Wings of The Wraith Page 8

by Khardine Gray

Instead of his eyes turning that strong gold color, they seem to venture to when he was turned on, they turned a darker coal, almost black.

Against his bronze skin he looked even more perfect.

And more perfect still when he lifted his top over his head and shrugged out of it.

My eyes glued to his torso and took in all those tattoos, dark and inky against the solid walls of his mile wide chest.

Heat rushed to my cheeks at the sight of him.

A lock of his wild hair fell over his left eye as he looked down to undo his belt buckle. He looked at me beneath it and I got lost in his stare.

With the belt undone he pulled his zipper down and his pants drifted down the length of his powerful, toned legs.

He wore boxers which looked amazing on him.

He kicked the pants off in the same way I had mine, along with his shoes, and held out his arms to the side.

“Is that what you want Princess?”

I nodded with complete satisfaction. He was so much more than what I could have ever wanted.

  “Right, less talking more indulging.”

  “I agree.”

I sucked in a breath when he lowered again and moved to my core, placing little kisses all along the edge of my pelvis. He moved the panties aside and parted my legs, so he could have better access to my core.

First, he slid two fingers inside me. My knees buckled when he did that, and I gasped, sucking in a sharp breath at the blast of pleasure.

He slid his fingers in and out. I held on to his shoulders at first, but it wasn’t helping. I had to lean against the tree behind me. It was rough against my back, but I didn’t care.

He continued that motion for a little while until I was nearly at the door of my climax. That was when he replaced his fingers with his tongue.

His tongue reached inside me, tasting me, taking me, indulging on me.

Mindless moans of pleasure fell from my lips as I came completely undone in mind, body, and soul.

The orgasm that gripped me sent me over the precipice of reality. Right over the edge of what I had known and into something I knew I would always want.

A growl rumbled in his chest as he drank me and licked me clean. When he was done, he pulled my panties down my legs and moved up to my breasts again to lick both nipples.

  “Time for more fun Princess.”

I was breathing so hard I thought I was going to faint, but I got a grip on myself to watch in delight as he pushed his boxers down and revealed the magnitude of his thick cock, which looked like it was ready to be inside me.

To my shock he grabbed my hand and placed it over his shaft, working my hand up and down the thick length.

“This is all for you.” He squeezed my hand around the base.

  “Me?”

“Yes, all yours. Remember that. Only the perfect woman could do this to me.”

My lips parted, he spun me around to face the tree and moved close to whisper into my ear.

“I don’t need to wear a condom, but I will if it makes you feel better. More normal.”

I never even thought of that.

He pressed his lips to the crevice of my neck and kissed me there while tweaking my nipples. I couldn’t think of anything better than having him inside me. All of him.

“You don’t have to. I want to feel you.”

He didn’t need any further instruction.

  “Spread your legs Princess.”

I did as he said. He slid his fingers inside me again, then I felt the fat head of his cock.

He pushed and prodded at my entrance, moving in inch by inch until he was right inside.

I gasped at the feel of him filling me up, filling me right up until my world was full of him.

He took hold of my waist and started with a slow pump, then a little faster once I’d adjusted to him.

I moaned into the rhythm and pace, clutching onto the bark of the tree for support.

Faster, he went faster and faster, the feel of him inside me was more than I could describe.

His grip tightened around me as he started pounding. Fucking me into a mindless oblivion and soon the only sound I could hear was our moans of ecstasy, and our bodies slapping together.

We both got lost in the rhythm. Lost in the sexual heat. Lost in time and space. Lost in each other.

Waves of pleasure and ecstasy coursed through my body, singing and dancing through my veins. Leaving heat and fire in its passage.

I never believed I could feel this way. It was unreal, unimaginable, unbelievable. And still he was giving me more to captivate me.

Dante pulled out in the height of that passion and twisted me back to face him. He lifted me up and eased me down onto his cock again. I wrapped my legs around him to get a good grip, then he positioned himself inside me and started pumping again.

This position felt more intimate and it was. It really was.

He held me around my waist with one hand, then with the other he smoothed his hand to the back of my head and brought my lips down to his.

We stayed like that for a few moments, once again getting lost in the throes of passion.

Then...something primal and hot seemed to take hold of both of us and suddenly he was rutting into me like an animal. It was mindless need, the same mindless need I felt that made me want to devour him.

I knew our end was near after that. I just knew it. I did my best to hold on because I didn’t want it to end. I wished we could stay like this forever.

I tried so hard to hang on to the swirl of emotion that gripped me –that had never happened with anyone else, but this time the orgasm that seized me scorched my body clean with a wave of energy and fire. It rushed over both of us in a cascade of light.

He jackhammered into his own release, erupting with a blast inside me.

We were both breathing hard and covered in sweat. He pulled me down for another kiss and held me close, wrapping his arms around me.

