Lose Control (Firebacks Book 3) Page 19

“I need you to cum with me inside you,” he explained.

Chryssa played with herself as she waited him out. By the time he spread her legs apart and hovered over her back, all she wanted was for him to just finish this. Instead he supported his body above her on strong arms and rubbed his dick up and down her ass.

“Eli,” she complained, arching her back higher so he could slip in, but he didn’t. He let the tip of him brush her nub before he was back on her ass letting his precum coat her skin. “Eli, stop teasing me.”

“Isn’t that what you’ve been doing all these weeks? Saying we were just friends. Flirting with those men in the gym?” he asked letting his tip enter her just a little before he withdrew completely. Whimpering, she followed him until she was on her knees.

“Eli,” she pleaded trying to reach for him behind her. He grabbed her hand lowering it back to the bed, then pressed his palm between her shoulder blades till she was lying back on the bed. “Eli, please.”

  “No more teasing?” he asked.

“No more teasing.” She nodded her head. “I swear.”

She didn’t even care what she was agreeing to. All she wanted was him inside her. This time when he started to push in, he really pushed in. Chryssa had never had sex with a man raw and this sensation was completely different. She could feel every inch of his steely length as it penetrated her.

And when he began to move, it was as if heaven and hell had come together to wreak havoc on her body. She buried her moans in the pillow, as Eli showed her what she’d been missing by being angry with him. It went on for too long: it lasted for too short a time. Chryssa arched her back, throwing her ass back to meet his every thrust.

When he sucked on the skin of her neck, right at her spot, she began to tremble. The tremors making their way through every nerve in her body till her pussy began to convulse on his rod. The more the pleasure coursed through her, the more she milked him until he finally released his seed into her. They both groaned as they shattered.

“Fuck,” Eli said as he dropped to the bed beside her. Chryssa burst into laughter. She really was a bad influence on him.

  CHAPTER 27

As soon as Eli opened the door to her apartment the aromatic scent of cooking food mingled in with the scent of coming home met him. Setting his case on the trolley, by the door, next to Chryssa’s handbag, he followed the tantalizing aromas into the kitchen where he found her.

She didn’t hear him come in because of the large earphones she had to her ears as she rolled out a blob of flour on the counter into a flat cake. Her unawareness of his presence gave him time to just observe her from the door: from the messy bun she had tamed the curls of her hair above her head to her supple back covered in a white tank top: from her bare feet to her long legs cut off by the white shorts she wore that caressed all her curves most deliciously. His body lit up in appreciation.

Each sway of her hips as she swayed imperceptibly to the music only she could hear drew his attention to her ass. And what an ass it was.

Unable to resist her anymore, he walked up to her. She jumped in alarm when he wrapped his arms around her waist. Her head whipped back but just in time he pulled his own back to prevent from being knocked on the chin or something.

Removing the earphones, she berated him, “Why are you always doing that? How many times have I-”

Eli cut off all the complaining with one kiss. And just as he knew she would – she shut up and took it like his woman. Her lips opened up underneath his accepting his kiss. There was a dull thump as she dropped the rolling pin on the counter and turned in his arms.

The meeting of their lips inflamed him. The gentle tangle of their tongues tugged at his awareness, sending all the blood in his brain to his cock and the way she pressed her curves into his length only made him want more. If it wasn’t for another pleading rumble from his stomach he would’ve let the kiss move into much more. He ended the kiss, with a soft pull on her lower lips before saying, “Hey.”

Eli smiled in male pride at the breathlessness in her voice when she greeted, “Hey.”

“How was work today?” he asked.

“The usual,” she said as she drew away from his arms. Almost as if she knew he was hungry she set an already made pizza and a glass of fresh juice from the fridge on the kitchen island shuffling him towards it as she spoke, “Linden messed up another case up and I had to do damage control…”

He sat at the counter eating and listening to her while in turn telling her about how his day went. This is what he missed about being in a relationship. Having someone to come home to and share your day with. He only wished it was his home and not hers that they were doing this in.

