. Get lost. Come near us again and I will have you arrested.”

Sebastian rushed us to his car, and we were off before they could follow. “I’m so sorry, Sebastian. I should have told you.”

“No, I’m sorry. I’m the one who had him investigated. Once I put the events together with the day you left, I knew it had to be him. I’m so sorry. Baby, can you please forgive me?”

“Why did you do that to me?”

“I wanted to make him pay for your fear.”

“Just take me home, Sebastian.” I didn’t feel like speaking to him or anyone at the moment. Today we confirmed that our baby was coming in November, and now it was marred by this foolishness.

I didn’t speak to him the rest of the day, and I felt like I would die, but it was all over the internet. My almost-rape, my mother’s threats, and the lies that someone had spread. That night, Sebastian left the condo without a word, and I felt the ache. Going to bed without him was terrible, but waking up without him ripped my heart in two.

I got dressed and went about my day half-alive when my mother-in-law showed up.

“Sweetheart, I heard. I’m so upset. Sebastian called me this morning asking me to check on you.”

  “Where is he?”

“He’s in his office downstairs, but he knows you’re mad at him.”

“Excuse me, Daphne. I’ve got to go talk to him.”

I rushed down to the office, not caring that I looked nuts to his staff.

“He’s in his office,” his assistant, Amanda, said with her phone to her ear.

I knocked on his door, and he snarled, “Go away.”

“Okay, I’ll be upstairs if you want to talk,” I said through the closed door. I hoped to hell no one could see my heartbreak. I was just about to walk away when the door opened.

“Mrs. Valentine. In my office now.” I followed his command and walked a few feet in front of him.

“Kaylee. I’m so damn sorry for what I did. I have a plan, but I won’t make a move until you tell me to.”

I pressed my hands down on his desk, my head down. “Sebastian. I’m the one who’s sorry. I shouldn’t have pushed you away.” I turned to face him with tears in my eyes. “I missed you too much.”

He pulled me into his arms. “Next time, I’ll knock the fucking door down, Kaylee.” He rubbed my cheeks, while staring into my eyes. “How are you feeling?”

“Much better now that we’re okay. We are okay, aren’t we?”

“Of course, my love.” His mouth came down on me, and it was the start of a most pleasant make-up session.

Our mouths still attached to each other, I walked her back to my desk. Once her legs hit the desk, I lifted her onto it. She parted her thighs, and I rested in between them, my hard cock, pressing against her belly. I groaned when I thought about my little one inside there. I rocked my hips up and down, letting her feel how hard she made me. She purred every time my shaft hit her core. Her fingers raked along my scalp.

Pulling away, I bent down and slid her joggers off her body, leaving her panties in place. Slowly, I climbed back up, kissing her inner thigh. Pushing her panties aside with my thumb, I flattened my tongue and licked her slit. Needing more, I gripped her thighs and put them on my shoulders. Her cries were intense, so she cupped her mouth to muffle her moans.

I smiled on her mound, then ate her out until she was crying out my name and her legs were shaking. Swiping my tongue across my lips, I let her know how much I loved eating her sweet pussy.

“Damn, baby. That was a delicious treat.”

I made quick work of her shirt and my clothes before entering my wife fully. I had to pause because I could feel her pussy pulsing still, and it was about to make me come.

Once I got my shit together and calmed the fuck down, I started to thrust in and out of her. I grunted and groaned before attacking her lips. My temperature was climbing, and I had to have more. I leaned us down further onto the desk, not giving a fuck what we messed up. Pumping into her, I reached for her ponytail and tugged.

“Don’t ever push me away again. I couldn’t take it. I love you too damn much.”

“I won’t,” she declared harshly, pulling my body closer to hers, wrapping her legs around my waist and grinding her pussy up onto my base, sending her over, coming hard on me while I jetted my load deep into her.

I took her home and loved her two more times before explaining what I had planned.

“So you’ve got proof that it was my mother that spread the lies?”