“This has to happen again Alyssa. It has to,” he breathed into my ear.

I lifted my head slightly, but pressed it to his. “Yes, it has to.”

“When you come to Picchus all you’ll have to do is think of me to find me.”

I looked at him. “That’s all?”

“That’s it, but only certain people can do that.”

“What kind of people?” I teased. I already knew what he was going to say but I wanted to hear it.

“Special people. The kind of person who’d want to keep seeing me.”

  “That sounds like me.”

I giggled when he kissed me again and set me down.

We kissed again and again. It was clear we were both trying to hold onto the moment. But it was also clear we needed to get back to reality.

We needed to get right back.

At the realization, the expression on Dante’s face fell, as did mine. We sorted ourselves out quickly and got our clothes back on.

“What should we do now?” I asked.

“We need to focus on something that looks different. There’s a loop of some sort that makes us keep going around in circles. Designed to make sure we never get to where we’re going. But each time we keep passing whatever that thing is.”

“Well I’ll keep a close eye out.”

“If we were somewhere else shit like that wouldn’t work on me.” His brows snapped together.

I figured as much, although I wouldn’t have known the limitations on my own magic.

I just guessed that whatever affected him, must affect me too.

“I know. What else –” I stopped in mid-sentence when something snaked up my leg. I looked down to see root vines moving up from the ground, wrapping around both my legs.

“Dante!” I screamed and tried to move to him.

But Dante couldn’t help me. Hovering over him was a dragon like creature. White, pure white, and it seemed to be pulling his soul from his body.

The cry that came from his lips was so loud and pi
ercing it ripped through me. I reached for him, but the vines surrounded me sucking me right into somewhere.

  I didn’t know where.

  Chapter 9

  Dante

The last time I felt pain like that was when the wraith demon possessed me.

It was the type of pain that I couldn’t express or describe.

A person would have to go through it themselves to really know what I was talking about.

  Fucking Elvin queen.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before she reared her head.

I hoped she wouldn’t but in the back of my mind I expected something like this.

I’d never met her before and I never wanted to. She was one being I hoped to never cross paths with.

The bitch had both Alyssa and I secured by vines on either side of her lair.

Alyssa was in a glass case strapped against the wall to her left and I was to the right. Vines wrapped around Alyssa, but something different was on me.

Straps of gold from the mythical golden fleece.

It was the only thing strong enough to trap and hold an angel.

The queen sat on her throne, eyes fixed on me as I glowered at her.

I’d already thrown every single curse at her under the moon and sun. And I’d filled in the blanks on why we were here.

But she didn’t want to listen.

She didn’t want to listen and now we were here wasting time.

I continued my gaze on her, partially not wanting to look at Alyssa because it was difficult to see her so terrified and not be able to help.

There was also another reason why I couldn’t look her in the eye. It was because I figured out everything.

What used to be riddles were no longer riddles.

For me. I was the only person in the whole scenario that hadn’t jumped on board the save the world train because I wanted to save the world.

I jumped on this mission, because I had a personal stake in it. Save the girl and find Kolai.

  Find Kolai, and save myself.

I never realized that path to being pure of heart was falling for her. There were only a few things in this world that could make you pure of heart. Love was always the route to it.

Love made you care, love made you sacrifice, love made you do good.

It also made you do whatever you could for the person you loved.

Even as I thought about it, I knew it was crazy. I was crazy, but I knew truth when I saw it, even when I didn’t want to accept it. Non-acceptance didn’t make it any less true.

That spark of wild attraction I’d felt when I first saw her wasn’t just attraction. It was love.

In all the hundreds of years I’d lived. All the eras I’d seen, I’d never felt love. Not like this, and not for a woman I’d known for less than a handful of days.

It was a realization that snapped to my mind quickly when I saw that I couldn’t save her.

And as I risked looking over at her I felt it even more, and she knew it.

“All, so, interesting.” The queen laughed.

My gaze darted back to her.

The queen may have looked like a teenage girl, but she was far from it. Her age itself was as old as time. She just didn’t age.

She sat on her throne with two elks on either side of her and her guards, two powerful looking warriors with sharp pointed ears. White blond hair like Neo’s flowed from their heads and their faces were like angels in beauty.

All elves looked that way. The men and women. It was because they got their magic from the stars and light.

  “What is interesting?” I balked.

“The two creatures in my new collection are not only rare and precious, and very useful to me, but they’re also in love.”

Even from here, I could see Alyssa blushing and I could feel the conflict of emotion that washed over her mind.

She was scared, but I could feel all that she felt for me.

  Love.

It was all over her, surrounding her and filling her.

  It was new to me.

I’d never been with a woman who’d felt that way about me before. The same way that I’d never been in love, not until now.

“Let us go. My Lady, you know what is at stake if I don’t get Alyssa to the Shadowlands. How about you either help us or allow us to leave and do what we need to do. We’ll even come back, and we can finish this little fiasco.”