He wanted her somewhere where he knew he was taking care of her and not just there for moral support. He wanted her in his house and his bed. Of course that would take strategy, but Eli was the master of strategy. She wouldn’t even know what hit her.

When she was done cooking, she settled next to him to eat, listening to him tell her about the consult that had kept him working late.

“He thinks that the surgery will stop the visions,” Eli explained. “And of course it will because that’s the tumor talking not God. The boy’s hallucinating.”

“Are you telling me that this nigga wants to keep his son with a tumor just so that he can keep his cult running?” Chryssa wiped the corner of his mouth with her finger flicking away the tiny bit of pastry. “You need to call child services on his ass.”

“We did but…” He inched his hand towards her plate as he spoke. She immediately slapped it. He yelped, “Ow.”

“You think you’re slick, don’t you?” She said pulling her plate further away from him.

“But I’m hungry,” he whined faking a pout.

“You’ve already eaten four.” She waved a slice in his face. “Me and your baby need a little something too.”

Her words sobered him up. She didn’t notice though because she continued to eat. He said, “Chrys?”

  “Yeah!”

“We need to talk about the baby.”

She paused in her eating. The last time this subject had come up she had cursed him out before stomping away. Pushing away the small twinge of nervousness, he asked, “What do you want to do?”

He held his breath as he waited for her answer. The thought of starting a family with Chryssa and having a child to call his own was tempting. But he knew the risks. If she didn’t want to do this, the process would be much, much harder on them. This was up to her.

She turned on the high stool to face him. “I want to try. I know you probably don’t want a baby with me because of my condition but my doctor says-”

He leaned forward and pressed his lips against hers, stemming her word-flow. She still tasted of the pizza they’d just eaten. Before either of them could melt into the kiss he separated their lips and said, “I want to try too.”

  “You do?” she asked.

Taming his excitement, he nodded, “I do, but I should tell you something.”

She narrowed her eyes as she waggled her finger at him, “I swear if you tell me you have some other woman running around pregnant with your child…”

“Chryssa, why do you always think the worst of me?” He chuckled as he shook his head. “Cause you’re a man and all men are dogs,” she responded, but eased the sting of her words by pressing a quick kiss on his lips.

“My mom has OCD and Agoraphobia,” he said. “but it’s more environmental than genetic.”

He kept his voice even and matter-of-fact as he explained the situation unwilling to let her see the pain he felt just saying the words. Eli loved his mother dearly, but her condition was the reason he was who he was and why Chryssa’s sickness had been so hard to take.

Early in his parent’s marriage, his mother had been gang-raped. The experience had destroyed her confidence and sense of security. It’d driven her to a fear of stepping out of the house and being confronted by the world again. It
d driven her to an obsessive compulsive need to control every minute detail of her life and those she loved so she could make sure nothing happened to them while they were out there instead of closeted in the house.

Sometimes the things she controlled didn’t even make sense: how the clothes were folded, his laces were tied, what saucepan was used to cook. People thought he was demanding? They’d never lived with Nadine. Eli along with his father and siblings had humored her because her breakdowns were not something you wanted a repeat performance of.

“Is your mom the reason you didn’t want to stay with me?” She asked. When he didn’t answer, she explained, “Zain told me there was a reason why so I’m just guessing.”

  “Yeah,” he finally answered.

Where he was expecting her to burst into a diatribe about what a coward he was, she sighed heavily instead. “I know how hard it is living with someone who’s sick. Living with my mother during her episodes was like starring in a horror movie. Then she’d get better and I’d think next time I’ll be used to it. I never was.”

Eli kept quiet as Chryssa opened up to him. Glad that he was getting another piece of her, but sad that no one had been there for her as she battled her mother’s demons. At least he’d had his father.