“Yeah, when I contacted that bastard’s lawyer I learned that she was cheating and got caught. She was getting nothing in the divorce and her career is in the tank. She let it slip during a private interview, claiming to have found love letters from him to you.”

  “Who writes love letters anymore?”

“Yeah, I only send you dirty texts,” she teased, winking at me. Letting her the sheet fall, she gave me a glimpse at her breasts.

I licked my lips before I asked, “So do you want me to let her have it?”

  “Yes.”

Good that was all I needed get her career ruined for life, and I did.

  Epilogue

I’d been working too much lately, and I worried that Kaylee was lonely. Our son had been born about six weeks ago, but I’d made a major breakthrough in my research, and the first round of testing was successful. I hoped that it would prove to be a victory for us, but I was afraid it would cost me my family.

It was already ten at night, and the last of the trials on the rodents was successful, so now it was going for clinical trials. On entering our house, I couldn’t find my wife anywhere. Shit. I looked in every room and she wasn’t there. I freaked out and called her cell.

“Where are you, Kaylee?” I roared into the phone.

“What, did you expect me to stay home all the time while you’re never here?”

Fuck, I knew I’d been working too long. “I thought you would understand that the trials were important.”

  “So is your son.”

“So are you, Kaylee. I know, and I’m sorry, but where the fuck are you? It’s ten at night.”

“Junior and I are downstairs in your office. I came to check on you, but you weren’t here.”

  “We missed each
other. I’m coming down right now. Wait there.”

I rushed down the stairs, forgetting that the elevator was a hell of a lot faster. I just wanted to get to my family. Exiting on my office floor, I opened the door, but it was dark. I clicked the wall switch, and a loud “Surprise!” rang out in the room.

I was shocked to see that it was a big party for me. My lovely wife walked up to me with my baby boy in her arms, and she kissed me. “Happy Birthday, Sebastian.”

“I forgot about my birthday. Wow. I need to start living outside the lab again. Have I been that out of it?”

“No, love. You’re doing an amazing job, and we are taking off two weeks for Christmas. You are a wonderful man and husband. Come on, and let’s celebrate.”

My mother walked up and hugged me close. “Happy birthday, my baby. I hope you enjoy your night. I love you.” Then she turned to Kaylee and took little Sebastian out of her arms. “Say goodnight to Mommy and Daddy.”

  “You’re taking the baby?”

“Happy birthday, son,” my stepfather said with a wicked grin. I gave him a hug, and they both left the party.

I couldn’t believe all the people that were here. Some of them were the same lab techs I’d seen about ten minutes earlier. It seemed everyone had been sneaky about this surprise.

“Let’s party, sir,” she demanded. Gladly, I led my wife onto the makeshift dance floor in the middle of my office lobby, took her in my arms, and twirled her about. I looked down at her beautiful eyes and thought about our first dance. It hadn’t been a year, but she’d changed everything for me.

“Thank you for the party and everything. You’re my rock. I love you, my love.” I pulled her close and kissed her lips. It was soft at first, then crazy, just like our first dance, but this time I wasn’t going to let her run away. She was mine.

  Six Years Later…

“As I stand up here, accepting this prestigious honor in cancer research, I am humbled and honored to share this with my friend, my lover, my whole world, Kaylee Valentine. She showed me a life of love and happiness. Without her, I don’t know if I could have made it through all the failures and setbacks. Even with our four boys, she still managed to take the time out to visit the lab and assist me in this research. Thank you, my love. My Mrs. Valentine.”

I raised the award to her as the light shone on her beauty. She gave me a lovely smile. I basked in her radiance, then her expression changed. She grimaced and gripped her round belly. Shit, number five was making her presence known.

“Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen. It seems my other sweet Valentine is ready to celebrate as well.”

I jumped off the stage and rushed over to Kaylee, who was keeled over. I heard someone call an ambulance while I scooped her up and carried her out to the front.

  “I’m sorry, Sebastian.”

“Don’t be sorry. I love you, Kaylee. Now let’s go bring my daughter into this world.” Just in time to get to the hospital, my baby girl was born.

“Welcome to the world, my Ella.”