I hated that I had to call her My Lady.

“You think I’m stupid, tainted one?” she laughed. “You come to my realm uninvited and defile my forest with your traipses, then to make matters worse you mate in my realm for all to see.”

“Like fuck, we did our best with the little privacy we had.”

My reply irked her as I intended.

“Insolent fool, do you know how serious this is?”

“I don’t care. What I care about is that you’re making us waste time. everything about this is wrong and you know it. The necromancer and Balmora will come here and take her. You think you stand a chance against either of them?”

Something in her eyes flickered. I seriously hoped it meant she was thinking about it.

I didn’t have the power to read someone like her. Her magic was far too powerful and she’d managed to block me out.

“Answer me.” I demanded. “If you’re a match for the pair of them then fantastic. I’ll shut right the hell up.”

She frowned, because she knew I was right.

“Okay, tainted one. I’ll tell you what,” she laughed an evil sort of laugh that infuriated me even more than I already was. “How about a little game?”

“Do we look like we want to play a fucking game?”

“Not so much, but you will play. If you play, I will open the portal to the Shadowlands.”

  “You can do that?”

  “I can do many things.”

“Then help us. Join us.” I couldn’t stand her. But help was help, didn’t matter where it came from.

“No, I will do no such thing. I will not piss off evil and put my people in more danger. Danger you have brought to our door. You and this girl. A syph. All so interesting, but so terrifying too.”

“What is the game?” I just wanted to get the hell out of here.

“I want you to fight our best warrior, but as a human.”

“What?” I snapped thinking about the absurdity of it.

“I want you to become Sir Dante, Templar Knight to Richard the Third.” She smirked with a wicked grin and rubbed her bony hands together.

I looked over at Alyssa who looked so much more terrified now.

  “I accept.”

  Alyssa

  ***

I hated that he couldn’t hear me.

Granted, I was crying yet again, but I was terrified and couldn’t help it.

I didn’t know what was going to happen.

Wouldn’t the elf queen’s best warrior be an elf too?

My question was answered when the walls around us moved, sliding out on either side to reveal a massive courtyard. The wall to the right of the queen’s side opened and a hideous creature walked out, stomping into the courtyard.

His face was grotesque and looked like a cross between a rhino, a boar, and a bat.

That was the best way that I could describe it.

Large tusks were visible in its mouth and slime dripped down his chest.

His hairy, hairy chest. His whole bulky body was covered in hair, and this thing was tall, very tall. Like fifteen feet tall.

The queen laughed as her warrior moved forward with confidence.

A sword, big and broad appeared in his hand and he held it high and growled a fierce growl that reverberated off the walls. It rippled through the glass case I was in and into me making my soul shiver.

  Jesus, please help us.

That was me praying now. I was praying because I didn’t know if Dante could fight that creature as a man.

  The queen loo
sened the fine golden chain that held him in place and waved her hand in a circular motion.

“Revertio discadentio.” She cooed with delight and smiled wider when Dante transformed into the knight he was when he was human.

His hair was the first thing that changed. It grew longer and stopped at his elbow, then the vast bulk of muscle decreased to what I would definitely call human sized. Now he looked just like a regular guy who worked out at the gym.

His clothes were the last thing. Armor covered him and then the red and white emblems for the Knights of Templar.

A whirlwind of magical gold dust carried with it a sword which he reached for and gripped when it came to him.

He was looking at the creature, but he paused to face me, and I realized he really was human. He even looked it.

There was a scar on his face that went right across it from his left eye to his right cheek.

I kicked out at the glass and wiggled my fingers, moving any part of me that could acknowledge him.

“Dante.” I called out, but he couldn’t hear me, and if he was human, I knew he wouldn’t be able to hear my thoughts either.

A small smile of reassurance appeared on his face, but just for a second. Then it was gone. It left when the creature bellowed that hideous noise again.

I didn’t know how he could fight that thing. I didn’t know how anyone could.

“Let the games begin.” The queen shouted with a dark smile on her face.

If I could get my hands on her I would have slapped the smile off her stupid fucking face.

Who did things like this? Who?

Her stupid realm was also at risk if Balmora and the necromancer got their hands on me.

She laughed in delight as the creature rushed Dante swinging his sword at him.

I screamed, thinking he was going to chop his head off.

Dante, however, miraculously dodged him. He slid under him, going through the wide gap between his legs.

Dante also used the movement to thrust his sword up high into the creature, slicing him as he passed by.

The creature howled in pain and the queen scowled.

I was breathing so hard I couldn’t catch my breath to steady it. I couldn’t focus or concentrate, and I dared not look away just in case something happened to Dante.

The creature whirled around to face him in a rage and knocked Dante to the ground with the hilt of his sword. I gasped at the sight because I was sure that would have knocked him out.