Her face was an expressionless mask; but he could hear the pain behind her words as she spoke. “I couldn’t even talk to anyone because everyone else thought she was a monster. Mickey was there but he was just a baby and I didn’t want him having to deal with it.”

“After she died, I swore that I wouldn’t even come close to someone who even smelt like they could have a mental disease. So I understand why you wouldn’t want to have to be with a monster like me.”

“You’re not a monster.” He shuffled closer to her and wrapping his arm around his waist. It was the first time they were actually talking about what had happened between them and Eli took the chance to set things right. “You’re a beautiful, loyal and generous woman. I’m sorry that I made you feel that way.”

“Not even when I’m treating you like shit?” she asked.

  “Well maybe then-”

“You’re supposed to say no, asshole,” she punched his chest. But it was light punch and there was a smile behind her words. Eli dipped his head closer to have a taste of it.

The kiss led to more and in a couple of minutes he had her in his arms carrying her out of the kitchen. The moment he sat on the bed she was on his lap kissing him. She already had him stripped of his shirt and was kissing the line of his jaw when he reminded her, “Baby take your drugs first.”

“They make me too drowsy,” she whined, kissing the line of his jaw oh so temptingly. “I can take them later when we’re done.”

“There’s no way you’re even going to be walking by the time we’re done.” He tipped her chin up to look at him. In her eyes he could see some defiance like she wanted to protest. Soothingly, he said, “Don’t worry I don’t mind doing all the work.”

“Okay.” She nodded reluctantly. “Let me go get a glass of water.”

“I’ll do it.” He set her on the bed and padded to the kitchen on bare feet, smiling. She probably didn’t even know that she was listening to him! Before she would’ve just gone ahead and done whatever the hell she wanted. But now she trusted him enough to let him make some of the decisions.

By the time he came back she already had the plastic pill bottles on the dresser. She’d stopped putting them under the bed after he’d asked her not to and now put them in a drawer in her dresser. He set the glass of water next to her and went to sit on the bed watching her.

She was just about to pop the first pill when her phone vibrated on the bedside table beside her side of the bed. Eli reached over and picked it up to look at the screen. “It’s Tasha.”

Still carrying the pill in her hand, Chryssa came to sit beside Eli and picked the call. Instantly her eyes narrowed in anger. “Hanna did what…why would she bring cops…I’m on my way. No. I don’t mind….You guys aren’t that far. Just give me a couple of minutes and I’ll be there.”

As soon as she ended the call, she put the pill back into its container and announced, “We need to go to Kian’s hotel.”

  “What’s happened?”

“RJ ran away from home again…” Chryssa explained as she changed into something a bit more street friendly. “…and Hanna’s brought the cops accusing Kian of kidnapping him.”

Putting on his coat, Eli complained, “You need to let Tasha know why she can’t keep calling you in the middle of the night.”

“I know. I will. Soon.” Her tone was offhand, but Eli knew she would keep postponing it for as long as possible.

Chryssa was still afraid of telling her other friends about her condition because she didn’t know how they’d react. Eli was more a ‘better to know now and ditch them’ man. Her telling them would not only act as a way to sift out the bad friends, but it would make his job of taking care of her so much easier.

Chryssa added, “But right now I need to go kick myself some Hanna ass.”

“Don’t be too hard on her.”

She only chuckled as she led the way to the door.

  CHAPTER 28

By the time Chryssa and Eli got to the hotel, Hanna and her band of cops had attracted a large crowd of guests in the lobby.

“Keifer, if you don’t get my son down this instant you won’t like where this will go.” Hanna’s voice barely rose in volume, but you could hear the venom in her words and that the threats she was making were by no means empty.

“I’ve told you, he’s already asleep.” Kian answered barely fazed by all of Hanna’s four nine inches of menace.

“Make him get my son.” Hanna turned to the two uniformed cops who stood behind her. Tone icier than a glacier, she repeated, “Make him get my son right now.”

The cops looked nonplussed about their next course of action. Their gazes shifted between Hanna and Kian then exchanged wary looks. Chryssa knew why they were having such a hard time deciding what do

“They can’t make Kian do anything.” Chryssa’s interruption attracted everyone’s attention as she walked towards them with Eli on her heels. “RJ came here on his own. That makes this a civil affair not a kidnapping. Am I right officers?”

The look on the cops faces as they nodded in agreement was identical – relief. Kian was more guarded about his relief, but it was there in his eyes and he stepped away from Hanna. Hanna glared at Chryssa and her thin lips turned up in a sneer.

Any other woman would’ve cowered at the scathing look. Hanna had a way of looking at someone designed to make one feel like less than whatever was at the bottom of her heel. Chryssa wasn’t intimidated. She was at the bottom of a no one’s heel.

Steeling her shoulders, she gave Hanna the same exact look. “Hello Hanna.”

Ignoring Chryssa, Hanna turned her attention the officers. “If you don’t get my son this minute I’ll-”

“You’ll. Do. Nothing…” Chryssa launched her attack on Hanna. “…except walk out of here and let Kian spend a peaceful night with his son to make up for the fifteen years you denied him.”

Hanna chuckled derisively. “Who the hell do you think you are talking to me like that? Do you know who I am? I could destroy your career like this…” she snapped her fingers.

“I know who you are.” Chryssa mimicked Hanna’s mocking chuckle. “Hanna Clayton. Lawyer. Criminal Defense win rate eighty five percent. Started out with Leiberman Associates New Jersey straight out of law school. Been with Green, Green & Beckett for the last four years, but trying to become a judge now. Needs Tess Harrington’s connections to do that because her father in law, Senator Richard Clayton II, has refused to endorse her…”

  “How did you kn-”

“I’m not done yet.” Chryssa interrupted in a singsong voice making a closing motion with her fingers. Shut the fuck up. It was insulting, but effective. Hanna shut up. Chryssa continued, “Hanna Simms. Criminal. Daughter of dru
g king Malcolm Simms and suspected in aiding several illegal transactions. Pedophile for getting pregnant with a fifteen year old when she was twenty two, blackmailer for trying to get my client to relinquish his rights under duress and child abuser for holding my client’s son captive.”

Everyone was stunned because that was way much more information than they were expecting. The guests who were around them started whispering as they stared at Hanna. She almost hooted in laughter at the small flash of fear in Hanna’s eyes before it was quickly snuffed out and icy amber eyes stared back at her.

Chryssa mentally made a note to thank Aaron for all his good work as she added, “And I haven’t even started on the fact that you tried to bribe a lab assistant to tamper with the DNA results.” She clucked her tongue derisively. “You’ve been a bad girl, Hanna and I you’re more likely to destroy your own career than mine.”

  Hanna stayed silent.

“We’ll be going now.” One of the officers cleared his throat as he took a step back noticing that the tide had turned. “Like the nice lawyer said this looks like a civil case.”

“Thank you, officer.” Chryssa smiled. “We really appreciate you taking time out from your own families to come and deal with this misunderstanding.”

Once the officers walked away, Chryssa turned to Kian and Eli, ignoring Hanna who still stood in stunned silence. There was a glint of respect in Eli’s eyes as he looked at her. He rubbed his chin in the way he usually did when he was thinking of sex.

  Unbelievable.

The guy was actually turned on by her little display of power. Equally unbelievable was that she was a bit turned on too. Quashing it she asked Kian, “Are you okay?”

  “Now I am.” He smiled.

“This isn’t over,” Hanna said from behind her.

Pretending like she couldn’t hear her, Chryssa asked Kian, “Is everyone alright up there?”

“I said this isn’t over, Chryssa.” Hanna tapped her shoulder.

Chryssa smiled as she turned to face Hanna. “Of course it’s over.”
